In the kingdom of Cinder Falls, a Fae princess cannot become queen until she chooses a mate…
The masquerade ball is Tallulah’s last chance to find a husband. If she fails, her worst nightmare will come true… One will be chosen for her.
After a wicked encounter with a seductive stranger, Tallulah thinks she’s found her match. But the masked man flees at the stroke of midnight, leaving her with only the cuff links he dropped, engraved with his family’s sigil.
When Tallulah tracks down his estate, she finds not one, but three devilish Fae brothers—Ramsay, Bronte, and Shadow, all claiming to be the one who defiled her.
Their games are vile, brutal, and depraved… but she can’t resist playing.
Why should a future queen choose just one king when she could have three?

Tallulah is a princess, and accordingly to the kingdom rules, she can not be queen without a man. Her father, with the pressure of her evil stepmother, throws a masquerade ball so she can be married. This is a Cinderella retelling, but with reverse harem.
At the ball, she meets a handsome stranger, but he disappears without revealing his identity. Letting behind his cuff links with his family crest. Tallulah is determined to marry him, so she goes after him.
When she gets there, she's not only find her handsome stranger, but they're three of them. They help her find her magic, so she can be queen.
Quick little spicy read. Think Cinderella but totally reversed with three brooding men. I loved how dark and wicked it was. The spin that was put on this - totally awesome. Loved it.
Ummmmm okay listen I love smut and dark romance is always a win for me but I cannot ever get behind or support incest…. When it said brothers I was expecting them to fight over her and her taking each of them for a ride but NOT AT THE SAME TIME!!!!!
I had to pretend they were “brothers” like besties lol and not actual brothers because the whole thing felt so icky. Once I started thinking of them as a friend group the spicy scenes started to hit. The amount of slut shamming was weird for me, sure sometimes it can work in dark romance but it felt out of place. Pick a trope please! Especially when they are “training” her on what to do, like why shame her for what you are telling her to do? Also men shame enough in the real world like no thank you
The plot was very confusing and disjointed, too much going on for a short smut book. What’s the point of them being fae? The kingdom rules? I don’t get it at all just do the smut please and keep the plot simple
Overall It was very spicy and very demeaning at points which kinda slapped tbh. But the incest and slut shamming ruined it for me. 3 stars just for the spice
The whole slut-shaming thing didn't do it for me. Also, the whole Fae thing was there but was not incorporated properly, they might as well be from Middletown going to Middle College 🤷🏼♀️
It could have been so much, yet it was nothing special for me.
The best part would be the Grand Ball at the beginning and the 3 first encounters.
This book was floating around my tiktok and I needed a short and fast paced read so let’s chat about it. 😉

Okay so I’m gonna be honest with this read. It was okay. Not my favorite, but kept my mind busy none the less and upped my book count. However also makes me sad, because I enjoy this author and this one just felt flat. I wish there was more of a plot in this one, because then I would have truly enjoyed it. That being said, the spice in this. 🥵 Like my goodness. This is why I finished it. This is a one handed read if you catch my drift lol! The spice saved this story for me. All around a solid read but would probably not re-read.
She did it again!!! M Violet is such an amazing writer. Seriously. She writes with such passion that you get sucked in to the story like a vacuum.
This story takes place with the princess being treated like utter crap by her step mother. After her mother died giving birth to her, her father didnt pay her much mind anymore. She thinks because he blames her for her mothers death. He married 5 years later to this vile woman who could care less about anyone but herself.
The Queen is demanding that she "choose" her mate. But the princess knew it was just a guise. The Queen threw a ball with all the eligible bachelors so that the princess may choose. At the ball she met 3 mysterious men. Who she didnt know where 3 men until later on. She was shocked to say the least.
For 3 days she was at their house. Being ravished, worshipped, loved, tended to, sexed. She couldnt believe that they had brought all of this kink out of her.-She after all was a virgin with no experience. But they changed all of that...
The story is amazing. Its an take on Cinderella. Its not like any other take on Cinderella Ive ever read.
Another smutty short read that I love to space in between my emotionally heavy ones. Again, as I am finding with M Violet, her books mostly smut with a little plot on the side. This one is about 65 smut/35 plot. It is a Cinderella retelling with a wicked stepmom and cuff links that are the “glass slipper”. But I am more than ok with that. Do not read this book if you are not okay with that. Shadow, Brontë, and Ramsey might have replaced Grimm, Poe, and Saint for me. Scratch that I’ll take them all.
From a masked ball to a dark mansion, M Violet takes us on a journey through the dark fae court of Cinder Falls. The story follows Tallulah as she steps out of her comfort zone to not only find acceptance and healing but love as well in this why choose dark romance. I enjoyed every line of this book but definitely check your triggers with this one, your in for a rough ride 😉
Wicked Midnight by M Violet is a dark romance retelling of Cinderella novella.
