WOW,what a perfect end to this delicious dark story!
Gemma James took us on a journey to hell and back,again and again.
In this final part,Alex and Rafe are torn apart just after they got married. Zach is up to his evil tricks again... i wish Rafe’d killed him when he had the chance!
Alex locks herself in the cage Rafe built in the basement,but how long can she keep Zach out? And Rafe...Shelton took his son,and uses him as a means to get Rafe to do what he wants....
Is there any hope for Alex and Rafe? Can they find a way to get out of the clutches of evil?
Can they get revenge for the wrong that’s been done to them?
If you want to know,i suggest you start reading.....fast! Trust me,you will love it!

I think I'm a minority here but I think this book should have never happened. I mean I LOVED all previous books. I was chewing my fingernails and sweating like being in 100c sauna. But this one..
It went to the same round of repetition and I completely lost my interest.
Rafe should have killed Zach at the end of previous book, you know the death fight that would have been a good justice.
I didn't understand why Alex decided to save Zach and let him escape after all that he did for her. This was hard to comprehend.
Also there were lot of scenes in this book what were way OTT. I just can't, as I said this book should have never happened or just being a nice fluffy Epilogue, God knows after this roller coaster of emotional series it would be welcomed.

Gah! I was sucked into this nail-biting conclusion from page one! But that comes as no big surprise because the thrillingly twisted love saga, featuring this crazy effed up couple whose hearts beat solely for each other, has always giddily pushed me out of my comfort zone with an intoxicating cocktail of DELICIOUS DEPRAVITY, DARK OBSESSION, SPINE-CHILLING SUSPENSE, GUT-WRENCHING EMOTION, TOE-CURLING PLEASURE ….and an EPIC, SOUL-BURNING PASSION that defies all reason!
In this final book, my heart broke for Rafe whose loved ones were used as a pawn, catapulting him into one last bloody death match, but Alex was the TRUE WARRIOR of DESCENT. The horrors she was forced to endure, to SURVIVE, at the hands of a monster were unspeakable. However, her love for Rafe and her precious growing secret TRUMPED ALL, and the lengths she took to gain the upper hand had me cheering like a psycho fangirl!
There is a fair amount of graphic violence in this book—so heed the trigger warnings —but if you have gotten this far in the series you know what to expect! Even so, some of the content did make me shudder and cringe and want to cower in a corner. But the beauty of Ms. James writing is there is always beauty and light, hope and redemption entwined through the hard iron bars, and even the most torturous, knee-buckling moments eventually culminate in the headiest of pleasures.
“Rafe played my body to his own dark and sadistic tune. A tune my body couldn’t help but dance to.”
And, ultimately, the dark, entrancing love that will forever shackle this deeply devoted duo together finally triumphs in the end! Alex and Rafe truly do move heaven and earth to be together and while there are new scars between them that need to be healed — “I needed him, thirsted for the anesthetic of his punishing love”—their hard fought, beautifully choreographed reunion is everything I could have ever hoped and dreamed! It’s hot and tawdry. Rough and animalistic. Rapturously romantic. Heart shatteringly emotional. And so deeply satisfying it left me in a EUPHORIC STATE OF STARRY-EYED BLISS!
Bottom line: Alex and Rafe's HEA is sheer perfection and the icing on the cake? The bad guys finally get their long overdue comeuppance! Payback is indeed a b*tch. (Hee hee!)
That said, the ending is admittedly bittersweet for me—what a wild, adrenaline-pumping ride we embarked on throughout the series. But I truly could not have envisioned a more FITTING finale and hope rings eternal that Jax and Angel will get their own spinoff series one day!
So, kudos, Gemma James, I am once again COMPLETELY IN AWE of your mind-blowing talent !

4.5 stars!! Nobody does deliciously dark and depraved as well as Gemma James, and she sure ended the Codemned series with a BOOM!! Just when I thought Rafe and Alex could bask in their much deserved HEA, enemies from their past make another appearance. I have to admit that Alex’s 6 days in hell with her captor had my insides churning with dread. I didn’t enjoy those chapters at all, and couldn’t wait for the tables to be turned and holy smokes, when it did, I was fist pumping and yelling “YESSSSSSS!!!”. As always Ms. James did not disappoint and delivered a heart stopping finale which made my heart soar. My only qualm is that I wished that Zach’s end was on page. After everything that he put Alex through, I really needed that to give me the closure for this amazing series.

Omg!! Where does one begin??! This is the last installment of the Condemned series and even though I hated that it was ending, it ended with a bang!! Intense and full of angst and chaos!! Had me on edge and saddened at the same time!! Dark and twisted!! Revenge never looked so good!! Outstanding finale!!

