Emma Marie Cormier writes steamy romantic stories about resilient, kick-ass females and the alpha men who can’t help but fall in love with them.
A huge nerd at heart, you’ll find her bingeing MMA YouTube videos, watching the latest UFC PPV, or kidnapping attractive villagers in Animal Crossing (RIP, Phil…).
She fights an endless horde of chirpy crickets alongside a grumpy husband, three gorgeous pirate cats, and a temperamental 3D printer in a small pink house in Auckland, New Zealand.
Book 2 in The City Limits MMA Series. I liked Piper's personality in book one so was looking forward to reading her book. Piper has a school girl crush on Caleb, the gyms up and coming fighter and circumstances lead to them living together during his fight camp. Caleb soon realises that fighting isn't his only passion, and after a rocky start they find their happily ever after. Actual Rating 3.5

This was only an ok read for me. The fight scenes were interesting – almost like being ringside. The romance was perhaps too YA for me. I thought both Caleb and Piper too young emotionally, especially Caleb with his cocky, King of the Hill attitude. I thought him particularly mean to Piper, yet she forgives him without much groveling. I would have liked a more in depth look at both characters’, especially Piper’s interest in MMA. A quick read.

I loved reading this book, the feisty but quirky female lead and the broody but complex male lead were all perfect. I loved the plot and the journey for both Piper and Caleb, I also really liked how they came together almost naturally and how their relationship showed. I do however wish we got to see Caleb properly apologising to Piper for when he was quite harsh and rude, and not being that way as much. But overall, their chemistry and romance were beautifully put together and shown throughout the book. I also especially loved Caleb’s character arc and how became wiser and more aware of everything throughout. The way that Piper also helped him become the best of himself was very cute and I think needed. So in conclusion, I would absolutely recommend this book for people who like MMA romances.
Caleb Rushmore, MMA fighter, is feeling the pressure of a real challenge this time. Even his coach, Scotty, was expressing some doubts about a sure win. In fact, Scotty was refusing to lift a finger to train Caleb further until Ames promised to coach Caleb in the art of grappling. And it didn’t look like Ames had any intention of doing that. His opponent has a record that might really make a difference and, if he is not totally focused on this fight, if he allows any distractions whatsoever, he could lose the match and the belt he is going for. And Piper is a major distraction!
Although I struggled with some of the terminology, I thought this overall story was good. The interaction between the main characters was enough to keep my attention. Grab your copy and enjoy!
This was a good read! The second novel in the City Limits MMA series, I enjoyed getting to know Piper and Caleb and seeing their romance unfold. Like the first book, Fighting for Control is only around a hundred pages, but the action and fight scenes were still interesting and well-written and the sex was steamy. However, with its' shortness, some parts seemed rushed and a little bit cobbled together. I liked Piper and Caleb and I wish there was some more insight to their background - the bits of their histories were nice, but it felt like a gloss over. Giving some more details would've added to the depth of their characters. Still though, it was a good, quick read!
If you are a fan of MMA fighting then I highly recommend reading Fighting For Control - Piper & Caleb's story. He's broody & she's feisty so you know their story will be all smooth sailing. Amongst all that is going on is their growing love worth fighting for? This is the second book I have read by this new to me author & they have delivered with this story.

Caleb is broody and Piper has a fiery personality. They find themselves living together during fight camp. Will they fight just as hard for each other as they do in the octagon? This is a quick and entertaining read.

I really wanted to like this book, but the MMC was an asshole and not in a good way. He absolutely tore down the FMC and treated her like trash. Instead of finding someone better to crush on, the FMC was like "no it's fine". He would make her cry, and SHE WOULD STILL COME BACK BECAUSE HE WAS HOT??? Girllll have some self respect
I liked the writing and the storyline in general, but it felt as if written for someone younger. I liked the scene setup and the visuals that you have provided. All in all I enjoyed it.

Enjoyable read, even if you’re not into Mixed Martial Arts. A romance between Caleb and Piper. Will they succeed in their next fight? Will there be a happy ever after? The story is easy to read and well put together. Looking forward to the next in the series.
I enjoyed this story from start to finish. I loved Caleb and reading his point of view in the first person was incredible. He and Piper had amazing chemistry and I loved their banter.

This hero is a jerk from the first to the last page. In public, he treats the heroine like trash. Then in private, he's nicer to her. And the cycle repeats. Like how is this desirable?
If you like boxing/wresting..here it is. If you like romance, here you go. If you like a woman trying to build herself into who she wanted instead of her rich parents wants, here you go. You want feisty attitude, here you go. If you want a man who finds his wins and losses not just inside the ring...here you go. Enjoy
This was my first read from this author. I absolutely loved the first person point of view of the story. Story pulled me in and kept my interest. I will read more from this author in the future.
