They lied. Played me in a way I wasn’t expecting at all.
I made a mistake in trusting them, and that wouldn’t be happening again. If I could, I’d be far away from Ridgewood and the three men who crushed me in ways I didn’t think possible.
But I’m not that lucky. Once again, I need them. This time I refuse to let them fill the cracks in my heart. They’re nothing but a step closer to my freedom. They want me here with them, but if they try to keep me, it’ll be a decision they regret.
*Endgame is the second book in the Sapphire Duet. Book one, Runner, needs to be read first. This is an enemies to lovers dark romance with dark themes. This duet is interconnected to my Suncrest Bay series. Each can be read independently, but there are crossover characters.*
Kay Riley writes dark contemporary and paranormal romance. She loves writing feisty, strong heroines, and keeps things interesting with unexpected twists. Kay grew up in the Midwest but has lived in some amazing places, including Japan. When she's not writing, she is spending time with her husband and kids. She loves cats, coffee, reading, and her guilty pleasure is watching reality shows.
Despite Mili (the FMC), I ended up liking this duet overall. It started to pick up and then had a solid ending. I still think I liked the Suncrest Bay trilogy more because I think the characters were a little better developed in that series, but I'm glad I pushed through on this duet and finished it. There was some good closure. The writing was good. As someone who knows next to nothing about cars, this was generally easy to follow. I just wish the characters were polished a bit more. Kade and Grey's chapters blended for me; there was some differentiation between them but not enough imo. Mili was supposed to be this badass FMC, but she literally fell into every single trap possible. She was all bark and very little bite.
Thank you to my GR friend for the recommendation!! __________________ Ok, now that I've given this a few days, I'm picking it back up again. It's bothering me that I didn't finish the duet. __________________ DNF (for now) at 14% because the "strong" FMC is a doormat. I usually never DNF this early in a book, but this duet is making me so angry tonight. These men betrayed Mili, and so she's all like "I will never be with you again" (rightfully so), and yet, Mili has already replaced Kade's priceless car that she destroyed (the 1 time she actually got justifiable revenge, and she is retracting it...) and is already having sex with Kade. I'm sorry, but Kade/Rylan/Gray don't deserve anything, girl. I'm embarrassed for Mili. There has been 0 groveling, and Mili is already rolling over on her back and asking for a belly-rub (metaphorically speaking).
Also, I searched Vee's name, and her name alone is mentioned in this book at least 123 times. I really loved the Suncrest Bay trilogy, but I really hate this cross-over. Why can't we let completed series lie? Why can't we let stupid Mili and her men have their own story?
Oh my gosh, what a book! Endgame is the second book in the Sapphire Duet series. Endgame was a fast-paced, dark romance book. The characters in this book are amazing. Mili is a strong and independent female character who refuses to give up. Gray, Kade, and Rylan are protective and these three are exactly the people Mili needs. These three men are able to help control Mili and make sure that she is safe. I love the way that Mili is able to work with Gray, Kade, and Rylan and is able to eventually able to forgive them. I am still saddened and disappointed that this series is over. Kay Riley did not disappoint with this book. I really enjoyed reading this book. I recommend reading the trigger warnings before reading this book. The trigger warnings include assault, murder, and fertility issues.
the start of this book irked me because why did these random people kidnap her while she was running for her life. such bad timing i can’t even make this up.
i found this book kind of repetitive and i got extremely sick of gray early on. he only wanted one thing fr. kade definitely redeemed himself in this book. he is so cute with that wooden spatula ❤️that baking lesson had me all hot and bothered. i genuinely thing i annotated three full pages of him baking lava cake. rylan was still amazing in this book. he is such a cutie.
i really liked mili in this book and her growth. though i loved her baddie era, it was really nice to see her put her walls down and let the guys in. she always stood up for them even when they didn’t ask for it. her keeping kade’s jaguar safe all along had me tearing up. the fact that she put aside her anger to protect his dads legacy. her and caleb’s relationship was my favourite thing ever. i was getting so worked up at the start when caleb was captured.
my only downside was the fact that the guys have zero loyalties to each other, apart from ry. i found it quite unrealistic that kade and gray’s best friend got kidnapped by a serial killer and they were only worried about mili’s well being. the lack of respect on rylans name in that moment was infuriating to the point that if mili didn’t save him, i would of had to taken it into my own hands. reason #87 why rylan is the best mmc. i can tell you now that rylan would of saved either of them in a heartbeat. those guys were breaking rule number one in the love triangle handbook. just because you put a girl before your own life doesn’t mean you should put her before your bestfriends!!!!
this series was definitely a five stars but i enjoyed the first book slightly more.