Descent is the book that we didn’t know this series was missing! From the first line this book jumps right into the crazy whirlwind that only Gemma can deliver! Immediately you are thrust into the dark and twisted ways of those looking to use Alex and Rafe for their own pleasure and gain. Just like every book in the Condemned series, this one does not hold back! You will not only be on the edge of your seat you will be begging for the happy ending that is long over due and always just out of reach. This is not a standalone, you must start at the beginning, but if you are caught up, this is the ending that will leave you complete, even if I am still secretly wishing for more Rafe and Alex! ;)

Like most of you twisted and devious fans of Gemma James, I COULD NOT WAIT for the conclusion of this story… and yet, now I’m super depressed its over. I almost didn’t want to start it because I knew I wouldn’t put it down and it would be over too quick… and that’s exactly what happened! I went in still anxious from the cliff hanger of the previous book… with the same energy one would have checking to see if the spider is really dead under the shoe, I flipped the pages. Utterly exhausted, and more pleased with this ending than I could have imagined, I am ready to say goodbye to Rafe and Alex. (Especially knowing I will come back and read the entire series again one day — its one of the best out there!)

Let’s get into it… I don’t have anything to say in the dislike category about how Gemma wrapped up this story. I felt it was short and sweet but gave me all the action and drama I was hoping for in the conclusion. Although very sad about the miscarriage, I think everything worked out as best it could given the lives these two lead. The whole time Zach was in control I was so worried that Rafe wouldn’t reunite with Alex until the very end of the book and I would be sad and wanting more. Of course I want more, but I was very pleased with the reunion and how things evolved.
I think I will leave this review (like the book) ‘short and sweet’ because I am still reeling from finishing it not 10 minutes ago. Bottom line, read this series and immerse yourself in the highly addicting disfunction that is the Condemned Series: Books 1-4. These books introduced me to dark erotica… a genre I wasn’t even sure I’d be into. Coming from my love of PNR, I didn’t think this would hold my interest but now it is one of the few stories I hold up to compare to others.
Thank you, Gemma James for this wonderful and thrilling experience… This epic love story was amazing and will continue to haunt me.

I started this series on Monday, I had read the first three books well over a year ago so I reread them. The heartbreak, the turmoil, the lust, the submission….then the kidnappings, the amnesia, the torture of body and mind, the r@pe, the god awful “brother”.
Then I get to the last 3 books, holy shit balls Batman. I’ve laughed, I’ve cried, I’ve screamed, I’ve gotten so mad I can’t see straight.
The last three books in the condemned series was a whirlwind of complete submission, earning trust, and showing forgiveness, it was healing and growing. No of that wouldn’t have been accomplished had it not been for the awful rocky road our FMC and MMC were forced to go down.
My heart broke for Rafe and Will. My heart broke for Alex when Zach pushed too far and cost her a portion of her heart. My heart broke for Alex when Rafe, yet again, had no choice but to leave her there. Yet the guilt he feels is so damning.
Alex, god she is a force to be reckoned with. She is so strong. She has the fight of the baddest and biggest warrior. Let me tell you she FOUGHT.
Not here to sugar coat shit, Alex and Rafe have a DARK relationship, it full of bd/sm type subjects, pushing limits, lots of pain, and probably a tad bit of abuse. But with this story Alex loves the pain only when it’s from Rafe. They are the other half of one another.
The sex is *chef’s kiss* (I’m probably a little fucked in the head too) but these books will forever live rent free in my head.

June 3, 2019When I seen this was being released, I had to have a binge reread - Rafe is not a guy you can go in half heartedly and oh my freaking word...even though I could remember everything, I was still on the edge of my seat! Screaming at them, holding my breath, crying - you name it and every emotion went through me!!
Then Descent started and talk about a rollercoaster!!....
Rafe & Alex have got their wedding, they're chilling, they're in love (and yes it's not a convential hearts and flowers love, it's so far from that! But there's no denying that they do love each other!) and I love that Alex is feisty! You get so many dark books that the main lady just takes it all, bows down, yes sir no sir bla bla, not Alex! No sir-ee! She still has a mind of her own and yes there's no doubt Rafe's an alpha male but she's still got spirit, her own mind and she stands up to him and I think that's what makes this story work.
I don't want to go into the actual story because this needs to be read firsthand!
I will say though, that this is dark! And dangerous, and scary, and thrilling and twisted and above all else - addictive! So be sure you've got a good few free hours before you sit down with this because once you start, you have to keep going until you have turned that last page!
An excellent read that I thoroughly thoroughly recommend!!!

The conclusion to their long and suffering story. (You definitely need to read the previous books to follow along.) SPOILER ALERT if you aren't caught up with the series: The previous book (Deviant) left us hanging the morning after Alex and Rafe's wedding. It should have been a happy time for the two who have already had so much destruction in their lives. But nothing seems to go as planned for the couple. Rafe is missing and Alex is imprisoned once again... in her own home. Alex is going to find out how strong she actually is. With Zach in the picture again, she's starting to crumble. Hanging by a thread. Still as dark as ever, and filled with evil. But since this is the grand finale, it has a different ending that even surprises the couple. While there is the violence that you may be familiar with, there is also a sense of relief. (Of course that could be because we know it's the end.) Same characters you loathe as well as those you love. (Though the hatred runs deep and plenty and far outweighs the love.) It is a well written story and keeps you intrigued and sitting on the edge of your seat. It goes without saying that due to the subject matter and sexual content, this is intended for mature readers.

