Be warned..there is probably spoilers about to happen.
But Lawd knows I have to get this out of the way first: I KNOW the author says that there is cheating in this book. I knew that going in and I know that books are fantasy.
Now let's get to what I really thought. AND ONCE AGAIN I MAY SPOIL ON THIS ONE...because stupid happens and stupid pisses me off.
This book starts off with lovely Jules having an affair with her married boss. But it's okay because she was drunk and doesn't really remember it.
So she is (at first) all crushed because her live in boyfriend is breaking up with her because of it.
Poor Jules is soooo very upset that she feels that she must leave town (her butt getting fired for sleeping with the boss is beside the point.)
So she is on a plane headed towards her best friend's where she can start a new life and lick her wounds.
Then on the plane she sees hot guy.
Cheesy ass flirting happens.
I'm almost afraid that if I open my eyes, he'll see the truth.
That I'm falling hard 35,000 feet above the ground.
Then hot guy drops the bomb of him just happening to be married. But he knows his wife is cheating on him.
Poor guy.
When Jules ends up where she is going she realizes that she needs a job in order to start her new life.
I bet you will never, ever guess who her new boss is going to be?
Hot guy himself. Cash Montgomery..
Cash knows he shouldn't hire Jules as his personal assistant but he gets to thinking with his other brain and does it anyways.
They can keep their distance from each other. They just know it.
That last five seconds. They are pining away with their juicy hormones. After all wife is cheating isn't she? (I totally never really felt a hundred percent that she was..all the proof was a text message of her with a man..no sender info or nothing.)
There is lots of angsty bullshit where each of them say that they are going to behave themselves when we all know that the freaky deaky is going to be happening soon. (At times I thought I might like Jules a bit because she would sorta push him away but here he would come again)
These two characters were so beyond stupid. All they both thought about was their private parts and how much juices they were making. I sure didn't feel a lurrrve connection. More like just insta-stupid-lust.
Regardless of how little I actually know Jules, my gut tells me I can trust her.
I hate when a smexy time book gets ruined with stupid characters.

I knew what I might be getting into when I read this book but this “heroine” was truly not likeable because she was the ow and had no compunction about being with a married man. I know he was no angel either but his wife cheated and he still wanted to make things work with her when he wasn’t all over the h. The h gets all jealous when she sees him with his wife even though she knowingly still slept with him knowing he was married! I didn’t like any of the characters so I won’t read the next book.

Gemma James, what have you done to me? Trashy Foreplay is the first book I have read from the author and will not be the last. Mouth dropping. Wow. I wanted a book based on cheating, and that is what I got. Remember, not everything is black & white; there is a whole grey area. This book is not for everyone, and that is okay.
Jules has been on and off from her boyfriend for years, events happened, and he left her for good. Jules is ashamed and doesn't want to deal with her family; she books the next flight to Seattle to stay with her best friend and start her own life.
Cash (love his name) receives a picture of his wife with another man and flies him early to Seattle to confront her. What he didn't expect was to sit next to Jules and have an instant attraction to her.
The last thing I expected when I boarded this plane was to fall headfirst into another poleaxing moment. Fuck me. Consider me poleaxed.
Jules has been on and off from her boyfriend for years, events happened, and he left her for good. Jules is ashamed and doesn't want to deal with her family; she books the next flight to Seattle to stay with her best friend and start her own life.

They part ways as life is messy and thus need to move forward until Jules is being interviewed for an assistant to the Ceo, who happens to be Cash. Cash knows he shouldn't offer her the job, and Jules knows she shouldn't accept the job, but she needs the money, and both agree to keep it professional. Both are trying to fight their feelings, and lines start to blur.
The love the original storyline; I devoured this book in a few short hours. There are some steamy scenes, so don't be discouraged. The sexual chemistry between the two is explosive. The story is more about how they end up cheating and the mystery behind his wife. That cliffhanger was a whopper, and I didn't see it coming.

Gemma James is a naughty girl who made me want her characters to do really naughty things they had no business doing. Don't judge. It's fiction! Cash and Jules have an insta-lust connection that leads to the most forbidden, sinful and agonizing slow burn EVER. Intense and provocative, there is so much heat, tension and angst I felt like I had been set on fire and then slowly ripped in half. I'm not convinced that everything is as it seems. I think there are a couple of major twists still to come. No to mention I was TOTALLY unprepared for the cliff-hanger. I totally missed the "Trashy Affair #1" part on the cover, so be warned. CLIFFHANGER AHEAD! But it's so worth it.

