Cassie and Cole
Cassie and Cole have been in love with each other for years but kept their feelings hidden. Cassie because she never thought the billionaire cowboy could ever look at her differently. Cole, because he thought he was too old and she wouldn't be interested.
However, when she finds herself struggling to keep her father's ranch a flot, she makes the decision to stop living on dreams that will never happen and signs up to sell her virginity. When Cole finds out, all bets are off. Fantastic read. Great plot, likeable characters, and red hot romance. Highly recommended

This book is part of the Highest Bidder series and the main characters are Cole Rogers, billionaire cowboy ranch owner, and Sassy Reid, the daughter of the ranch owner, Amos, next door to his ranch. He has seen the Reid ranch declining rapidly, as Amos ages and his health is failing. He keeps sending a couple of his ranch hands over to help out, but Amos refuses to accept any handouts and an offer ot buy the ranch led to him not talking to Cole for six months. Since Sassy turned eighteen, Cole has suddenly found himself intensely attracted to her, even though he is some fourteen years her senior and he has avoided her as much as possible thinking his desires are inappropriate. But when one of his hands mentions wanting to ask her out, he sees red and nearly hits his employee. He makes it plain that none of them are to even look at her the wrong way! She is now twenty one and works harder than most men, trying to keep the ranch going, which has been in their family fro generations. At the rate the ranch is going, she may lose it altogether and her father wouldn’t survive for long away from his ranch! She had seen an advert for something outlandish and is about to give it a go. The only way she can get enough money to pay off all the ranch’s debts, fix everything needed and have her father cared for at home, is to auction off the only thing she can, which is her v-card, as the story so delicately puts it! An organisation called the Breeding Bidders Auction, sells off young women to the rich, to lose their virginity and be paid a million dollars. There is even the option for the pair to be married after the auction! She has checked it all out and talked to the organiser and as far as she can figure, it is all legit and her only chance.
She has actually been crushing on Cole since she was a teen, but he has no idea. Her father Amos often forgets who she even is and the pressure she is facing every day just increases when he has his bad days. Cole finally comes to visit her dad, but he has been taken out by some friends and she is all alone at the house. She tells him to get comfy while she quickly finishes off her chores, so he goes around the house and starts making a list of all the things he could help get fixed up. Walking into her study he spots a letter about this auction and is shocked that Sassy would even consider this. She walks back in just as he finds it and when he offers to pay her the million dollars, as a friend and with no strings attached, she refuses, as her father did. Unwilling to accept any charity! Sassy has worked hard on the ranch all of her short life and with her father ill, she has had no time for boyfriends, never even being kissed before. Cole wants to know if she is ready for what will happen to her if she goes ahead with this cockamamie idea. He decides to kiss her and show her what it is like with two people who like and know each other, but warns her it will be nothing like that with a stranger and that she is putting herself in danger! He is far too angry with her to stick around and storms off.
The auction is in a week and he will do all he can to ensure no other man gets to put a hand on her! Once she signed on the dotted line, Sassy can’t withdraw from the auction without a huge cancellation fee which she can’t afford. She has to wear what the organisers have all the women wearing and it certainly isn’t anything she is comfortable in! It seems Cole must care for her more than he has ever shown her, as he has turned up at the auction unbeknown to her and is bidding like mad for her, not wanting anyone else to win her. But when he does win, he doesn’t go through with taking her virginity, although he does take up the other option the auction offers and Sassy is happy to go along with it. He is too much of a gentleman to force himself on her, but she is desperate for him to be with her in that way. It looks like she will have to force his hand, as she did with the auction, and shock him into doing what they both want! She has known for years that the two of them belong together, she just has to make him realise it and forget about the age gap or her innocence. She is going to save him form being the grumpy, hard working boss he portrays to one and all, and finally give him something to smile about! A definite age gap romance, but this time it is the younger woman who knows exactly what she wants from her man and has to go to extremes to get him to take action. The auction was her choice and only option to save her family’s ranch in a way she was happy to do, without relying on a handout or charity, no matter how much she loved her millionaire neighbour all this time. Nice to see a HEA ending and a pair of hardworking people who were made for each other and let nothing get in their way. It just took them time to iron out the small bumps in the way of them being together. An unexpected event being used to save her ranch, but she does what she can to save it for her father’s last years, in the only way she can on her own and with her in control of her actions. Just over here blazing through the Hope Ford catalogue. Fun novella. A lot of the stories have the same equation but I’m not complaining. When I am feeling stressed these type of books are fun and easy.

