Anna's always done what's expected of her and when her grandfather passes away and she no longer has to be his caretaker, she applies to the local university and gets accepted. To celebrate, she and her best friend head out to their favorite bar to celebrate. There she meets Hayden who takes her home for one unforgettable night before he heads to Thailand on a doctor exchange. Hayden loves his work as a plastic surgeon but hates the lifestyle that accompanies it. He didn't really want to practice in a clinic again, but going thousands of miles away to escape reminders of the damage he causes those he loves seems fitting. What he didn't expect was for Anna, who he'd only spent one night with, to show up on his porch asking for a place to stay. He can't turn her away in a foreign country, especially after she confides that instead of going to school, she spent her entire savings on a plane ticket to come see him. With Hayden running from the past and Anna running from the future--will they allow themselves to embrace the present?
Title: Monkeys and Mayhem Author: Kimberly Loth Genre: NA Romance Format: Ebook Pages: 162 Rating: 5 Heat: 5
Thoughts: What a great story! I truly felt like I got to see a part of the world I’ve never seen before, add that with a cute romance and it’s just perfect. If I were single I would totally do what Anna did, sometimes you just have to buy a ticket you can’t really afford to follow a whim you have no idea if it will work or not. Other than some time, you don’t really lose anything, and the experiences you’ve gotten during this spontaneous adventure are sure to stick with you. Hopefully you’re lucky enough to meet someone like Hayden, sweet, hot, and totally gets the important things in life. And if you can’t just take off on some spontaneous adventure, reading about one can be just as exciting!
Please note that I received a complimentary copy of this work and chose to write a review.
This is a frustrating book. It was a good story and clean in the fact that there is no bedroom scenes. However, they say sex often with implication and swear. Also it goes with the field they are talking about. It was good in that fact and why I kept reading. Would I recommend it? Well, not sure I think so but I would be hesitant. I like how he finally fought for her though. I liked her she is sweet and pushes out of her box. That's why it's a mix.
This review is from: Monkeys and Mayhem (Omega Mu Alpha Brothers Book 4) (Kindle Edition)
I've had the opportunity to read each book in this standalone series. Each involves one of the Omega Brothers.
Ms Loth has created a captivating love story about having the audacity to be brave towards change and love despite personal fears. It has witty and warm hearted facets that will tug at the heart strings. The flow of story is fast paced. She uses raw emotions, brilliant characterizations, and spell binding world building.
Hayden is a reconstructive surgeon, who is loved by family and friends. He has been hurt in the past, and refuses to try again. Anna has dedicated most of her life taking care of her grandfather. When he passes, she's in an impasse. Her good friend suggests she let loose and enjoy life. While out one night, she will meet Hayden and they will have a fantastic night together. Hayden will leave for Thailand, and out of the blue Anna will show up at his doorstep. What happens next? What may their future have in store? My advice is to get the book, read it, and then you will know.
I recommend this to readers who love an inspiring love story about taking a chance on love.
I received an ARC and I chose to voluntarily write this honest opinion.
#1 millionaire Hayden can't stand the wives of his career. He's seen sweet women turn into plastic witches. Taking a job in Thailand, it's time for one last night out before his adventure starts. Anna lost the last of her family 6 months ago. Her best friends is leaving for a year, and where does that leave Anna? On an adventure to Thailand to discover herself. After a 1 night stand with Hayden she flies out to see him. Things between then are rough. Hayden doesn't do commitment, and Anna is letting go for the 1st time. Things happen, and it seems these two down a home that shouldn't have been dug. It takes a few people to help these 2 get back to a place they need to be. It's a good closed door story.
Hayden and Anna’s story was an absolute adventure. Anna was ready to start living her own life, going to school, finally…. But one night with a handsome stranger had her reevaluating what she wanted for her life. Hayden loved his job, but also hated it. He hates the vapid self absorbed wives of his colleagues. So he has vowed no relationships. I absolutely love Anna & Hayden’s adventure. Anna took a huge leap, she traveled to go surprise Hayden. I love the friendships that were made, the chemistry between Anna & Hayden, Hayden’s dog was a sweet heart too. This was angsty, but also sweet & swoony & hot.
This is book 4 in Omega Mu Alpha Brothers series & is a stand alone however, each book follows one of the brothers. This one follows Hayden who is a reconstructive surgeon. A sweet & fun non-traditional romance novel that takes place in a exotic setting. With entertaining character's that are realistic with real emotions and flaws. The character & worldly description's were very detailed. The supporting character Ubon was so funny & really enhanced the story. I volunteerly reviewed an advanced reading copy of this book.
Spontaneity. Sometimes being spontaneous yields life changing risks. Anna learns this after losing her grandparent and no longer wanting to be a CNA. Breaking the chain is what Hayden learns to keep the girl. I like how Anna takes a risk albeit tipsy to find Hayden after a one night stand. I like how Hayden chooses to release his inhibitions and takes a different career path. Love can conquer distances and mend strife. I purchased a copy from the author’s website and voluntarily leaving an honest review.
This has been my least favorite in this series. It’s a cute series but this book gave me all the creeps which is weird since I literally read everything. I couldn’t get over her flying to Phuket after a one night stand expecting to stay with the dude for a month without even reaching out first. Also spending her literal last dollar on her flight no money for food etc. my logical brain thought it was absolute ludicrous. I mean I read like psychopath books and this turned me off more than those.

