A hockey/fake date/not-quite-a-virgin very wrong romantic comedy

You know those stories where an adorably misunderstood clumsy girl needs a fake date to a wedding so she asks her brother’s best friend and they accidentally fall in love?

I wish that was the kind of life I lead, but it’s not.

I don’t need a date to a wedding. I need a date to a funeral.
Clumsy sometimes fits, but then, that’s true for all of us, right? But adorable? No. Misunderstood? Nope again. I’m just your average girl, standing in front of a funeral invitation, asking it to be a winning lottery ticket instead.

And I don’t have a brother, or a best friend with a brother available, which means I’m stuck with Tyler Jaeger.

Sure, he’s a professional hockey player who also knows advanced calculus, but let’s say we’re not compatible and leave it at that. I should know. I am a matchmaker.

Not a very good one, but that’s beside the point.

I know a mismatch when I see one.

Still, Tyler’s what I’ve got, and I am not going to this funeral solo, so he’s what I’ll take.

After all—what could go wrong at a funeral?

I Pucking Love You is a hilariously wrong romantic comedy about the world’s worst matchmaker, a hockey player with a problem he doesn’t want to talk about, and an awkward date-of-convenience that everyone would prefer to forget. It comes complete with a cat working his way through his nine lives, all the sexy times, fish and chips, and a swoony happily-ever-after.

Pippa Grant wanted to write books, so she did.

Before she became a USA Today and #1 Amazon bestselling romantic comedy author, she was a young military spouse who got into writing as self-therapy. That happened around the time she discovered reading romance novels, and the two eventually merged into a career. Today, she has more than 30 knee-slapping Pippa Grant titles and nine published under the name Jamie Farrell.

When she’s not writing romantic comedies, she’s fumbling through being a mom, wife, and mountain woman, and sometimes tries to find hobbies. Her crowning achievement? Having impeccable timing for telling stories that will make people snort beverages out of their noses. Consider yourself warned.

Author's note, 3 days before release:
This cover!!! OMG, I'm so in love!!

Author's note, 1 week before release:
Once upon a time, Tyler Jaeger was a really cranky hockey player filling in for Ares Berger in BEAUTY AND THE BEEFCAKE. And once upon a time, Muffy Periwinkle was a really bad matchmaker running her own company, Muff Matchers. And they were both sorta into each other, kinda, in CHARMING AS PUCK, but then... well, then they had this night where they tried to hook up, and it didn't exactly go as planned.

And now Muffy needs someone to go with her to a funeral, and since Tyler still needs closure after that night with Muffy... well, these two are about to have a date far more interesting than anything Muffy's ever set up for a client before.

And I can't even type that without cackling at everything that goes wrong for these two poor characters.

ONE WEEK!! Tyler and Muffy will be here in I PUCKING LOVE YOU in ONE WEEK!

Author's note, 3 weeks before release:
I'm sitting in my office cackling as I tackle final proofreads today. I can't wait for this book to be live! Muffy needs a huge favor, and Tyler has no idea what he's getting into, and there I go, cackling all over about it again. Coming soon!

Author's note:
Tyler and Muffy are coming! I'm so excited - they're just about a month away!

Being back in the Thrusterverse has been so much fun, and I can't wait for this sexy, swoony romcom to land on kindles all over the world!

This is fifth in a series and has lots of characters from those stories show up and some carried-over drama. Indeed, we meet Muffy in some detail in other stories. So read those first. And maybe skip this one?

I knew this was going to be a tough sell because it "features" Muffy. And she's a completely incompetent ditz with delusional tendencies in the other books. And that is confirmed in this one with some hints of an "incident" that is at the heart of her self-image issues. I ditched out before finding out what the incident was, though, because I just couldn't take all the pathetic stupidity.

And that includes Tyler. Or, at least, Grant gave Tyler his own pathetic idiocy that mirror's Muffy's. Plus, a whole "I don't do relationships because I have sisters" negative motivation* that only makes sense if you make your character fixate on a single aspect of sibling relationships and ignore everything else (starting with how an intimate relationship with a woman is a lot different from a sibling one).

So I bogged down on stupid and found I didn't care to find out why Muffy is a space-case or about the whole "fake relationship" thing that was being setup to happen.

