Summers in Seaside meant time with Nana, my sisters and an entire season at the beach.

Nana always took care of everything far in advance, so it shouldn’t be surprising that she’d planned renovations for after she passed.

However she failed to mention said plans to anyone.

So imagine my surprise, when I’m awoken by the blasting sound of a skill-saw practically coming through my wall, the first official morning of summer break.

Not only did I come flying out of bed swinging, but I gave Ryan, the unsuspecting carpenter the surprise of his life, when I came wielding my killer coat hanger and all. Too bad, I was only in a tank and undies and it wasn’t nearly as effective as I’d hoped.

Of course, Ryan insists Nana paid for this project in full and he’s only doing his job.

But my sisters and I must make this summer memorable without Nana. It was her final request. I refuse to let a tall, pesky, sexy as sin, know-it-all get in our way. Nope - not a chance.

For the next few weeks, I do my best to ignore Ryan - until my youngest sister throws down a dare I can’t back down from.

Kiss the next single guy who walks up to the bonfire - or explain to my sisters why I get riled up over Ryan.

When Ryan suddenly appears, I know I’m screwed in more ways than one.

Not only will my sisters find I’ve been keeping a secret, but from the determined look on Ryan’s face, I’m afraid he’s eager to reveal it to the world as well.

What have I gotten myself into?

As I walk toward him, one thing is certain - this summer dare will either make or break me.

I don’t think I’m the audience for this book. I found it quite juvenile and think it’s more for the new adult readers.

Lanie has come to the home of her beloved grandmother for the summer like she and her sisters have for many years. But this time it’s very sad as her grandmother passed way earlier that year. She arrives a few days early and discovers before her grandmother died, she arranged to have the siding redone when the siding guy comes to work on it. He’s very close to her age, recently turned 21 and coincidentally they go to the same college. They fall in love.
The end.

Yep, that’s pretty much it. There’s no real conflict and they’re too young for them to have developed anything real serious and they both have a couple of years left. I will soon be exiting my60’s. (I KNOW!! I still feel like I’m in my early 40’s) and I have nothing whatsoever in common with these young people. That’s why I’m totally the wrong reader for this book. They are still way too young for either a HEA or HFN.

I absolutely loved Lanie and Ryan! From beginning to end the chemistry between the two was off the charts. Lanie comes to stay at her Nana’s house who passed away, for the summer. Ryan was hired by Lanie’s grandma almost a year before to do some repairs in her house. Of course Lanie has no idea. Their first meeting is kinda funny, but from there it seems like Lanie and Ryan want to spend more time with each other. As time goes on and they spend more time together, their chemistry just gets stronger. Will a summer romance turn into more? How will her sisters feel about him when they arrive? Will they convince Lanie that she really likes Ryan. A little summer dare may help her out. Wait til you find out what happens in the end! This book is a page turner and will make you want to keep reading.

I enjoyed this book. It offered an enticing blend of heart, humor and heat that easily got me out of my own head and let me relax. The chemistry sizzles and the feels simmer as this entertaining romance unfolds and I thought it was a great way to get my read on. This is my elective, objective review.

The Summers in Seaside series has been awesome, and I know I'll be spending all my summers there going forward by revisiting all these amazing books. The Summer Dare has so much goodness in the pages that I devoured it in one sitting, and then wanted more. Lanie & Ryan's journey was super fun & kept me laughing quite a bit. Their banter was witty & the chemistry was thick, and they didn't sit around over thinking things, nope, they took a chance on each other without a ton of drama surrounding them but there was a bump or two. This story was filled with heat, humor, and a fantastic supporting cast that had me glued to the pages. To see how it started (it was hilarious), what happened, and how it all played out, you'll have to hit those one click buttons & trust me, you want to know as I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

A cute, quick easy summer read that left me smiling and laughing at times. Lanie and Ryan had some good banter and chemistry. They’re romance started fast and they had a couple bumps on the way, but they just fit together. They realized they had lived close together in the same towns, but it took fate to make them cross paths. I enjoy how Amanda Shelley overlaps her characters between some of her books because it makes me want to keep reading more.

Another gorgeously steamy and fun summer Seaside quick read. This is the turn of Lanie, visiting Seaside for the season to stay in her deceased Nana's home with her sister. Ryan is the contractor Nana paid to complete renovations on the property (epic beyond the grave matchmaking skills). These two have some seriously adorable and heated chemistry and they deserved their HEA after the Hallmark levels of miscommunication and misunderstanding.

This is a great, quick read with characters I really enjoyed getting to know. Lanie and Ryan click very well, there's a sweetness there as well as a build up of heat. I loved the connection that Lanie and her sisters have with their grandmother's house and the tradition they have of being there for the summer. Ryan has great heart and that kept the pages turning. The story flowed well and enjoying every moment. This is my first read by this author and will not be the last.

