Tenebris—the monster who killed my parents, violated my mind, and destroyed my coven sister Callie—has gone into deep hiding. I won’t rest until I find him and personally take him down.
Luckily the vampires have a bead on him, and they want me along for the demon-hunting ride. But with his brand new skinsuit and the magic amulet he stole from a witch, Tenebris is more powerful than ever. I’m not dumb enough to go up against my mortal enemy without the Coven of Fire at my side. The vampires, however, flat-out refuse to let my “non-traditional” coven in on the job. It seems that no one in the magicborn community respects us, no matter how many lives we save or how many sacrifices we make.
Callie was one sacrifice too many.
So screw the vampires. Forget working within a system that won’t accept us. Matt, Asher, Liv, and I may be misfits, but we’re a coven. And our coven is not complete without Callie. Somehow, we’ve got to track her down and find a way to save her. Then, we’re going to avenge our loved ones and take down Tenebris once and for all... but we’ll do it as a coven. As a family. One witch for all and all for one, no magicborn left behind.
Spelldrift: Coven of Fire is a 5-book series that you will enjoy more if you read it in order: Book 1: Rise Book 2: Ignite Book 3: Rage Book 4: Blaze Book 5: Inferno
I live for magic. Modern magic, infused with heart and humor. Sometimes with an edge. Always with bright romantic sparks.
When I’m not spinning urban fantasy tales, you can find me flying after my 6-year-old witchling, cackling with my coven, or savoring a book while cuddled up with my cat familiar and, of course, coffee.
This series just keeps getting stronger and more powerful with each read. Still on the hunt for her sister Callie the covenant members deal with battle after battle, ridicule and so much more as they continue to try and catch Tenebris and recover their members. And yes by the time it's over they wont just be recovering Callie. There is a lot going on but merely giving loads of information that is needed to understand what's going on but it isn't boring by any stretch of the imagination, nope every minute reading is filled with action and mayhem, questioning of skills and abilities, and of course by the time it's over they are banged up and healing.
I love the way this story is going and love the characters too. This is why I love series, it gives time to meet and get to know and fall in love with the characters. This author has introduced them in a way that makes them a part of your heart and you are now completely and thoroughly invested in their success.
Tenebris has gone into deep hiding and Alix and her coven are determined to find him. They want to destroy him and all he stands for all the while risking everything to save their coven sister Callie with a procedure/spell that has never been successful.
The vampires want to be in charge of the Tenebris operation because they feel they are the only ones who could possibly capture and destroy him. The amulet that Tenebris now possesses makes him more powerful than ever and it’s going to take all the vampires, the coven and anyone else who is willing to walk into a suicide mission to find and stop him.
This is one fantastic series! A misfit coven that is detested by anyone in power but is still willing to risk their lives to save the magic born community. Tenebris is like the energizer bunny and just won’t quit making him a force to be reckoned with. Look for the final book in the series, Inferno sometime this Spring!
I adore this series. It just keeps getting better with every book and does not disappoint. They always find each other and the search for the cadis just keeps getting within their reach only to slip through. But at least they get their sister back. The only bad part though is there is no news on the next book. The author website is down and when you got to the publishing facebook page or website, they wont respond when you ask them. Even the authors twitter is unresponsive. So don’t get your hopes up for a new book anytime soon.
I loved every minute of this series and I look forward to reading book 5!!! I read these all so fast I couldn’t put them down. So happy Callie is back and Matt finally made a move in the right direction.