* Negative Motivations: I kind of hate that the term "negative motivation" isn't widespread, yet. Since it isn't, I'm going to save off this little jag to append to my reviews that feature the term. Jennifer Crusie blogged about it a bit back (or, if that link doesn't work, here's a cache of the original) and it changed how I understand story. The problem with the term is that if you've never heard it before, you'd assume it meant motivations that are harmful or immoral. Not so. What it refers to is motivations not to do something. The thing is that many of us are motivated to not do things for a lot of different, perfectly valid and reasonable, reasons. The problem is that in a story motivations to not do things are a huge drag on the plot—particularly considering the fact that most negative motivations are overcome by the character simply deciding they don't care any more (or, rather, that they do care and are now motivated to do the thing). So not only do you have a counter to action but you also have a situation where to overcome it, all a character has to do is change their mind. Which means eventually, the reader is rooting for the character to get over him/herself already and do the thing we want them to do. Conflict drives story. Conflict between a reader and a main character drives readers away from story.

The misfits!

The following ratings are out of 5:
Romance: 💙❤️💜💚💖
Steam: 🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📕📗📘📙📔
World building: 🌏🌍🌏🌍🌎
Character development: 😊😘😟😄🥰
Narration: 🎙🎙🎙🎙
Narration Type: Dual Narration

The heroine: Muffy Periwinkle - she is cousin to Kami from Charming as Puck. Muffy is a bit of a hot mess. She was kicked out of medical school in some sort of incident, and later started up a matchmaking business called Muff Matchers. Her matchmaking business is for misfits, in the last book she ended up matching Kami to a dirty old man, then the crazy ex-boyfriend of Kami’s best friend. Muffy has some self-image issues and always thinks of herself as not good enough.

The Hero: Tyler Jaeger - he is a professional hockey player with the Copper Valley Thrusters. He has been popular with the puck bunnies, and never bothers to learn their names, he thinks of them like ‘Sparkle hair’ or ‘Super tits’. Though it has been a while since he was with a woman. Now when he has the chance for a threesome, he is having mechanical difficulties. The last time he was with a woman was one that he couldn’t stop thinking about.

The Story: Muffy is completely embarrassed when her former hook-up and pro hockey player, Tyler Jaeger catches her at her secret job in a local fast-food fish restaurant called Cod Pieces. The following week she has to go to a funeral for Veda, her silent business partner and former med school BFF, and she really doesn’t want to go, especially since it is being held in the same town as their medical school (home of the incident). She can’t refuse, though she wants to go with a date for moral support. She asks her cousin’s husband to accompany her, Tyler overhears her and offers to go with her.

This story was good and there were some fantastically funny scenes. For instance, Tyler had some issues with death after his grandfather died when he was young. Muffy doesn’t tell him they are going to a funeral until they get there and his reaction to being inside a funeral home was hilarious. I also liked the fact that Tyler and Muffy were friends before they hooked up and he was protective of her.

This audiobook was done in dual points of view via dual narration. It was narrated by Aiden Snow and Emma Wilder. Aiden Snow is one of my favorite male narrators. His voice is soft yet deep and very sexy. Emma Wilder is really good at showing anxiety through her voice. It sounds a bit whiny at times, but so was the Muffy. This whole series had terrific narration, the only complaint I have was that a few of the earlier books in the series were duet narration, and I wish they all would have been.

I Pucking Love You is fun. Miss Grant is a talented rom com writter. What really bother me is the length of the book. The banter and the push and pull are too long.

I can feel the chemistry between Muphy and Tyler. They both hot together. Their sexual attraction is off the chart. Miss Grant is putting inner dialog as her writing style in I Pucking Love You.

Overall, OK read.

A truly FANTASTIC, outlandish, and romantic back half more than makes up for the slow start on this one. We'll talk about that slow start in a minute, but I've gotta talk about my love of Tyler and Muffy first. These two are the quintessential quirky couple, and their love story is SO FUNNY, offbeat, and smile-inducing... plus it's got some stellar sexual tension. Once I got a better feel for the story, I really fell for these two, and the back half was so, so good. It's low angst, playful, and 100% unique. Prepare to laugh often while reading this heartfelt rom com, because there's no way you won't fall for this couple once you get to know them.