"Auctioned to the Cowboy" is the story of Cassie and Cole.
Soo.. hero and heroine own neighboring ranches. She is struggling financially, and decides to auction her v card to earn some funds. The hero, who has been smitten (she reciprocates) finally gets his head out his ass and marry her. There's some unnecessary OW drama, barely there sex scene and a HEA.
It was OK. Disappointed.

4 1/2 stars! Contemporary age-gap, millionaire virgin auction
Part of a unique series comprised of stand-alone PNR and non-PNR stories, written by various authors, linked through an auction where virgins voluntarily place themselves up for bid to millionaires and billionaires. The stories feature humans, shifters, and aliens that coexist within the same series thanks to the ringleader of the auction, Coco St. James. This is a slow burn contemporary, age-gap romance, with no cheating and no cliffhangers.

⛔️ Contains subject matter that may be a trigger or offensive to sensitive readers, such as: adult language; mental health challenges of depression, anxiety, from dealing with her father’s illness, etc.; slow burn, steamy adult intimate scenes with elements of dominance, submission, etc.; violence with the threats of fighting, firing, due to jealousy, etc.
Just like the other stories of this series, this is a very fast read. The premise is a contemporary style romance, and while aliens and shifters have stories within the series, they are not even mentioned in this story. This is primarily set within two neighboring ranches and involve an older male millionaire, Cole, that has been fantasizing about his neighbor’s daughter, Sassy, since she came of age a few years ago.
Now his neighbor is struggling with his health, which has led to issues with his finances and maintaining his ranch. Sassy is doing her best, but now she has to take desperate measures to try and keep the ranch for her father. If she fails, Sassy knows her father won’t survive. Her long-time crush of a neighbor is always sending workers over, but it is not enough for her to keep it, so she signs up to sell her virginity through an auction. Then Cole discovers what she has planned, but Sassy has already signed and submitted the paperwork …
I mention the following for readers such as myself, that visualize a story as it is read, as errors interrupt the flow. For some reason, I didn’t remember it having as many issues as it had. Must be because the quality and strength of the characters and story universe. The story contains a moderate amount grammatical issues with incorrect punctuation (commas), a passage that is either an incorrect word choice or missing words, and incorrect capitalization. There is also a passage with inconsistent formatting regarding dialogue, as well as a couple of inconsistencies regarding data (physical positions), but nothing was difficult to interpret. I uploaded my notes to goodreads for anyone interested.

Prefer books cover models NOT SHAVE their BEARD or CHEST or ABS or belly. Just sayin’. Real mountain men and lumberjacks and cowboys living the life portrayed in books like this don’t shave and go to the nearest gym because it’s too far away and they get plenty of muscle just doing their jobs. Besides, shaving causes tiny cuts in the skin leaving the hero open for infection… any nurse or doctor would agree…
Yep. I’m old school. Grew up in the 1960s and 1970s. I read books sometimes based on the cover model alone.
For some reason the hero of the story doesn’t always match the cover. The book is usually better.
I love big burly bearded buff heroes with muscle on top of muscles and hairy chests and hairy abs and happy trails, guys that grunt and growl and scowl and love their curvy girls to distraction.
And if there’s a cowboy hat it should be a REAL cowboy’s hat made of tight weave straw for warm climate but for cold climate should be 6X to 10X beaver fur.
Both types of real cowboy hats used for cover should be made by Stetson or Resistol or Bailey or Ariat or somebody that knows what a real cowboy hat is.. they really don’t know in NYC, JUST SAYIN’

Sassy Reid is a hard-working daughter to a rancher that is struggling to keep financially afloat. She’s too prideful to ask for help and decides to sign-up to sell her virginity to the highest bidder. Cole Rogers is a billionaire ranch owner that has always had his eye on Sassy but refrained from pursuing her romantically. He has always been protective and possessive of Sassy, but he’s too much of a gentleman to cross the line and act on his desires. That is, until he realizes Sassy is in more financial trouble than anyone realized and she is about to sell her body. He may feel as though he doesn’t deserve Sassy, but he’s going to make sure no other man is going to lay claim to his girl.
Cole was such a charming good guy that definitely battled between acting on his desires and shutting them down. It took him quite a while to stop being the perfect gentleman and make Sassy his in every single way. I actually felt sorry for Sassy because it was terribly confusing for her to be married to Cole, but he still just acted like her friend. I was cheering when Cole finally decided enough was enough and he wasn’t going to let anyone, including himself, stop him from finally getting his prize. This was a slower burn so the steam was at the second half of the book and it was *chefs kiss* so good!

