First of all, I want to say - if you read the German publication of this manga, please don't dismiss it because of the weird title, like I almost have. One problem that I have with German BL-manga releases is, that some titles sound straight-up embarrassing. Which doesn't help with choosing what I might like or not when it's already hard to judge a one-shot from the outside. However, not only one but two friends recommended this manga to me and said it's cute and since I already read another manga from this author, I decided to give it a try. And I wasn't disappointed, so thank you once again to my friends for this recommendation.

SPOILERS ahead - read with caution!

Actually, not only the title but also the premise of a relationship between a teacher and a student was what put me off at first, as I am usually not really into these kinds of things. However, there are a few things to note here:

First of all, the student (Haruma) isn't in the teacher's class at school, they just happen to attend/work at the same school. They do not get to know each other at school but under different circumstances, which are kinda cute. The student is 18 years old and attending the last year of High School, while the teacher (Ken) is 22 years old, so the age difference isn't such a big deal. At the end of the story, Haruma is talking about how he got accepted to university.

Another issue that people could have with the story is, that Haruma is using blackmailing tactics against Ken, to make him his "dog". He promises, to keep Ken's obsession with a male idol band (especially one of their members - Atsuto) a secret from everyone at school if Ken does as he asks him to. In the end, Haruma's requests aren't that bad, though, as it turns out he simply needs someone to spend time with, talk to, eat together, and the like. Rather than an owner-pet relationship, we can witness a weird but cute friendship (developing into more, later on) blooming between the two characters, spiced with a little teasing and some jealousy, but nothing too bad in this department, thankfully. And that is, what I really appreciated here. While this could have ended very kinky, it didn't. They start off on awkward feet, but they keep walking towards a relationship that gets strengthened along the way through mutual respect and trust and in the end even lead to Haruma fixing some broken family boundaries.

All in all, the characters are really lovable once you get to know them. The story is easy to follow but not boring, and the drawings are very nice to look at. I will definitely check out more works of Kurahashi Tomo in the future, now that I already read and enjoyed two of them.

There's just one request I have to German manga publishers, especially BL mangas - please consider to not use such embarrassing titles for your publications. I mean yeah, maybe that's just me, but I literally walked past this manga at least 3-4 times in the store, too turned off by the title to pick it up and check it out because I thought "Ah, that sounds perverted, not sure if I am into that" - because believe it, or not, not all BL-fans are into the straight-up hard yaoi-porn-type of things, there are also BL-fans who prefer cute titles with a cute storyline and relatable characters and especially when it comes to one-shots, those can be hard to find. The original title of this manga is "Pink to Mabeshiba" - wouldn't it have been possible to keep a title closer to the original one?

Sorry for this little rant at the end of this review, as I said in the beginning, please don't be scared away by the title of this manga. It really is a very cute story with interesting characters and a nice setting! I really enjoyed it!

This coupling kind of reminds me of the couple in Sick, but in a different situation? Shiba was really cute. Little otaku dork. Loved him. They were a sweet couple. Tomo Kurahashi is all about the fluff. This was a little predictable, but I mean when you read enough everything starts to be. It was a fun read though and I'm excited to read the spin off.

Reread this because I was rereading Hello Morning Star since the second one now has a translation on mangaplaza. I don't know why I rated this so highly before. I really dislike student-teacher romances (although this wasn't the worst one since Haruma is 18 and Shiba is not his actual teacher) and I hate the blackmail element. Shiba is really cute, but I really don't like Haruma and the way he treats him. Plus the bonus chapter? Horrible. I think there was a way that this could've been executed that I could've liked, but idk it just was not for me. I don't think it's the worst I've ever read so I'm leaving it at a three, but it's a low three lol.

Von dem Titel darf man sich wirklich nicht abschrecken lassen, ich nehme es mehr mit Humor.
Den der Manga hat eine so süße Geschichte, voller Liebe, Mut und Selbstwert.

Der Zeichenstil ist richtig schön, sehr gefühlvoll und detailiert.
Allzu pikante Szenen werden quasi kaschiert, bzw. zensiert.

Die Geschichte dreht sich um einen etwas schüchternen Lehrer Ken, der ein rießiger Boyband fan ist.
Das ist wirklich süß dargestellt, wie er die Band feiert und was sie ihm alles zurück gibt.
Das hat mir so gut gefallen und jeder der eine Band abgöttisch liebt wird sich damit wenigstens etwas identifizieren können.

Die Geschichte ist sehr süß und witzig.