This is the third book of M Violet's that I have read, and it definitely won't be my last. I was pulled in from the first chapter and couldn't wait to see what was going to happen next. I loved the chemistry between Tallulah, Ramsay, Bronte, and Shadow.
I would highly recommend this book if you like dark romances, why choose romances, or erotic romances.
Wow... absolutely loved this novella ... RH at its best , love the retelling of Cinderella with a dark twist. Need a quick fix... this is the book for you
Cinderella but the roles are completely reversed! Loved the bond between Shadow, Ramsey, Bronte and Talhulla sm! The plot and writing were great with the spice being spicy asf! A great read!
*Received an ARC in exchange for an honest review* This is a dark romance Cinderella retelling with so much spice I was a puddle by the end of the book. Not only did it have amazing spice but I absolutely loved the story line, the characters, the push and pull, the banter. Shadow was hands down my favorite out of the three brothers. I enjoyed this book thoroughly that I finished it in one sitting. It keeps you captivated, and I really love M. Violets writing style. Ugh literally everything about this book was phenomenal. One of my top 10 reads this year hands down.
This is a why choose gender bend retelling of Cinderella with fae and magic.
This is a novella full of spice & plot!
You have Tallulah, the princess who must find a man to marry before her stepmother & father pick for her. At her ball she meets a mysterious man who drops his cuff link. She goes to find him and learns that there are 3 brothers, Ramsay, Bronte and Shadow. Which one dropped the cuff link??
This is a story about admitting who you are, what you want and like and most importantly finding yourself! Oh mix in some love and hot sexy scenes!!
Please check all trigger and content warnings!!
I got an ARC copy and this is my true & honest review
I was very lucky to receive an ARC copy of this book!
My oh my! M Violet has out did herself!! I thought good girl was spicy and smutty this one is beyond that!!
The fact that they all shared from the beginning and wanted it that way made me love it so much more, there was no animosity between any of the guys.
I don't have a fav but shadow is def my first I would pick! He is so primal and such an animal I love it.
The step mother was such an asshole. I was soo over her shit. I hate when fathers standby and allow the step mother/parent be an asshole and rude to the children. When it finally came full circle and the father owned up to it. It made it better.
I honestly loved lady George. She was awesome!!! I loved how she was with the boys and with their tulip. The fact that she was so accepting and cared for them was truly touching. She was the Angel sitting on their shoulder being their guide. Her knowledge of the old laws is wat saved them more from further harm then they expected.
They were a United front when they went and took on her parents.
My fav part was when her dark magic surfaced!! I was like yaaass best ur step mother lmao!!! But honestly it was fucking awesome that she was able to get her dark power and that the boys knew wat they were doin with her and helpin her embrace herself.
U will fall in love with this story!! I def recommend reading this book!! It was truly a awesome journey!!!

Overall, I did enjoy the read. There were just a few things that I decided were not for me. Not triggers but more of hygiene ick factors in Steamy scenes.
I have found that M Violets' reoccurring theme in the books I have read are steam with a side of story/romance. One thing I desired more of was the story. At one point, it felt like a page or paragraph may have been missing because it insinuated the help returning at supper, but then the help is not mentioned until breakfast the following day. The Steamy scenes that make up the majority of the book were great. I have found that I do not like food play when it comes to private parts. Women's bodies will not accept that well and all I can think is infection, coming from a medical background. I know, I'm overthinking it. I try my best not to. I personally just see so much potential in the storyline.
As always, my heat rating is not based on how well the scenes were written. My heat rating is based on how often/occurrence, length, and how dirty/unconventional. This is a Why Choose with 3 males and 1 female. There is knife/blood play, food play, object play, and degradation. The scenes are lengthy and often. This all earns this novella a 5/5 on the heat scale.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
I loved this book from start to finish. Its a dark why choose fantasy romance, a retelling of cinderella and it's absolutely my favorite. It's hard for me to describe with words how much i love this book. The way these charachters evolve alone and with eachother is just everything.
Tallulah is the princess if Cinder falls and she grew up feeling all alone because of her evil step mother. She didn't grew up with love in her life only pain from a very young age. She's supposed to find a husband and her parents the king and queen are forcing her hand, or she finds someone herself in a week or they will choose for her. She doesn't want a lovesless marriage so when the ball comes around it is her only opportunity to find someone. When she finally meets someone who brings her a spark, she just can't let go.
