Kate Reid #15

Every Last One

Rate this book
When a small town in rural Virginia gathers for its annual Independence Day parade, the celebrations are abruptly halted at the discovery of the first homicide the town has seen in a decade.

The local police lieutenant believes he has a handle on the investigation until a second body turns up in the river. And when Special Agent Kate Reid, the FBI’s star profiler, is called to assist, the lieutenant reluctantly accepts the offer.
However, it isn’t long before the two butt heads on how best to proceed. Given the unique signature of the murders that resembles a form of torture, Kate knows the lieutenant is in over his head.

In a matter of days, another body is found on the highway. Same signature. Kate realizes time is running out because a photo is discovered in a victim’s bedroom that reveals the three who have been murdered are in the picture together. Three more in the photo are still alive.

The case has brought interest from the rest of the team at BAU Quantico, and the head of the unit authorizes more assistance. Kate welcomes help from Agents Jonathan Surrey and Levi Walsh. But what they hadn’t counted on was the discovery that the murders appeared to mimic those that occurred in the town nearly 200 years earlier.

Kate and the team wage a desperate search to learn who knew about those murders because with only three in the photograph left alive, whoever it is seems determined to kill every last one.

I voluntarily reviewed a copy of "EVERY LAST ONE"
WOW!!! This story hooks you from start its full of mystery, suspense, intrigue, secrets, lies, angst, danger, violence, brutal murders, serial killer, twists that have you turning the pages such an addicting read to the end.
FBI Supervisory Special Agent Kate Reid is requested by a friend of Cameron Fisher to go to the small town of Jansville in Virginia to help Lt. Howard Irving with a brutal unique murder case who isn't to happy to have her there but agrees to let her consult the case is still his she has no jurisdiction to take over.
Kate & her partner Jonathan Surrey work together along with help from Levi Walsh because they have better resources that Lt. Irving doesn't have so many suspects but it doesn't end with the one murder, Kate feels frustrated that things with case aren't coming easily to get she feels like she's loosing her gift.
I definitely recommend to get this one the edge of your seat mind-blowing shocking story that will rock you especially when Kate, Surrey, Lt. Irving find out who the real killer is. it's so well written you can't not read this book the author did a phenominal job with these characters you so won't be disappointed.
I look forward to what this author will bring to us next now that the Kate Reid Thriller Series has come to an end I loved every story sad to see its ending. AWESOME AWESOME READ!!!!!!

An Outstanding Gripping Read.
Another brilliant gripping story from Robin in the Kate Reid series and these just get better and better.
This story starts with a gruesome murder in a sleepy rural town of in Virginia.
FBI special agent Kate Reid is asked to assist in the case but it soon turns out more than just a murder so her team get called to assist her and the local lieutenant Howard Irving when a young woman is found murdered with her head bashed in but more worryingly her tongue having been cut out! More murders all with the same killing style and as possible suspects and clues come to light nothing seems to fit the “modus operandi” (MO) of the killer. Kate is really stretched to piece together a profile until they get a break after an arson attack. However you do not find out to the very end and you are kept guessing.
As you go through the book you start “guessing who the killer is but you won’t find out who or the why’s and will probably wrong anyway like me!” This is such a great read, being well written, with good characters and of course Kate and her usual team. This is such a great story. And one book certainly not to miss.

I’ve read the entire series and really like the author. This last one, although good and at times even gripping, missed the mark. The story line went on like a Ron Howard movie that just won’t end. The law enforcers seemed a little inept to allow such violent crimes to continue right under their nose in such a small community. Kate who is usually on top was not as much as in the past. I also don’t like her sidekick Surrrey. He adds little to the investigative process. It seems with the ending Of this book, Kate may be headed in another direction and I think that is probably a good idea. Thanks Robin for the stories you provide for our reading enjoyment,

She is home from college looking forward to the parade, getting her paycheck, and visiting with friends that evening..When a nightmare began.
Agent Kate is with friends on her husband boat to watch the fireworks later. Called into assist when another murder happens.
A puzzling case similar to one years ago, why and such drastic torture to the victims. A photo is found, could they protect the remaining ones.
A tense plot, emotions for the people knew the victims, readers will enjoy.
Kate as a profiler has her work cut out and to solve.
Given ARC for my voluntary review and my honest opinion

Kate Reid is asked to consulate with a sheriff in a small town about a murder. The sheriff isn't very happy to have her 'help'. As she learns the details, she is sure it won't be the last killing. She was right, but did she go about the profiling in the wrong way? This case has her questioning her abilities and what she does. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

When a murder happens in a small town the case attracts the intrest of Kate at the BAU.
Despite not being in charge of the case Kate struggles with the sheriff not following her guidance.
More murders follow and the case gets more twisted as suspects are taken off tht list and the killer still isn't found
Keeps you guessing to the end.

I read this is KU.

An intriguing series

This was a very intense and suspenseful case that was full of complexities that made a complicated case even more difficult for everyone involved. It was heartbreaking for so many reasons, but it seemed to affect Reid more than anyone.
I would recommend this book, series, and author.

Once again this Kate Reid story is mind blowing. Never disappoints and always keeps me on the edge of my seat. As much as I didn’t think possible, Kate grows in confidence and stature with each book.
Robin makes you feel part of the story and it certainly feels like a real life event.
Such is the skill of the author.
200% recommended.