I knew going in that this book was going to be a bit different than what I am used to. It deals with adultery (clearly stated in a warning in the blurb) and that’s not my cup of tea. However, I have enjoyed this author’s writing before and I always like trying something new and different and this one piqued my curiosity so I jumped in with eyes wide open. And I ended up really enjoying it.
Cash and Jules have immediate chemistry and they are either leaving a dysfunctional relationship or in the process of trying to figure out what to do next in one. This is far from a safe read but there was no doubt that this couple were emotionally connected and were lost as to how to find a place where they could be together.
Filled with a ton of angst, I sometimes waivered over how I felt about Cash’s marriage and his wife. I’m still unsure what that particular plotline will entail but I confess I’m curious as heck about it. This book is very well written, fast paced and I never felt like it bogged down. I was engrossed from the first word to the last. And I’m so glad I don’t have to wait for book 2 to release as it’s just around the corner because it ends in one doozy of a cliffhanger.

Oh. My. God!!! I just devoured the most SCANDALOUSLY sexy book by one of my all-time fave authors!!!!! It was so thrillingly sensual and wildly addictive it left me craving more…more...more! I freaking ADORE everything Gemma James writes, and even though TRASHY FOREPLAY, book one in her Trashy Affair series was a huge departure from her darker fare, at its core is a rapturous love story that left me completely euphoric !!!
This book is fantasy fulfillment to the hilt! I mean at one time or another haven’t we ALL daydreamed about meeting Mr. Tall, Dark & Sexy on an airplane? Well, it came to fruition for our beleaguered heroine, Jules Harley, who has a fateful encounter with a debonair stranger which forever alters her life!!
Coming off devastating breakup, the last thing an emotionally wrecked Jules needs are more complications, but that’s exactly what she gets when Cash Montgomery slides into the seat beside her on the plane ride to Seattle, where she is relocating for a much needed fresh start. Okay, here's the deal. I am very particular and picky when it comes to books with cheating. I need to love the characters for me to actually enjoy a book with such a trope. So color me shocked when this book hooked me right from the start!!!! August started very well.
Trashy Foreplay broke my heart and excited me!
Jules is a woman completely wrecked by her relationship with her boyfriend but she is not without blame either.
At a dead-end with her relationship and fired from her job because she slept with her boss, she flees. She finds refuge with her best friend, far away from home.
But life is not fair when one chance meeting on a plane once again breaks her heart.
Cash is kind, caring, gorgeous and married. He is also her new boss.
Feelings get twisted, love is bitter but in the end it's worth it. Will the road be smooth when Jules falls hard for her new boss? NOPE.
I loved how this book was choreographed! I loved the character development, the story and I loved that it made me feel!!! Cash was an amazing character with a strong moral code! I loved being inside his head!!!!
Fast paced and brimming with emotion, this book has easily landed on my favorite reads of 2017!

I’m not going to lie…..I went into this book just needing a good smutty book, little did I know this was going to be so much more. This was a KU and I seriously thought it would just be an easy smutty book (CLEARLY I did NOT read the synopsis) but this story was fueled by adultery. This will be my second book this month that has cheating and books with cheating are NOT really my thing. I won’t say I don’t ever read them but I certainly do not seek them out and I have been known to just steer clear of them if I see that in the synopsis. The subject can be uncomfortable but the author really did a good job of addressing it and constantly gave you the feelings of ALL of the characters involved.
Cash and Jules are great main characters and although I saw some folks reviews that didn’t like Jules, I personally felt she was sweet and thoughtful more so than a push over but that is just my take on it.
This storyline is really different than any other I have read before. It is unusual, thought provoking and mysterious and I must admit I really devoured this book. It ends on a cliffhanger and luckily I already had the second book ready to go.