Ken ist teilweise sehr naiv und verhält sich eher wie der jüngere der beiden.
Doch die Dynamik von Ken und Haruma ist spannend.
Wie die Beziehung entsteht und sich weiterentwickelt, ist sehr authentisch und spannend beschrieben.
Auch Haruma finde ich wirklich vielseitig dargestellt und die Beziehung mit seinem Bruder ist sehr interessant und auch etwas tiefergehend.


Ein toller, witziger One-Shot für Zwischendurch.
Ein Einzelband der alles hat was das Mangaherz begehrt, Witz, Romantik, Liebe und ein wundervoller Artstyle.
Einfach zum abschalten und lachen.

Ho comprato alle solite il volume a scatola chiusa, approfittando del bundle da 14 euro con incluso Hello Morning Star 1. Non avevo aspettative e alla fine il risultato è stato noioso e scontato... come sempre. La storia è quanto di più classico e noiosetto ci potremmo aspettare da uno yaoi. La solita dinamica del ricatto con il personaggio più debole ricattato dal bullettino che poi... cade tra le sue braccia perché in realtà è buono e gentile e ha i traumi XD
Il solito e noioso cliché che ha portato alla creazione di storie etero e non più o meno famose.
Mikoshiba è un professore molto giovane, di appena 22 anni, che ha la passione per gli idol in particolare per Atsuto, il frontman degli L.PLANET, una band super famosa e fighetta (degli One Direction XD). Il prof ama alla follia il gruppo al punto da aver creato un "santuario" da otaku con tanto di foto, cd, poster e chi più ne ha più ne metta. Un giorno però viene notato dal commesso del negozio in cui si reca a fare acquisti che.... rullo di tamburo... è anche un suo studente. Un ragazzo che decide tranquillamente di ricattare il professore dicendogli "Se non vuoi che dica a tutti che sei un otaku (uuuu che cosa brutta!!!) diventa il mio cane!"
Vi ricorda qualcosa? Wolf Girl & The Black Prince forse?
Mah,.. il prof potrebbe fare qualsiasi cosa... mandarlo al diavolo magari? Dirgli "Ehm... che male c'è ad avere una passione? Sono maggiorenne e libero di buttare i miei soldi e segarmi su un tipo famoso?" Potrebbe fare la persona matura? Si. Lo fa? No. Alle solite si crea il rapporto di vittima/carnefice con la solita scena dub con dello stronzetto che masturba a forza il povero verginello di turno. Hanno stufato queste scene moleste? Si! Trovo giusto che ogni volta ci sia un personaggio che sente il bisogno di toccare senza il suo consenso l'uke di turno e farlo sentire come una merda? Ovviamente si!
La storia è... così. Ovviamente il tipo ha il motivo segreto per comportarsi da stronzo motivo che è.. palese... visto che è praticamente UGUALE al cantante famoso... il tipo si comporta da stronzo dopo aver visto che il prof è fan del cantante. Assomiglia al cantante. Prova odio e rancore per il cantante. Non sarà mai che il tipo è PARENTE del cantante? MA OVVIO! Abbiamo cliché più banali? No... bene.
La storia d'amore è nulla. Il prof non ha motivo di provare amore per lo studente stronzetto e lo studente stronzetto non ha motivo di amare il prof vergine... se non per scoparsi un fan del fratello e ridacchiare diabolicamente nella sua bat-caverna. Non ci sono interazioni dolcette e degne di nota. Ken è il povero ex hikikomori di turno che potrebbe innamorarsi di una pianta grassa se solo avesse un sorriso dolcetto e lo studente... è così anonimo che mi sono già dimenticata il suo nome XD e questa la dice lunga su quanto mi sia innamorata di lui. Unica cosa positiva... i disegni. Davvero ben fatti oltre questo.. nulla. Spero con tutto il cuore di trovare più interessante il suo sequel e che almeno in quello ci sia la possibilità di rincontrare i due protagonisti e poterli apprezzare un po' di più. Sinceramente... non mi sento di consigliarlo. La trovo una perdita di soldi e di energie essendoci manga molto più interessanti in circolazione.

Un manga leggero e con poche pretese. Bei disegni ma la risoluzione del conflitto del nostro Haruma sinceramente è troppo veloce.
Probabilmente è dovuto al fatto che la storia doveva essere breve ma secondo me l'autrice avrebbe potuto osare di più ma è bello che comunque il tipo (il nostro co-protagonista) è rimasto nella zona legale xD (nessun "cagnolino" è stato maltrattato).