This series finally comes to an end, and I am glad that I at least enjoyed the ending of this book. Throughout this book, I was not a fan, mainly because I am tired of seeing the same terrible situation occur over and over, like use something else. Although I really think that in this book, the characters connect emotionally and not all physically. With that being said, I am okay with this series ending. I personally did not like these books, nor do I care for them much, and I wouldn't read anything similar to this. This series is not a dark romance series, it is seriously fucked up, and I feel that is why I do not like these books. I wanted to give it a try, I did, and I will never again. I also do not like this author's writing style, mainly being she makes things too complicated when they shouldn't be.

Deliciously Dark and Naughty
This book is not for the faint of heart and you really need goodness the previous in the series before you read this book or thou will be lost. This is delish and dark. Rate and Alex seriously cannot get a break but I love them and their unique well earned love. My heart broke and healed as the emotional roller coaster twisted and turned in every direction. . . I hop this isn't the last of Alex and Rafe it was great to see her strength and emotional growth. I read this book in a day and although I received and ARC I purchased the book this is a must have once I started I couldn't put it down
This book is not for the faint of heart and you really need goodness the previous in the series before you read this book or thou will be lost. This is delish and dark. Rate and Alex seriously cannot get a break but I love them and their unique well earned love. My heart broke and healed as the emotional roller coaster twisted and turned in every direction. . . I hop this isn't the last of Alex and Rafe it was great to see her strength and emotional growth. This book had me cringing, ugly crying and just straight up wanting to choke someone.
Alex asked alone afraid getting married to learn a person she never wanted to be around again is in her kitchen.
Rafe is taken to be a puppet for someone else. Will he comply for the safety of his son?
Rafe and Alex do come together again but what was the cost.
I know this was going to end the series but I'm hoping Jax gets his own book and we hear more of Rafe and Alex. I'd also love to see how they handle the other person!

THIS BOOK WAS NOT IT!!!!! First off I thought that eventually rafe would become a father to Will and when it didn’t happen I was DISAPPOINTED AS FUCK but then at the end of this book he wants to have one while being a deadbeat to will? I CAN’T!! and then we didn’t even get an ending scene with Zach? Also, did I just miss the part with Alex’s backstory? Like did she not have friends? Or go to school? Or a grandma? Like I feel like she’s an enigma. Rafe was the only character with depth and even then not THAT much. I also feel like they all just moved on from Nikki’s death SO QUICKLY and it only happened for shock factor because she was literally never mentioned again.

This story is INTENSE as soon as you open the book. Rage and Alex have already been through so much, but they are forced, yet again, to endure more. Will they survive? Does their story end on a happy note?
I’m zipping my lips, and letting you find out for yourselves. I will say this: this book is freaking FANTASTIC!! I’m leaving satisfied. This book is an absolute must read. It’s full of triggers, so steer clear if you’re faint of heart, but if you love the darkness, like I do...read this effing book!!

If you have triggers I'd pass on this one. Holy hell it was one grand adventure.
More darkness, more anger, more heartbreak...
With every little crazy turn Alex and Rafe finally find their piece of happiness.

Wow! I absolutely loved is the gripping conclusion to one of the best series’ I’ve ever read. Gemma James is a fearless writer who doesn’t shy away from what’s needed to make a story great. I highly recommend it you won’t be disappointed.

Ok dark, black or black n blue this one gets a 5 star!
I loved this ending story! I 've discovered a little about my own self from reading this series too, choking is more fearful then being raped and your body deceiving you. No ending could have been better than this one! I don't know if I will ever read this type of story again, but I am so glad that I gasped my way though all six! I hope there is a story for Angel, I loved her and would love to read her happy ending!

lord save me by this point i really was expecting the writer to kill the villains off in such a creative and satisfying way i could excuse having read such a long series,,, i had to edit this bcs i didn’t even realize this was the last book of the series, that’s how boring it was,,, the villains didn’t get half as bad as they should’ve but ending on a positive note at last the couple found some peace

ARC review For honest review. When rafe is taken by sheton and Alex is left on the island zack her brother finds her ,this man is sick in his head over her , But she will do what she has to go protect her and her unborn child from him. Awesome story This is story of you don't like rape don't read but if you can handle it this book will have you rutting for Alex . 10 stars

What a fantastic end to Rafe and Alex's story I have read and enjoyed this entire series and seem to have been waiting for this one forever and it was well worth the wait it is another well-written action-packed read that pulled me in and kept me hooked right until the very end get settled for this one you are not going to want to put it down

This is the last book in the Condemned series and the wait was worth it! Gemma does not disappoint! All books should be read in order and all I can say is you will want to read each one. And I know for sure I will be reading this series again since I am sad this is it for Alex and Rafe and the dark twisted lives they have.

Ending of condemned
Honestly, I skimmed this heavily just like the last book because I wanted to know what happened. I'm glad I didn't waste my time. The story could have ended a few books ago. It just didn't progress the way I wanted it to. Series had a lot of potential but fell short for me.

I ate this one up QUICK just hoping a praying for a sliver of a happy ending after book 5 put me through the wringer. We got there! Very, and I mean VERY, unconventionally but nonetheless Alex & Rafe got their HEA.
(This could have a 100% been like 3 books and that sorta pmo but the drama was so good I kept reading)
