Shiloh is a tutor for Calculus. She meets Santiago which is the older brother of the student Matteo that she is tutoring. It was funny watching Shy get all tongue tied every time Tiago was around. He knew what he wanted and that was Shy.
A few inconsistencies (was Mateo a Sophomore or a Junior? POV change from 1st to 3rd person in chapter 5, and in same scene writing "Mateo" instead of "Santiago") but overall, a cute fluffy quick read.
I was not a huge fan of this book. I felt like Santiago was predatory instead of sexy. This was likely due to being written only in Shiloh’s point of view as well as how often he tried to get her to come over to his house from the first time he met her. I don’t know, something was just off for me.
This book for sure is OTT. The chemistry is instant. I like that she spoke her mind when she had questions. She wasn’t going to be a secret, going to cheat or share. I liked that he is the one having the rough go, over a skip in the giddy-up of, a budding relationship.
She is waiting on a hard library chair wasting her time, on an ungrateful hockey student. When she could be relaxing at home doing her work. Maybe sitting here like now, but with a punctual student who is more deserving of, her time and effort. During his tutoring session l last week he ghosted her. Without so much as a text, to let her know he is skipping. He asked her for a make-up session, and now, he is late. With each minute that passes, she is getting more agitated, because her time is very much desired, by others.
She is relieved when, Mateo Rivera walks in the door, with his head down and shoulders slumped. Especially, since this is how she pays for all the extras like food, her pen fetish, and her public transportation. She notices right behind, Mateo, there is an older man, not a boy, but not his father, in relation, to age. They look similar facially, in their build, and accents. Although, she could tell he is not happy with, Mateo’s actions. His hand is on his shoulder, all the way until seated next, too, Shiloh. He introduces himself as, Mateo’s brother, Santiago. She is instantly attracted to him.
Mateo already knows, he is not leaving school, to become a part of the NHL, until he graduates, from Arvon University. So, Shy teaching him Calculus is important. Not only for hockey but for his degree. Tiago and Shy, both have this magnetic pull, that seems to tug them toward one another. Tiago stays for the session, sitting on the other side of her. Where their legs kept bumping together. When the session is over he asks her, to do, a Saturday session, at double the rate, at their home. It's against the tutoring policy but it is for great cash upfront money. When Tiago finds out she took public trans, to their home, he tells her he’s taking her home. Let the courting begin. She makes it known their ten-year age difference doesn't allow him, to boss her around like her big brother.
I kept wondering, what does he do for a living? And, why exactly are his parents not in the picture? How did her brother take them as a couple? Is Mateo a sophomore or junior? Confused.
Can Shiloh overcome self doubt for a chance at a HEA?
Worth more than 5 stars. Santiago & Shiloh's story was freaking awesome. If you love age gap, instalove, college romance then I highly recommend reading this book. Shiloh is a shy, nerdy student that has been assigned to tutor the star hockey player. Santiago is the older brother of the hockey player. Their mutual attraction is immediate & there's an intensity every time they are around each other. Shiloh is suffering a case of self doubt, why would such a gorgeous guy want a plain girl like her when he could have his pick of anyone. Can Santiago show Shiloh that she is the one he wants or will her self doubt win out? I absolutely loved it & didn't want it to end. I can't wait to read Richland Renegades. I have added this author to my favourites list.

I absolutely adored Santiago. He was all growl and possession. I loved it. Shiloh was timid and adorable. She really couldn’t believe that Santiago wanted her.
This book was a fun little read. Over way too quickly, but I really liked Tiago and Shy together. I wish we had more conversations between the two that didn’t included Shy’s timid nature leading to stammering and stumbling, but I did find her adorable. I found Tiago to be incredibly sexy with his possessive protectiveness shining through all the time. They really did have good chemistry together.
This insta, age gap romance was a charming quick tale about Shiloh, a shy nerd who is tutoring students to pay her bills. One of them is a junior athlete, Mateo who she is tutoring in Calculus. His older brother, Santiago who is ten years older, sophisticated and tattooed, attends several of her tutoring sessions with his brother and there is an instant attraction between them. This a lovely quick read and both characters were likeable. The last third of the book moved along very quickly and I wish the story had an epilogue as it ends in a HFN and a glimpse into the future for this couple would have finished off the book nicely.
Shiloh is tutoring the star hockey player, Mateo, in calculus when he shows up. He is late for his tutoring session after blowing her off the week prior. This time around there is a change as he is dragged in by his older brother. There is instant attraction, but is he too old for her? The chemistry between these two is off the charts. However, it is a slow burn before they finally make something of it. Great short story with a HEA.

I know this is a new series for Jenna McCall, but honestly I didn't feel like this book "fit" into this series other than the MMC's brother is a college hockey player and ther MFC's brother is a pro hockey player from the same area. Anyway, I can't even say this was a novella, it was super short, no real character development, and Santiago came off a bit posessive after meeting Shiloh and even though she was attracted to him I was told that I didn't feel it. I didn't hate the story but didn't love it a bit of a let down after reading Dahlia Made a List and Sugar Squared.
I really enjoyed this novella. Shiloh was a total sweetheart, but nerdy. And Santiago was so totally swoon-worthy but sweet as he came in and how he planned to make Shiloh aware of him. These two had good chemistry and I liked how sweet and romantic this story was.

This dreamy slow burn novella introduces Shilo and Santiago. We don’t get much of their back stories but experience all that electric chemistry and connection of their first meeting. All the touches and glances and tension. So good!
There’s quite the age (and experience) gap here but somehow we trust Tiago to care for our Shy. So looking forward to more in this series!
I enjoy the nerd/jock love stories. The one with a new formuła is great. A hot brother plus a nerdy girl. Insta love. Good reality and background that adds to the story. Great characters and relationships among them. Great read.

A fun and entertaining read. This is a new author for me and I am looking forward to read more. The story will hold your attention till the end. The author gives us characters that your get invested into. You will enjoy this read.
Short sweet and swoony. I love a good instalove book, and I love a good nerd book. I like Shy and Santiago. It could have been longer, but it was good as a novella.
I guess it's just not my type of reading. The story had no substance, the pet names felt cringey and this whole damsel in need of saving / fragile woman theme is just not my cup of tea.

I loved this short story. Getting pieces of these characters life in "Any Bit of Luck" was so sweet. This story left me wanting a whole book of just them.
At around 70 pages long, this short novella is a perfect quick read with a few romance tropes added in.
I read it in one sitting. I would certainly like to read more about the characters and their story. I felt I didn't learn much about the main character as a person but I thought her character was perfect for the storyline.
It was a 4 star read for me. Looking forward to checking out more books by this author.
