There are things I liked about this story. It was set during the beginning of covid time and I thought it portrayed the feeling and the various reactions that were rampant at the time. I liked the setting and characters were quite real. There was one incident that brought me down, way down, and I didn't like that, but I carried on and it turned out to be interesting, frustrating, sad, but had action and brutality, and that happens with creature features.

A Creature Feature with a Twist
Pendulum is the story of a couple staying at a cabin in the woods, but their peaceful break is cut short when something in the woods begins to stalk them. This is a solid creature feature throughout, but really shines in the last third of the book. Jessica Eppley delivers on a climax I didn’t see coming, solidifying Pendulum as a must read book for horror fans.

A well-told novella for horror and mystery fans like. The monster was believable as was its motivations. I like the relationship between the main characters, and the backstory was good too. The book's formatting took time getting used to, but did not detract from the storytelling.

This book is an easy and quick read. Pulls you in quick. I enjoyed it thoroughly. You immediately like Cam and Payce. Being set in the height of pandemic was a good idea too. Very cool book
