Two pasts, one future, and a love that’s not promised…
When Nate’s wife walks out, taking his young son with her, he must face the damage his drinking has done to his life. While his ex-wife might not be acting reasonably, she’s not wrong on many points. Changing a lifetime of bad habits won’t be easy, though.
He’ll need support and unconditional love, neither of which is an option.
Sophia’s mother has stopped her from having a life. Caring for a drunk always has cost her relationships, opportunities, and even her father. When her mother injures herself, Sophia must make a hard choice. One almost as hard as the blast from the past comes in the form of Nate, the man she had a crush on when he was just a boy.
Nate needs help, but can Sophia dig deep and be the woman he needs while facing her troubled past?
Does love stand a chance in the face of addiction, pain, and history?
Sophia went to see her father, who was honest with her. She knows now that her mother never wanted her, lied about everything and made her life a living hell.
At the rehab Sophia met with her mother and she never denied not wanting Sophia and did not care that Sophia was never seeing her again. She cares about no one. While at the rehab Sophia spoke with Melissa, a rehab admin who has been working with her mother and reassured Sophia that she has every right to stop seeing and caring for her mother.
Nate was anxiously awaiting her news and he, too, has significant changes in his seeing Wesley, his son. The judge sees that he is not drinking anymore and was lenient with his changes and he gets to see Wesley a lot more now and without supervision.
Was happy with ending on how Nate and Sophia are a significant couple and believe and agree with ending on how well they work together.
Believe author,Sienna, should be acknowledged as to how well she handled this tough subject of alcoholism. Well written and realistic and can say I understand and know as I've been there for my sister as she struggled with it many years ago, but is still a daily challenge and so very proud of her.
Received an early copy for my honest and voluntary rviw.
Nate is trying to end his life by jumping from Creek Bridge. Sophia goes there and keeps talking to him till he realizes that his son Wesley needs him . She is able to avoid disaster by taking him back home .Sophia opens up and talks to Nate about how she thought her father had abandoned her. Because of his past drinking problems he is not able to get a job .Even his old boss Travis refuses to take him back. It’s only Sophia who believes in him. Sophia finds her father and learns a lot about her past. Nate and Sophia get closer and share their troubles. A Heart-warming and enjoyable read. A superb ending to the collection. I am on the ARC term and I leave a honest review. I recommend this book to other readers.
"Weeping may last for the night, But a shout of joy comes in the morning." Psalms 30:5b Book 5 left us readers heartbroken for Sophia & Nick: both at their lowest moments. Once again I couldn't put Needing a Savior down until I read the last word. I shouted for joy as this couple supported each other through their darkest moments. Nick's desperation palpitated as he considered jumping from the bridge. I felt Sophia's courage both when she knocked on her dad's front door & when she confronted her mother. Relief flooded my spirit as Nick & Wes embraced after a long separation. I highly recommend this series.
2 lost and hurting souls, reconnecting after many years apart. Healing together and individually, helping one another along their way. Wonderful story, well written.
