I am very confused by this story. This had SO much potential but there was just too many plot points with little to no background or explanation. The hero was not sexy and the heroine was a brat and not in a fun way. Too much sexual talk among everyone and the romance got lost, along with the story. I honestly have no idea what I read.

The MMC says he won't do anything without his fated mate's consent and acknowledges that she isn't lycan and he needs to court her. Then the next time he sees her, he tackles and bites her (forcing her to be his mate) without her consent and the people she thought were her friends and protectors basically give him their permission to do whatever he wants to her. When she realizes nobody is going to help her, she has a very brief moment of anger over her choices being taken away and then suddenly decides she's on board. It made no sense to me why she would suddenly change her mind, especially since she doesn't know him at all. They are strangers.
I made it partway through their first sex scene and just had to stop. The MMC (101 year old, likely experienced male) treats his "mate" (barely adult, virgin) like a child, calling her his "little lass" and making her sit on his lap while he feeds her. He also knew she was his mate when she was actually a child, and he intentionally didn't try to claim her because she was so young. It's obvious in the way he treats her that he still thinks of her as a kid. If he was treating her as an adult, as his equal, the "little lass" bit and feeding her on his lap wouldn't bother me as much, but combined with the rest, it all just comes across as gross to me.
Even if I could get past the age and consent issues, the way he treats her when they start to have sex was a total turn off. He's rough, making her choke until she cries during oral and then orders her around. She doesn't object to this, but it bothers me reading it. The worst part though, is when she doesn't follow his instructions to the letter he threatens to discipline her like a naughty child. I didn't read further to see if he does or if it gets better. She's clearly not his equal or even someone he cares enough about not to treat badly. That's just not something I want to read.

The heroine feels like she lives all her life in a cage but she only wants freedom for guess what? To party! I mean it seems a little shallow. Overall she gave the impression of a brat and not a princess with exceptional manners.

Weirdly bad. If this is your first Jacks book, try again.
Disjointed. Paint by numbers. Very ABC. The relationships were shallow, no depth. Constant whip lash.
Disappointed but there have been a couple from Jacks that have left me sad like this and then the next one is always so much better.

This was so hard to read! DNF and barely was able to skim through to 24% hoping it would get better. No idea why it has such good reviews.
They start talking about the princess and “her kind” like we should know what the heck a Kilselian is. I still don’t know. Maybe it’s a human? 🤷🏻♀️
Also, at the very beginning he is thinking about his heavy balls…
“My balls are so heavy with seed, I’m surprised they haven’t detached and splattered onto the deck.”
What the hell? That doesn’t sound sexy AT ALL.
I don’t know what’s going on in this book. None of it makes sense and since it’s short, I don’t think the author has the time to make it make sense.

It fell a bit short tbh.
There were a lot of potential to this book, and a lot of things I liked. However, I felt like things were a bit rushed and glossed over. The whole thing with the Alpha Female felt extremely anticlimactic and I never actually understood what exactly it was she had done or was doing.
This really pulled the book down for me.

this book had potential, the world-building and the species here are interesting, faeries, lycans, etc. The biggest disappointment for me in this book is the spicy scenes are short as hell, yes it has 3-4 scenes, but every one of them feels like “wham bang thank you ma’am”, where’s the heat???? where’s the passion???? I was so excited to read this since I saw there’s lycan.
On top of that, the writing is not really good either, some parts are super confusing. Idk, but i don’t think i’ll read any books from this author again.

This is a voluntary Advanced Reader Copy review of ‘Lycan and the Princess’. First off, what a fantastic sentence to start this story. It had me laughing, knowing this story was going to be exciting and thrilling. Having read the previous series, there are parts that make sense, but to those who haven’t read the previous stories, do so. This book, was a one sitting read, and I am looking forward to the next book. I hate giving away the good parts, because I enjoy the twists and turns it takes to get to the perfect for this story ending, and the start of the next book. Be prepared to be awestruck!

