In this complement to the bestselling "Battlefield of the Mind, " Meyer masterfully illustrates how three of the greatest men of the Bible--Jehosaphat, Gideon, and Elijah--came through their own time of crisis with victory by allowing God to fight their battles for them.

I learned so much from this book. Reading it was a turning point in my life. I learned to have peace in not knowing and not always doing. That everything is not "on" me...but that the battles belong to the Lord. I serve Him by loving and serving others while He fights my battles. I don't have to struggle and everything in my life doesn't "depend" on me.
Good thoughts but I have a couple of issues. 1). Joyce is a great speaker, but she writes exactly how she speaks. This doesn't translate well on paper. Sometimes the sentences were so run-on that I would be confused by the end! 2). While I thought many of the points were good, sometimes it felt like a guide for being successful and getting what you want. I know many extremely devout people who are not successful and have many tribulations. I don't believe there's a way to get more or less blessings from God based on your actions.
This is an amazing book it makes you look at yourself and know that we take on too much ourselves and try to figure it out to the very little detail and it's not our battle it's the Lords. What an insight into worshipping.
Joyce Meyer released this book in 2002, but the message within is timeless. That’s why I am drawn to reading them. I always finish her books with more wisdom, and who doesn’t want more of that?
The book is broken down into two parts:
Part 1: The Battle Belongs to the Lord
Phase 1 deals with fear and the impact it has on our lives. I especially enjoyed reading the account of Jehoshaphat and how he was victories in defeating in enemies because of his willingness to hear and wait upon the Lord.
Phase 2 – Admit Your Dependence of God – In this section we read where Jehoshaphat admits his total inability to deal with the problem. In this phase, the reader will discover the importance of letting God do what cannot be done themselves. Emphasis is given on the importance of waiting upon the Lord for an answer.
Phase 3 – Take Your Position - Have you considered that kneeling and uplifted hands are battle positions? Throughout this phase, readers are given insight on the various forms of worship used to worship and praise the Lord. Transformation occurs through worship. It enables the person worshiping to receive from the Lord.
Phase 4 – The Lord Brings Deliverance – The story of Gideon is revisited. It’s amazing what happens when people choose to seek God rather than live in fear.
Part 2 – Transformed Through Worship
This section begins with the story of Elijah and how he triumphed over his enemies. Then later in the book we read about King David, Joseph and Esther. I’ve read their stories many times; but now realize I missed some very important points. I’ve discovered from reading this book, how God is magnified through worship. When we lift up our hands in adoration to Him; when we sing as a means to worship Him; when we humbly bow our heads, gets on our knees, or lay prostrate on the floor; when we give thanks and praise to God with our words. All these things delight the Lord when done with a sincere heart.
I read the chapter, Worship God with a Pure Conscience twice. God created us to have a conscience. With it, we are able to discern what is pleasing to God and what is not. Joyce Meyer makes a valid point. “We cannot properly worship God with known sin in our lives. The confession of sin should be the prelude to real worship. We must approach God with a clean conscience. There is no peace for the person with a guilty conscience.” This chapter provides guidance and wisdom on how to worship God with a clear conscience.
Joyce Meyer is an excellent teacher of the Word. What she says is backed up with Scripture, including an explanation or meaning of the verse. She openly shares her life experiences and how the Lord dealt with her. For me that’s a winning combination. She gives hope and encouragement that no matter the size of the battle, the Lord is in control, and He will fight it for us.
4'5⭐️. Muy bueno para crecer espiritualmente aunque la traducción tiene varias faltas ortográficas que hacen que pierdas un poco la atención de la importancia del contenido.
Do you want to learn how to tap into the power and prescence of God through worship. Turn your struggles over to God for victory. Confront and conquer fear and anxiety, and to release Gods power to change your life? If so this book is a great guide to do just these things.
I am a huge fan of Joyce Meyer. I watch her all the time on tv and enjoy her wisdom and sermons. When my mom lent me this book I was excited to read it, especially because it is the first book I would read by her. There is so much great insight in this book. It made me think about the way I worship a bit differently, and opened my eyes to a slightly different perspective on God and his love for his children. I recommend this book to anyone who loves God and wants to open some doors on the different ways to communicate and worship him. A great feel good read. Five stars.
The bible tells us that we are defeated in life because we do not have the right information. The battle is not with flesh, but with evil deamons, which posses humans to carry out ther evil plan. This book has taught me that to be victorious in life me need to keep our eyes on christ and his finished works, how he lived, how he handled every situation. And there is great power in praise and worship. The devil and his deamons flee from people that praise and worship God in truth and spirit.Instead of wasting time complaining,arguing,back-biting,Let us learn how to worship God and keep our minds fixed in and on his perfect laws.......
Great devotional book to read on a daily basis and to be reminded of how to trust in God, for situations that don't seem right. It also is a great book to encourage and inspire you to live in the trust of God, but also to live in the warfare of God (which is NOT a physical war, but a spiritual war fought in the spiritual realm, not in the physical realm). Recommeded reading for sure!
Loaned to me by my mother-in-law at a particularly difficult time in my life, I found this book to be truly inspirational. Joyce Meyer has a way of wording things that makes the advise she gives seem so personal and heartfelt. I would highly recommend this book to anyone.
I wish I could give this book more than 5 stars. Reading this was really a turning point for me. God is right, His people really are destroyed for a lack of knowledge. Reading this book and applying the principles really helps ensure victory....it helped me so much and continues to do so.
Great book. Great dialogue. Felt as if I was holding a conversation about worship. Very easy to read & to understand. Some repetition but when one needs a point drilled into them, repetition is what works.
Awesome read. Learned a lot from this book. Its been a lot of help. Teaches me to rely on He who can fight and win all my battles for me. He already won one on the cross, there is not any other battle He can't win. Highly recommended to anyone who needs uplifting...x
Very good book, with a very good message. The only reason I gave it a three star is because it was very slow-moving at several parts. But it still doesn't take away the message of the book, which is one we ALL need to hear.
Starting it again tomorrow. I've really been struggling and this book, the ragamuffin gospel and ashes to beauty are my goth books. The Bible is still number one but the comfort of these three books really help.
Meyer uses examples of Biblical figures who allowed God to fight their battles for them. It's a book about letting go of our need for control and giving the type of things that we spend too much energy fighting with to the Lord. An enormously helpful book for anyone at any place in their faith.
With God There is no hopeless cases and no situation is beyond His ability to deliver and redeem. The Battle Belongs To The Lord and He will always win it for us.
