This was a short book. I guess I was expecting more. But the reality of it is that there isn't much more. The answer to being stressed is to obey God. That is the answer, always has been the answer and always will be the answer. You don't need a lengthy book to relay that message.
Read for research. A lot of people in my church family like Joyce Meyer. I was not familiar with her, so I thought I'd try this. Not the sort of thing I would normally read.
Meyer's take on how to handle stress is charismatic, bordering on positive thinking and/or self-help manual. For a book written in 1998 she does strike me as being on the cutting edge (at least among evangelicals) on issues of trauma. Her theology of the prompting of the Holy Spirit was kind of annoying to me, but her broader point - that obedience in small things prepares us for obedience in larger things - is fair.
This was a book that helped me a lot with a problem that I deal with on a daily basis. If anyone out there is facing stress I highly recommend this book for them.
I own these books help me, I am stressed, Depresed, worried, anxious etc, I have only read part of the stressed one. Their of just so many books I have to read and not enough time!