If going for different fated mate they banged it in one go
So hated it . loathed it actually .we got the free with not only body but sex in general fae, but up that one level by 2,000 and have it set in fae mating season .Where I gather it doesn't matter if they are with their mates or love of their life and can just sex it up ..because ,hello, biology dictates they must get it on ...well everyone but the virgin fae mate to the lycan .
She's pretty much a looked at her sexy clothes but Virgin in all manner that matters .
So what did I find so distasteful? The over sexual way absolutely EVERYONE was acting toward EVERYONE. We read about how sexy the female fae bodies are from the main male view . How pretty much everyone is sexy and why ..I mean they are barely dress and its smell to entice you to feel desire toward everyone ....what the problem? It was shallow ,no plot and I have a problem with the my mate finds you sexy and sex worthy but ill benefit from it in the bedroom,table,outside,woods,deck, oh , dang it , where ever I decide to drop pants,lift frock or whatever to have sex .
As fated mates this tarnished it and made it trivial for me.I did not enjoy the shallowness of it at all . Need I harp on the virgin????? Because that's getting old fast as well. The man is all kind of sexed it up with droves of lovers but she's always virgin? I mean the man has to sleep with someone's daughter, sister,mother ...right? 😒

It doesn't make any sense
I wanted to like the story and I liked the synopsis, but the plot doesn't make any sense because of all the loose threads that are introduced and never picked up again. For instance, in first part of the book it mentions how the male lead was disappointed the female lead didn't remember or recognize him from when they met at her father's court, then that thread is just left hanging. At one point the female mentions not wanting to be forced to take a mate, but then when the male lead jumps on her and claims her with his bite she kind of pokes at him in anger and throws out a couple off-hand comments and then that's the end of it. The story ends up feeling like it's pretty much just some loose threads of plot between a bunch of sex scenes, which really aren't even that appealing because the male lead treats her like a dog, literally making her retrieve a blanket between her teeth and drag it back to him on her hands and knees -- it's just disturbing. I'm not halfway through and continually asking but what about x, or y, or z, and frustrated the story is proceeding as if those plot points weren't brought up and still hanging.

This is one of the times where I saw a pretty book cover and got taken in. Unfortunately, the book was not as pretty as the cover. Honestly, I would give this 1.5 stars, but rounded up because Goodreads doesn't apparently believe in half stars.
This had potential. The premise was interesting. Who doesn't enjoy a fated mates sort of book. Where it failed was in the execution. It felt like there was missing bits of world-building that seemed important that did not make it into the final draft. There wasn't further explanations to the class systems and races set up within the world which made it hard to follow. I had so many questions.
Another was the style of writing. I didn't think it was necessarily terrible, but it did contain a lot of modern euphemisms. Which threw me all the way out of the fantasy world that had been built. Just when you started to get into the world, BAM, modern euphemism. Which was unfortunate.
Now I'm never gonna yuck someone's yum, but I will say that the use of the word "knob" in this story is next level uncomfortable. I get it. I really do. I've read enough monster romance at this point to be pretty nonchalant about anything, but "knobs" was ridiculous.

ALMOST PERFECT, here some things to improve
I definitely love this book. This is the first time I found a high quality werewolf book in Kindle. One that is written with intelligence and art mixed with a bit of laughter and lots of hotness.
I was sure this book is perfect until I realize some flaws. However it is still deserving 5 stars.
I would love to see author improving:
1. Get grammar check, there is a few of errors such as the lack of space on “Isheriek” on a beginning of a certain chapter and other grammatical errors.
2. Be more brave to write drama. The moment after Princess was healed and awaken after her attack by Kenna, she literally was written as if she was a robot who just got knocked down and then just stood up to continue finishing her errands. The drama of Alpha almost lost his lass was just so insufficient. I think author needs to learn writing dramatic climax from authors such as Natasha Knight, Neva Altaj, and many other mafia romance authors. They though not write any werewolves genre, but they are very good with drama and amazing climax before epilogue.
Pretty much that. I do appreciate the intelligence presented in this book however. Because I can really see when an author is smart and lack of smartness. It’s all depicted on their writings.

An entertaining shifter movie with great characters and snd wonderful story you’ll enjoy
She was a princess and she came from a very different life and had very differential expectations and its apparent that the horde that has taken over her father’s kingdom and as she is forced to watch on from the hiding spot, she had been placed with she knew it was unlikely she would ever return to her people and the life she had once known.
Imagine her surprise when she is to discover that a tall and handsome warrior that is known by the name of Lenox has decided that in fact the Princess of Kilseleian is his mate and now that he has bitten her, he has imprinted his shifter scent so that others will know instantly she is his mate.
He is a Lycan and is determined that she is his mate and that they are meant to be together however she is not so sure and he knows that he has his job cut out, his clan is not so welcoming and this does not help however Lenox is sure she is his one and only and will do everything to keep her.
I assure you that you will love every moment of this book it is simply a fantastic read.