But Life is the most Unfair at best. Jules knows a thing or two about this , she's been in a pickle , time or two. She had an affair with her married boss and now has to flee Whiskey Flatts because she's guilt ridden
I slept with my boss. My fucking boss. I feel sick. Sick and small as I wonder how I ended up here. Cheating on my boyfriend, sleeping with a married man… By noon today all eleven hundred people in Whiskey Flats will hear of my transgression. They’ll call me a slut. The pearl clutchers will stone my reputation to a bloody pulp.
So she flees.... on the plane to Seattle !. And who slides in the seat next to her , the oh-so-ravishing Cash Montgomery . He has Steel grey eyes too( wonder if all grey eyed hunks reside in Seattle ;p) . There's an instant attraction
The chemistry between us is too powerful to be denied, and right or wrong, we’ve gravitated toward each other from the beginning.
And when she reaches Seattle, guess what happens *gasp*
Gotta read it to find out ;)

My goodness...I was not expecting this book, AT ALL!! So much yum is packed into this tantalizing and tempting quick read!
Okay....so, I'm just going to say it: some people will probably be turned off right away from this book, because the author clearly states that this story involves cheating. Some people will consider this a fine line to cross when incorporating it into the subject matter. But the approach the author took with this controversial topic and expanding the reader's perception was just downright brilliant!
Trashy Foreplay is so much more than what is initially expected. You're given a story about two lost and heartbroken people, who find an all-consuming love during one of the worst times in their lives. And no matter what they say to themselves and each other, and how hard they fight it, their passion and chemistry is too powerful of a force to deny. You learn what drove each character to where they are, and the choices everyone made. And the more that is uncovered, you can't help but hope for what everyone wants out of life...a HEA.
By the time you're finished with this book, you'll be left with more questions than what you started out with. That's all I'm going to say about that, as I hate revealing spoilers. Actions have been taken that will leave you curious, and decisions need to be made that will toy with your emotions.
I was instantly captivated with this story line and the unique characters at play. Just when I was finally given what I wanted, it was ripped away, and I was left desperately wanting more! I'm beyond excited for the next book! If it's even half as good as Trashy Foreplay, I know I won't be disappointed.

I seriously just devoured TRASHY FOREPLAY in a matter of hours!!! Gemma James delivers a 5 star, page turning goodness of a forbidden story that got under my skin from the very first page!! This book was unputadownable!!!! Its a story that had me teetering on the edge of my seat the whole time, and my heart lodged permanently in my throat!!! This was a highly addictive read for me, packed with a lot of emotions!!!
I loved Cash - he was so INTENSE and had this presence that just overwhelmed me through the pages!!! Talk about swoony!!!! I couldn't get enough of him!!! My heart really hurt for both Cash and Jules - their chemistry so potent yet their circumstances was so forbidden!!!!
I love Ms. James's narrative - I love the way she writes from dual POVs and the ease in how her story unfolds! I can't wait to dive into TRASHY CONQUEST!!! 5+ "fated" stars!!!!!

The title was misleading. It wasn't trashy, and there wasn't much foreplay unless you consider flirting foreplay. The only thing that made this remotely trashy was that Cash was married. It didn't bother me because it was clear his marriage had been on the rocks for a while. It was one of those things where it seemed like it was over but he hadn't admitted it to himself yet.
It was good but lacked the intensity of Gemma James's dark romances. It was a quick read, and I didn't want to put it down. I've read stories similar to this before. It's not my favorite type of romance. The ending was a surprise in a good way. Obviously something was going to happen, but I was expecting something different.

I wasn't sure what I was walking into with this one, but I ended up being totally invested in these characters and dying for the next book. Come March they better get their HEA.

I don't even know what to say about this book. My feelings are so mixed up on it. I have been wanting to read Trashy Foreplay since I found out about it, and even though I've never read Gemma James I had really high hopes for it.While I was reading it, I couldn't stop. I read the entire book in one day because it is a definite page-turner. But then the events at the end + the cliffhanger dampened my feelings on it a bit.
Chemistry and anticipation were the key factors in why I couldn't tear my eyes from the page. Gemma James created great tension throughout the entirety of the book and I can see why she's a bestselling author. I'll probably try more of her work, but I'm not sure if I'll be finishing the Trashy Affair series.

Trashy Foreplay by Gemma James is the First Book in the "Trashy Affair" series. This is the story of Jules and Cash.
Jules and Cash are attracted to each other after meeting on a air plane. Jules is dealing with a past mistake that she wants to make a fresh stat. Cash is in a bad marriage with a cheating wife.
Jules and Cash have so much that should keep them away from each other but their feelings won't be denied easily.
This book does end with a cliffhanger to set you up for the next book in this series.
Overall I really enjoyed this book and find Ms. James books hard to put down. Since there is the married man with single women story line keep that in mind if it is a issue for you.