Right from the start there is so much to love about this book!! Cole is OTT and possessive of the young Sassy. She’s all he’s been able to think about since she turned 18 but he keeps his distance because he thinks he’s too old and grumpy for her. Sassy has been in love with Cole for years and has been saving herself for him. The tension between them was obvious from the beginning and continues to build the more time they spend together. These two were meant for each other and just needed to figure that out!!
When Sassy can’t find a way to make ends meet, and doesn’t want a hand out, she signs up to auction herself. Cole finds out and is determined to be the one to win her. The auction was funny because of his determination to be the winner. There’s also an added option to get married which added another layer to their complicated arrangement. Poor Cole can’t seem to convey to Sassy what winning her auction and marrying her means which leads to hurt feelings and misunderstandings. He tries his best though and always fixes what he messes up. You will LOVE Cole!! He’s a fantastic character and so taken with Sassy that he will make you swoon. I also really liked Sassy. She’s feisty, a hard worker, and humble. She doesn’t realize the catch that she is. Together Cole and Sassy make a beautiful couple!

When things come crashing down just wait to see what happens next

They live on neighboring ranches but their circumstances are very different. Cole is thirty-five years old and is a very successful rancher who is one of the richest men in the area. Sassy is twenty-one years old and is trying to hold together her father's family ranch, which is just hanging by a nail. So when Sassy needs money desperately to pay a loan her father took against the ranch her only choice is to sign on the dotted line, a contract for the Breeding Bidders Auction. But once Cole finds out just what she has done he is determined to not let it happen, or at least not let another man have her. Just wait to see what happens next as these two dance around their attraction for each other and the HEA they could have, if they just get out of their own way.
I really enjoyed this fast-paced, entertaining and exciting story. I always enjoy reading Hope Ford as she can spin a tale that is well written, has lovable characters that you would want as friends, and delivers a HEA with a lot of heat.

If you're after a short spicy novella for the Christmas period then this is for you.
Despite being short and having a fair bit of spice there's still plot which is rare for short spicy novellas.
Kayleigh's boyfriend or ex boyfriend has stolen all her money and left her in a situation where she can't afford her last semesters tuition and she has to get home for Christmas to see her sister. The only way she sees this going is if her ex's dad Elliot will repay the money or by signing herself up for the naughty list auction. After a visit to Elliot who's quick to slam the door in her face it becomes clear auction it is. S
Elliot is actually at the auction to help a friend bid on his girlfriend who's spitefully put herself on the block. Who should he see but the girl who's been driving him crazy for a year? The same girl he closed the door on. 100k later and Elliot's going home with Kayleigh. Only to discover they've been driving each other mad for the last year. They've got stuff to work through but can be have a happy ever after with his sons ex? Of course he can!.

When he tries to help her out he gets aware of what she is about to do to save the ranch. When he wins her at the auction and brings her back home, he wants her to chose him because of feelings, not obligations.
I love Hope Ford's stories, this one no difference. Sassy is such a strong and caring young woman who would do anything for her father. Sassy had been in love with their neighbor for years, but to her, Cole did not seem to notice her in that way what she did not know was he was in love with her too. Sassy's father was ill experiencing periods of memory loss. She was doing everything possible to save the ranch, but it was turning into a losing battle. She refused help from Cole so the only option left was to sell her virginity with a marriage option at a special auction. Cole was livid, when he discovered what she planned to do, but there was no changing her mind. These two were the most stubborn, strong willed, independent individuals to ever cross paths. When they spoke of their feelings with each other, it was like a guessing game. Cole was a gruff, grumpy man with it being a surprise anyone would work for him while Sassy was a tomboy able to do as much work as any man on a ranch. An exciting read with plenty of angst that has a sweet HEA ending.

