If you haven't read the previous books, STOP, go back and read them. This series contains ongoing story lines.

At the end of the last book, Nissa helps Kinsley out, but she has an ulterior motive and Gavin's daughter, Briar, shows up on Kinsley's doorstep, saying her mother sent her. She was staying with her grandmother.

As this book opens, Kinsley wakes with a chill and a feeling something is wrong. Hearing something outside her window she opens and sees a figure running into the woods. Turning to her bedroom door, she slowly opens it and sees something in the shadows of the hallway. Then filled the doorway, she threw a vase, and the intruder ran away.

Meri hearing the vase break runs up the stairs to join her. Thinking of the figure running into the woods they head out to investigate and have an encounter with a fae.

The next morning has Viv recounting an experience she had with a ghost the previous night, followed by Adi joining them with the same experience only in her shop a few minutes ago.

Meri and Kinsley investigate and find a ring. Kinsley uses the ring to summon the ghost and finds out who she is, Emily Conrad and when she died, 2008. She also tells her to stop with the violence and she will find and bring the murderer to justice.

She begins her investigation, but before she gets very far, she did however find out where the ex-boyfriend's cabin is.

Dorian is attacked by Emily's ghost next and shows up at her home before breakfast and lured by the story joins Kinsley on her visit to the cabin. The current owner David Brown informs them he has some of her belongings that were there when he moved in and invites them in for coffee.

Investigating the contents of Emily's phone brings more leads but still dead ends.

Big trouble for Kinsley with Nissa that involves Briar. More leads on Emily that finally start to lead somewhere.

Family fun as they replant the gardens, intrigue with the ghost, Meri and Bonkers always causing laughs and plenty of surprises as this book winds to its conclusion.

Entertaining and slightly dark paranormal cozy mystery series

This is an entertaining and slightly dark paranormal cozy mystery series. A great cast of characters and a great storyline. Kinsley is a witch and a powerful line of witches. This series is based on her and her adventures. It is a spinoff of a series that had the adventures of her mother and her familiar a cat name Mary. That particular familiar is also Kinsley and her daughters familiar. Is the cat is a mortal and cannot die. once again Kinsley and her Kevin are battling against a warlock family that is trying to distract the magic in their town. There are also other issues going on that you will find out as soon as you start reading. Twist interns an adventure endangered every corner. Read on and see where Kinsley and Mary and the crew find themselves this time. Check it out

This book was slightly disappointing. The mystery just wasn't there for me. And the people who were involved were kind of all over the place. Like bringing old characters back for a split second only to have them disappear again immediately after. It almost felt like the author is now bored writing the series, but keeps on going because they think it's what readers want. And I would love for the series to continue, but only if the story is good. The best part and worst part of the book was the end. Cliffhanger. I'm going to read the next installment because I need to know what happens. I just pray that it is a good one.

Nice story, but ----
Witches, ghosts, familiars, murder. all part of a very good story. My problem is that there are careless, stupid typos in every book. I tried to send a message to the author and the publisher so they can correct the problem.
I read on my Kindle and use the highlight feature to report issues. For some reason, I don't have much faith in that process.
I have read 19 of the 40 some books. I am eager to finish one without typos or another annoyance, repetitive adjectives.
If poor grammar and punctuation don't bother you, definitely a good book.

Emily, an angry and violent ghost, wants her murder solved NOW! She is attacking and hurting people to show her frustration. And Kinsley's powers are still weakened--it turns out--because of the warlock magic of Nissa!

This cold-case poltergeist is choosing her victims carefully. But how will Kinsley find the killer without any clues?

It's a much more complex story than normal, and the plot thickens...

Things Are Getting Serious!

A man is framed for a murder. A ghost takes revenge. Worst of all, someone evil has Meri! What is happening in Coventry? I hope book 20 explains!.

This book kept me "on the edge of my seat", so to speak. Again, great writing and lots of surprises. Can't believe how each book just gets better!

Ribbon

Kinsley has a ghost and a warlock to deal with. Both are putting children in danger. Kinsley and Thorn just won’t abide by this. It takes some digging, but she gets one of the two resolved. Did she choose correctly?

Suspenseful

This may have been one of the best in the series. More cliffhanging. Less time in the kitchen
