Wolves of Piston #2

Brother Wolf of Piston

Rate this book
Vander is being pushed into a position of power in his new Pack, and he’s not ready. The Zombie Wolf has taken over as Alpha of the Piston Mountain Pack, and the monster is trying to drag him up to Second, but Vander has never been motivated to rise to power…until now. There is a new female on the outskirts of the Pack, and he is tasked with protecting her. Shae Lynn doesn’t feel like such a disruption to his life as he gets to know her, and slowly, the Second-in-the-Pack position is looking more and more tempting. Pieces are moving, but there is a storm brewing around the Pack that no one knows how to stop. When Shae Lynn starts to realize what is actually happening, it’s much too late to stop it.

Shae Lynn is a curvy beauty with natural protective instincts that come with the rare shifter animal she possesses. She’s meeting the Piston Mountain Pack for the first time, but she can sense immediately that something is weighing heavily on these werewolves. It’s none of her business, and she should stay out of it, but the problem lies with Vander. The new Second of the Pack is like a magnet for her animal, and she’s having trouble staying away. She has no idea what she’s in for as she realizes a dark sickness is taking over the Wolves of Piston. Step away and let Fate do what Fate wants to do, or lock her legs against the storm and protect the crippled Pack—these are her two options, and one of them could end her entire life as she knows it.

Werewolves, witches, and ghosts…don’t miss this second installment in T. S. Joyce’s brand-new Wolves of Piston series, where nothing ever was, or ever will be, what it seems.

Content Warning: love scenes, naughty language, and piles of shifter secrets. This series is establishing territory lines for a new Pack. If you aren’t up for wolf fights, this won’t be your jam, but if you’re up for action-adventure love stories with a side of werewolf growly-growly-fight-fights, this one’s for you.

This one started out with Shae Lynn moving to town and getting introduced to the pack. It was an interesting dynamic and only went a bit more crazy from there. Shae and Vander were then thrown together to go back to back up her apartment and things got weird. There was a connection between the two of them, but something was happening to the pack, something not good. Shae figured things out and went about to fix it, but it came with a cost. In the end everyone was good and the pack in a much better place.

On a side note...I LOVED what animal Shae turned into!! I would love to see more of these animals or ones like them.

Love the Piston Pack Stories

Shae works for Isa and they have just moved so Isa can be with Stryker. And then Shae meets Vander. Vander has no intentions of settling down but he's drawn to Shae. She's funny, easy to talk to and he decides they could become good friends. Only the more time they spend together both are finding it hard not to cross the line. In the meantime something evil is threatening the pack and it takes Shae to figure it out. I love the characters and love the pack. Can't wait to read the next book.

These books are fast and entertaining.

I can't give more than 3 stars, though, because the stories are quite short.

Another proof that love conquers all... This is book 2 of this fabulous series Wolves of Piston ...

Isa decides to move to the outskirts of Piston Mountain in order to be closer to Stryker/ Zombie Wolf and she brings her trusted friend and employee Shae Lynn. Shae is about to meet Zombie Wolf who she's only ever heard about, but if he was able to steal her boss's heart, he can't be all that bad, although he looks scary as hell. What she hadn't counted on was meeting all the monsters from his pack, but one caught her attention more than the others, but wait there are 2 of them and none of them look like monsters. Still when she goes on a road trip with Vance the first hunk that caught her eye to get the rest of her things in the city, she really forms a tight friendship, or so she keeps telling herself that it's friendship, but he must never know what her inner animal is lest he run.

Vance the love em' and leave em' bad boy of the pack starts to realize that what he looked for in his 1 nightstands wasn't all that the longer he spent with Shae. He didn't want to be second in the pack before, but now it was starting to look better and better. He even thinks her animal is sexy instead of scary and that is saying a lot considering what her animal is.

Looking forward to reading book 3, as usual, Ms. Joyce you rockkkk!

Brother Wolf of Piston🐺

Brother Wolf of Piston is the next book in this series by T.S😍 We met Isa’s assistant, Shae, in the previous book. They are both now moving to the small town where Stryker’s Pack lives to set up their business and lives. Vander and the rest of the Pack show up to help. Vander realises that Shae is not human but a shifter…my favourite line is when he asks her what type of shifter she is and she replies with, “I’m a rare nunya…what’s a nunya? Nunya business”😂😂😂😂

Vander is then sent with Shae to pack up the rest of her belongings and it sets them on a path neither expected.