This was different. The fmc and longtime live in bf are on a break and she sleeps with her married boss. Is it cheating if they were on a break. Anyways he gets mad and calls off their Rey for good. She immediately hope on a plane and moves to Seattle. On the plane she and her seat mate have an electric connection and almost kiss. A few weeks later she finds out the H is her new married boss. Anyways his wife is cheating on him but he says multiple times he’s in love with her. He also acts like he is… but he’s also attracted to the h. I didn’t know this was a duet and it ends on a cliffy.

This story gave me the hick-ups. I mean, that's what happens when you INHALE a book like I did Trashy Foreplay. It's one of those reads that when I realized how close to the end I was reaching, I started to feel sad that it was almost over. I couldn't fathom not having Cash and Jules to pant over. I started to worry about the pace of the story and how Ms. James was going to wrap it up. Then I discovered, much to my delight, that it's a part of a series...YAY US!!
This story starts out strong and never lets up. When it opens Jules is lamenting the demise of her relationship with a boy named Chris. It's not entirely her fault, it takes two, and that is a message that plays loud over the course of the book. Soon after, Jules meets Cash, and both start to believe in fate. What put them in first class as seat mates, why are they so drawn to each other?
"From the first moment I looked into his eyes, the earth seemed to stop. And when he touched me, bringing me back from the edge of fear and despair, my body came alive . Why I feel safe enough to confide in him, I’m not sure, but maybe I just need to break”
We get their story from both of their perspectives, which gives us a truly comprehensive view of Jules and Cash’s feelings. The stakes are very high and there are many great unknowns, adding a element of mystery to Cash’s wife Monica who seems to have something going on the side and no real love for Cash. With the pacing of this story is very much about flirting and wanting something you shouldn’t want nor should you have. Sometimes the timing is simply all wrong.
Gemma James leaves us with dangling but not too close to the edge. There’s much to ponder about Cash and Monica, Cash and Kaden, but most especially Cash and Jules. I really can’t wait for book 2, Trashy Conquest, and to be pulled from the edge. Although this my first Gemma James so I’m not certain if it’s her style to push us over. However it goes it’s gonna be a fun ride.

I tried to be a good girl. I swear. But the blurb kept teasing me, it kept whispering in my ear all the filthy possibilities. I'm only human. I can't help that a small part of me needed to know just how this book plays out.
So here I am justifying my curiosity to people who could care less. I just want you to know, I didn't start out wanting to reading books with cheating. I even justify that too. Or I could if I cared enough...
The tension, chemistry, and overwhelming need in this book is off the charts hot. You may not like cheating (my hand is raised on that one) but the heat in this book is undeniable.
Also it seems like this is just the beginning...somehow I missed that part before. Trashy Foreplay is one book 1 of...not sure how many but I do know that I will be waiting.
Even if you call me trashy...

Oh my word, Gemma James…what did you write lady?
When I signed up for Trashy Foreplay, I did so with great trepidation. The last book I read from Gemma James was from the Condemned series; dark, twisty books that assuaged my palette for reading. I loved those books, and still they remain among one of my favourite series. I was wary about reading her New Adult work in case it disappointed. I knew it was different but the irresistible pull of this author, and the way she writes, pulled me in.
I hoovered the first chapter, falling in love again with the way this author so eloquently writes. I was immersed in the feels and the emotions that were emoted through her character, Jules, who we meet first. Then in walks Cash, equally emotive and just as devastated as Jules. From the moment they meet, you feel it, and you just know Trashy Foreplay is going to drag you through the ringer. There’s nothing trashy about this novel. Nothing. I’m not recapping the story here, you need to read it and make up your own mind.
From a technical point of view, Trashy Foreplay is as cliched and overdone as you can get. But Gemma James takes the plot and absolutely owns it, makes it her own. The book put me a little in mind of Mo Mabie’s Bait. That’s not to say it’s a carbon copy, because it’s not, the book is so far from it. However, Gemma James writes some exquisite angst that rivals Bait, another book I loved for this very reason. I fought to find the right words to describe how I felt through many of the chapters. Watching Jules and Cash struggle had me feeling hopeless on occasions. Despair – it’s the only word to sum up a large portion of my feelings while reading.
We have to talk cliff hangers – because Trashy Foreplay has one. It’s quick. There’s a phenomenal high, luring the reader into a false sense of security – them boom! It all comes tumbling down in true cliffy style. And this is where my 4.5 review comes in. Trashy Foreplay was riding the coat tails of five shiny stars until the very last sentence. Not because it was a cliff hanger, no. I love a good one. More so the fact that I felt it was weak, too tame and didn’t seem in keeping with the book. Any other author and I’d say they lacked courage to pull out the big guns but not this author. Gemma James has the guts to twist a reader sideways and isn’t afraid to do it, nor think twice. So, the cliff hanger confused me until I sat and thought about it in terms of follow through to the next book. I get it, I do. There’s much more to that story thread. Still, it didn’t sit so well with me.
Trashy Foreplay is a book you will devour and despair over. Gemma James stabs her inked pen into your heart a time or two before you reach the end. I understand why this book was difficult to write but boy, oh boy did the author absolutely nail it. If you pick up on the subtle hints and twists woven between the obvious then you’ve done well and I see no reason why you won’t be champing at the bit for round two. I know I am.
Highly recommended for the angst, the flair, the beauty of Gemma James words bringing this story to light. Sublimely seductive. I hope you enjoy as much as I did.

