"Don’t you know I’m completely worthless?”

Kanen Kannack lives under the shadow of alcoholism, Alaska, and his feelings for his best friend, chief of police Jamie Allen. He’s never been honest with Jamie as long as he’s known him, but Jamie’s long lost to him, living with Ephram, the love of his life.
When a new arrival in town causes Kanen to lose control in spectacular fashion, long-buried secrets are unearthed, threatening Jamie and Ephram’s happiness and the fragile life Kanen has long clung to.

There was something about Kanen’s obvious power and brooding hostility that appealed dangerously to him.

Jensen Carter is running from his past too. Broken and battered, he isn’t looking for a hero, but finds an unlikely one in Kanen anyway. In Kanen he sees a kindred soul, not someone to be afraid of.
Kanen has never been anyone’s hero. He’s down at the bottom again and battling against the tide. But the urge to protect Jensen is strong and for the first time in his life, someone wants him ,despite his many flaws and dark history.

He’d never seen his dark eyes look so wounded. His face looked raw, flayed apart. He touched the scar on his cheek, smoothing over its puckered line. “Ugly bastard,” he whispered. “No wonder you’re on your own.”

While books 1 and 2 of the Cold Love series can be read as stand-alones, book 4, Revived, is the sequel to book 3, Entangled, and as such the books should be read in order for maximum enjoyment.

The fourth book in the Cold Love series is not a standalone and is closely related to the third book. Even for me personally, it's like a mini continuation of Jamie and Ephram's love story, but this time Kanen and Jensen join the spotlight.

I can say that since the previous book, I've been curious to learn more about Kanen and his past. His image was so mysterious that from the very first chapter he surprised me with his violent temper and explosiveness.

It was no surprise that the fourth book was also an easy read, but this time much more EMOTIONAL and colored with a whole palette of feelings. It was so easy for me to immerse myself in the story and experience what was happening through the eyes of the characters.

Kanen and Jensen's first meeting was so dramatic that for a moment I was worried if things would ever work out between them. But with each subsequent page, I learned more about them and felt the chemistry between them. And she was not little.

There was a lot of sexual tension between them, and add to that the drama, more drama in the form of an alcoholic father, a crazy stalker, and an unexpected denouement. Add to this explosive mix a best friend and his fiance, who also don't stay far from trouble. And the result is more than WOW.

Again we have the element of instant lust and love, this time starting with a big misunderstanding, lots of angst and hurt/comfort moments.

I can't miss the sex scenes either. They were also beautifully described and filled with a lot of passion.

What I liked most was that Jamie and Ephram got the development that I missed in the previous book, and despite their problems and bumpy road in this book, I was able to see them happy together.

What's even better is that there's an epilogue too, so I'm left with very positive feelings from this 4th book.

The only thing I was missing was more pages. Somehow the book ended too quickly for me, and I definitely wanted MORE from Kanen and Jensen.

Pay attention to the warnings in the description or at the beginning of the book. For me, the presence of these elements didn't stop me from enjoying the story, but I love Dark MM novels.

Another enthralling addition to the Cold Love series, with out ever mysterious character, Kanen. The intensity of this one was like none other in this series, the emotions distinctive, raw, pure, and relatable. The events that transpired between all of these characters were bitter yet understandable, fierce and heated, courageous and energetic, grasping the readers attention right from the beginning.

“𝗜 𝗻𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗜’𝗱 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗯𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗵𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗮𝗻𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗲, 𝗺𝘂𝗰𝗵 𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂,”

Kanen and Jensen were unusual yet perfect for one another. Each of them having their own tragedies to overcome from their past, along with overcoming their demons, make for an emotional connection for them both. Scarlet does an impeccable job of touching on the levels of personal destruction that comes with tragedy, while discovering their self-worth and love for another. And their chemistry was that of a blazing fire exploding with every touch!

I loved this book from the series the most!
It made me think, about how you can survive all the heartbreak, the loneliness, the feeling of abandonment, the unreturned love, and unappreciated goodness underneath the rough exterior. Poor Kanen, life just kept beating and grinding him into the ground, he reached the point of no return, which almost ended his suffering forever. It was hard to read and not to burst into tears in the face of such adversity! When even your own face brings just hatred and unworthy feelings...
Thank the Universe sent hope and light into his life, someone with a such pure heart filled with love, that could cure even the shattered person and bring the pieces of his soul together, binding them to hope of a better future. Jensen did suffer too, and he is running from unspeakable danger, from someone who destroyed his living, stole his identity, and harmed him. He tries to hide, to survive under the dark cloud of his past assault.
They need each other, they can build something that would be their own, their little piece of harmony and love.
If only, the people in their lives just left them alone, then they could be happy.
A cameo with Ephram and Jamie, the couple from another book was so strong, in times I wasn't a big fan of Eph, and his treatment of Kanen. Jealousy is never attractive, but thank God all the issues were resolved in the book. And Kanen's father, ugh, just hate the guy.
Trying not to spill all the secrets in the book, I'd better stop and say- get Revived, let yourself experience it, get mad, cry, and then be rewarded with a beautiful HEA!
Another great work of Scarlet!