The way she made them work for it. It was glorious watching these gorgeous, possessive, alpha males groveling. She has them wrapped around her finger, and I'm here for it.
What can I say about her? She's stunning, she always has been and always will be. I love her conviction, confidence and resilience. She won't be cowed in a corner, she will fight and help her men, even when it means facing her deepest fears.
This book is an amazing and fast-paced finale. The emotions are high, the stakes are higher, and the steaminess is out of this world.
On another note, I believe in my heart Vee and Mili are soul-sisters and no one can convince me otherwise.
Would recommend for a thrilling, dark-ish (not overly graphic), smutty, aggravating read. Would absolutely reread but did prefer book one slightly over book two.
The conclusion of this duet was well executed and defined with their future would look like.
The men did not grovel enough before Mili gave back into them. Like at all. It was just we want you, don’t leave, we will follow you. Kade and Gray blended into each other a lot, and I often found myself mid chapter thinking “wait, whose point of view is this from again?”. The pacing wasn’t extremely off kilter but worked more seamlessly in book one.
I appreciated and understood Milis character even more in this second installment, with her trying to hard to let them in and work as a team with trust, but also, would immediately try and go solo and say no to them assisting or having to change up the plan. Which makes sense as this is her story to finish but was still frustrating when we’re near the end and her initial reaction is still to go in opposition of them, but she’s a flawed individual and it makes sense for her character. But also, they really did continue to try and push her and make decisions, a little too much where I was like, where is the groveling?? She needed to put them on their ass a few more times, even if it ends up being more playful.
I almost expected for there to be a last minute fake-out while saving Caleb’s sister, but I was glad it was actually her and they were able to have what they were working towards work out. I did wish for a bit more interactions with Caleb along with his and Rylans techy side. Caleb’s boyfriend was just there in the backdrop, which was honestly fine.
Which leads me to Joel. Damn, that was difficult to have him within arms reach so many times!! The darkness in me wanted his final moments to be drawn out without the level of time restraint that they had, but equally, it was probably best for Mili for it to just be a few words and goodbye. Although, while reading that scene, I was screaming at them to double tap his ass to ensure beyond any doubt he was really gone.
Ooof the mixed feelings about Liam. He was one of original people to try and help her or at least find her moments she could enjoy to make life worth living, but then he lost his own purpose once Mili escaped and Joel took it out on him. To see that person who you had some sort of twisted trust come after you?? He had his redemption in the end. I foresaw an alternative plot line of him switching teams and being able to walk away or join her side and earn her trust her follower. This and what actually occurred in the book are equally bittersweet and complex emotionally.
I didn’t absolutely love the smut scene which involved the contraption because although our fmc enjoyed it, it was immediately after discussing her hardstop boundary which has the background reasoning of not being able to see what’s going to happen… only for the angle she’s restricted to not allow her to see what’s happening or coming for her from behind her?? She could barely move her head. For that reason alone, I wasn’t fully on board, and wished she either had a different reasoning or they chose to try and break through that trust by discussing what they were going to be doing to try and almost work through her feelings? Idk. Lava cakes and ice cream sundae was crazzzy. I’m unbelievably happy that the author brought back the payback from book one, resulting in her cuffing Gray and leaving him behind. It genuinely made me smile and was a good way to push along the story towards the conclusion.
Grays storyline with his Dad was a surprising side plot that was short but effective. Pushed Mili to outwardly express her desire to stay and her affections towards Gray.
