What is life worth without the love you’re meant for?
Sent to the brink of death by his own brother’s blade, Eoghanan McMillan clings to the brief moments he spends in the shadows, watching from afar the beautiful lass he’s never met. He spends his time some four centuries after his birth, slowly building his strength so that he may return home, but each glimpse into the woman’s life leaves him wanting. He wants nothing more than to know her.
When Grace Mitchell’s job as a photojournalist sends her to Scotland with her young son, Cooper, in tow, her greatest wish is to escape from the aftermath of the wedding she abandoned. Instead, her life complicates further when she meets the mysterious, scarred, and alluring Eoghanan McMillan – a man so unlike any she’s ever known. She falls for him quickly but, after a spell sends them back in time to the seventeenth century, Grace is forced to accept the amazing truth about the man she’s just beginning to know and to re-think the life she had planned for herself.
Will their love for one another be enough to make Grace stay in a time so different from her own – a decision that will alter the direction of her young son’s life entirely? Or will she sacrifice a future with the man she loves to give her son a life of normalcy? In the end, she may just learn that the decision isn’t hers to make.
Bethany Claire is the USA Today Bestselling Author of the Scottish time travel romance novels in Morna’s Legacy Series.
Bethany’s love of storytelling has been a lifelong passion but, convinced it would serve her best to follow a “conventional” career path, she tucked that passion away and went off to college.
Fast forward four years and about six major changes later, she realized the stories simply were not going to stay tucked away. Months away from graduating with a degree in elementary education, she finally realized writing was the only career that would make her happy.
So one day in the middle of a summer education course, she got up in the middle of class and walked to the registrar’s office and withdrew from the university on the spot. Since then, she has devoted herself to writing full time and is following her dreams.
I think this instalment might be my favourite so far! I love that the time travel was reversed in a way, it made for a bit of a change of pace and shook things up a bit. I also really loved the way it came about and how they choose to stay afterwards. I also really enjoyed the little glimpses of characters from the other books that we got, it was nice to see how their story had progressed since we last saw them!
Eoghanan McMillian has barley escaped death by his own crazy brother's Niall's blade and knows how precious each and every day is. He is forced to heal in a time some four centuries after his birth, his days away from home are so very long and lonely until an unexpected visitor arrives at the Inn and changes his life. Grace Mitchell and her young son Cooper, go to Scotland for her job as a photojournalist after abandoning her own wedding. Instead of the work filled trip she expected Grace's life becomes really complicated once she meets Eoghanan McMillan. He is unlike any man that she has ever known. Then when a spell sends them back to the seventeenth century, their feelings really begin to grow. Will Grace's love for Eoghanan be strong enough to make her stay in the seventeenth century changing her young son's life as well? Or will she say no and go back to sacrificing her love for the happiness of her son? Then again who knows maybe the choice has already been made for her or has it? Wow Bethany Claire has done it again spinning a beautiful tale of love and loyalty in this sweet and clean version and it is absolutely amazing . Bethany is one of a few authors that make it so hard for me to put her book down. This book is an incredible masterpiece written by a master of time travel. Have you ever felt like you were there with Cooper, Grace, and the other characters? Well that's exactly how I felt. I enjoyed this book immensely and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anybody who is a lover of time travel books.
I really like the characters and side characters in this series. I didn’t like this thing this author did that a lot of authors do, it drives me insane and I would have stopped reading this book at the very beginning if I didn’t like these characters and the world building so much. The thing was the female lead has a 4 year old son, of course he is “special”, he’s a “genius”, he’s “not like other kids”, so the author has him acting and talking like he’s at least 16 years old! Um, no!!! He’s 4! I don’t care how smart he is, he is NOT going to act or talk that way!!! Come on! I absolutely HATE when authors do this. He doesn’t have any life experience to draw upon to be talking to people and handing out advice that he does. He also would not be aware of other people’s relationships and offering “wise” advice to them! He wouldn’t know what to do in a situation like with the witch. It’s totally unrealistic and had I not really liked the other characters in this series, I would have stopped reading and given this a very low star rating. Have you ever spent time with a 4 year old? Please, authors, do before you write these “kid geniuses”. It’s not just about them being smart, it’s about how a kid would talk and act, and how kids see the world around them. They don’t much. Kids are more focused on their own lives, what’s happening to them. They’re not interested in what their mom’s romantic relationship is at 4 years old!!!
