While it’s pretty informative, it’s also got a noticeable bias. Brecker definitely favors the Cuban revolution, often painting it as the ultimate “true” revolution, and he kind of overlooks the darker sides, like the persecution of minorities. It’s clear that his political leanings influence how he presents the material, and it definitely detracts from a balanced perspective. That said, his humor in describing dictators in other revolutions is pretty funny and keeps things engaging. Overall, I wish the book had been more comprehensive and less one sided.