I think maybe having a Vic and Juan moment with Mili discussing the future with them accepting her for their boys might’ve also rounded out the character relationships but they really were background characters so it makes sense how their status was left. I mean, Juan was basically absent the whole damn time. Curious if he was cut out to make room for other characters and plot points.
Genuinely a great epilogue. Sometimes they don’t feel completed and make me wish for more, but I feel content that the story is done.
Quotes:
“You care,” I whispered, feeling her stiffen. “This proves it, you know.”
“I don’t want any other woman. There’s only one—even if she spends half her time plotting to kill me.”
The problem was, it was impossible to completely hide her aurora.
“He’s turning blue,” Kade said quietly from behind me. “Get what you need first.” “I know exactly what I’m doing,” I replied, keeping my hold tight a little longer before letting Jack breathe again. “Yes, you do, Rebel,” Gray said gruffly. “And you look hot as fuck doing it.”
“You get pissed at us for leaving crumbs, but Mili can have her bare ass on the counter?”
“I plan on staying in Gray’s life for a long time.
“How about we don’t kill anyone today, Little Hellion?” Oh, fuck. I twisted my head to the side, meeting Kade’s gaze.
“Just in case you actually prove me wrong and survive him,” he said between labored breaths. “You’re strong. So much stronger than me. I let this life swallow me whole. I can see now that you won’t let the same happen to you.”
dnf 43% through, started to feel repetitive. almost every chapter they’d have the same conversation, the FMC would say “i don’t trust y’all.” and one of the MMC would say “you love us, you want us, blah, blah.”
This is the second book of the Sapphire Duet. One woman with too many secrets and plenty of trust issues with a huge vendetta. Three men who will do anything to help her get what she wants. She needs them but doesn’t want them, but they will do anything to change her mind.
Enemies to Lovers Why Choose Romance Gang/MC Dark Romance (but not too dark) Fast cars Female empowerment
Kay Riley is an instant buy for me. If she writes it, I’ll read it. I love her writing style. Each of her series has secrets, lies, and betrayals. If you’re cheap like me and don’t have a Kindle Scribe, I recommend taking notes on a piece of paper to try and keep up with everything. But she doesn’t tell you everything all at once. You have to come up with your own theories and I love finding out how right or wrong I was about something. You find out bits and pieces of the truth over time until it all comes perfectly together at the end.
The fact that Mili’s first race ever was against Kade & Gray? Loved that so much. I loved the friendship between Kade, Gray, and Rylan. The moments she had with each guy: Kade’s car, Gray’s dad, and Rylan’s shower were probably my favorite parts of the book to read.
The fight scenes are extremely well written and detailed. I can see the scenes playing out in my head and I don’t have to reread it several times to figure out what’s going on and how it’s happening. That also includes the spicy scenes. 😉😊
The spice is top notch in this book. I will never eat lava cake again without thinking about this book. Holy 🥵
I loved the presence of the Suncrest Bay series characters and the little bits of their story that was mentioned throughout the book. Mili staying in the same room as Vee did, Ryker and Don’s daughter, Zak and the ketchup prank.
I will admit it was strange seeing Ky and Zak weary or afraid of someone else. This whole world started with Suncrest Bay and those characters seem larger than life to me, so seeing their bravado kinda falter in the presence of another gang was a little weird for me. Loved Vee sticking up for Mili and not forcing her to go somewhere she didn’t want. The friendship that transpired between not only Mili and Vee but the rest of the guys too was a huge added bonus.
There are hints at the end of the book of a possible new series about a gang-run college. And since the Riot Crew now owe the leader of this college gang a favor, I’m sure we will see Mili and her men again.
I was literally on the edge of my seat reading the climax of this series. But that’s nothing new with Kay’s books. The last chapter was absolute perfection. The easy banter between all 4 of them had me smiling so big.
The Suncrest Bay series will always be my favorite of Kay’s books, but this duet is a very close second.