Adesso sono davvero curiosa di sapere se si vedono anche in Hello Morning Star 🫢

Ken Mikoshiba è un giovane insegnante part-time volenteroso anche se imbranato. Nasconde gelosamente un segreto: è un grandissimo fan degli L. Planet, una boy band maschile scoperta grazie alla sorella maggiore. Prova un’adorazione in particolare per il leader della band, Atsuto, e non si perde un loro cd, dvd, concerto dal vivo o in streaming. Un giorno però viene scoperto da uno studente della sua scuola, Haruma Kurokawa, che lavora part-time nella catena di negozi dove Ken va a pre-ordinare i suoi cd, gadget inclusi. Haruma lo ricatta e Ken deve diventare il suo cagnolino per far sì che a scuola non si sappia della passione che gli ha cambiato la vita. Nel mentre si avvicina a Haruma scoprendo i suoi tormenti che si collegano alla sua famiglia e al mondo degli idol.

Questa è la trama di Pink & Mameshiba, un volume unico e alquanto classico nonostante trovo che gli elementi sul mondo idol gli diano un tocco di novità. Devo ammettere che io sono una grande fan di anime e manga che mettono al centro gli idol, un mondo affascinante tipico dell’intrattenimento nipponico e dell’estremo oriente. In esso si trova un mix di duro lavoro per la perfezione, passione per la musica, talento e fortuna forse alle volte idealizzato dalla fiction ma non esime da critiche e situazioni che mostrano difficoltà e problemi di questa industria.

E non dimentichiamoci il mondo parallelo delle fan e dei fan dei gruppi idol maschili e femminili. Otaku nel senso ampio del termine disposti a tutto per il loro beniamino, in una maniera da un lato comprensibile visto che noi tutti siamo fan che fanno anche piccole e grandi follie. Dall’altra si trovano episodi esagerati, in termini di risorse ma anche episodi di stalking verso idol e persone famose. Per uno sguardo allegro ma realistico della situazione consiglio la visione di Oshibudo – Se la mia idol preferita arrivasse al Budokan morirei, disponibile sul canale YouTube di Yamato Video.

Ci sarebbe da tanto da dire e da discutere ma credo sia importante capire questo mondo, capire le dinamiche attorno ad esso e non avere pregiudizi nel suo approccio. Ken teme i pregiudizi, perché è un ragazzo che adora idol maschi, avrebbe ancora più difficoltà di una ragazza o donna a giustificare la sua passione. Per spiegarla dovrebbe fare riferimento ad un brutto periodo della sua vita e alla gioia e felicità che gli ha trasmesso la musica dei L. Planet. Ed ecco la sua paura e il cedere quindi ai ricatti di Haruma, il secondo protagonista di Pink & Mameshiba.

Il ragazzo è un bad boy, si prende gioco del povero Ken e anche della sua passione. Ma l’astio che pare provare per gli idol si collega al suo passato e alla sua famiglia. In tal modo scopriremo il suo legame proprio con Atsuto, l’idol amato dal suo professore. Dovrà quindi fare pace con se stesso prima di potersi dedicare anche a Ken, per il quale inizia a provare dei sentimenti. E anche il professore inizierà a provare qualcosa per il ragazzo, vuoi per la sua malizia che lo stuzzica anche sessualmente, ma anche per voler toglierlo dalla solitudine che vive dietro la facciata di duro.

In tal senso la storia di Pink & Mameshiba è classica nel suo sviluppo, con una sorpresa nella seconda metà del volume anche se facilmente intuibile. Atsuto entra nella storia portando chiarezza e confusione allo stesso tempo, avviandoci verso la conclusione della vicenda. Il finale risulta simpatico e divertente nello stile generale della storia, con i personaggi in stile chibi e battute su Ken cagnolino metaforico e non. Certo, è un finale veloce che lascia spazio ad altro ma non è questo che troviamo in Hello Morning Star…

Primo volume di una serie di due, si concentra su Atsuto nei primi anni del suo debutto con gli L. Planet. Ambientato temporalmente prima di Pink & Mameshiba, ci mostra la sua carriera in ascesa a scapito di un suo amico durante il training prima del debutto musicale, ossia Yuki della band “rivale” Real. I due si sono allontanati a seguito del successo di Atsuto, quando Yuki era considerato il più talentuoso del corso. Da allora il loro rapporto si è raffreddato, ma la loro agenzia li riunisce per lavorare ad un film insieme. Un nuovo progetto che li avvicinerà e costringerà a spiegare e raccontare cosa provano uno per l’altro.

