Poet Parker is living a new reality now that she knows what she is. Unfortunately for her, she still doesn’t know what she can do … and she doesn’t think she’s going to figure it out in Little Rock, Arkansas.

Since her uncle Sidney is in tow, Poet is hopeful for a quiet week. Little Rock has never been a hotbed of activity. Quiet isn’t what she gets, however.
What started as an irritation on the pedestrian bridge turns into a full-blown attack. It seems Little Rock has a seedy underbelly after all, and it’s something Poet was never expecting.

There’s a craven on the loose, a woman who can control actions and emotions … and she’s set her sights on Kade. The craven has a specific type, and Kade fits it to a tee. Unfortunately for him, the craven’s victims all end up dead.

Poet is determined to keep her loved ones safe, but it’s proving to be more difficult than she anticipated. With half her army vulnerable to the craven, Poet has to fight her own people, even as she desperately tries to protect them at the same time.

Poet’s new powers are necessary for the fight, but is she ready to embrace them? When the loas join the party and make things worse—because that’s what they do—things spiral.

It’s up to Poet to fix what’s been broken. That is if she can.

When I was a kid, I was torn between whether or not I was going to grow up and be the Incredible Hulk or Wonder Woman. I flirted with being a Jedi Knight for awhile, but I wasn't up for the intense travel associated with the gig. In my teens, I settled on being a writer -- although I had no idea the effort that would entail.
Not only am I a writer now, but I'm a writer in several different mediums. I'm a longtime newspaper reporter, an avid reader and a voracious science fiction fanatic.

Post and the gang come up.against a female Craven, her species has long thought to have gone extinct but in Little Rock Arkansas the quietest stop on their tour one turns up. It's not good news it supposed to be an extinct species but one is still alive and she's killing men, she's actually a serial killer, three victims that Poet knows of already, her powers are similar to a sirens except she doesn't need to use her voice to enslave a man she can just slip.inside his mind and control him. So, all the men in the Mystic Caravan are susceptible to her apart from Cole and Luke, not a good situation, also the Craven has set her sights on Kade, she wants him and is determined to get him...........................

Loved It!!

I love Poet and the whole gang!! This newest edition really helped round out the family and it felt like it gave the series a push towards the circus setting up in moonstone bay. I'm excited to see how Amanda Lee is going to combine those worlds!!! Is she going to fast forward a few years? Is she going to start a whole new series? I'm so excited!!! I love her books!!

Poet and group are in Arkansas when they run into a serial killer

What I enjoyed:
* I always enjoy hanging out with the gang
* Luke was on point
* Nice to see Poet connecting with her uncle Sidney

What could have been better:
* The villain was so young and didn't understand so much, so I don't understand why they had such a hard time
* I could do without the loas stopping in

Poet is back at it again with her circus family setting up camp in peaceful Arkansas...not! Once the crew arrives in Arkansas Poet, Kade, Luke, and Cole immediately run into a craven - an old mystical creature that's on the verge of extinction. The craven is a manipulator of men and she's after Poet's fiance Kade. As if things couldn't get worse Poet's long lost family relatives loa gods follow her to Arkansas to watch her new powers develop and warn her of new evils that may greatly impact her. Poet takes everything in stride all while reading tarot cards to paying customers.

Freaky Crush was refreshing and is setting us up for future adventures. The last few books in the Mystic Caravan series were lackluster (yet I still enjoy it because I love the concept and characters). I was missing Poet's fortune reading and the circus experience. I still lacked the whole group's involvement and conversation, but I could feel that coming back. Freaky Crush was a nice turn of events in the series! I want to know if Amanda M. Lee is going to keep the Mystic Caravan series going for a long while like a few of her other series - I don't want to stop when the circus makes it to Moonstone Bay 😭 Poet mentioned only three stops are left before they settle down.

Craven Crush

Arkansas, where it's always quiet and relaxing so ideal for Sidney to get to know Poet a little better, seems to be under a thrall. There's a strange feeling in the air and Poet is on edge especially when Kade seems to be attracting rather intense feelings among the local women.

A body the following morning seems to bring trouble when Poet's power rather unleashes itself and she freezes the entire police contingent but mercifully it's clear that for once the circus crew are not on the suspect list and she gets away with it.

When one woman steps over the boundaries of appropriate behaviour and tries to grab Kade in full view of Poet she stakes her claim and comes under a powerful attack. It's not a witch, it's nothing she's met before in fact and she's got so little to go on it's going to need some extra research from Max, Baron and Brigitte to work out the truth and resolve it.