>>> I am begging for a Zak and Cassie book. Like on my knees begging. 🤣 I’d also give anything for a Ky and Vee baby. I would love to see Ky, Zak, and Ryker be even more protective of a pregnant Vee. Constantly surrounding her and her putting them in their place when they tell her she can’t do something. And seeing Ky be a possessive daddy? Yes freakin please. <<<
Review: A huge thank you to Kay for allowing me to be apart of her ARC team and for the copy of this book! As you probably know by now Kay is an auto buy author for me. I absolutely love her writing style, the fast pace and action packed plots makes her books addictive and extremely hard to put down! I binged both Runner and Endgame within 4 days😅
Nobody come for me, but I think I prefer Endgame to Runner… while runner was a fantastic start to the series and provided lots of tension and funny moments; Endgame is packed with action and we get to delve deeper into Milli’s relationships with the boys and deeper into all their pasts. I loved that we got to watch their relationships evolve and understand all 4 of them better as individuals. Endgame also had a lot more drama! Where as Runner was skilfully named as Milli has a habit of running away; Endgame was full of murder and kidnapping plots, an off screen torture scene and a heart in your mouth heist.
I really felt like I started to understand Milli throughout Endgame, there were times in Runner where I was screaming at her but it started to make sense the more of endgame I read. Her constant inner battle and flashbacks were heartbreaking and she’s honestly the true definition of a self made boss woman🥹
My boys were honestly fire 🔥 they’re so determined to make Milli change her mind about them, I love how hard the work to prove to Milli they deserve her and she deserves them! We see completely different sides of them in this book and honestly just makes me love them more!🥹
Endgame is just as steamy, if not more so, as Runner and it’s top tear spice as well😍 As Endgame is a dark romance there are several content warnings including domestic abuse and mentions of child abuse, all content warnings can be found on Kay’s website.
For lovers of: - Reverse Harem / Why Choose Romance - Dark Romance - Who did this to you - I would k!ll for you - Enemies to lovers
Loved this duet! The twist at the end of book 1 where we find out Rylan’s role was so so good I was not expecting that and for the way they all made it up to her in book 2 was *chef’s kiss*
I really loved that Mili always stayed badass. Sometimes with these types of books the heroine will lose the fire we love so much, but nope! Heroine was badass through and through, but still had a softness to her when it came to the people she cared about. She made the guys work for it, but also knew when it was time to trust them and open up more.
I loved each of the three hero’s just as much! The way they had her back, but wanted to make sure she was safe.
Kade - the possessive jealous type. Didn’t care who the guy was, if they were even looking at her too long he would be pissed! Loved it so much, and when he found out Mili didn’t blow up his car ahhhh I loved that scene
Gray - they were all possessive but I felt like Gray was always having more fun with everything enjoying rhe games they played, and who got Mili to open up.. I felt like was always trying to smooth things over. When he found Mili threatening her dad and that she really cared.. swoooon
Rylan - I really loved Rylan! We thought he was the gentleman mayor in book 1, but book 2 we saw the real Rylan! I get why Mili was especially taken back about his “betrayal.” It hit me too! But man he made it up for it here.. held off on the physical until she understood how important she was to him.. and when Mili overhears him protecting her while being tortured ahhh.. I love how Mili didn’t think twice about jumping into the trunk of her enemy’s car to follow and save Rylan.
Really loved that we got at least one scene of Mili showing how much she cared for each guy and showed her softness to them..
Man I really loved this duet!!!! Never read anything by this author before but off I go to download more of their books!!
If I could give more stars I would in a heartbeat.
Once again, Kay Riley has left me speechless. I have been on a binge of all of her books since I stumbled upon runner and not a single word on any of the pages from cover to back has let me down. Not only is her writing style perfection, her fmc are top of the line strong, resilient, and ruthless. The mmc are possessive, alpha males that 💯 back their women in any situation knowing they are boss bi✨✨chs 😍
That being said, endgame was no different and such a page turner I finished in less than a day. This is a sports/ racing / fast and furious (dom and letty style) car heist vibes book with gangs, crews, and mcs.