How do I explain the plot without sounding like a crazy person? I don't think I can. Essentially, the story follows Muffy and Tyler, two semi-friends who had a not-so-sexy hookup a few months ago. While they had started to get close in a semi-friendly, semi-flirty way before the encounter, the hookup had our playboy hero running scared. Tyler's got way too many sisters to ever want a real relationship (he doesn't need one more woman in his life), so hooking up with someone he genuinely enjoys spending time with complicates matters. So does the fact that he hasn't been able to "get excited" ever since, whether he's alone or with someone else. When Muffy needs a plus one to a vaguely described event, Tyler jumps at the chance - he's hoping that figuring out where he went wrong will make everything right in his world again. But he's got no idea what he's in for.

So let's talk about that slow start. There are two things that kept me a little detached at the beginning, so it took longer than usual to love this. One, the book opens with Tyler trying (unsuccessfully) to hook up with a puck bunny or two, and I wasn't sure that I liked him for awhile. That was definitely NOT an issue later on. Two, this isn't as much of a standalone as it thinks it is. I've read pretty much everything she's written in the last couple of years, but this connects to a series from 2018-2019, and my memory of that is foggy. I felt like maybe I missed the start of Tyler and Muffy's love story, and if you're not at least vaguely familiar with the characters from her older series, then you might get overwhelmed at times. Once I settled into the story a bit, that was no longer a problem.

So how does this still get 5 stars from me? Because the rest of the book was that good.

I absolutely LOVED Tyler and Muffy together after around the 30% mark, and then it was just a fantastic read from then on. Tyler is positively SWOONY, and I loved the way he lifts Muffy up. There are some great moments of building up Muffy's self-esteem, connecting on a deeper level, and realizing that you need to love yourself before you'll be ready to accept love from someone else. That's what makes this such a great read. Yes, the comedy is plentiful and I laughed frequently, but it's those heart-melting moments that sealed the deal for me. This is also pretty steamy later on, with lots of sexual tension and so much chemistry. I'm ready to dive back into the series now, and look forward to what looks to be happening next. I received an early copy (then purchased it for my collection), and am voluntarily leaving a review of this very quirky comedy.

“I need a fake date to a thing on Monday morning. Can you glue on a super thick villain mustache, use a fake earring, wear color-changing contacts, and answer to Renaldo for a day?”

I always have a hard time rating this author.

Characters are good. Supporting cast feel like a big family of screwy that you can’t help but love. The animal… in this case a crazy cat, always adds a fun element to the story. Plot is just finding love in the crazy. The FMCs body image takes up a little too much time and though, but I get it.

I laughed.

There’s some swoon.

There’s some cringe.

There’s always a HEA and feel goods with the gigantic overlapping character world the author has created.

Now, the problem is the same as I always have - there’s not a big climax. The story just stalls midways in a basket of fluff and inner dialogue on repeat… before the HEA. Almost every book I’ve read by this author does that - draws you in with laughs and interesting characters, makes you watch them twirl in circles from about 40%-90%, and then sticks the landing on a HEA. <<< This is why 3 stars. Work on the MIDDLE, Pip!!!!

Anyway…

I’m not a fan of OW shit, and the start of this book may bother safety readers. It didn’t bother me because it was done with humor and no touching. His pecker is broken and won’t rise to the fall of OW thanks to the FMC.

3 sweet, funny, stars that could’ve been more if the middle wasn’t dead.

How I love this series!

I just have to hear the series title Copper Valley Thrusters and I’m immediately smiling. The one-liners, the innuendoes, the sheer hilarity, once again had me laughing. Out loud. A lot! Muffy was sarcasm personified while Tyler was completely trapped in her sexy web, not good with anyone but her. Throw in a funeral as the latest ‘go to’ social event and you can see why this read had me rolling on the floor with laughter. Unconventional is too tame a word to talk about their love journey and it couldn’t have been more perfect…

Muffy was such a real person with her self-doubt touching everything, including her belief she could succeed. Tyler, for all his (adorable) grumpiness saw her for what she was – amazing. And, in his way, proved to her again and again that her critics were very wrong…. Oh and did I mention hockey???