Mysterious fires, a serial killer on the loose, a couple of warlocks and rumours of a witch at the college. But can she keep Kade and the other men safe from this strange being who seems able to twist their minds and turn them against their own?

An absolute pleasure to read!

I absolutely love this series and have seriously found a treasure trove of antics, shenanigans, action and snark in these characters as they discover themselves. This particular series encompasses everything I could hope for, a bit of romance, a mystery or twenty, haha, and so many paranormal individuals that my heart jumps for joy!
Poet is one of my absolute favorite characters that Amanda M. Lee has created and I have enjoyed the journey of her growing into her self and this installment has been drastically different, in this one, she has to come to terms with her personal revelations and growth and figure out where that will take her and the rest of the cast of Mystic Caravan. This book has the perfect blend of possible to probable life events blended with the perfect touch of magic and happenstance to make this the perfect destination for your next armchair adventure.
This is a definite family friendly read, no warnings necessary of any kind.

Entertaining paranormal cozy mystery series

This is an entertaining paranormal cozy mystery series. A fun cast of characters and an entertaining storyline. Put Parker is the boss of a traveling circus/carnival. Along with her coworkers and friends they travel around the United States visiting towns and putting on performances. On the side and at nights they seek out paranormal monsters and evil people. They create a dream catcher around their circus that draws in evil creatures and people. they take care of problems when they arise no matter what the problem is. Once again they are traveling and end up in Little Rock Arkansas where are usually it’s a quiet stay. Read on and find out what’s going on this time around. Always action packed filled with adventure and entertainment.

Sonority madness

Love the Mystic Caravan books and whatever monsters Poet and the gang are dealing with. The way everyone’s relationships are maturing is a pleasure to read. So good to see more of Max in this book, he’s such a powerful omnipotent character that doesn’t feature very prominently.
Here we see Raven and Poet working together and now having a real friendship.
The plot here is well thought out as always, fast paced and full of action. So looking forward to the circus finally reaching Moonstone Bay and Kade and Poet settling down. Another fantastic book in this series.

Again... the problem with reading/listening to a series all the way through is where you get discrepancies in storylines. In book #14, it ended with the author having Uncle Sidney be okay and Kade expressing how he wasn't angry with him anymore . Then in this book, they are still angry with Sidney for his part in Poet's growing up on the streets.

The previous book also says that Sidney is okay . Then in this book, at the beginning, he's at the hospital and not doing great. He needs to recuperate.

I'm still looking forward to more from this series. I definitely liked Wicked Witches of the Midwest, Two Broomsticks Gas & Grill and Spell's Angels better than this series. But looking forward to reading/listening to Charlie Rhodes and Moonstone Bay series.

This was a pretty fast and intriguing read although the prologue was a bit of a doozy. I also thought that the book would be more focused on the uncle Sidney relationship but unfortunately it dived in immediately to the usual crime to solve.
I have to say the predictability of the series makes it a little disappointing and this chapter you literally knew immediately who the villain was, at least make that part more suspenseful.
Poet grappling with her newfound powers and humanity is bordering on being very grating and whiny. Hopefully this is not a theme in the upcoming chapters.
I also think the author could have given us more of a backstory on the craven, everything just fit together too nicely.

Alas, I will continue the series.

My favorite so far

I love the additional characters and where the series is heading. Poet's new powers are interesting and ever evolving. I can't wait until they hit Texas next. I'm looking forward to so many things in this series. I really enjoy the relationships/friendships in this series. Highly recommend. Poet is trying to come to terms with her new reality, while facing am enemy like Nome they have faced before and also while trying to protect what she loves most.
Each story can be a stand alone, but more impact of you read from beginning. This wild ride is fun, interesting, and fast paced. Lots of heartfelt moments. Looking forward to more.

well now that was an interesting mystery

I always love visiting the circus, no matter where they stop.
Little Rock Arkansas was supposed to be a quiet place with little to no supernatural element!!!
As if life would ever be that easy and simple for our intrepid Mystic Caravan Crew.
I love how the team is all coming into their own before they land permanently on Moonstone Bay.
I’m intrigued by Poets Loa powers and the eventual part she will play in Charlie Rhodes bigger story all that looks like plenty more magical crossovers to come.
For this one though it really was an interesting mystery and outcome I really enjoyed it.