Questa volta il focus passa in maniera diretta al mondo idol parlando della loro difficile carriera partendo dalla loro preparazione. In Giappone come in Corea, esistono vere e proprie scuole, spesso collegate ad agenzie di spettacolo che preparano gli aspiranti idol nel ballo, canto, recitazione. Scuole che decidono loro chi far debuttare, formano i gruppi e creano direttamente e indirettamente anche rivalità tra gli idol. E questo è quello che succede in Hello Morning Star, con Atsuto che debuttando prima di Yuki ha creato tensione tra i due. Non si odiano ma i rapporti sono scostanti dopo che prima erano molto amici e forse qualcosa in più… Grazie al nuovo progetto al quale partecipano entrambi si troveranno a riallacciare i rapporti, ammettere i propri errori e paure, tornando ad essere quelli che erano prima.

Nel mezzo il loro lavoro di idol, difficile ma pieno di impegno e passione, anche a scapito della loro salute. Ma entrambi hanno il supporto dell’altro e quello dei membri dei loro due gruppi, non troppo esplorati ma ben presentati. Il focus rimane sui due protagonisti e sul mondo idol che li allontanati e ora li riavvicina. Confrontandosi possono ora trovare il tempo per loro stessi e per i loro sentimenti rimasti assopiti per anni e che ora possono esprimere e amarsi. E ritrovare quella sintonia che avevano durante il loro addestramento.

Un bel volume che si legge anche senza conoscere la storia di Pink & Mameshiba per quanto ci siano dei riferimenti alla famiglia di Atsuto e al suo fratellino. In un certo senso risulta conclusivo di per sé, ma avendo un secondo volume c’è anche da chiedersi se temporalmente raggiungeremo il volume principale unendo questi due mondi. Sarebbe carino dare un piccolo spazio ai due gruppi Real e L. Planet e mostrare il rapporto di Atsuto e Yuki diventare più forte e i due essere una coppia vera e propria che sappia coniugare il loro che li appassiona e la loro vita privata. Che forse si arrivi anche a parlare dello shipping convulsivo di alcune fan tra membri dello stesso gruppo o no? Indubbiamente sono rimasta curiosa di vedere cosa ci racconterà il secondo volume di Hello Morning Star.

Per chiudere credo che entrambi i volumi siano molto belli e interessanti. Lo stile della Kurahashi è molto bello e pulito. Riesce ad emozionare nel modo in cui racconta il mondo idol sotto diversi aspetti, senza tralasciare il lato più romantico e anche sessuale, ma senza essere troppo esplicita e prepotente. Le due storie sono piacevoli: Pink & Mameshiba è più divertente e spensierato, mentre Hello Morning Star a tratti più tragico e serio ma mai drammatico, in un equilibrio che rende entrambe leggere e avvincenti. Ovviamente per seguire anche l’intento dell’autrice è consigliato leggere prima Pink & Mameshiba poi Hello Morning Star. Inoltre quest’ultimo presenta un secondo volume diventato disponibile da poco.

Le due storie sono intrecciate ma allo stesso tempo non si presuppone la lettura dell’uno o dell’altro per poter essere apprezzato. Bello il fatto che Planet Manga ha presentato i due volumi anche in un pack che li raccoglie insieme ad una cartolina omaggio. Diventa quindi naturale immergersi in entrambe le storie e immergersi nel mondo degli idol e dei loro fan. Le loro vicende dietro al glamour dello spettacolo sono comuni e molto relazionabili. Sono due volumi che sapranno appassionare i fan dei BL, ma anche degli idol e ci lascia la curiosità di leggere altro dell’autrice.

Ken is a harcore otaku of a boy-band. The clerk at the music store knows about this, but only once Ken finds out that the clerk is actually his student he becomes kinda afraid his secret is going to revealed to everyone that he begs him to please not tell anyone. The student agrees but in exchange of Ken being his "dog". Ken doesn't become his dog, but the student sticks to him like glue. But seems like the student doesn't like Ken's idol, why is that? The art is lovely and the story was cute and funny.

Je remercie les éditions Taifu comics pour cette lecture. Un petit yaoi, ça faisait un peu longtemps à mon goût que je n’en avais pas lu. Celui-ci est sympathique. Il est basique de par les bases (quelqu’un de plus ou moins tyrannique, qui va faire du chantage à quelqu’un et lui demande en échange de son silence de devenir son esclave ou son chien), pourtant, j’ai quand même beaucoup apprécié ma lecture.

