Christopher Chant is a successful writer on modern military matters, and has a substantial number of authoritative titles to his credit. Military history, and the history of military aviation in particular have long been his passion. Having been part of the editorial team on Purnell's best-selling 'History of the First World War' and 'History of the Second World War', he became a full-time writer and editor in 1974, working extensively on military and aviation subjects. He is also a regular contributor to specialist journals.
This book is very different from the other ones that I read this year. I know that most people would say that it's a picture book, and doesn't count, but actually about half of each page is writing. And these pages are gigantic too. They're about the size of two A4 (standard printer paper) pieces of paper. The pages are also sqaures and not rectangles. But enough about the paper. It is a cool book, and it is so much better then an average book about castles, because you can actually see what bthat castle looked like. It's great.
One of my favorite "coffee table" books. This large hardback has hundreds of pictures of some of the best castles throughout the world. A must have for any castle lover.