I love a morally grey charachter, this book has a light grey, grey and dark grey charachter and oh god, it gives us the greatest scenes of how everyone is different and yet the same to. These lords had me in a chockhold and Shadow had my heart. I didn't want to stop reading, hated that i had to go to sleep and go to work. I love M Violet's writing. I absolutely adore her books.
I received this as an arc and i willingly leave this review.
(Mild spoilers) Whew.. where do I start? If you like women getting defiled this is the book for you! First, I want to say that this book could have been really good considering it was supposed to be a “Cinderella retelling”. The storyline could’ve gone anywhere!! However; it fell completely flat for me. I wanted to DNF within the first 5 chapters but pushed through. There was barely a plot (all hardcore smut). Hardly any character development and the use of vocabulary to detail “spicy” scenes was borderline obscene. I do not have triggers and can read pitch black books, but this had me cringing about 90% of the book. I must have read the word “nub” at least 20 times. The words “sopping wet” “whore” “defiling” were just a few of the words used. And mind you… this is a novella! Only 150 pages long! I’ve heard great things about this author and her other books so to say I was disappointed is clearly an understatement. The only reason I could even give it two stars is I loved the idea of a Cinderella Retelling. I would love for this author to give it another go. I really do think this is a great concept… but take it another direction. Help us get to know the characters vs immediate smut.

Wicked Midnight is a dark twisted and spicy retelling of Cinderella. The princess was mistreated and used as a pawn by her Queen stepmother until one night at a ball that was thrown for the princess to find her future husband & King of Cinder Falls, it turned into a night that will change her life forever. The princess always played by the rules, that was until she met this mysterious man but with every encounter they had he seemed a bit different every time. Like another person, but the heat that it stirred in her was all the same, and those lustful eyes were the same, so how could be it someone else if not the same man?…..or so she thought!
This book takes you on an adventure of a princess finding her strength to overcome her fears, and to take what she wants and OWN IT! Just like how she was taken, devoured, worshipped, tortured, praised, humiliated, and accepted!!!
Discover a new world, into Tallulah! Oh and make sure to keep an extra pair of panties next to you as well as a towel under you! Because it is HOT!!!
Please check out other books by this amazing author! Good Girl is another favorite & also just as delicious as this book.
Wowza! This Cinderella retelling took me on a wild ride! The spice started almost instantly & I was HOOKED! M Violet had me at masked man.. but no it didn’t stop there! Not one, not two, but THREE mysterious dark green eyed brothers who btw have loved the MFC (Princess) since they were young & waited for her. SWOON! The writing beautifully flows so well that it pulled me into the story like I was a fly on the wall, jealously watching everything unfold between all four of them. This is a deliciously sweet spicy novella that I could not put down. It gave me goosebumps, tears in my eyes, & the need for a cold shower all at the same time. Yes, there’s lots of good spice (always read your TW) but the actual story was just as amazing. The MFC coming into herself & being this delicate flower turned strong soon to be queen. Watching her grow was half the excitement. Hands down one of my favorite Why Choose? reads of 2022.
All three men were lovely in their own ways but… Team Shadow :)
Plot 5/5 Spice 10/5 Chefs Kiss

As the future Queen of Cinder Falls, Tallulah must choose her mate or one will be chosen for her by her cruel stepmother. When she meets a mysterious fae at her betrothal ball, we find that there is more than meets the eye and learn that Tallulah may have bitten off more than she can chew, when the Lords of House Frost turn her world upside down.
Wicked Midnight is a nefarious dark romance filled with lewd and beguiling fae. M Violet took Cinderella, and made it her own with Tallulah, Bronte, Ramsay, and Shadow. This fast-burn, why choose novella sucks you in and makes you want to learn more about Princess Tallulah and the Lords of House Frost.
I have read another book by this author and loved it! This was her 1st book I believe and you can tell. The concept of the story was the only interesting part. The whole book felt like it was a 1st draft outline for a bigger better story. The amount of cringy writing and eyerolling I did. I really wanted to like this book.
And my gosh- she was just like I’m gonna throw all the romantasy tropes in there and not even build up to them or make them make sense- just gonna be like yup- here’s another and another and another- all out of the blue…that’s the way it is folks- no explanations needed. And the word choices 😖 for example: sopping wet folds and the use of nub to describe the woman’s c!it…. A LOT. Just nooo… 🫣😩
There was so much potential with the concept of the dark Cinderella retelling and RH aspects, but it needed to be developed way more before being printed IMO.
I do want to say- I still like the author, but I would recommend a different book of hers!
Amazing fairytale retelling that will have you clutching your pearls and clenching your thighs. M. Violet has wrecked me for all fairytale stories. Starting now I only want the adult versions that take a turn down the dark and depraved path.