This excelled every expectation I could have had for this book. My brain still won’t function. If you like your fmc ruthless and Loyal to fault and your mmc possessive enough to have touch her and 💀 vibes but willing to stand NEXT to her not in front of her, then this book is for you. Happy/ but sad because I still want more. I’m not ready to tell Kade gray and rylan bye 😥❤️ I seriously could not put the book down. This was the ending mili deserved. She deserved her happiness after everything she had been threw.
And when I say I squealed in the first 2-3 chapters when certain other characters showed up, I mean it 😂 that was a wonderful topper to the cake and the best opening to this book!
Mili is such a loyal, head strong female who is perfectly matched with 3 stubborn, alpha males. Kade, gray, and rylan are a perfect combo of traits to handle mili. And she is a lot to handle. Especially with her new bff 😂 Caleb finally getting his closure, and mili helping him get back his missing piece was a total extra happy ending 🥹
10/10 would totally read again and again.
⚠️ always check for tws before going into a book⚠️
Overall 5 for the duet, but slower pace in book 2 was an issue for me
Book 1 flowed so well that I was shocked when I reached the end. It was a unique storyline with shocking plot twists. But for me book 2 just didn't have the same flow and so I had to give it a 4. This one seemed to drag more and the dialogue/internal thoughts got repetitive at times. If it had kept the same pacing as book 1 it would have been a solid 5 star read. When I find myself constantly checking what percent I'm at while reading it means there is something not keeping me 100% invested in the story and in this case it was the having things feel very slow paced through most of the book. The last half of the book picked up the pace again, but it felt like it took forever to get to that point.
I loved the cross over with her other series (which I loved) and adored the bond between the two bad@** female characters. In fact I think the crossover interactions were some of my favorite scenes in the duet.
I will definitely never look at an ice cream sundae or a spatula the same way. I do wish some of the spicy scenes were a little shorter as I found myself just wishing they would hurry up so we could get back to the actual story, but that is a personal preference thing.
Would I recommend this duet... absolutely! The group dynamic was interesting and I loved the heroine of the story as she was definitely not a damsel in distress who waited around to be saved. Overall the duet gets a 5 star for characters and plot, it was just the pacing of book 2 that earned a 4 from me.
I’ve really been loving duets lately. They’re long enough to feel like you really know the characters yet not too long that they drag. This duet, was perfect.
End Game is the sequel to Runner and picks up right where that cliffhanger left us.
Where Milina was running from her past in book one, she’s facing a lot of it in this one. Mili’s resilience is unmatched. She’s been through so much and come from such a place of hopelessness to rise into the powerful player that she is today. Although the trust she was developing with the guys was broken at the end of book 1, they prove to her that they’re there to help her with whatever she needs. With Joel back on the scene, she needs their help more than ever and I loved seeing her character grow and start opening up to her men.
Kade, Gray and Rylan are the exact type of possessive, devoted, alpha men that Mili needs. They aren’t afraid to go toe to toe with her but also accept that she can handle herself at the same time. The scenes with them were super hot and I loved each of them individually as well as a group.
The ending was perfect. I was on the edge of my seat right up until the last few chapter. Everyone got what they deserved, both good and bad, and I wouldn’t have changed a thing about it.
This duet is dark, fast paced, action filled and hot as shit. If you haven’t started Runner yet, this is your sign. You won’t be disappointed.
🚘 🔫 🥄 🌟 BOOK REVIEW 🌟 Endgame by Kay Riley 🎶 Payback - Juicy J, Kevin Gates, Future & Sage the Gemini
ARC review. Releases 3.3.23 This is the conclusion of the fast and furious feels RH duet by Kay Riley. I loved this whole duet and this book definitely kept my attention throughout the whole thing! Gray, Kade and Rylan had a ways to go to gain the trust of Mili again. They definitely put in the work and then some before Mili opened back up.
When things keep hitting close to home and those she cares about are threatened, Mili takes action. It’s speaks highly her feelings for these men when she does so much to protect them, despite her icing them out. Plus, can we talk about the kitchen counter and the living room table. Whether Mili wanted to admit it or not, what happened in those two locations shows way more trust than she was leading on.