A great story and I’m excited for the next one❣️

Another amazing book by T. S. Joyce!! If yall haven't read any of her books, you need to. I always love the every day type of feelings people have related into her her stories. Absolutely love they always have the people prevailing in whatever the circumstance is and that they always get their happy endings. Best and favorite author by far and ALWAYS looking for the next book with her!!

I wasn’t expecting Shae to be THAT type of shifter! I thought she and Vander were so cute and funny together. I’m fairly new to this author, but I like her writing style quite a bit.

Liked the upbeat h and the slightly uncertain H. He wasn't sure he deserved to be second but he was always good with the h, and I loved his little feisty dog. The h was great and she saved the pack.

wow

I don’t understand how so much can happen in less than200 pages. This is my favorite one yet. My only complaint is that it’s not longer. I want more.

I’ve enjoyed many of T.S. Joyce’s shifter series, but I am going to sit out the rest of Wolves of Piston. Joyce is great at fluffy, light shifter romance. This series, however, has gone sideways with the interjection of dark witchcraft and other evil characters behind the scenes, but without enough world building to support the additional elements and make it work.

Book two in the series sees the drama with Stryker intensifying. Having a mate hasn’t stabilised his powers and they’re all struggling.
Shae has packed up and moved her life for her boss Isa to stay with her new mate. Which means Shae inevitably meets the pack. She’s a rare shifter who hates what she is and rarely needs to change. So you know it’s extra fun once she does.
It has the usual romance for these books: he tells her she’s pretty with or without makeup, compliments her boobs, and says how amazing she looks in track pants and a messy bun and that she doesn’t need to change a thing. This is a bit more serious than some of her other books: less of the ridiculous shenanigans and ribbing and more tragic backstory that’s effecting the present.
We still don’t have a good picture of each pack member as a while (beyond Vaugh, who had chapters in the last book) and the next book is for the pack member who’s had the least amount of page time. It’s always amazing though, so that doesn’t bother me.

Not bad, just not nearly enough.

⚠️ I’m just putting out a warning ⚠️ now . There probably be spoilers ⚠️

Ok, I’ll try not to complain too much about “Zombie Wolf” ( He’s so NOT a Zombie ,like at all .) in this ,I still need to write that review.
Now, I know with this series being built on a certain arc ,there are somethings we can’t or won’t learn until the end. Ok,ok that’s fine but some things we need to have at least a hint at because they just make NO SENSE at all.
1. Stryker - I can buy ( if I try) him coming back from the dead enhanced and or changed . I mean ,come on, you don’t get killed and buried and have some evil witch being you back and be the same . Sure,I get that. Buuuuut, coming back with powers and abilities of say a good half dozen X-Men or other “Superheroes “ and saying you powers are “unlimited “, with absolutely NO explanation? End of story ?
O hell, to the No!
Changed yes. All powerful and able to invade everyone’s thoughts ,to kill them without touch ,to control the freaking weather like “Storm” ? Does he have to ability to bend metal like “Magneto” as well ? No explanations . No nothing is given . Nothing to hold on to .
2. Then you add that to a “love story /romance “ where the couple spends basically 24 hours together getting to know each other, then supposedly don’t see each other for at least the next two weeks after ( they txt, supposedly, but we are just to,d about it mainly ),then a battle, sex, another battle and the epilogue, the end.
Huh ?
There isn’t enough depth here, with the plot or the characters . I liked Vander and Shae was ok but I never felt like I really got to know them,or that they really got to know each other. Riblet ( the lil dog they take in) was ok but he never stopped feeling random until the end when you find out he’s been being used as a prop but the “evil witch” all this time. Then at the end he’s suddenly sweet once the witch is dead.
A witch of course we know NOTHING about ,how she operates, how she’s able to do what she’s doing or what her motivations are. Nothing . Just vague things about power grabs, and
Well, she’s evil.
No. Too much vagueness . Not enough answers or explanations. I can buy a vampire space pirate who’s second in command is a long legged kracken who goes across the galaxy, with him plundering other ships and rescuing random princesses . If. If ,you make it feel real to me.
But this supposed “Zombie” isn’t half dead shambling around begging for brains,he’s loving and kind but has powers he has no right to have. Seeing ghosts, communing w/death omens,( like ravens and crows and the like)having a greater sensitivity to evil, being able to see how close someone is to death, things like that would make sense. Unlike the guy loving girl after spending just 24 hours with her and avoiding her for two weeks, basically because she’s beautiful and kind and sweet and she’s everything good and right in the world . 🤮
Too pat. Way too cliche in these stories.
Last point that got to me. Smell is one of the biggest triggers to memory there is ( true story) and yet it’s mentioned over and over that it’s “oddly familiar “ isn’t really used and looked at by a group of seemingly suspicious paranormals looking for a witch ,knowing they are under attack.
Not bad,but there isn’t much too it, more questions than answers . I came for a meal, got cotton candy instead.

