It also serves as the hub for Joyce Meyer Ministries’ outreaches across the United States.
GREAT book. Joyce Meyer is a GREAT writer. I would recommend just about any of her books. This one touches on just about anything emotionally or mentally you're struggling with. From Depression to insecurity and worry.
I have enjoyed reading books by Joyce Meyer in the recent past. They have been intelligent, inspirational and informative and this was certainly no different. Yes there was material that I had recognised from other books but some of the concepts were a breath of fresh for some of the personal issues I am walking through. I waited a long time to read this book and was certainly not disappointed. A very good reference book for either a new Christian or a Christian needing practical and spiritual wisdom, a useful addition to any personal library
7 books in 1 my favorite sections were stress and loneliness. She said stress-if you exalt Jesus you will be less exhausted. Encouraged to pray during fearful times. The busier you are the more you need to pray. Some stories seemed repetitive
Joyce Meyer speaks on emotional battles such as loneliness, fear, depression, and other topics that typically happen even in the body of Christ (believers). I mainly had to read on fear, worry, depression and insecurity which are my triggers here and there. Meyer ultimately stated redundantly that prayers are effective to ignite the power and our faith with believing in that prayer, will spark the fireworks! We cannot live in fear and lack, where we need to start praying heavenly blessings that will shower down on us for God's glory, it can be done. I am so inspired and so needed it under the pressure of getting into law school which I divinely believe that God is gearing me in this direction...got test on Sat! I am so ready to work on my mindset, and believe in the power of God since I studied, prepped, and applied myself to the best of my ability! Now the rest is set on GOD, breathing, and power of prayer.
She also lays out scriptures on the topic at hand to review and meditate on. We speak these things aloud, we believe, and then we will receive.
She also reminds us that we cannot earn God's love nor His blessings, but we can go anytime to him with our needs and He will supply them. God accepts us as is, but the enemy will allow you to think and believe otherwise. The Devil also knows when something good is bound to happen, and will do everything in his power to get us off course. Inwardly, insecurity can be that thing! We are not confident and do not go in boldly. Moreover, we have to eliminate or omit the negative!
Wow! This book is filled with real principles to help us not only function in this world but to live in victory - the victory Christ secured for us through His death and resurrection. Reading this has been a blessing, and I'm sure I'll continue to reference it from time to time. I recommend it to anyone who has ever felt depressed, worried, stressed or anxious, and rejects the world's way of dealing with this. Remember that we don't wrestle against flesh and blood but against powers and principalities, and rulers of the darkness of this world. Therefore, with the knowledge you gain from this book you can fight your emotional battles in the spiritual realm where you will have lasting success!
I found this book helpful many years ago when I was suffering from depression and was plagued by doubt of God. I'll be honest, at the time I resented a lot of things in this book, but Meyer speaks the truth and uses scripture to combat the lies we believe. She is not a fluffy, roses, brunch and Jesus kind of lady. Thankfully! She's been through hell and back, so she does have some credibility. I read this at the same time as a cognitive therapy book, and together they worked well. I would not suggest this book alone for someone who is severely depressed, but it is a good spiritual supplement to other more practical books.
Topics this book covers:
Discouragement Fear Worry Depression Insecurity Loneliness Stress
Just finished the part on depression. I love the canny way she reminds of our Fathers love, and shouting out satan, and the joy of praise as a beacon of hope! The father already knows all about us, our ups, downs, success and failures, all our sins- but He still chose us, bec he wants us and loves us!!!
A great book that helps the reader deal with worry, stress, fear, discouragment and insecurity. Joyce weaves scriptures, stories, personal experiences into a powerful book of hope and peace.
Practical and head on. Just what I needed to hear! Joyce is so gifted at helping her readers apply scripture and use the Bible to work on the challenges of life. the hard part...following her advice.
This book helps you get past all of the things that are trying to hold you back from what God wants of you and needs of you. I would read this book over anytime. I love it.