To be honest with you, I have no idea what to rate this story. It was angsty and frustrating and had me hypnotized and I have no idea how I'm going to survive until January with that whopper of an ending!
Yes, there is cheating in this book as it warns, but you are going to hope for the two to still find a way to get together, even though it is crazy stressful and you will want to rip your hair out of your head in frustration and guilt. It's soo consuming that you will wish you could fix all of their problems for them, but alas you can't, because at the end of the day Cash is a MARRIED MAN!
"I'm not sure how something can be so easy and difficult at the same time, but that's how it is with Jules. Want her is downright wrong. But being with her is as easy as breathing."
There are so many moving parts to this book you don't know the full story, but you think you know but at the same time you are really unsure. Not much is resolved in this story, in fact... this story is one big tangled web of debauchery and deceit and lust and it's so tangled up that you are going to sit there and try to untangle it, but you can't. You just can't.
So, grab this book, then come talk to me about it for ohh... five months or so!

Jules breaks all the rules;
“Never flirt with temptation.” ~ When seated next to a man on a plane whom the chemistry is nothing like she has never felt; she breathes a sigh of relief when he walks away with only a kiss on the cheek.
“Never lust after what I can’t have.” ~ Lust is putting it lightly, but their banter is bordering on intimacy through the entire book.
“And never, under any circumstances, screw a married man again.” ~ You think Jules would have learned this lesson the first time around; but the attraction to this man who is in a very unhappy marriage creates a tempting situation. Especially when he wants her so much.
Cash is in a loveless marriage to an unfaithful wife. They are both unhappy and have fully acknowledged this. Now, he only wants peace and happiness. He believes he can have that with Jules. Keeping her away will be a challenge of his restraint.
These two are made for each other... Hopefully in the end they will be together...

4 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Stars! Another Forbidden treat! This was so good. Forbidden because he was her married boss. This one was sexy and salacious. Cash was stuck in an unhappy marriage, more for convenience really. Here comes irresistible Jules fucking up his world, lol. So of course sparks flew and their was a lot of sexual tension all around. My favorite is their text messages, rife with sexual tension and innuendos. Cash and Jules didn’t jump into things right away, in fact nothing much happened until closer towards the 80% mark but it was a great build up.
So interesting cliffhanger. Book 2 was a long wait, so hope I’m not disappointed. Off to read book 2.
I’ve been having some luck lately with some pretty decent reads, lord knows it probably won’t last that much longer, but until then bring on the “good reads”!

This book is amazing just simply amazing. I know that is has some triggers for some but cheating is a thing that happens in marriages and relationships and I don't feel like Cash cheated on his wife as she did it first to him. All Cash wanted was to be loved and have the perfect life and he thought he had that with his wife until he found out that she was cheating on him and broke his heart.
Cash stayed faithful to his wife till he met Jules on the plane and the chemistry between the two of them is off the hook and neither of them can deny it. But then Jules finds out that her new start to life is her boss and how the hell can she handle that. How can she stand to see him everyday and not want him.
This is an amazing story that does have cheating in it but it is still amazing to me because if I were in that predicament I would have done the same.

Sweet. This was a fun quick read. Even though it took a couple days to finish, I blame that on my schedule. I liked the romance between Jules and Cash. CASH...drooling just thinking about him.
I wouldn’t say this book wa super climactic or that the story was intense. It was sweet. A girl, fresh out of a breakup, majorly due to her own fault meets the hottest, sexiest guy on the planet on her plane ride. Looking for a new job, Cash hires her and the sexy-flirting games begin! I loved their banter.
It ends on a cliffhanger. Which was the only sucky part. Besides that I enjoyed it.