I loved this story, the characters, everything about it. If you haven’t read this series, start at the beginning to enjoy every fantastic-filled page… ~Diane, 5 stars

Cute 💕

I picking love you was a cute and easy sports contemporary. I didn’t read any of the others and wish I had so I would know the friends story more. But I really enjoyed it and found myself laughing out loud often.

I’m going to launch into a semi-internal monologue before I give you all the reasons why I Pucking Love You is getting a 5 star review from me, but first, the blurb for the book was posted by Pippa earlier this morning on Facebook:

“You know those stories where an adorably misunderstood clumsy girl needs a fake date to a wedding so she asks her brother’s best friend and they accidentally fall in love?

Not a very good one, but that’s beside the point.I know a mismatch when I see one.

Still, Tyler’s what I’ve got, and I am not going to this funeral solo, so he’s what I’ll take.

I Pucking Love You is a hilariously wrong romantic comedy about the world’s worst matchmaker, a hockey player with a problem he doesn’t want to talk about, and an awkward date-of-convenience that everyone would prefer to forget. -Pippa Grant, from her Facebook Group: The Pipsquad

Now let’s discuss why I’m experiencing soul-devouring guilt after reading this book….

I feel like a cheater after reading I Pucking Love You because, as Pippa and anyone who takes the least bit of interest in my reading habits knows, Beck Ryder from America’s Geekheart is my OTBB (One True Book Boyfriend).

Beck was my first Pippa Grant experience, and his story made me fall so quick and so easily not just for him, but for the Romantic Comedy genre. I loved America’s Geekheart and Beck so much, I went and bought the blanket with the book cover on it, and yes, Beck and I are exclusive, thank you for asking — we sleep together every night!

After Beck swept in and snatched up the OTBB title in my life, I quickly devoured every Pippa book I could get my hands on, and while there are some definite favorite contenders for my affection (I’m looking at you Ares Berger, Luca Rossi and Cooper Rock), no character in the Pippaverse has ever surpassed Beck for me.
And then I got the ARC for Tyler and Muffy last night, and …

I FELL.

I fell so hard, I’m literally having guilty feelings about asking Beck to move over a bit and give Tyler some room in my heart. So much guilt that I had to go and confess to Pippa, who quickly reassured me that Beck was cool with me loving Tyler (which, of course, proves my point about Beck being my OTBB).

We’ve met Muffy Periwinkle before, albeit briefly in Nick and Kami’s book Charming As Puck, and Tyler Jaeger made a few appearances throughout the series but was featured much more in book 4 of the Bluewater Billionaires series, Crazy For Loving You.
So it’s not like we were complete strangers when I started reading, but as with all of Pippa’s characters, there is always a new insecurity or vulnerability that many of us can relate to. This particular book had me both laughing and crying, because I AM MUFFY and I’m definitely looking for my real life Tyler.

Muffy is a character that has such a good heart, but has heard such negative things about herself her whole life that she’s been left feeling sure that she is unlovable, will always be unsuccessful in the matchmaking business, and is undeserving of anything good happening to her, especially when the good things involve a certain unattached gorgeous hockey player whose star is just starting to rise.

Every inner thought that Muffy has about how she looks, where she’s at in her professional and personal life, I’ve had all those same thoughts. Especially when it comes to pouring all her energy into trying to lift those she cares about up while absolutely ignoring her own wants and needs – when we believe we cannot possibly obtain the things we want most, we try to make those things happen for others that we care about. At times, it was hard to read without getting super emotional about my own experiences, because I can relate on such a deep level to Muffy’s longing to believe that Tyler could possibly return her feelings, once she finally admitted them to herself.

And whoa, baby! I did NOT expect Tyler to skate in and sweep me right off my feet. Pippa does this amazing thing with her male characters, giving them just the right amount of alpha grumpiness and then bringing all those hidden (from his true love, at least) emotions to light, emotions and thoughts that can rip you to shreds before you realize it’s happening.

Poor Tyler and his … problems. I cannot and will not ruin that for you, but trust me when I tell you — you can’t even begin to guess the trouble Tyler has and the cause of said troubles.

