Lynne M. Spreen writes later-in-life romance and women’s fiction that celebrates reinvention, resilience, and the rich complexity of a woman’s second act. Her debut novel, Dakota Blues, won a literary award and launched a new chapter in her life--she's up to twelve books and counting. After waiting half her life to pursue her dream of writing, she brings hard-earned insight to every story she tells.
Lynne lives in Southern California with her husband, where she balances the demands of the author life with line dancing, gardening, and the occasional round of zombie video games with her grandkids. When not writing, she’s most likely reading, researching, or quietly cheering for anyone brave enough to begin again.
Hate and jealousy to begin, love and trust ending and beginning a new life to share. An unlikely pair joined by true respect. Loved the plot engineered by a hateful and spiteful Sister who maybe knew how to endear herself to those she left behind after all. Karma stepped in to right a wrong.
Really like this book Being a senior myself this was a very exciting book because it just showed me that no matter how old you are no matter what since store for you God has something or someone got you.no!matter the age.
This book immediately transported me a lively community in the desert town of Sedona, Arizona.
Lynne is skilled at writing a story that quickly bonded me to her characters, and her descriptions of Mesa Grande Cultural Park in the Arizona desert transported me.
Slip into this group of friends with the main character Sue to experience her family history, dinners and dances and picnics, charming conversations, and romance that's expertly woven throughout a fascinating story of a personal history lived within the Mesa.
I've already started the second book in the series!
This is an emotional family dynamics story that explores family, friendship and late adulthood. The characters are loyal, stubborn but friendly. I enjoyed the characters and their uniqueness, how they shared personal experiences that shaped their lives. As i was drawn into the story, i could almost feel the desert breeze, and see the beautiful canyon views of Sedona. I recommend this book and enjoy.
Sedona AZ is the setting for this intriguing love story. I live near there and recognize the accuracy of real locations. Touches the heart on so many different levels. Loved the story of hope! I appreciated that such a deep love story can be communicated without foul language or illicit sexual details. Will read more of the author.
Starting Over in Sedona is a lovely second-chance romance featuring mature characters facing grown-up problems and challenges. Loved the sense of place the author created. I could almost smell the desert landscape! Very good in audio. Tracy Butler's narration really makes the characters come alive.
Being a tad over 60 i enjoy reading books of romance with the more senior couples. With vibrant personalities. Things aren't always written in stone because we age.
A refreshing read, I being an older woman liked that it was about a older couple of some fairly out of their teens girl and a older man. Well written and pulls you in to the story, worth your time looking forward to book 2.
This is a fast read, full of rich detail. The characters are quirky and draw you into their world. The land transports you into a more spiritual dimension. A decided cut above average on romance novels.
A widow decides to change her sad life when she hears from her sister. Unaware of how much her life will change she heads for Sedona,Az. Once there the area works it's magic and her life changes but it's getting to that point that makes the story interesting m
I loved this story, even more than the first series I read by this author! I was a little hesitant to read this book but figured I'd at least read the first one, so glad I did!
A good story of love and redemption with passion but without details, thank goodness! Makes the reader have hope about life and love again. Thank you Lynne!9