Once again, I loved all these men. The amount of effort they put in despite everything that happened 🥰. Plus, it was the little things that Mili did along the way to show her love. With fast and furious being one of my favorite movies from when I was younger, this book gave me all the feels. I’m not kidding when I express how much I loved it!
I highly recommend this duet. There is definitely some heavy dark intense topics broached here. Please read the trigger warnings. If you have no such qualms, go read now!!!!
“Their concern for me created a wave of emotions I didn’t even want to attempt to untangle at the moment. When it came to them, my walls were down and there was no going back. I cared about them as much as they did me, and it scared the hell out of me. Anything could happen tonight, and the thought of losing any of them made fear pulse through me. They were doing this job for me. Risking their lives for me.” *** I read Runner, the first book of this duet, and absolutely loved it. I’ve been waiting for Endgame and it definitely delivered. This book has everything you want but also so much more! There is so much action and so much spice and this book keeps you hooked throughout the whole story. I loved that we got to see more of all the characters and I feel like they each got to shine a little more in this book, which was super exciting. It’s hard to share more about the story without giving too much away, but I highly recommend this duet, as well as Kay Riley in general. She does a great job of writing stories that are super engaging and I love that she portrays the female main character as such a strong character. I also think that her writing is just always very well done. I definitely think that anyone who’s into dark romance, why choose and lots of action will really enjoy Endgame!
So I remembered reading the first book but either I didn’t care to keep going or this wasn’t out yet.
Anyways decent conclusion. I like that she was a strong fmc but idk I feel like she’d have more trauma from her past than we see. Some things didn’t really make sense, Liam for starters second evil honcho who pitied her so taught her to drive and fight? First book I was like ok maybe he didn’t like his boss and had a soft spot but this book he doesn’t care the world and life don’t matter because his wife is dead. I mean maybe she was alive back then and then not in this book but it didn’t read that way 🤷♀️
The whole evil groomer was meh plot for me. He was built up to much for it to be believable. He was ruthless yet he never killed the guys when if he had the power they all believed or could get it back then everyone’s death who got in his way wouldn’t have mattered whether it started a war or not.
There were other issues that the character psychology just didn’t work for me but it wasn’t horrible. I more or less just kept reading wondering how the conclusion would go. It was basically fast and furious vibes but idk less epic car chase scenes and explosions.
Really enjoyed the “Sapphire Duet”, the first book really made an impression and this second book is just as good.it’s a fantastic story packed full of non stop high octane energy. Really enjoy the “Enemies to Lovers” and Reverse Harem tropes and this duet is a stunning example of both. Milina is so tough and independent and doesn’t trust easily after the hell she endured with Joel. She’s determined to stay free, whatever it takes. We take up the story straight after the ending in book one finding her alienated and untrusting after thinking the Riot Crew betrayed her after barely escaping Joel again. Love the way she needs to work with and forgive the guys, she certainly doesn’t make it easy on them and even tho she needs them isn’t letting them know her ultimate goals. The explosive chemistry she has with all the guys is off the charts, all of them together made my iPad overheat🌶️🌶️🌶️ It always adds a little extra when we touch base with characters we’ve met in previous series, so good to catch up with Vee and her guys. Read this duet, it’s a well written, exciting read I know I will keep coming back to.
I love Mili and the guys so much and reading the end of their story is bitter sweet. Runner ended on a cliffhanger and left you wanting more. Endgame did not disappoint, it started hooking me in right off the bat. Endgame took off right where Runner ended.
I loved Mili even more in this book. She doesn’t let people in and she let Kade, Rylan and Gray in and in this book it really shows another side of all their relationships. I love each guy for different reasons and this book made me love each one even more. Mili has always been one tough cookie and this book made her even more awesome. I loved how everything turned out and there were no questions left unanswered.
The spice levels were on another level. Everything about this book just makes me want it to not end, but when it did it was perfect. I also loved reading about people from Suncrest, that was just an added bonus.