Lord only knows where these wacky ideas come from, but the back story of Pippa’s characters are always so unique that you never experience the same thing twice. No other author I have ever read has kept me so on my toes and completely unable to try to predict where the story will take me next. The main characters often find themselves smack in the middle of quirky and hilarious situations that I know, if something like that ever happened to me, I would probably die of embarrassment.

You might think you know what Pippa is going to do or how she’s going to craft these Happily Ever Afters, but you would be wrong. Pippa will surprise you EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.

I am so excited for everyone else to experience this love story, (and all the craziness that ensues, especially with Muffy’s cat!), which although is a work of fiction as far as we know, gave me hope for my own journey to find my Tyler. If Muff Matchers was a real thing, I’d sign up!

I am so glad that Thrusty managed to grab Pippa's attention and shove Tyler Jaeger in her face to write his story. I've been waiting on this one since I read his brother West and Daisy's story in Crazy for Loving You. The Jaeger family is unique. Their group texts are next level hilarious. And since Tyler is the baby, well, you can imagine what his life is like with four older sisters. There are no secrets. So, with this stage already set, how can I Pucking Love You be anything less than 💫cosmic 🌈rainbow 🦄unicorn good? Throw in wedgies from Ares Berger, threats from Nick Murphy (and appearances from the cow-dogs), and a hilarious new character Rooster Applebottom (yes, you heard right). Also, there may have been a Zeus Berger sighting. This book put me in next level, "I don't want to finish this book anxiety." This sort of nervous twitch ailment manifests itself with setting the book down, grabbing your phone, trolling Facebook for a minute, realizing you HAVE to know what's going on, so you pick the book back up, until not wanting to finish fear strikes again, so you put the book down, troll Facebook again, this happens multiple times in an hour.

Oh my goodness, I haven't even touched on Muffy. She's adorable in an average way. And that is what makes her the best! She's not super smart; she's not over-the-top gorgeous; she's just a girl. A girl who made some interesting life choices, but that's what makes this story so good. When you get past the laugh out loud comedy (and it starts nearly on the first page), you get to see Tyler being so tender and protective with Muffy and saying things like, "It's like hope and joy got together and had a face baby," about her smile, and "But I will date her. I gonna date the sh!t out of her." He was so what Muffy needed in her life, and the hilarity of their journey to their HEA with Daisy and West, the Thrusters, the Jaegers, and a very accident-prone cat put me in a 💫cosmic 🌈rainbow 🦄unicorn coma of happiness. I really don't know how Pippa does it, but she manages to write hilarious, feel-good, tender-hearted tales that keep me sighing and smiling for days afterward. Here's to another cosmic rainbow unicorn success! Read I Pucking Love You NOW!

Until now, I had only listened to books by this author, and I was afraid I wouldn’t laugh as much with the written words. I was mistaken. I snorted-laughed on a regular basis while reading this book.

Back to a hockey romance this time–as it’s my favorite genre–with new or returning quirky characters like only this author knows how to write. The main female characters are always strong and independent, and Muffy is no different. What was quite new–at least for me–was the level of solidarity between women that was depicted. A real girl power book, with women supporting each others, with positive role models, with a powerful message about body positivity that is ALSO supported by other female characters, not only by the male love interest. Sure, there are still a couple of despicable women, but it’s acknowledged that it comes from their own insecurities and they’re somewhat forgiven–but still punished, don’t worry.

You’ll still find the usual totally unpredictable, weird, hilarious situations that make those books comedy gold. You’ll also find the steamy stuff that we come to expect. But you get a feminist manifesto at the same time. What’s not to like?

Quickie

- Series: The Copper Valley Thrusters #5 (can be read as a standalone)
- Hashtags: #romcom #hockey romance #friends to lovers #fake relationship
- Triggers: fat shaming
- Main couple: Muffy Periwinkle & Tyler Jaeger
- Hotness: 5/5
- Romance: 5/5
- + finally some solidarity between female characters!
- – I felt like the mention of Tyler’s ex was unnecessary

Well that was disappointing, the book started with a TRIGGER of mine that I absolutely LOATH HATE one i dont is sexy ever or funny, just YUK! I was looking forward to this rather a lot, I've read Pippa before but I DNFed this in the first chapter, i could barely even finish this. I'm sure a lot of you will love it, thinks it's fun or funny but to me it's a huge turn off. Obviously I'm not going to spoil it but just NO for me.