Sassy Reid has been in love with Cole Rogers from the next-door ranch next door for as long as she can remember just for his hard work, heart and protectiveness towards her. But it seems as if all he can see when he looks at her is the tomboy working her Dad's ranch. When the ranch is in financial danger she signs up to sell the only thing she has of worth - her virginity via a one-of-a-kind auction house. Then at the auction, Cole is the winning bid and she finally gets the man of her dreams only for him to be too much of a gentleman to claim his prize. So now she needs to save him and get him to finally see her for what she is as they definitely belong together.
It was a nice light read we followed the story of Sassy trying to save her father's ranch while Cole was determined to have her for himself. I have no idea if he would have actually married her eventually or if the auction was a great way to escalate things to give him a push. Sassy lived up to her name and was certainly sassy in nature. Easy to read and understand. Contains mature content.

This book is a part of the Highest Bidder series and focuses on Cole and Sassy. Sassy’s family ranch has been struggling the last few years because of her dad's declining health and the lack of money needed to make necessary updates to the ranch. She has also been in love with her neighbor Cole for years but didn’t think she had a chance with him. Little did she know that he was just as in love with her but thought that he was too old for her. When he finds out what Sassy agreed to do to help save her ranch, he takes matters into his own hands and does everything he can to save her from making a mistake and to finally make her his once and for all. They had some bumps to work through before they got their HEA but they both wanted the exact same things in life so once they figured out what they each wanted they both went after it. This was a great story and a great addition to the series!.

I received an ARC from the author and am voluntarily leaving my review. I liked this story and the continuation of Coco's auctions. She doesn't play as much of a role in this one which didn't hurt the story. This is a short romance but it is full of emotions, struggles, doubts, miscommunication, acceptance, attraction and love. Sassy has the world on her shoulders right now and Cole is doing what he feels he can to help. These two fight their attraction but their lack of understanding and communication brings more complications to the growing relationship. After the auction, sorting it all out and being open are their biggest obstacles. I liked both Cole and Sassy and thought they were great together. Once Cole opened up, things change for them quickly. It was a steamy and sweet romance with plenty of conflict

I loved Auctioned to the Cowboy: Book 5 of Highest Bidder. Sassy will do anything to save her family’s farm, even auction off her virginity. When Cole finds out he demands she stop but she can’t and so he’s determined to win her. After Cole wins Sassy he doesn’t think he just heads straight for the marriage tent and they say I do. Sassy is so confused as to why Cole married her when he seems to be avoiding her. Can she show him she has always loved him and hoped they would have a future together. Such a sweet storyline and lovable characters. I loved this book and would definitely recommend it and the whole series.

Now the only thing he can do is save Sassy from her harebrained idea. A sweet tender story with two characters you fall in live with. Sassy wants to make it on her own and won’t take pity. This is a sweet romance with great characters who have a strong attraction to each other. Sassy has been taking care of her family's ranch with very little help once her father's health stopped him from working his ranch. Cole, who has a nearby ranch, has helped by sending his men on occasion to help out with repairs. Both Sassy and Cole have loved each other for years but never did anything about it. Once Cole found out she was going to sell her virginity at an auction, Cole made sure he was invited to the auction and he made sure he was going to bid on Sassy and do whatever it takes for him to win. Sassy would get an extremely large sum from the auction to help with her farm. They finally admit they love each other and have a happily ever after

I tried, but I just can't muster up enough interest to finish this, despite it being a pretty short novella. Cole and Sassy are neighbors; he's 34/35 and she's 22. He's been in love with her for two years, but never tried anything because of the age difference. When he finds out she's going to auction off her virginity to raise money to save her ranch, he buys her. (For six million dollars 🙄...there aren't enough eyeroll emojis in the world for this one)
This is probably the least sexy of all the auction virginity books I've ever read. There's no chemistry between these two. Even when Cole buys her, it feels more platonic than romantic. Steam level is low, and I'm just over it.

Super cute story! 🥰
I was a little unsure when I started the book but my worries were misplaced. The story was adorable and whilst there was some angst with Sassy’s struggles and the back & forth with Cole, the ending made it worth it. I do have one question though… what about a ring??? It’s a quick, cute story and I recommend it!

They are at a standoff until Cole sees that she is going to auction off her virginity… He has to stop her! This is a unique, funny, drama filled, clumsy love story. I thoroughly enjoyed the personalities of the characters and how the story developed and continued to evolve. I really enjoyed the book.