Brother Wolf of Piston

I love the way this author builds a pack and this one is coming along nicely. She has written a lot of books in this similar format and this one stands apart by dealing with the undead - not like her vampire books or the series with the phoenix - but magic that is actually bringing people back from the dead. I don't particularly like the idea of zombies - I want the dead to stay dead in my fantasies and reality.

However, I'm still enjoying her characters. Here is the moment when the MMC realizes he has been an empty man whore his whole adult life,

“He’d never had a relationship long enough for a woman to be comfortable hanging out with him sans her makeup, and now that he thought about that, it kind of grossed him out about himself.”

Kudos to the author - I liked how succinct and poetic this was.

And I really liked this first interaction between the two MCs,

“You aren’t human. What are you?” he asked, his eyes lightening to a moss green color.
“I’m a very rare nunya.”
“What’s a nunya?”
“Nunya business.”

The MFC has lots of questionable self esteem but she is comfortable with herself in a way that is fun too.

And this moment here where all the talk about him being out of her league turns on its head and it's revealed she is actually the unique and remarkable one,

“You’re the one that gets away, aren’t you?” he asked.
“What do you mean?”
He locked eyes with her for a moment and looked like he wanted to answer, but instead, he said, “Never mind,...”

It's a great singular moment in the story when he recognizes something huge and then gets to make a decision about himself. Will he be just another guy who lets her get away and regrets it later because he was too busy denying he wanted a relationship with any amount of depth.

If You Know You Know

T. S. Joyce is one of my favorite authors. Brother Wolf of Piston is one of my (over 100) books of her that I have read and thoroughly enjoyed. The following are quotes tell as much about the author, as her wonderful characters, Shae and Vander.

These may seem to come from left field, but… If you know, you know!

“Yeah, but it can’t be a lame picture. You need to be dressed in a shark costume or something.”

“Shae. It feels weird when you call me lady. We have a step-rodent together.”

‘She looked down at the little bite-sized loofah with teeth, curled in a ball and growling in his sleep.’

‘Hotboy McStudmuffin’

And just like this book and this series…

‘That woman was all green flags to him.’

Another FANTASTIC story by the ultimate Paranormal Romance Author!

Sexy as sin, funny as hell, always an adventure

I have read EVERY book this author has wrote on Amazon and I will never get tired of her books! She brings so much adventure to all her books. The bond you can practically feel between the couples and the other shifters, she brings these people to life and you feel like you have no choice but to turn the page and see what happens next. There are always laugh out loud moments. I always look forward to the repeat things in her books and series, like what 1010 means and the mouse. If you want to find out what they mean and read a book that you won't be able to put down then grab any one and start turning the pages.

I absolutely love this new series and can't wait to read the next one!

It’s moving day for shifter dating agency owner Isa and her assistant Shay Lynn and Stryker brings his pack including Vander to help. Shay has to go back to Boulder to finish the last bits of packing, Vander’s ordered to accompany and help Shay but keep his feelings to himself. Despite that, the pair become close friends and almost bed buddies.

Stryker’s instability seems to be poisoning the pack in the week it takes the women to settle in. The likely culprit seems to be Vander’s adopted stray dog and the strong poison has Isa and the pack becoming more insane with murderous thoughts including Vander battling himself over whether it’s a good idea to rid the world of Shay.