Pippa made some choices when she wrote this one and, I'm not saying I hated them all, but I didn't love them all either. Still killed it when it came to steam because it was *chef's kiss* but man I wish certain things had been thought out more.

One of the things I love the most about Pippa Grant is she's hella funny. She has a way of writing characters that is supremely relatable because you can see yourself winding up in some of their situations and the result is absolutely hilarious. However, Muffy was just ... too much? I don't quite know how to explain it but some of the "situations" in which Muffy found herself were just way too over the top and I found myself cringing and not in the good way.

Aside from those moments, Tyler and Muffy were great together. They were an excellent team, the tension was fantastic, and the witty banter was pure Pippa goodness. I really did enjoy most of this book (I'm a sucker for hockey romances) and so I had a really great time with these characters, I just wish our heroine hadn't been written mostly for laughs.

Many thanks to Give Me Books PR for the review copy!

I knew that Muffy’s story was going to be over the top 😊
Muffy is a matchmaker, not a very good one but she is. She is a little awkward with some self esteem issues but I loved her character. So when she got an invitation to a funeral she wanted to seem like a normal person, so she accept the help of her ‘one night’ stand… Tyler Jaeger… professional hockey ‘playboy’ player…

These two were so cute and funny together. I loved that Tyler was protective of Muffy and all her quirkiness and he did everything to make her see how everyone else saw her. A big hearted loveable woman looking out for everyone else besides herself. I loved seeing how these two got together.

Even though Tyler comes across as a player and arrogant at times, he was just too sweet and cute for me. And both of them deserved each other and totally complimented the other. I think that after Felicity and Ares’s story, Muffy and Tyler are my favorite 😊 Like I said Pippa Grant knows how to write hilariously amazing romcom’s and this series just gets better and better with each book😊 ♥

I felt like this one was crazy over the top, yet I had fun reading it. I often found myself laughing. I really liked that Tyler got Muffy (I can't tell you how much I hated this name, felt like I was grinding my teeth each time my eyes saw it), how he liked her clumsiness, her odd ways, her business and didn't fault her for what happened at the end of her medical school career. He seemed to find ways to support her and was gobsmacked when he realized he really liked her and later loved her. Muffy also really fit in well with Tyler's family and seeing all of them you get why Muffy didn't phase him one bit, her pretty much had been training for a woman like her his whole life.

Such a fun and sexy read

This was another winner from PG. Loved the characters and their crazy chemistry. It was funny, sexy and so entertaining.

The narration by the amazing Emma Wilder who does an awesome male voice and the deep baritone of Aiden Snow was so sexy. I could listen to these too narrate the phone book.

All in all it was a wonder weekend listen.

In true Pippa Grant fashion, I Pucking Love You is ridiculously adorable! You'll fall head over heels for this unlikely pair!

If "walking disaster" was in the dictionary, it'd have Muffy's face next to it. She's clumsy and awkward sure, but she's also smart, loyal and adorable. Unfortunately all she sees are her flaws. But when a friend calls in need, Muffy shows up, it's just her nature, even if it means she has to return to the scene of her greatest embarrassment.

Tyler Jaegar might be a hockey hot shot but he's having a little problem... with his stick... his joystick! Hint hint wink wink. Ever since he hooked up with Muffy, he's feeling a little um deflated. When she needs a buffer date to an event for her friend, Tyler decides it's the perfect opportunity to fix his little problem... but he might have a bigger problem holding on to his heart.

I don't have enough adjectives for this book. It was just everything. Tyler was PERFECT for the chronically clumsy but undeniably adorable Muffy. I loved how he defended her and helped her to see her worth! They didn't just accept each other's quirks, they fell in love with them and you will too!

Great story from the Queen of RomComs!

Another great story full of laughs, swoons and steam with tons of heart!! I love the protector role Tyler takes on, but not to protect her from external threats, but from her own fears and insecurity. Beautiful story! Loved the bonus epilogue too!!

