No one really believes in the childhood declarations of love can truly mean a lifetime love. So, when childhood friends and backyard neighbors Laina Jameson and Kyle Owens were inseparable as children and young teens until Kyle’s family moved across the country from Boston to Seattle, both sets of parents were certain that the young friends would soon find other friends with whom they would bond. And, both children did develop other friends and, with age, shared romantic love.
So, when Laina said goodbye to the East Coast and her Boston family to move to Seattle where she had recently been hired as a member of C&K Marketing, the beautiful 25-year-old with pansy blue eyes and dark wavy hair, was excited for the move, even though she would miss her close relationship with her parents, she was ready for new adventures. What she never expected was to learn that the “K” in C&K Marketing was her childhood best friend—the friend whom she had loved as a young adolescent, but who had moved before the young friends’ relationship could fully evolve in to a romantic love.
And now, when Kyle Owens, the CEO and directing partner of C&K Marketing, and she are once more in each other’s world, the sparks of romantic love that they were too young to fully recognize years earlier, develop and quickly start emerging. But not every being in the universe cheers for the reunited childhood friends. Kyle’s mom is on the hunt for the perfect wife for her CEO son from amongst the very eligible and interested daughters of her social circle. So, while Kyle and Laina attempt to negotiate emerging love in the workplace, other forces like Kyle’s manipulative mom, have other plans for the friends who are exploring the world of romantic love.

Honestly ok because it was definitely a really good book for a filler and it didn’t feel like a book that you would want to read it again. However it is something you would not want to put down since it was one those books that were so captivating and literally made you want to keep on reading like seriously I could not stop reading this, but I knew I had two since I had to go to work but I did not want to. I seriously was late almost 2 days in a row due to this book and honestly, I think it was worth it but I won’t read it again so it definitely was not my favorite and mostly all my favorites get five stars one and two I highly recommend them and three I most likely will want to read it again and again, and again like seriously the last book I’ve read was a reread and honestly I knew how the outcome was, but I still had to read it because I just felt so engrossed in it and with this book, I didn’t feel that however, I will still recommend this book to read since this book was such a good filler so like for instance what I mean by that is because this book can be read and put down and you still get the same feeling as you did after you put it down so it’s definitely something to read at events that you don’t like because it will keep you occupied so yes, I do recommend it and no I do not recommend it due to some of the negative comments they said, however, I won’t go by my review if I was you, I would just read it and if you find the description good because you never know if you would like it more than the person who’s reviewing it because I can tell you there’s there was tons of five stars reviews before I ran a test and honestly I think we all have our opinion in my opinion has a really high standard and I hate that I put these books such a high standard but I think why I do that is because I’m interest in writing, and especially writing a book or I should say books. But, I honestly has to say go with your gut.
Jessi Jade has written a 5-star book. This is the story of Laina and Kyle. Laina and Kyle had been friends growing up until his father go another job in Seattle and they moved away. Now Laina has moved to start a new job for C&K Marketing. When she shows up on her first day, she sees Kyle. Kyle gets a call from his mother and is told about the date she has set up for him. The dates so far have not turned out well. After the last date his mother set up for him, he thinks that all she wants is for him to be married to someone she has picked out for him. He comes up with a plan and he hopes that Laina will help him with it. When Kyle tells Laina what he wants, at first she doesn't know if she would help him. She has had feelings for him for a long time. She agrees to help him. Their first date is to a charity event and this is when she finds out that his mother doesn't like her. His mother calls and wants him to have dinner with them and when he tells her that Laina will be coming she is not happy about it. When they get to the restaurant, his mother tells him that his ex is there with her parents and she thinks they should eat with them. Kyle tells his mother a few things and then he and Laina leave. Kyle decides that to get his mother to really stop, he and Laina need to be engaged. He tells Laina what he is planning and she wished that it was for real but doesn't tell him this. Will things between Laina and Kyle turn real? This was a wonderful book and I would recommend it to anyone.

Growing up and making life changes can put you right where you should be. Laina is a middle class girl who has busted her but to get where she is at in her career and takes a leap of faith on moving across the country for a job in order for a change of pace. Kyle left Boston years ago due to his parents and is now CEO of a marketing firm. from the moment that Laina walks in the door, all the major changes start. The friendship soon turns into a way to get his mother to face reality and quit trying to marry him off to the best socialite. As they spend more time together old feelings surface and so do new ones. Laina and Kyle are both easy to love characters. Laina is basically the girl next door that works hard in her life. Kyle is the rich boy who has worked to get where he is at, even if his dad gave him the CEO position, but is down to earth and still enjoys the simple things in life. The events that unfold and come about due to the plan, have a very real life feel to them. Both characters learn and grow through the story. This is definitely an onion peeler. Layers upon layers. A sweet read with passionate scenes sprinkled in. I received an advanced copy of this book and I am voluntarily leaving my honest review.
This was a great story. It was easy to read with characters that were relatable making it easy to like them. What happens when best friends suddenly run into each other after being apart for years? True best friends...connect as easily now as they did before. They will do anything to support their best friend. This is how Laina ends up fake dating and fake engaged to Kyle. His mom is a very controlling and snooty woman. She believes he should marry within his same social class regardless of his happiness. Constantly sending him on dates with different women who fit her idea of an appropriate daughter-in-law. Seriously, what could go wrong with his plan to get his mom off of his back? What happens when boundaries are crossed and fake starts to feel real? Are Laina and Kyle willing to be honest with their true feelings or too caught up in their web of deception? Will Kyle's mom even consider allowing Laina to be a permanent fixture in his life? All these questions can be found within the pages of Billionaire Bestie.

