We’ve all seen or experienced something strange at one point and thought—nobody would believe this. Horror in the Pines is a well-collected anthology series of extraordinary events individuals have endured among the trees. From sightings and strange noises to unexplainable disappearances, people are emerging from the shadows to share their stories of the unknown.
The book has stories which cover a wide range of interpretations. One of them is a case of possession. Others involve a satanic ritual, information given by a dream, a possible Bigfoot and a weird one I have never heard, a cryptid with the body of a dog and the head of a rabbit.
There's also a kidnapping which includes a witch and torture, one involving a woman who is petty much way around the bend, one which involves an psychopath and one which involves the Nevada Triangle and missing planes.
It's a wide variety of weird things, all of which are interesting.
This is probably one of Tom Lyons best works to date. Not sure if Tom's writing is getting better or he's simply found a talented collaborator in Autumn Barnes. Either way, this book will intrigue and entertain you. It's an easy read and can probably be devoured in an hour. Bravo, Tom and Autumn!
Don’t read this unless you’re in a room with all the lights on and someone is nearby; these are some of the most terrifying stories that I’ve read. Normally, books about hauntings and unexplainable events don’t bother me. But knowing these are true stories really makes the hairs on the back of your neck stand up! Happy reading!
This is another fantastic start to a frightening new series. A different version of woods horror, this focusing on other frightening phenomenon found in the woods besides cryptids like Bigfoot and Dogman. Very terrifying. The woods hide many secrets. I can't wait for more haunting stories.
Tom knows how to help people weave their strange stories into a good book. I really wished that I hadn't read this book just as I getting ready for bed as now I will have trouble falling asleep tonight! 😕😕
Every now and then I search for short stories instead of diving into a long novel. I'm happy to have another author of such a book and look forward to reading more. thank you Autumn and Tom.
Better written than some of his other books. I like that the books are short because I need a breather in between. If you take the time to read these books, then you most likely have an inkling or slight belief “things” exist in the woods.
I was looking for something short and fun to read in between larger books and this hit the spot just right!
The full book features short stories told from the perspectives of individuals involved in strange spooky happenings. It varies from possession to paranormal and everything in between for each story.
Left me wanting more at the end of every single one and I can’t wait to read the rest!
Quick read (maybe too short!) of people’s strange, unexplained and frightening experiences in woods, supposedly true. Might make you think twice about camping.
It was just okay. The last story was the best. I do believe in the unknown, but for some reason, this book didn't affect me the way other stories I've heard did.
These books are my favorite, even when I wake up abruptly in the middle of the night, I immediately grab my phone and start reading. I highly recommend
