This was disappointing. It lacked some major chemistry and believable heat. The heroine had a big personality and the hero faded into the back. I needed that larger than life alpha male to match the heroine with a backbone. Overall, didn’t love it.

I agree with what other people are saying on this book. It’s good, not great. It lacked chemistry and we had no awareness of the time period. BUT my main issue was the heroine just being annoying and dramatic. This would’ve been 3 stars but I love CM

barely 2 stars TBH
there is no built up, no chemistry , no fire, nothing!
we don't even know how long they pinned for each others (they always say years...but how many?)
the first book was wayyyyy better than this, also when we get to see the first couple around this book? well they are all lovey and awesome, more than the main couple. :))
so yeah, not worth it.

This one didn’t work for me. I was looking forward to their story but they were boring together and she was irritating. I liked seeing how calm and gentle he was with her though. This installment has made me even more curious about Santos, I can’t wait for his book.

So happy I found this one!
Tbh I wasn't aware this is a series when I came across this one so now I have to go back to book 1 and then I'll continue with the series.
But that's ok, that was my mistake.
Summarizing, this series is about a mafia family and it's all happening around Christmas.
And someone is out there to kill them all.
Book 1 is Nico's story, this one is Allegra and Raul's.
Allegra is the baby sister of Santo, the mob boss.
Also, Allegra has always been in love with Raul.
And even once made a pass on him but he rejected her.
Raul is the family doc, a few years older than Allegra.
He's also friends with Sante.
Sooo...
We have the hero pining over the heroine from afar, the delicious forbidden aspect, the age gap, everything I like.
I'm only taking away 1 star for the hissy fit Allegra threw. That was childish. And unnecessary.
But all in all, I loved it.
And without much further ado, Imma dive inside book 1 now.
Highly recommend!

¿Por qué este libro no pudo ser más largo?
Tal vez la trama no me importó mucho, pero los personajes sí que lo hicieron.
¿Raúl? Demasiado hot. Mis disculpas, I'm just a girl. Él es un doctor, rubio, mayor que la protagonista, con vibes de ser profesor, y de paso... usa lentes. Simplemente caí.
Por otra parte, Allegra es una reina total, la adoré.
Todo estuvo muy lindo, me gustó todo ese asunto del romance pseudo prohibido con mucha forced proximity de por medio, y más porque esos dos no podían ocultar más lo desesperados que estaban por estar con el otro finalmente.

Cuando no hay química, resulta difícil disfrutar de cualquier tipo de interacción entre los protagonistas. El argumento es patético y poco realista. Fue una lucha terminarlo, pero con un poco de fuerza de voluntad lo logré. No valió la pena en absoluto.

This book was so cute I loved the whole forced proximity aspect and I love how he made it clear that he would choose her over her brother any day also I don’t think she overacted and I wish she knew that bc she has every right to feel that way

Raul is a mafia doctor and Allegra is the bosses little sister. Well Raul rejected her and broke her hard when Allegra was 18. Now years later they are staying together at a safe house after learning about a hit on her. Sparks fly, old wounds re open... But the heart wants the heart gets.😍😍 I freaking loved that Allegra was no wilting flower and how she stood up for herself. Raul finally saw what he missed and now not even her big brother (his boss) can stop him from finally claiming his woman 😍😍 Sweet ,steamy , romantic, fun to read and safe with a great HEA 😍😍😍😍 This mob family is great and behind their tough exterior they are a loving bunch.👍👍

This is a sweet mafia romance with everything you can expect from Cassie Mint. The heroin, Allegra, is not my favourite though... a bit too much drama queen?!
Overall, this book brings you everything you come to expect of this author. Great quick read!.

Cavaleiro Silencioso
Quando li a sinopse, fiquei com receio de não gostar tanto, porque não curto muito histórias de segundas chances. Imaginei que teria algum drama de um passado mal resolvido entre Allegra e Raul que não me agradaria. Mas quanto a isso eu nem precisava me preocupar. Na maior parte da história, achei bem melhor que o primeiro livro. Mas na reta final a Allegra deu uma de criança mimada e pirracenta que realmente testou a minha paciência. Desandou legal ali e não combinou em nada com a mulher inteligente e bem resolvida que ela era. A Leah, mocinha do primeiro livro, que tinha zero experiência com a máfia e situações perigosas, soube lidar bem melhor no quesito autopreservação do que a princesa da máfia, nascida no meio e acostumada com todo aquele mundo criminoso. A mulher se deixou levar pelas emoções, não deixou nem o cara que ela dizia amar explicar nada e, mesmo com um alvo nas costas, tomou uma atitude muito imprudente (eu queria usar outra palavra, mas deu ruim da última vez que a usei, então vamos chamar Allegra apenas de imprudente). Claro que deu o ruim todo mundo sabia que iria dar, né?!
A história estava indo bem, mas depois do ataque de piti da Allegra, desanimei legal. Eu esperava mais dela. Pelo menos aqui teve um pouco mais de desdobramento em relação a ameaça que começou no primeiro livro e que não foi muito bem trabalhada lá. Agora, sim, tivemos um gancho legal para o próximo livro. Expectativas já foram criadas, espero não me decepcionar.