Laina has recently relocated to Seattle for a new job. On her first day, she finds out her old friend, Kyle, is the recently appointed CEO of the company. They reconnect and find that they still enjoy each other's company. Kyle is being pressured to date and marry by his mother. He hatches a plan where he will fake date Laina since they have chemistry anyway. Unfortunately, his mother is opposed to Laina and doesn't hesitate to tell Kyle all about it. Will he stand up to his family when he realizes that he would like the relationship to be more than fake? Will the whole plan backfire and end in disaster?
I loved this book and how Kyle grew throughout the story to make his own decisions and do what he wanted. Laina was a really sweet girl and went along with the plan, likely hoping it would turn into something real, even though she never really expressed that.
If I didn't have adult things I'm under obligation to do, I would have read this straight through the night. What a great read and I adore Laina and Kyle's relationship! I'm not usually a friend to lovers trope reader, but this just gave you all the feel good vibes of people who are truly meant to be together. Though at one point I wanted to shake Kyle and tell him to fess up about his true feelings for Laina before he loses her in this fake dating plan of his!! I also really liked Kyle's growth in this story - that he stood up to his parents for someone he truly cares about and that there was the acceptance in the end by his parents of someone who truly makes him happy.

This was a very sweet book. It held my attention from the first page. It was well written, the characters were relatable and the chemistry was good.
I loved how it was a second chance romance and that two best friends who had to part when they were younger found their way back to each other. I loved that their attraction to each other was still there and that they both gave it their all. I do think that Laina was a little immature when it came to the conflict and could have just expressed her feelings, but I’m glad it all worked out.
This is the first time reading a book by this author, but I will be reading more.
The author has done a great job of creating such an awesome read. Laina has just landed her dream job & finds out that her new boss is her childhood best friend Kyle whom she crushed on. Kyle is being pressured by his mum to marry so to deter her he suggests to Laina they fake date . That fake dating starts them down a path that they can't turn back from. The line between fake & real is becoming awfully blurry. Laina wants a real chance with Kyle but does he feel the same way. Will a childhood friendship be destroyed? Worth more than 5 stars.

This was a good story. I was a little frustrated that the H wouldn’t stand up to his mother, that he let her constantly set up dates he didn’t want to go on. It was nice when he finally did stand up to her. His fear of losing the h made him realize his mistakes. Safe. Minor om/ow drama. H and h both had lovers in the past and both had been celibate for a while. H went on several dates with women his mom set him up with after he was reunited with the h. Nothing happened on those dates. h goes on a date with a co worker but she tells him she just wants to be friends. Both see each other on dates and get jealous. No abuse.
This is my first book by Jessi Jade that I have read and I have enjoyed this story. This is a bit of friends to lovers story. The characters were great and funny and it keeps you focused on the story. Besides the romance and passion, there are also moments that were funny and made you laugh. This book is highly recommended and I will definitely read more of Ms Jade and I am curious if her other books are also entertaining to read.

Laina and Kyle were friends when they were young. Kyle’s family moved away and they thought they would not see each other again. Laina gets a job in a new town and Kyle happens to be her new boss.
Kyle is having problems with his Mom trying to set him up with women she thinks is good for him. He ask Laina to pretend to be his fiancé so his Mom will back off. WhT starts out as a fake engagement turns real and they are blue to get their HEA
This book was good. The couple was cute in the beginning. I am not the biggest fan of the miscommunication trope so that plot line annoyed me. I also didn’t like how quick at the end they made up. Like they immediately got together for real and it needed more emphasis for me. I also didn’t like the the epilogue didn’t really go into the wedding. There wasn’t enough details. Overall it was an average book. Pretty entertaining. 3/5
Best friends make for wonderful partners. Laina and Kyle have to find their way back to each other through all the mishaps that go along with medling parents. Sometimes things have to fall apart to get put back together in the most spectacular of ways! Happy Endings and happy ever afters are bittersweet.
The reader can't help but root for Laina from the very start of this book. They have a wonderfully sweet backstory. They are the perfect parts of history, friendship and Love at its finest. It might have started with the plan to thwart his matchmaking mother but it was always true love but fear made them second guess it. Great book with sweet characters even some of the snobby ones.
When Kyle needs his bff Laina help to get his mother to back off with her ideal woman. She says yes to fake dating him. But when mom doesn’t approve they take it a step further, when they get fake engage. But feels are already there, now can they get past everything standing in their way and find their HEA.
Best friends reunited unexpectedly after years apart. Kyle and Laina begin their relationship as if it never ended. Helping Kyle is an easy choice for Laina but lines become blurred. Their relationship is changing and racing forward. Neither knows how the other truly feels, will heartache be the outcome?.

The main characters were wonderful and so believable! Laina was so sweet and loveable. I was so glad when she and Kyle reunited! Kyle was a very special guy with a great attitude and approach to life. His parents' attitude was sad, but they finally began acting as loving parents should at the end of the story. It was a great read; I would recommend it.
Such a sweet romance story. I love that Kyle and Laina were childhood best friends and they got to reconnect with eachother. Their chemistry is amazing definitely after like 15 years of not being in eachothers lives.
I just couldn't get into this book. The writing seemed a little lackluster. Professionals won't speak as casually as they do in this book. All their personalities just meshed into one. Every character seemed to be upbeat and happy to the point of not having any of their own personality.