What a freaking story!!!! Wow. Kay Riley really outdid herself with this one. I could not put this book down, the twists and turns and the secrets revealed had me glued to my kindle all night long. The things that Mili has lived through and fought for really comes through in this part of the story. The reasons for everything, every move she made, every choice she had. This story is filled with so many details and connections from other series as well. I loved the interconnection and crossovers. My heart was all over the place with emotions for not only Mili but the men that surround her as well. The way everything flows through from the first page to the last really kept me engaged and tied to the pages. This is more than a romance, this is a story of fight and friendship and what matters most.
Ahh I feel like a chapter in life is closing. I loved this series so so much. Mili and the guys will always hold a special place in my heart! Mili continued to be this bad ass female, who just kicks ass, and shows the world she can do bad all on her own. The guys Kade, Gray, and Rylan finally break down her walls and show her she can trust and love again without getting hurt. Ohh this series is Soo good, my heart hurts that’s it’s over. The plot, the drama, the chemistry, the friendships, and the smut! It was all so amazing and such an incredible read! If you like adventure, bad ass main characters, spicy smut, and an amazing plot then I 10/10 recommend reading the sapphire duet series! Both books were amazing and Mili really makes you feel as a woman, no matter what you’ve been through, you can take on the world🖤
Tropes: Why Choose Hate Spice Baddie FMC Car Heists Enemies to Lovers Gang Romance Fast & Furious Vibes
Ratings: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️♾️ 🎤🎤🎤🎤 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ Review: Well!! Wow!! All the question in book one were answered. I’m now in love with all 3 MMCs. Usually I have a favorite MMC but with these 3 guys I don’t! I love them all, they have different personalities and the way they do things. So much excitement so much action, and oh soo much spice. The spice is off the charts. They do things and have fun toys I had never heard of, I had to look them up lol. I don’t know how these 2 books aren’t being talked about more I would highly recommend!! Like go listen to it now. If you like dark romance and check those trigger warnings.
What a Duet, binged both within a few hours it was that good. Don’t get many books these days that involve crews that run the car hijacking’s, stealing, selling etc Crews, gangs and even the mafia, this duet had it all, can’t get far without a good hacker. One hell of a FMC that is just as bad ass as half the guys put together. She’s fierce and proves she’s got what it takes to work with some of the most violent, corrupt and tough gangs, MC’s, powerful people out there. She made this duet. Some amazing surprises, great twists and an all around incredible read that is entertaining from the get go. The writing is everything and more. I absolutely love it when an author knows what they are doing and can appreciate their hard work and dedication. This Duet proves it. Highly recommend 10/10
This book here. I swear I was not ready. I went from book 1 and jumped into this one. The secrets that come to life in book 1 and book 2 is shocking. I wont even lie. Some of the secrets blew me away because I was not expecting that at all. I will say, I love how the guys are in this book. They may have pulled their head out of their a** but is it to late? The way Milia handles things even when nightmares are closing in shows just how strong she is. I love the ending of this book as well. Someone gets redemption in a way and those who need to die… Well I can’t give that away. Milia is now one of my top favorite Main female character. Kay Riley did so amazing on both of theses that I’m out here pulling other books of hers because I know they will be so good too.
I had an incredible experience reading The Sapphire Duet by Kay Riley. Milina’s character taught me a great deal about determination and perseverance. She embodies bravery, strength, and relentlessness, making her my favorite female main character.
The flow of the narrative was exceptional, allowing me to visualize the scenes and empathize with the characters. Both stories were masterfully crafted with well-thought-out characters and a compelling plot.
The love story between Millie and the male characters was beautifully written, with the characters falling in love with each other in a bittersweet fateful kind of way. The ending left me feeling happy and fulfilled, and I would give this book a five-star rating. It’s definitely worth the read!
Thank you again to Kay Riley for the ALC for both books in the Sapphire Duet. I really liked this duet and am super excited to read more of Kay Riley’s books. While I did like the first book more this one was still action-packed and the conclusion was very satisfying. I do think there was some repetition in the book and while I understand the point it was trying to make it does take away a bit for me to have the same thing happened too often. There was a lot of fun things that discussed a previous series that I’m now very interested in and can’t wait to read next! But I’m so excited to have found another indie author to read more books by and to recommend to everyone else too.
