EXCERPT:

"What the heck is wrong with you?" He was breathing hard, his face white and shocked, his hair dishevelled.

My heart raced. I was both scared and oddly excited to see him in such a state, so unlike his typically controlled self. "I-I don't know."

"You hate me," he said firmly, as though trying to make it true. "You-you hate me. So why the hell would you risk your life for mine?"

"Because," I stammered, and of course he was asking questions I had no answers for. "I might not love you. You might be an awful, despicable person, but... that doesn't make it right for me to stand by and watch you die, not when I could do something about it, not when-"

There were no answers, no words left in my mind or my mouth when he crossed the room and kissed me.

-

ALEXANDER STEELE: Cold-hearted. Hard-headed. Absolutely jaded. And he doesn't believe in love - or expect that any of the above will change with the marriage contract he signs.

KATERINA DEVEREAUX: Gentle. Selfless. Just as stubborn as her future husband. She doesn't know if she can change him - but she has faith that God will.

The CEO and The Christian Girl by Nicole Lam
This book follows two people, Katerina Deveraux- the sweet, kind, polite, honest, church girl and Alexander Steele- the cold, stubborn, rude heir of Steele Industries. They found themselves stuck inside an arranged marriage with no way out. "Hating" one another, they have no choice but to let down their walls and trust in God.

My Opinion: I LOVE THIS BOOK!!! <3
I've said this a thousand times throughout the book- Katerina Deveraux is my role model!!! She's everything I want to be when I'm older. I admire her for her strong faith in God and strength to do His will despite her fiancé's unacceptable behavior towards her. I love her humbleness and meekness (which I am reminded everyday that I need to work on!!!). Her calmness in the middle of her storm amazes me. I could go on and on!! Point is-she made it into my top 10 of favorite characters.
I fell in love with Alexander Steele, regardless of his cold and rude front. He is actually a good person, he just didn't have anyone to tell and teach him the truth. I love how his fake mask would drop around Katerina and how she pulled him closer to God (I really want to be that someone to a person someday!).

I never read a christian romance before this one, this was my first. I never have the need or wanted to read one, until now, simply because I thought it will be boring. But this book had me thinking otherwise. Nicole Lam had changed my opinion of christian romance forever, and I love her for that!!!
~
I love this book so much because: It is beautifully and professionally written, it has just the right amount of heat and romance to make me smile until my cheeks ache, it has a lot of inspirational prayers, it has wonderful characters that makes an icon for me, it has a great plot and ending, and I love the angst between the two character, I just love everything about the book.
~
I especially love the part from the excerpt, to be honest, I wasn't interested at reading this book at first, I just wanted to check it out, but when I read the excerpt, I knew I was going to love this book! And I was right! I was head over heels in love with the book <3 I'm sure if you read the excerpt you will also can't wait to start reading the book!

Highly Recommend book and author *<3*
This is the first book from the author and it is certainly not the last!!!

hmm so at first it seemed like things were progressing all too fast... and it did. this was a really fast-paced romance. but the chemistry between them + banter made it all so worth it.. loved both characters immensely acc way more than the side characters... loved the Christian content too.

Also there were some REALLY swoony quotes that I was disappointed to see werent in the quotes section of the book on gr so I couldnt like them:/ but yeah - they're there lol

I'd like to rate this a bit higher because it really was quite touching in places, especially finding out and doing God's plan. It didn't mesh so well with me personally, though, due to the characters drinking alcohol, using words I wouldn't, and wearing certain types of clothes. I know that plenty of Christians do these things, but it was really confusing when the main character especially was indicated to be conservative (several times).

I would also have to disagree with one of the most popular quotes from this book: "I refused to submit to a man who would not submit to God." Sure, you shouldn't obey your nonchristian husband if he asks you to something wrong. And maybe she shouldn't marry one if she feels that way. But it's his position as husband that needs to be respected, and you don't get off of that just because he's not a believer.