This is the fourth book in the Cold Love series, and while the others in the series can be read as a standalone, this is a direct follow up to the previous, Entangled. I held back a little from starting this as I just found Kanen quite unlikable in the previous book. I needn't have worried though, this was so, so good.

This time it was Jamie I found super annoying, as he really did seem to want to have his cake and eat it too. He was horrible to everyone, but thankfully did seem to kind of come around a little. He spoiled the book a little for me, not gonna lie. I did like Kanen this time though, I think getting to know him and his story better helped a lot. He and Jensen had the ultimate rocky start and I'm not sure I'd have the same tolerance and forgiveness as Jensen did. These two though together I loved. They suited each other so well and each brought balance to the other and I really liked the development of their relationship. Despite Jamie and Ephram meddling.

This is a dark MM romance though, which I was just in the mood for, and it was engaging enough that it kept me hooked all the way through. There's a lovely epilogue too that wraps everything up nicely.

This is my second favourite of the series overall, and I did come round to loving Kanen at the end of it.

I received an ARC and this is my honest review.

Book #4 in the COLD LOVE SERIES!! The wilds of Alaska is full of tough, strong men. Kanan has lived there all his life except for his incarceration stint. Jensen is using this as a place to hide from his past life. These two meet in the worst way. But deep down they know. Jensen sees Kanan as a big man who is misunderstood. Kanan sees Jensen as a beautiful effervescent man, out of his element. Making big mistakes along the way they eventually find their courage. This has a happily ever after for them. It also has a surprising wedding, just not theirs. I loved this wild ride that SCARLET BLACKWELL created. It was interesting, painful in spots and well worth it. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK AND THIS COLD LOVE SERIES!!!!!!!!!!

Ever since Entangled I've been waiting for Kanen's book so I could see him find love and get an hea of his own. Boy did he have a bumpy road too get there though. When Jensen opens a shop across the way from Kanen's the two men have a rocky start but are soon feeling things for one another. With him starting to have feelings for Jensen, Kanen has to start examining his feelings and relationship with Jamie. He realizes he's not jealous of Jamie's boyfriend he's jealous of the love and intimacy they share. He knows her can have that kind of love with Jensen. Even though Jensen has trauma and secrets from his past he wants to be with Kanen. They end up having a surprise hea of their own!

Revived is the fourth book in the Cold Love series. Kanen is Jamie’s best friend who’s he’s been in love with. He’s an alcoholic who barely has control over his alcoholism. When Jensen moves to town, they have an altercation. He’s running from his past but soon that past catches up to him. They have great chemistry and there’s crossover from Entangled featuring Jamie and Ephram. Overall, a good story.

Book 4 in the Cold Love Series and I have enjoyed them all. The intensity of the raw emotions and angst throughout the books is even more so in Kanen and Jenson's story. The internal struggles these men face in finding their place in the world is relatable in some form that everyone goes through at some point in their lives.

Kanen & Jensen

Wow! This story sucked me in and wouldn't let go. There is so much drama between all four characters of this story but they do eventually work things out only for more drama to almost have a tragic end. This is story that was definitely worth reading.

I received an ARC and this is my unbiased opinion

I’ve been waiting for Kenans story’s since reading book 3 and scarlet gave me everything I could of asked for for his book, Kanen was so grumpy it was perfect. Now this book wasn’t all sweet and cherry but I loved the dark romance aspect of this read and could not put it down.

I'm not used to reading main and major characters that are old, even older than my parents. But it seems that the author, Scarlet Blackwell, writes older characters. (I don't mind age gap stories where at least one would be my age so I could identify.)

But the age of the characters is not why I gave this incredible series and incredible story four stars. I love this series since book one. And I love the main couple, Ephraim and Jamie from book 3, Entangled, and their struggles But in Revived, I was a bit disappointed in how their situation turned out. I didn't see Ephraim as a jealous and vindictive type. And I didn't see Jamie as a horrible person. But in this book, they were both horrible people. And if I were Ephraim, I wouldn't have forgiven Jamie.

In the fourth book, we have another main couple, Kanen and Jenson. I was so happy that Kanen had this own story. But again I was disappointed in how his character turned out.

But overall, I loved the plot. And I loved Kanen and Jenson together. I can't say the same about Ephraim and Jamie though.