Years ago, Raul was the thing to light up Allegra's eyes. However, since that fateful night when he rejected her advances she hasn't looked at him the same. If anything she goes out of her way to ensure they're never in the same room long and definitely never alone.
All these 'rules' change when Santo orders Raul to take Allegra to a safe house when a hit is put out on her. But what Allegra doesn't know is Raul is the reason her brother has sent her to be alone from her own family so close to the holiday. Because the hit wasn't just for Allegra as she was led to believe.
Raul's sole purpose was to keep Allegra safe at all costs. He may have denied her and himself years ago, but he's only a man. When Allegra bumps up her 'seduction' attempts, he's not willing to hurt the woman he loves any longer. Allegra will be his no matter that her brother has threatened him with bodily harm if he touches her.
Honestly, I would've given this 5 stars, but Allegra kind of got on my nerves a lot during this short book. I like a sassy and independent heroine. However, I really could've done without all the drama and theatrics. She's all for saying she's grown and understands the world her brother rules, yet she throws a fit because she was being protected. She can't expect to be treated the same and know the same information as Raul or even Nico. She's not a man within the ranks.

Cassie Mint does it again. This was yet another cute (awkward to say when talking about the mob) Christmas story within the Di Rossi crime syndicate. This time we follow Santo's sister Allegra and Dr. Raul Ossani on their journey to finally find one another.
I really enjoyed that this story played on a lot of the history between these two main characters- they weren't just strangers who happened to meet due to unforeseen circumstances. They were actual people who have known each other for a fairly long period of time and who have had feelings for each other in the past that have not necessarily disappeared due to rejection at the time.
While this book did have spice (and boy did it have spice when we finally go there. There is nothing better than a dirty talking doctor), I liked that it was not the main focal point (not sure who I am currently while typing this because I do love me some spice- the spicier the better!), it really wasn't a focal point of the story. The story focused more on the two main characters and the threat that the faced as well as some slight betrayal and hurt feelings among all of the characters. There was also some violence when everything comes to a head so if that triggers you, it may not be the best book to read (it is quick and pretty non descript violence, but it is still there).
Certainly a short holiday novella that you should add to your TBR if mafia reads are you thing

The story of the De Rossi mafia continues in this book about mafia princess Allegra and mafia doctor Raul. Cassie Mint brings her amazing writing style to the mafia world and I am enjoying every minute. The characters in the De Rossi world are fantastic with unique personalities and tons of development. Allegra in particular was amazing to read about. She parades as a spoiled mafia princess, sister to the head of the mafia, but really she is feisty, loyal, intense, and smart. I also really loved Raul. He’s been controlling his feelings for years, sure that Allegra’s crush would fade away and she would find someone worth her love. Raul is amazing though and no one could love and protect Allegra like he can. The chemistry between them is extremely HOT! The spicy scenes in this book are kindle melting and high heat pairing well with the suspense kf a mafia romance and the sweetness of a budding relationship. I can’t wait to see what comes next in this world and for these characters. This series is a must read!

This second short in the Very Merry Mob series of interconnected standalones (each one completes one couple's romance but there is an overarching mob plot thread) was just as fast-paced and relaxing a read, and does have the same tone I enjoyed in the first one, but I didn't enjoy the couple quite as much.
Part of that may have been my anticipation for more of the strait-laced doctor hero character - wanting certain things that didn't really come to fruition - but also it was a tad bit of second chance in that the heroine had tried to get the hero to kiss her years ago (a non-specified time frame has passed since then) but he refused/recoiled because she was only 18 at the time and his boss's off-limits little sister. We are told they have each pined for each other since, but I didn't really feel that from them.
But, like I said, a quick and relaxing read with a tone I enjoy and showing us more of the intriguing "kingpin/boss" hero that was insta-interesting in book one... of course his story will be last.

This is the 2nd book in the series. It can be read as a standalone, however, I would advise reading the books in order to understand the background to this story better.

Raul (H) convinces mob boss Santo that Allegra, Santo’s younger sister, needs to be protected in a safe house when there’s a bit out on her and other Family members. Allegra us upset to be away from her brother at Christmastime, especially with the man who turned her down years before. She comes to realize that Raul is not immune to her, and sets about changing things between them, even if it will incur her brother’s wrath. When the threat materializes, Raul will protect what’s his. Sweet mafia Christmastime romance with a side of heat. Lovely second book in The Very Merry Mob series – best read books in series order to get the most out of returning characters and the overarching storyline. Can’t wait for Diego’s story!

I love this series so far. Silent Knight: Book 2 of The Very Merry Mob did not disappoint. Allegra is told she needs to go to a safe house and Raul will be escorting her. Which would be fine if she hadn’t thrown herself at him and been rejected years ago. Things are awkward to say the least. Raul is finally going to give in to his feelings for Allegra, regardless of the outcome with his boss, her brother. But when she finds out things were kept from her will she for give Raul? What will happen when she makes him take her home and they are attacked? A great storyline and and characters. I would definitely recommend this book and the series. Looking forward to Diego’s story.

An amazing continuation of this series, especially after meeting the main male character in the previous book, where it set up nicely what would happen in this book (well just how it was going to begin really) although I think I preferred that it opened up with the female character first. The story was paced with intense bits and heated moments, and of course that much loved romance that you have come to love from this author! I couldn't put it down and it gave me major Christmas feels and that's just what I'm looking for at the moment, although I think I'd read this book any time of year as it gives of major mobster/mafia vibes which is a bonus as its one my top fav genres. All in all this book was a winner for me!.