Last thoughts: The happy ending dragged on too long. The additional POVs were needless. Some plot twists still don't make sense, and the whole thing was a bit unresolved. Rather like my rambling review. 😉

I received this book for free. Everything I've written, good and bad, came entirely from my own head while or after reading.

oh my goodness, let me just gush about “the ceo and the christian girl” by nicole lam real quick! can we talk about the plot? totally not what i expected, but in the best way possible. my jaw dropped so many times; it's like very much christian with an awesome twist, you know?

then, alex is such a well-written character, and his journey is literally THE canon event for us believers. like, we all go through our thing on the path to the One.

and speaking of katerina, she's goals. i envy her positivity, man. like, i aspire to be a christ-like woman just like her someday. plus, i didn't expect to get a such a helpful crash course in christianity from this book, it's beautiful!

the last chapters were the cutest! i was grinning like a fool the whole time. the character development? top-notch. seriously, no complaints—perfect book!

More of a quiet read kinda book, But it was a great read. There was lots of commotion that seemed like it just came and went. I felt like there was some unnecessary stuff (NOT BAD) but felt just like she needed a crammer to prolong the book. Anyways… He seemed to let go of his anger a little too quickly for me. And then fell for her too fast. But overall I would recommend and would read again on a rainy day.

Gotta be honest, I read this book solely based on the description of the shooting part that was on BookTok. This was my first religious love story and it really felt lacking. Obviously there was no spice, except for some kissing. I've read similar books before so that wasn't a problem. The issue was the blind faith. At one point Alexander is rushing to save Katerina (I really skimmed through the book) and of all the things he could do to help her, he says they can just pray. I believe in a higher power and seek Him out like everyone else does, but come on! Katerina was in nursing school but gave it up, no issues, because God put Alexander in her path and he's her new purpose. Are you kidding me? She didn't have to give it up, she could have found a solution - transfer to a new college - but she didn't. The only way Katerina was portrayed, even for herself, was in relation to Alexander. Her life's mission was to get him to God. You can still do that, and still be your own person.

Saw this on TikTOk. And fell . Should have read the reviews. Before I went in.
Pretty much almost the safest read I have ever read. It was just not for me. at all. It is well written I think in away. But was just not for me. There for 2 stars.

I am stuck between a 2.5 and a 3-star.

I really liked this book at first. It sucked me in with the arranged marriage between two big conglomerates. About 60% through, the story started to drag for me. I started getting bored.

At the beginning of the book, Alexander was a red flag. Katerina wasn’t a bad character but she didn’t stick out to me. Also, the plot with the shooter I didn’t really like.

I was thinking 3 star but at times my mind starts leaning towards 2.5. Either way, I don’t think this book will stick out in my mind.

Even with the complete 0% spice this book was extremely good. Well written and the story made sense. Only 4/5 stars cause of the lack of spice.

I wanted to like this book more, I kept trying but unfortunately it was too religious for me. Probably should of known that from the title.
As well the main FC didn’t seem to fight about anything at the beginning. She just gave up on her life before hand which drove me crazy. She didn’t once ask to go back home before the wedding, could of tried arguing to come back up for weekends to stay in school.

I LOVE how the romance was created in this book! How God brought Kati & Alex together from HATE to LOVE! Their romance was well written! I love the person Kati has always been with everyone because of her love for Christ, it motivates me to want to be the same in my life as a Christian. I love how her love for Jesus spread back into Alex’s life but more profoundly & more understanding for him && how now they’re marriage is centered on God, as it should be. 🙏♥️ Only minor complaint that I have is how slow the beginning is in getting into all the thrills, action, and love but overall, the book is good enough for me to want to know more of what happened in the life of Kati & Alex now that they’re married and have begun creating a family of their own. 🥹💕 I’m off to read more about their marriage in the book - Renewal by Nicole Lam (same author) 😊

I really liked this book. The growth this characters went through was enormous and beautiful to see. Alexander was used to pushing everyone away but he couldn't push her. She was there, no matter how many times he hurt her, she did not left him because she knew he was hurting too. Katerina was a really beautiful woman, inside and out, she kept her loved ones close to her and showed the love she felt for them. They were a couple that shoudn't work at all but they did, and I'm so glad they did. I just wish we had Georgia and George's story but I can't find anywhere so yeah

The CEO and The Christian Girl. The name is enough. The title of this book was the first thing that got my attention and attracted me, and it was worth it! Definitely my favorite Christian romance I've ever read, and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU TO TRY THIS OUT! YOU'RE GONNA LOVE IT! An icy Alexander and a sweet Katerina; see how God changes everything.

