It was a year of change and healing, heartbreak, and renewal.
On his way to reunite with his First Consort, Lord Teo receives unwelcome news from Chi’NoSa Prime.
He is ordered to return to perform a duty he hoped to be spared.
There is no recourse except obedience.
Raphael, changed from his time spent with the Chi’NoSa, discovers that his gifts set him apart from his peers, causing them to shun him.
As his family and a few friends are the only colonists to support him, Raphael spends much of his time alone, removing himself from the cacophony of other minds.
When the wait for his lord’s return is finally over, Raphael assumes his place on the Golden Falcon, hopeful they can live in harmony as they look for new worlds.
Returning to Chi’NoSa Prime was not part of the plan.
Neither was an unwanted duty.
A duty that would change them both, leading them to a Queen who would ask for their future, and may change the Chi’NoSa and humanity forever. What will they have to give in order to save both their species?
TW: Violence and adult sexual situations.
PLEASE NOTE: This is the 3rd and FINAL book in the Archangel series. In order to enjoy the overall story arc we recommend you read Raphael's Rescue and Raphael's Redemption first!
CJ has always been an avid reader of everything, having started her reading career on cereal boxes at a tender age. Deciding to finally share some of the stories in her head, CJ took the plunge into publishing in 2022.
She lives in North Carolina, is happily married to her soulmate who is also a writer, and is the Bringer of Food for two cats; Frankie, who is a delight; and Angel, who has earned her new name, Lucifer's Handmaiden.
For all things Dragon, make sure you visit her website!
This is the book that wraps up the love story for the original characters. So beautiful I had tears of happiness at the end. Hopefully C.J. Dragon will choose to show us the future of humans and Chi’NoSa with a new Raphael and another lord someday. Definitely a series I will read again for enjoyment.
It’s been over a year now, that Lord Teo left Raphael at his home, the Mars Colony. Lord Teo, of the Chi’NoSa, has been checking on his vassal planets and their progress and updates to the Golden Falcon.
Raphael surely misses his lover Teo, but he’s been busy also with his family and working on the new residential dome. Most of all he needs the love of his family. He found it to be a difficult time being home, as he could read more of the inhabitants emotions and was advised to raise his boundaries. Many of the inhabitants began to no longer trust him and it hurt him deeply. He has also neglected seeing his faithful ship, Agatha.
Lord Teo finds the Governor’s of each planet have been doing a good job. The minor changes that he has tried to instill, because of Raphael, are gradually coming along. Time has come and Teo is contacted by the Chi’NoSa Prime, to return to perform his duty to his Clan. How would that sit with Raphael, as Teo will have to mate with selected candidates from other Clans?
Finally, Raphael makes his way to see Agatha, as she will take him to the Golden Falcon when time comes. Even though Agatha is unhappy with Raphael she would always take care of her Archangel. Raphael had made the choice to stay with Teo on Chi’NoSa, but Agatha still doesn’t trust Teo after all the conflicts between him and Raphael.
Will Teo be able to handle the duty that he has been requested to do? Will the Reigna Fali the Queen of Chi’NoSa accept Raphael and what of the proposal she wants to present to Grandmother? Will the positive changes that Raphael brought to Chi’NoSa be fully accepted? Will the Mars Colony, Earth and Chi’NoSa find the path to understanding and compromise? What of Raphael and Lord Teo, will their heartfelt love last forever?
Once again, C.J. Dragon is very descriptive throughout the novel with world building and the striking description of Teo’s home, the Golden Falcon and the brilliant colors that are so easy to imagine. C.J. Dragon’s writing has been superb and in this story its extra special with the many romantic words and scenes shared between Raphael and Teo. There’s thoughts of how things started between them and how much they had progressed and continued to accomplish. “Raphael’s Return” is really Raphael’s story. It’s about one individual who brought: hope, love, positivity, kindness and a universal understanding between different world’s and their inhabitants to bring peace to all and their everyday lives.
These characters deserve to be mentioned: Dasa the Chi’NoSa chief physician that really cared for Raphael and finally showed his courage and stood up to Lord Teo. Raphael’s family: Grandmother Saoirse, Raphael’s mother Amber, Cousin Peggy, Uncle Padriac and Liam. Chi’NoSa, Elan who especially changed his ways and along with Toki who served Lord Teo and Raphael. Two very special characters that made this novel outstanding: Agatha, who loved and protected her brother Raphael and The Lady that always listened and gave strength to all.
I highly recommend reading the “Archangel” series starting with “Raphael’s Rescue”, “Raphael’s Redemption”, and “Raphael’s Return”. This sci-fi, romance series will reflect the understanding of a relationship that was traumatic at the start and blossomed into a powerful love and understanding between a human and a different species.
Finally, Raphael and Teo get the conclusion they deserve in this amazing conclusion to the story. I loved seeing through Teo's eyes how Rafael's suggestions have made an impact as Teo travels about visiting various planets. Everything seems hopeful as their reunion approaches but then, duty calls for Teo and he and Raphael have what may be their hardest challenge to face on with implications for Chi'NoSa and humans. We find out what both are made of here and get a clear view of the people who shaped them. Always love seeing Agatha. Superb world/culture building.