There's just something so delicious about Milana Jacks completely outrageous OTT alpha holes. I think it's the fact that you never know what's going to come out of their mouth that makes the interactions between characters so funny. I know that the reviews are very mixed about this book but for me it ticked all the boxes. I wish it had of been longer though because it felt like the issue with the alpha female was very anti-climatic and the constant in your face sexual energy from the fae court sounds exhausting 😅.
The book can be read as a stand alone but I think there were previous books from the savages series (or maybe the book about the summer fae king?? I cant remember since its been awhile since i read those) that give more insight into gloriana's upbringing. Either way, I truly enjoyed the book and now have an overwhelming desire to reread all her other books 😂

So, a few things we know is that the summer fae throw one hell of an ongoing mating season party, Lycan’s are quite the hot commodity in the magic world, everyone wants a piece (and yes that means exactly what you think it does), and never ever mess with a Lycan Alpha’s mate. All great things to know, so you are welcome with the advice.
Safe read, with a sexy Lycan that can rock a kilt, and apparently gives off quite the mating scent, and he comes to claim his dirty little lass princess. Got some new favorite characters, including his sister, his bestie, Rohan the Lycan pirate, and the naughty fae prince. Oh, and some chained to the bed shenanigans that had me laughing so hard. I really, really need the summer fae prince to have a book…all that naughty goodness definitely needs a book. He is just so ornery, and obviously naughty af. An epilogue and a hea. Next book please.

Lennox is an alpha Lucan. He is old, very old. His mother was fae and of questionable morals. His father low ranking Lucan. He has had to fight for everything all his life. When he discovers a princess is his mate and she is not Lucan, he knows he will have to conquer her too. She is young very young and has always been sequestered as a bargaining chip for her father. Just like a pawn she has been used to onward his deals with other nobility. He is not well liked and is soon overthrown. She flees to the summer court where she believes she is promised to the fae prince. The problem lies in the fae king is young and soon to wed. His brother will have little or no chance to rule nor does he wish to. Plus she has been claimed as a mate by the Lucan alpha. Lycian’s mate for live and only once.

It was missing some world building and chance to connect with the characters.
There is back ground and history mentioned but not really detailed and explained. It felt like I should've already knew what was going on, but didn't.
Like the savages. Are we supposed to know what they are? Are they human?
Same thing with the miners. They have magic obviously, but what are they? What do they mine?
It also doesn't really tell us what a half cycle or cycle is or what a turn is.
Its a passage of time but there should've been a guide before the story explaining this.
The spice was okay, not too bad, but also, not my favorite.

This was ok. I don’t know if there is a connected book or series but I felt out of the loop through some of it. The world building here is very mediocre. Characters are a bit shallow.
There is a supernatural age gap. He’s 101 and she’s 18. He spotted her while she was still a kid. I don’t think he banged anyone else while he was waiting to claim her. If he did it wasn’t specifically addressed. He’s definitely not interested in anyone else. He jealous of any male attention she garners and does his part to repel unwanted female attention.

I was FAR from charmed by this story. The Alpha was a totally disgusting, prick and for a princess she was WAY too young/submissive/virgin. He was considering having her lick her "mess" off the floor....and had her choking on his cock until she had tears. 😭 What?! YEAH, go F*ck yourself buddy! Uggh, I was uncomfortable and grossed out. Not sexy AT ALL. Plus, I hate a doormat female lead with zero grit.

What an amazing story. Ms Jacks never disappoints. Lenox found and saved his mate from her enemies and then she disappeared. Gloriana is a Kesileian princess and is hiding in the Summer Court after seeking asylum. Her father's enemies want to harm her. Lenox has found her and been given permission to persue her from her protector. Will Lenox be able to convince her that she's his fated mate and live happily ever after?

Really Enjoyable Read
Well worth reading. Lots of humour and laugh-out-loud moments. Truly an amazing enjoyable read. I'm looking forward to more!
However, would've called this Book #2, from Book #1 of 'The Royal Obsession'.. of the Obsession series... as it does have large numbers of characters from it, interconnecting them. And I strongly suggest reading 'The Royal Obsession' before this book, as it will explain a lot.

Not an in depth story.
I love werewolf and wolf shifter stories. Especially fated mates. I read the first book with the summer fae king and enjoyed it enough to want to continue with the Lycans. This story though was...disjointed...choppy...hard to follow. I also like a good storyline. Not that this wasn't a good story but there was a lot of mindless cock time. The actual story started at 85% and I skimmed to get there.

1st time reading from this author!
At 1st this story was a little different to read. We have a K princess who was groomed to married some one to make her father more profit . Then her dad was killed & she was hidden with the simmer prince. She is fated mate with a Lycan who is a wolf/warewolf. He let her go til she was 18 & then he went to get it. I didn’t sense much of drama in this story. It wasn’t bad but it didn’t wow me like I wanted to.
