Sherlock Holmes, the King of the Fae and a halfling walk into a bar…

Note: This collection includes an EXCLUSIVE Bonus murder mystery story only found HERE, along with other stories previously published in the Paris Beaufont series.

A murder ensues.

It’s up to this unlikely ragtag crew to solve the mystery of “who done it” and over and over again. There’s always a new case to follow.

Everyone would expect the great detective to be excellent at following the clues.

No one would expect that it’s the stupidity of a fae who brings the true epiphanies to light in each case.

And the halfling, well, it’s Paris Beaufont’s job to solve these cases, protect justice and put criminals away—with the help of her friends, of course.

This collection is jam packed with murder mysteries aboard trains, inside Scottish manors, in cozy fishing villages and many other fun settings.

Pick up this volume and see if you can figure out who done it before the experts do.

Will Sherlock Holmes solve the cases before the murderers gets away? Will Paris catch them before they do it again? Will King Rudolf Sweetwater save the day, or ruin it?

Great shorts

Although this has mysteries from the usual investigations from our Agent the bonus story is worth it by itself and more than made this a stroll down memory lane and a hark back to when I also used to watch many a murrrder happen lol

Despite me reading this book for days now, I haven't actually done so. It only took me about six hours to read the whole thing, as I speed-read the first three murder mysteries, as I've literally only just finished the various series that they came from.

But I was delighted to find that fourth one, as it's a totally new one to me.

As someone who used to do a bit of AmDram myself, I thoroughly enjoyed this trip into my past.

Reading about the characters in the Theatre, and in the Play itself, was such fun, especially as most of them could have stepped easily into my own theatre life! Lol

Once again, Sarah used Paris, Faraday, Sherlock Holmes, and King Rupert, Sweetwater of the Fae, as her main characters, and I was immediately caught up in their lives once more.

They played their own parts very well, and kept me hooked to the story all the way through - and I have to admit that I didn't guess the reason for the murders in that final play, so that was a surprise for me!

As much as I really enjoyed this extra murder mystery, I think that, the next time I get around to re-reading the whole book, I think I'll do so quite a while after reading all the Beaufont series , as the various stories were far too fresh in my mind, for me to enjoy them as the mysteries they are, this time!

So, now that I've finished reading all the Beaufont series that are already in print (I'm still waiting for the new series with Rose Beaufont, sadly), I think I'll go back in time - a little like my favourite (and Sarah's favourite, too,) Doctor with his TARDIS - and I'm going to start on all the books that Sarah wrote before she joined with Michael Anderle.

Looking at the list, it seems that the Dream Travellers series are this, so I'm going to start with book one of The Lucidites series: Awoken, to see if Sarah's writing has changed much in the intervening years since it was published.

So, as usual, I'll see you on the flip side, to let you know what I thought of it.

The four murder mysteries that are found in the Inscrutable Paris Beaufont series.

1) Murder on a Train. The murder mystery on a train that Paris needed to solve in ‘The Creative Matchmaker’.
2) Murder at a Mansion. The ‘fake’ murder of Ramy set up to lure Sherlock out of hiding in ‘The Unexpectant Peacemaker’.
3) Murder in a Small Town. The murder in Haunted Harbor, Maine needed to get the first potion ingredient for the antidote.
4) Murder at the Theater. London, Eng. This is a new story written as a three-act play. Paris, Rudolf, Sherlock and Faraday attend the theatre and solve a murder.

These stories!

Rudolph and Sherlock Holmes playing good cop bad cop, a talking squirrel, and Paris Beaufont, go on trains, boats, a little trip to Scotland to kill an immortal, and even run away for a little theater fun in these short stories. I'm kind of obsessed with Sarah Noffke and Michael anderle, keep giving us Beaufont content till you can't anymore please and thanks.

Not really my "cup of tea"

The short stories in this book were a bit to nonsensical for me. Yes, each had a plot to follow and the characters are familiar to the reader, but the story was just too " out there" for my enjoyment.

I had a hard time getting through this book and found myself skimming over the pages. It was boring. The characters were rather one-dimensional and totally stupid at times. It was just not for me.