Lanie is returning to the beach side home of her Nana for the first time since her passing. She spent every summer of her childhood here with her sisters: twins Raven & Sloane and youngest Lizzie, and is the first to arrive for their upcoming summer together.

But her plans don't go as expected when on her first morning she's rudely awoken and finds Ryan on her front porch with a chain saw. It seems Nana arranged and pre-paid for extensive outdoor home maintenance without their knowledge.

As the summer goes by, Lanie and Ryan grow closer until one night, Lanie is dared by her sisters to kiss the first suitable bachelor that walks towards their group. Of course, it turns out that someone is Ryan! A romance ensues...

I read this book all in one sitting and really enjoyed it! It's a sweet romance with some spicy scenes and I enjoyed their characters as individually, as well a together. I was happy to learn that there is a semi-connected world to this collection of books and will be going through them and reading!

The Summer Dare by Amanda Shelley is part of the Summers in Seaside series was a fabulously hilarious read that will leave you smiling. This is the perfect t story about fate, chance encounters and finding love.

After Lanie’s Nana does, Lanie and her sister try to honor her dying request so they’re on a mission to make this summer the best yet and go to stay at Nana’s house. What Lanie doesn’t realize is that before she dies, Nana hired a sexy charismatic carpenter to fix her house—and let’s just say their first encounter was totally memorable and utterly hilarious. And the sparks just keep flying—especially after one simple summer dare.

Lanie and Ryan had the perfect amount of chemistry and hilarious banter and I absolutely loved them together! I loved how well the story flowed and the character development was perfect! Overall this story was the perfect blend of feel good ingredients, love, humor and just the right amount of heat!

A good summer read💗💗

I really enjoy this story. It was sweet, funny and down to earth. Melanie is going to the place she will always called home. She is feisty, funny, beautiful and sweet. Many things have changed for Melanie and her sisters and trying to make it the best. She is woke up by something and she is ready for war when she realize her mistake. Then she meets this good looking fella. Ryan is amazing. He is handsome, smart, guarded and sweet. He is doing work when he is confronted by Melanie. He is done standing on the sidelines and ready to make a move. I love these two together! Their chemistry is explosion and get along very well. I was sad when it ended abruptly. I wanted more. The writing was done good and it was easy to get sucked into the story. I don't know why it took me so long to read it but I'm happy I did. Great work Amanda Shelley!

This is a book in The Summer in Seaside series and it is Lanie and Ryan's story. When Lanie and Ryan met things didn't go as planned but they had great chemistry and had you laughing with the forward and backward banter between them and they are so perfect for each other and the more time that they spend together other feelings start to grow but will it last past the summer and turn in to something special and real, well you will just have to read this book to find out what the outcome will be for them. The characters and storyline pulled you in and kept you turning the pages and I couldn't put it down and I definitely recommend you read this book and you will not be disappointed.

A cute romance read. This was a feel good story, Lanie and her sisters is on an summer adventure filled with good memories of their grandma. As Lanie take the time from the loss of her grandma she finds a surprise waiting for her at the beach cottage. Ryan wasn’t expecting Lanie but as their chemistry builds up so does their romance. What happens next was a a sweet romance story that doesn’t disappoint. I enjoyed the easy to read storyline and likable characters with a sweet HEA.

Lanie and Ryan's story is one that I enjoyed. It's a quick, fun and sweet story. I loved the chemistry between the MCs, their banter is always so entertaining. This was a sweet romance so easy to read I loved it. The girls lose their grandma and decide to go on a trip to seaside & she ends up meeting a man there who she ends up falling in love with. They are so perfect for each other. I loved reading their romance it was swoon worthy. I would deff recommend this one!

I moved this up my reading list because of the location, a not so small town on the Oregon Coast, a place I have fond memories of. While I liked the story, it didn't have that 5 star sizzle for me. The characters were developed and there is some good spice in the bedroom, but no real angst, sexual suspense, or drama. In short, there just wasn't enough depth. Still, an enjoyable romance.

According to the book Damien, everyone graduated college already. But Ryan supposedly still has senior year to go. Even tho his Freshman year was the same as Vanessa and Vince........ he's a year older than they were at the end so he's definitely not younger.

I was introduced to Ryan in Damian, an earlier book by the author. Ryan was attracted to that heroine of that story; her twin brother was his best friend. Ryan never acted on his attraction to the heroine and ultimately watched her fall in love with someone else. When, at the end of the story, the author mentioned several of her other books, I immediately read Ryan's story in this book. Ryan was a quiet but admirable secondary character in the other book, so I was pleased to learn that he was going to have a HEA in this one. The book was a good read; the story was a quick, light read. He and Lanie made a good couple. However, I felt that the story could've been developed more, which is why I rated it a 3 instead of a 4. It's still worth reading.