Love this Series

All of the characters in this series make it into a great series. However, Poet is one of my favorite characters ever. She is smart, strong, funny, sassy, sarcastic, but most of all she loves her family. I have loved watching her grow over this series, especially her relationship with Raven. Of course this book was really good! The writing was outstanding. I love the snarky dialogue that Amanda M. Lee includes in her books. That is one of the reasons I keep coming back for more. Definitely would recommend to anyone who loves a clean paranormal series.

Oh, Poet cant have one moment of peace, someone is always trying to test her, challenge her. First a body if found. 2.Some one is killing men with military background. 3.Someone tries to take what belongs to Poet, and that is just the beginning. New towns ,new people new problems new mysteries. Mystic carnival has come to Arkansas along with uncle Sidney along for the ride and getting reacquainted with Poet ,magic in the air, mind tampering, hostage and alot of my power is stronger then yours you will lose. She knocked it out of the park again

Poet Parker is facing her new powers and they come on a bit strong at time, but can she face an enemy that has the ability to take over her loved ones. Will she find the answers and be able to face the threat? Of course she will, it’s Poet.
Amanda M. Lee is a prolific writer, skilled and experienced yet each new book is reaching more depth in characterization and intriguing plot.

Wonderful

This was probably one of the best, if not the best, in the Poet series. Poet struggles with new powers, with finding her way, despite her support structure. She comes to a few new realizations and is better for it. Small tie in with the Charlie series and it leaves you wanting more and knowing the inevitable conclusion of the series is gonna be epic. All the players participate, but not to the extent we normally see. Overall, highly recommended.

Don’t mess with Poet’s man!

Wow! A supernatural being became fixated on Poet’s man. This was tied to 3 murders and more mayhem and Poet and company had to intervene. This latest outing kept me up reading into the night. One interesting aspect a possible view into Raven’s future! I’m shocked! Now even over and above future challenges for the Mystic Circus I have to keep reading to see what happens with Raven!

one of my favorite series

I love the characters in this series for all different reasons. Cole has become one of my favorite but the women in this book are the rock stars. I enjoy their strengths and sense of humor but also their humanity. I wish that Poet, Charlie,Scout and Luna would get together, what an explosive story that would be! Amanda Lee you are an amazing creative author

A great addition to this series

I love this because it deepens the relationship Poet has with both her found family and her biological family, all while dealing with a paranormal bad guy that is also sadly a sympathetic character. It was nice also starting to interact with more of the circus staff outside of their tight group. Definitely don't want to miss this one. Can't wait for the next.

Amazing

When I first started this book I was having mixed feelings, a love hate battle so to speak. At first Post is but whiny about her new powers. Then she becomes omnipotent to a degree. I love Max. I did not like the way Post rose above him at the end. I loved this book but honestly am looking forward to all the main characters having a bigger part and using their powers. None the less I can't wait for the next installment!!

Fun series

Poet and her friends are a bit if an acquired taste, buy they are always entertaining. The world they inhabit exists in a larger universe of magical beings whose adventures and exploits find their way into other series by the same author. The crossover references are fun and make the world feel like a wider place. In looking forward to seeing where the series goes in the future.

They said nothing happens in Arkansas.....right!

Fresh from receiving Loa powers in New Orleans Poet and the rest of the gang travel to Arkansas along with a healing Uncle Sidney. Little Rock was supposed to be a calm visit as nothing ever happens there as paranormals are rare.....but when has anything gone to plan for the circus.

A new breed of paranormal for me. I love how engaging each book is and how the characters continue to grow.

That's So Craven

Poet and Mystic Caravan go to Arkansas. Poet is coming into her new powers now that she knows what she is. Then life threw her a curve ball in what should be quiet Little Rock.

This story and the other related stories are going in an interesting direction.

I eagerly await the next book!

An Enjoyable Story

I actually had other things on my Agenda today besides ignoring chores to read this book. I actually read this one without skipping ahead—something of a change. Ms. Lee has spent quite a number of pages in doing crossovers of her books. While it’s quite entertaining to see the various storylines connect, it does mean changing focus for a reader. I’m going to be watching how the move to Moonstone Bay changes this series with interest.

Freaky

Poet Parker is my favourite character. She's strong, smart, funny, moral and most of all human.
Book 15 is a triumph in this series and I'm happy to say it doesn't look like it's going to end with a coffee shop, a wedding and a ghost living in a house she's inherited. An original bad ass humble young woman. I love her!

A really good book

Wow, what a great book. Poet is really coming into her powers now. The magical circus folk have a Craven and a Warlock to contend with. They have help from the Loa's, Baron and Brigitte. Poet spends a little time with her Uncle Sidney before they move on. I can't wait to read the next book.