The beloved Thrusters series is back with Tyler Jaeger and Muffy Periwinkle’s story! Muffy is Kami’s cousin (Charming as Puck) and we first met her in Charming as Puck. Muffy is very much a Pippa heroine; she’s faced adversity, made some biggish mistakes and is resilient. She’s been through a lot and has some secrets. Tyler is having some issues and he’s kind of in a funk at the beginning of the book. But, fate will put these two together after an awkward situation from their recent past. Tyler and Muffy were becoming friends for almost a year but because of the awkward situation they have distanced themselves from each other. Tyler volunteers to help Muffy out and they begin a relationship, but it’s not clear where they are going. I really enjoyed this story and absolutely loved them as a couple! Highly recommend this book!

Once again, Pippa Grant did not disappoint! Tyler and Muffy are amazing and I am totally in love with them. This story has all the laughs and swoon worthy moments. Such a great story and as always, I love all the cameos from previous characters we have already fallen in love with.

I can't even explain how much I loved Muffy and Tyler together. This book has everything you love about a Pippa Grant book but still manages to find that something special to set it on its own.

This is one of the best twists I've ever read on a fake date trope. I dare you not to laugh while reading.

I don’t know how she does it. Seriously, I have no idea. Pippa has yet again delivered in every way possible on the romcom front. I Pucking Love You is complete with new hilarious antics involving both human and animal, a funeral, a “broken penis” (yes you read that last part correctly) and very hot one on one time if you catch my drift. But, what made this book one of my all time faves by this author, is the fact that our leading lady is bigger than a size 4 and gets a man who finds her attractive and sexy strictly because of who she is and not how she looks. Another awesome job well done, Pippa!

ABSOLUTELY LOVED the newest from one of my favorite go to authors! Muffy is one of my favorite characters in all of like, ever! There is NO ONE who does 'adork-able character you can't help but love' better than Ms. Grant, add in some stellar side characters, crazy animal hijinx and a hotness level of ten and its taken top spot as my favorite book by this author. Tyler is just so perfect for Muffy! I love how emotionally vulnerable he is. They are both just so relatable, I just want to live in this world with them. I really loved everyone in this book and I hope we get peeks of them in future Pippa-verse stories!

No strong representation of diverse characters or minority identities.

Overall: 2.75-stars

I didn’t believe the Hero wanted to be with the Heroine for the first 50% of the book. Basically, after the funeral the book is great but before, I found it so frustrating because of the Hero. He came across as incredibly shallow and self-centred.

I Pucking Love this book!
Muffy has always felt like a bit of an odd bird and has given up on the idea of a relationship for herself but her life’s work is “Muff Matchers”, a matchmaking service where she weeds out the jerks and looks for matches for other less than ordinary women.

“But I will date her.
I’m gonna date the shit out of her.
Muffy Periwinkle’s gonna know she’s worth something.
Whether she likes it or not.”

Tyler Jaeger realizes that he has fallen hard and fast for Muffy and works to get her on the same page. But she is dealing with a lifetime of being told that she is ‘less than’.

“Did I just accidentally make her my girlfriend? I know she’ll figure out fast that I have two spare bedrooms, and I could’ve put her in either. I gave her the keys to my car. I sent her an authorization to unlock my door with her phone. I didn’t just make her my accidental girlfriend. I made her my accidental live-in girlfriend.”

I Pucking Love You is sweet and emotional and … Oh Yes…SO FUNNY! My new favorite in this series of standalones, I loved listening to most of the story on audiobook with wonderful narration.

Naaw! These guys are awesome. Muffy is funny and kind, all that energy with a side of clumsy. I’ve been waiting patiently for Muffy and Tyler’s story, and it was so good. Their little nerdy hearts were adorable, and funny, and steamy. I was expecting there to be more to them than what we’ve seen in previous books, but I never guessed there was this much. They both have pasts that have a hold on them, but aren’t defining them. They almost fumble through getting together, and it was seriously fun to read.
Muffy is doing her best to help others, despite her self esteem issues, and Tyler sees how amazing she is, and loves all her weird.
This book was fun, and sweet, and so sincere. I loved it.

I want to live in the world PIppa Grant has created!

Another wonderful read from PIppa Grant. She gave us a heroine all women can see them selves in and a new Book Boyfriend who might rival all others. Great guest appearances by our favorite Pippa characters. Another masterpiece of the heat!