4/5⭐️

The writing was okay, but I really liked reading/understanding how another woman views her relationship with the Lord and how she puts God first.

I always struggled understanding that, and this was one of my first books to read with religion, and I loved seeing how people balance that. Therefore, I gave it 4 stars.

This had a lot of potential to be a better story but it just started to bore me. I was excited for this because of the faith aspect tied into the story. However, things just progressed at an odd pace and besides their arranged marriage, the other characters just had no personality.

2.5 rounded up to 3 stars
The heroine quit her education because she was engaged to a guy who didn't even like her. The story reminds me of my wattpad era, and not in a good way

Smooth

This is the first time that I had read a book like this and it did not disappoint. The way the author was able to do such smooth transition into the whole purpose of the book was amazing as well as doing an amazing job weaving faith into it to.

Heavy on Christian slant

The basic story is very good but for me Katerina came across as a bit sanctimonious. This book is heavily religion slanted from the Middle to the end, not to my taste but other than that it is a good story.

Awesome Clean Read

Finding clean romance has been difficult lately, but this sweet, inspiring story was just what I needed to remove my reading slump. It was cutesy and filled with depth and warmth. The Christian values shown through which I loved. Overall, it was an excellent book.

I absolutely adored this book. The story is in itself is 5 ⭐️’s. I’m only deducting half a star, ultimately giving the book a 4 ⭐️ rating. Why? The writing, that’s literally it. There were a few things that could’ve been fixed or just reworded to make it sound better and smoother in a sense. Other than that, this book was an amazing love story, not only in the sense of romance, but also in a sense of having a relationship with God. It doesn’t matter how far gone you are, wether you knew Him prior or not in your life, He will always be there for you and embrace you with open arms, guiding you down the path He knows is best. Why? Because He planned that path out for you!!

The plot twists in this book? I wasn’t expecting any of it! And knowing that there are other books in the series, I can’t wait to read that. I just purchased the remaining ones and I have a feeling that they’ll be just as thrilling and sweet as this one.

I always thought that contemporary books could get boring since theres not much action in them. Then again, I’ve only ever read one contemporary book in the past within the contemporary and comedy genres and loved it, but this has just always been my thought with most contemporary books I see, but like I mentioned before, the plot twists that take place and lead to the other books in the series makes everything better. So if you’re not a contemporary fan, but want to start getting into it, I’d say this book is the way to go, especially since the chapters are super short. Not only that, but if you’re looking for clean romance, this book is just that.

The banter in this book was absolutely beautiful. I lived every second of it. So if you like that, you’ll like this book. Not to mention these tropes: forced proximity, opposites attract and an arranged marriage. Lastly, this book is fast paced!! What more can you ask for?

Overall, I recommend reading this book if you a clean romance filled with many twists and turns and consists of christian themes.

I have said this before and I will say it again and again.
Christian fiction should not have secular themes in the books. I shouldn't be reading a book and have to skip over sentences because of profanity!! I shouldn't have to skip over sentences because of alcohol or spice!! and I shouldn't have to dnf a book because I am uncomfortable with the content of secularism. I am so sick of seeing authors call themselves Christian authors and put trash in their books!!!

YOU CANNOT BE A CHRISTIAN FICTION AUTHOR AND WRITE STORIES WITH SECULAR THEMES. YOU ARE NOT A CHRISTIAN AUTHOR IF YOU DO THIS. AND I WILL NEVER CONSIDER YOU A CHRISTIAN AUTHOR. however if you are a clean author you can do this. but do not call yourself a Christian fiction author if you're going to do this this gets on my nerves so badly!!!

I bought this book and thank the Lord I did not buy the entire series. so $3 down the drain that's not too bad. I will however not be reading any more books from this author.

A lovely story indeed. I liked how the slow burn was so realistic and the intertwined relationships between the main characters were spot on. Alexander and Katerina were an unlikely match who slowly grew to love each other in a beautiful way. Highly recommended.