Monkeys and mayhem. The name I soon fell in LOVE with. This is the 4th in a standalone series. It was fantastic. I wasn't expecting to fall in love with the country the way I did, thru Kimberly s writing. It came alive for me. So rich in color, and well just life! This is a perfect love story... not a traditional one. Lol no spoilers!! You definitely want to read it for yourself. What are you waiting for?
These books, in this series, are amazing romances. They are truly romances and not spicy at all, it is about the fall of true love. [What we all want true love to be] So far each of these have been my "favorite" of the series, I can't pick a favorite because they are all great! And none of them maKe me roll my eyes and think ... unrealistic, which is beyond fantastic. Highly recommend this series!
This one gives me mixed emotions. A one night fling turns into her following him on social media AND then gives up school to fly to Thailand to be with a guy she met once and politely say “if you find yourself in Thailand, look me up”. Then proceeded to lie about the length of time visiting/staying and then gets upset with him because his boss assumed she was sleeping with him to stay with him.
I like the change of scenery for the story and the house maid made me chuckle.

Don’t read it if you’re Thai - the horrible cultural stereotypes this author puts in the book are crazy 😂 Housekeepers expected to perform sexual favors, jokes about unidentifiable meat at the market, and Internet cafes “full” of Thai men watching porn?????
It’s slightly better than the first book of this series, but not by much. I bought the entire series from a Facebook ad full of people talking about how great they are and I’m still mad about it.
I love how Kim always makes me feel like I am a part of the story and this book was no different. We get to see Hayden's side and understand where he is coming from as well as meet Anna. Seeing these two overcome little things to work towards being together while still having a story behind it is great. I have loved Kim's books since the first one and this one does not disappoint
Hayden and Anna have a one-night stand. When he's leaving the next morning, he pulls a Chandler and tells her that if she's ever in Thailand to look him up. (He didn't mean it.) So when she shows up, he's suspicious of her. Idiot. Ubon certainly has that right!! (Ubon is Hayden's cook and housekeeper.) Best of all, Tess and Lukas had a boy - Jack!!!
This book definitely brought some fun and quirky energy, and the “mayhem” aspect added humor to the story. The premise was unique and entertaining, though at times it leaned a bit too heavily on silliness, making it harder to connect deeply with the characters. It’s lighthearted and fun, but not one I’d call a standout. A decent read for when you want something playful and quick.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book. This was a great sweet romance. Both characters and the story pulled me in. I couldn't put the book down until I finished it. Definitely a recommended read.
Sometimes you just have to follow your heart on a whim and jump at a chance at happiness. Anna and Hayden's romance shows all the ups and downs that can happen in a whirlwind romance. I really enjoyed Ubon and how she handles Hayden on certain things
So far this is my favorite book in this series. It’s a quick, easy, fun romance. I will say my favorite characters tend to be the side characters, Ubon was perfectly funny and I loved how she pushed Hayden and Anna. Also her pretending to not speak English was perfect 😂
Another great story by Kimmy Loth. These friends have a brilliant connection and the women they connect with are all so different. When Hayden and Anna meet each other there's an instant connection. They had an amazing night together before he left the country and she went back home. She takes his offer up to go to Thailand with him. It all builds from there. They're perfect.

So I listened to this book and I honestly wonder if the Author listened to the audio at all. I’m from Michigan so the fact the Mackinac was mispronounced throughout really irked me. It wasn’t a terrible book. Your typical love story but I feel like it ended abruptly and fell flat.
3.5 ⭐️ Cute and fun and easy read! I loved that it was set in Thailand and the FMC is my favorite so far in the series! I still feel like the ending was a little rushed but I loved the cameos in the epilogue!