Brother Wolf of Piston (Wolves of Piston book 2) by TS Joyce is a 5 ⭐️ read.
Shae Lynn has moved alongside her boss to a new town, she just wants to get every set up but she’s forced to take someone with her when she goes to get the rest of her stuff, she doesn’t expect Vander and his angry dog to get passed her defences.
Vander is being pushed to be number 2 in his pack, something he doesn’t want but his twin does, meeting Shae has made his inner wolf sit up and take notice but he’s been warned off her by his Alpha. When someone is threatening his pack he steps up to help proving he’s right for the number 2 spot.
I loved this story, T always pulls you into her stories whether you want to or not.

I don't know what exactly it was about this book, but somewhere along the way I just got bored and by the end I'd just about lost all interest in the series.
I liked the first half, the fun and banter, but once they arrive back in Gunnison it feels like we missed a whole bunch of chapters, cause all of sudden everything is cranked up to a hundred. The story, the drama, the romance. With as intense and dark as it got it it mostly felt disconnected and like I was suddenly reading a completely different book.
Speaking of the romance... I was bit underwhelmed tbh it seemed like all the development from friends to more and all that happened off page. It also didn't help that lovey-dovey Shae felt more 11 than 31.
Love, love, loved her animal though!!

Three cheers for the Wolves of Piston!

Anyone who's read TS Joyce, knows they're getting the good stuff when they're starting a story from this amazing author! She really knows how to build characters and their situations into a world that makes it impossible to want to put her books down! I always think, this is it! There's no way I can love the next series as much as I loved the one before it! Again, again, she proves me wrong! I love this series! I can't stand waiting for Flex and his story! But, I know it will be worth the wait! Do yourself a favor and read everything she's written! In order! You won't regret it!

The Piston Mountain Pack was growing.

This is book two in the series and as you know from book one, Stryker aka Reaper moved his pack to a new location for a new start. Also happening was his mate and new love Isa decided to move closer and get an office in the closest city. Moving week was happening and Stryker was introducing Shae, Isa’s Assistant, to everyone. Well the guys took notice of Shae. There was still another trip back to Denver required and Stryker didn’t want his mate to go so he assigned the trip to Vander. Well that’s where the fun begins between Shae the fun and outgoing young woman and Vander the attractive outgoing young man. Read On!

Quick, action packed addition to this series. Stryker can't catch a break, even though he trying so very hard. With Shae and Isa moving to Gunnison, this story is about Shae and Vander finding eachother, and Vander finding his place within the pack.
Definitely has an intriguing plot twist. But the pack is growing and becoming stronger with each book.
There is a lot of gaps within this series, confusing action sequence in the end that I am still trying to figure out how it came to be.
With the cost of the book ad the length, I still think it was worth my time and $$. Onto Lone wolf.

Vander's alpha wants him to become his 2nd

Vander's alpha wants him to become his 2nd. Vander doesn't want the spot. His brother Vaughn had always held that position.

Shae has relocated thanks to her boss and friend Isa. That's when she meets Vander. He's different, special. Thus begins their journey at finding each other and vanquishing what's trying to end their pack.

I enjoyed this read 📚!

Brother Wolf...

Wolves of Piston book 2. Vander and Shae Lynn are simply fanfreakingtastic together. They are thrown together when she moves into town with her boss, who is love with his alpha. They connect. They help each other out. And as they fall for each other, they protect each other. The banter in this book is the best. I laughed, cried and fussed. Angsty, dramatic, action filled and smexy.

This is the second book in this series. They should be read in order. Shae Lynn is moving to Piston with her boss Isa. Isa is the mate of the Zombie wolf. Vander is tasked with helping by his alpha, Reaper. Shae and Vander have a connection but there are things going on with the pack. Shae is a shifter as well. Her animal is drawn to Vander. Shae Lynn wants to help the pack but she doesn’t know how. Vander and Shae Lynn are trying to figure out what is going on with the pack. Will they be able to figure things out before its too late? This book was a fantastic read. I am loving the Zombie wolf and his pack. Will his old alpha ever leave Reaper alone. He is dead and still recking havoc on Reaper and his new pack. I can’t wait for the next book. Fantastic job T.S. Joyce.

so much fun

Reading a T.S. book is like going on a road trip with your bestie. So much fun and laughs, great road trip snacks and memories that last a lifetime. Inside jokes and inappropriate humor ( for people with no funny bone). Each book gets better and as she gives us a glimpse of the world she created and is the queen of.