Grace is not married but has a son and a best friend Jeffery who, for all who know the situation, is his father but they are not married. Moran of course calls Grace and son Conner to Scotland on a rouse using a job she set up. To meet EOY short for his to hard to pronounce name. E O for short has been at her house from the 17th century because his crazy mental brother tried to kill him. She ,Morna is a good which from the same area but living in the 20 century. She runs a bed and breakfast where she tends to her matchmaking business and sends people back and forth in time. EO is a gallant man brother to the lair of the castle. He has been brought up with learning and Grace. He is a big Scotts man but not as big as his brother Baodan. He has red curls and beautiful eyes, that even though He has a long scar down his entire body. Grace doesn't seem to even see it. Will she go to the 17th century with EO or will she go home to her nasty father who pushes a wedding with JEFFREY ,Whom she loves but is not in love with.
After a life-threatening injury, Eoghanan has been transported to the future to be healed by Morna's magic. Even with the magic, his recovery is slow. At the beginning of this story he hasn't yet recovered sufficiently to undergo a return to his own century. Through Morna's manipulations, Grace and her young son Connor travel to Scotland where Grace is doing a photo shoot for the magazine where she's employed. She ends up staying at the inn where Morna and her husband live, which is also where E-o has been recuperating. There are some challenges, misunderstandings and crises along the way, but Grace and E-o achieve their HEA. I liked all of the characters, especially E-o and the precocious Connor. It's refreshing to have a male hero who's brave, courageous, and handsome while also being compassionate and sensitive. I loved this book.
Bethany's sweet version of Morna's series are just as good as the original series. This book deals with Eoghanan, Grace and Cooper. Eoghanan barely escapes death. Morna is caring for him and we know what that means. Grace and Cooper find their way to Scotland. Cooper sweet Cooper has to help out in his own way and now all the fun begins back in time.
I feel anyone who likes time travel books should give this series a try. I bet you will fall in love with all the characters. Each book can stand on its own. I haven't found one person who hasn't liked or loved this books. Way to go Bethany
I checked this book out at my local library. It is a Scottish timetravel book and it's as well written as the rest of the series. The characters and storyline both are what make you love this! Morna is one of my favorite characters in the series but in this book it is definitely Cooper. He is something else, such an adorable child. I don't want to have any spoilers so I will stop there. But definitely recommend this series and this author.
I naturally gave this book four stars..Again very well rounded storyline, good sensually, but very little violence..The only thing I did not care for was the ending, she left it hanging..Big disappointment..But it has not stop me from buying the next book in the series
I would put this book, and series, ahead of most in the genre. Cooper's dialog was much more representative of a precocious "almost kindergartner", than almost any novel I've read, but then I've been around kids for fifty years. But any author would like to improve. Try getting a really old English teacher to edit these books, before publication.
This is part of the Morna's Legacy Time Travel series that I love. There are around 12 books and I love all of them that include people traveling back and forth in time in Scotland. Each book is based on a certain couple helped with love by Morna but they all intact with each other. Some are based more on people moving back in time and some move forward but they all interact together.
Love Beyond Measure: A Scottish, Time Travel Romance (Morna’s Legacy Book 5)
E-o sent to the future for a witch to heal him. When he was returned the witch had finally 4 more people sent to the past. A wicked witch wanted to hurt a child but when confronted with another witch things turned.
I love "Love Beyond Measure". I fell in love with little Cooper and love Eoghanan’s love story with Grace. This was such a magical story and Cooper is beyond amazing.
I enjoyed this book tremendously! I like all the characters and they seem real as you are reading along. I’ve enjoyed the series and recommend reading to everyone that enjoys time travel and Scotland.
I loved this book, who couldn't love little Cooper after all? He reminded me of my grand niece, who was smarter than a whip at two years old. Because of him I loved the storyline in this one more than the others so far! I am glad there's more books to follow!
This book was so good! I love little 4 almost 5 year old Cooper! Who wouldn't want a kid like him! I highly recommend this book. It will tug at the old heartstrings throughout the book!
This Book 5 was just fantastic. The Storyline and characters were the best. Can not wait to read Book 6. I am a Time Travel Romantic for life. These stories keep me turning the pages and living in my mind right along side them.
If you like time travel, romance novels, then I think you’ll like this series. I recommend reading the 4 books before this one. It will help you better follow the characters. New ones added in each novel.
I love this series because the characters keep me entertained and excited while the storyline holds my attention from start to finish! I highly recommend it. Please note that it should be read in order, enjoy!
1640s and present day mesh together in this magical romp, sensual, loving, cohesive, with action but also the violence of the time. The bad people get what they deserve with the justice of the time. The hot sex helps balance it out.
"Yahoo! Love this series" I read the book first, but the audio version makes it oh so much better! I love listening to the accents, the performance is great! It makes the story come totally to life.
Loved this book. I really enjoy the time travel with the romance and mystery. Great character development with both original and new characters. Look forward to remaining books in series.