Wicked Midnight is a creative re-imagining of Cinderella with all the side characters you love to hate. As well as three beautiful, mysterious, green-eyed men who are determined to help Tallulah find her inner strength, and become the confident queen she is meant to be.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The writing style flowed smoothly, the plot had an interesting take on the Cinderella story and the characters all had distinct captivating personalities. The spice level was delicious, including some BDSM scenes that were explosive. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes an erotic fairytale retelling.
I look forward to reading more books by this author and am anxiously awaiting a full-length novel.
I was given an ARC copy of Wicked Midnight and this is my honest review.
**WARNING: This review may contain spoilers.**
Oh. My. Gods. She did it again! M Violet has yet to disappoint me when it comes to spicy books and once again, I am absolutely blown away. I'm not sure if I need a cold shower, therapy, someone to absolutely ravage me or all of the above. When I tell you I am shooketh. I absolutely cannot wait for everyone else to read this book and I will forever be recommending it to anyone who is a lover of dark romance.
Tallulah is a fae princess and heir to the throne of Cinder Falls. She has grown up feeling unloved and alone due to the abuse of her father, the king and her wicked step mother, the queen. Cinder Falls would never allow a queen to rule without a king by their side, so Tallulah is given an ultimatum by the king and queen of finding a husband of her own choosing within a week or a husband being chosen by her parents. She doesn't want to be stuck in a loveless, boring marriage, so Tallulah is hoping to find her soulmate at the upcoming ball. At the ball Tallulah meets three sexy, mysterious, green eyed strangers, although at the time, she doesn't realize that there are three different men. These men, in the short time that she spends with them, make her feel things that she has never felt. When they flee the castle at midnight, all that's left behind is a cuff link. Tallulah immediately decides that she must find these men and make them her husbands and leaves Cinder Falls to find them. When she succeeds, Tallulah spends the next few days being ravished by the men, each one helping lead her on a path of self discovery and healing. She decides to travel back to her kingdom to claim them as her own. I won't ruin what happens next for those that haven't read Wicked Midnight yet but I will say, if you're a fan of dark, fantasy romance you MUST read this book! The ending was the happiest ending and was everything I expected and more.
Wicked Midnight was an amazingly different take on Cinderella that is also a story of self discovery, healing and love but also a dirty, filthy, smutty read. It was absolutely delectable and I was so sad to see it end. I loved Tallulah's character and felt so bad for the way her step mother and father treated her. She had a horribly traumatic past and felt guilty for those events but it was absolutely beautiful when she finally accepted that the past wasn't her fault and was finally able to heal with the help of her soul mates.I loved it even more that she bested her evil, bitch of a step mother as well. If I'm being completely honest, at one point in the book, I cried like a baby but in a good way. Wicked Midnight was a perfect novella filled with so many yummy, smutty scenes. I highly recommend this to lovers of all things spicy and dark.
One hot Cinderella retelling with a twist! If you like a short read with 3 possessive men, touch her and d!e vibes, fairy tales, magic and different inks then this is a book you need to read! M. Violet is over here killing it with these spicy dark romance books! This book is about a young girl with a past that haunts her and an evil stepmother that is giving her 1 week to pick her husband. Tallulah has never had any control over her life. This is the only thing she can control...for the most part. After the ball she thinks she may have found the man she has been looking for.... or should we say men. Three husbands are better than one, right?
"We share everything. And now we are going to share you."
She does it again!!! This author is amazing! 🌶🌶🌶🌶🌶 Tallulah comes such a long way from being a scared a girl always being told what to do and how to act into standing up for herself and go after what she wants. I feel that it's so hard to get all the world building and a full story into a book but this author does it in a short read and it was brilliant! And all the spice was so good, the relationship between the FMC and the Frost dudes is just so good. They get her to finally realize what shes worth and do everythingthey can to make sure she knows it. When they all first meet 🥵🥵🥵! Love this book, cannot wait to see what else this author writes!
( I would love to see all the Frost boys and their reactions to when the girls start dating 🤣🤣 especially Shadow!!)

Wicked Midnight is a dark and twisted retelling of Cinderella. This is a reverse harem novella. Make sure to check the trigger warning.
I am so in love with M Violet and her writing!!
Tallulah is a fae princess that gets abused by her father and has a truly wicked stepmother. Since she is heir to the throne, her father tells her that she has to find a man to marry in a week or they chose one for her. The ball is her chance to find a connection, and she sure does! When the 3 men leave the ball at midnight, all she has to find them is a cufflink, but she won't stop until she finds them.
You guys NEED to read this!! It's amazing! I don't wanna give anything away, just go read this novella ASAP!!!