Ken est un jeune homme de 22 ans. Il est professeur à temps partiel, mais surtout il a une passion, qu’il cache à tout le monde sauf sa sœur. Il est fan d’idol et d’un en particulier qui est dans le groupe L. Planet.

Mais en allant précommander un des derniers albums du groupe, il va tomber sur un vendeur qui lui dit vaguement quelque chose, mais il n’y fait pas forcément attention. Pourtant, le lendemain en allant au lycée, il se rend compte que ce vendeur, est un lycéen, là où il enseigne !

Il ne veut pas que ça se sache, il n’a pas envie qu’on se moque de lui ou de sa passion. Il sait que les gens ne sont pas tendres parfois. L’élève en question, qui s’appelle Kurokawa accepte. Mais à une condition. Il sera son chien !

À partir de là, il n’a d’autre choix que d’obéir à cet élève qui a l’air d’un monstre au premier abord. Alors, oui, l’histoire est basique, surtout le commencement. Dans les yaoi on en a vu pas mal de ce genre de scénario. Pour autant, cela marche toujours autant avec moi.

En effet, je me suis laissée porter par cette mignonne histoire et je l’ai regardé évolué au fil des pages. J’aimais suivre le personnage de Ken, mais également celui de Kurokawa qui est beaucoup plus touchant qu’on ne pourrait le croire.

En bref, c’est un yaoi qui commence de façon classique, mais qui reste bon dans le fond. L’histoire est douce, les personnages sont attachants, que demander de plus ? Je me suis laissée porter par la relation de Ken et Kurokawa. Une jolie histoire d’amour. Si tu es fan de yaoi et que le résumé te tente, n’hésite pas une seconde, lis-le. C’est une histoire qui te rendra toute chose ! 🙂

Ken Mameshiba es un profesor interino de 22 años que adora a los grupos de idols masculinos, sobre todo a LP, que los conoció gracias a su hermana en un momento delicado de su vida y que, con sus canciones, se ha convertido en la persona que es ahora. Como todo buen fan de LP (pues al estilo total de una/un Army) Mameshiba compra todo lo que sacan sus idols y hace las reservas en tienda para conseguir todos los extras. En esas que está haciendo una reserva, el dependiente que lo atiende es un chico muy llamativo con el pelo rosa y que lleva el rostro oculto con una mascarilla. La casualidad hace que, en el tren, Ken vea a ese mismo chico vistiendo el uniforme del instituto donde está trabajando. Buscando que Kurokawa no divulgue su secreto por el insti, Ken le pide al chaval que guarde silencio sobre su predilección por los idols, pero Kurokawa no piensa hacerlo gratis. Quiere que a cambio Ken sea su perrito.

Cediendo a ese chantaje, "Shiba" comenzará a intimar con Kurokawa, un chico bastante conflictivo en el sentido de que no asiste a clases y pasa de todo. A pesar de que es muy popular y que siempre está rodeado de gente, Ken se da cuenta de la soledad que rodea al muchacho, y a pesar de que su relación no empieza con buen pie ya no puede dejar de pensar en Kurokawa ni dejarlo solo.

Creo que al haber tenido muy buenas experiencias leyendo otras historias de Kurahashi mis expectativas fueron demasiado altas, por lo que esta historia no alcanzó a cumplir ni la mitad de lo que esperaba.

Mientras leía el manga me di cuenta de que era bastante predecible en un muy mal sentido, ya que casi desde el primer capítulo sabes cuál va a ser el "momento impresionante" de la historia.

Algo también me molestó fue que en pocas palabras la relación se basó en un instalove, ya que no hubo motivos reales para que la relación se diera, además de que el chico menor era insufrible la mayor parte del tiempo.

Creo que podría decir que le dí esa calificación al manga porque el arte es muy lindo, porque la premisa era buena y porque me sentiría mal de ponerle una menor puntuación a Kurahashi.

Está muy chulo, pero no tiene nada que ver con lo que dice en la sinopsis. Lo de que es su perro no tiene ninguna importancia, lo dicen dos veces pero no actúan al respecto ni le pone un collar ni nah. #decepcion

Y me da rabia porque la historia es chulisima. Es un profe de 22 años que adora a los grupos de idols masculinos, y siempre va a su tienda de confianza a comprar las nuevas ediciones y los extras de los discos y canciones, y ahí trabaja un chico que ahora es su alumno. Con el pretexto de que sabe su hobby secreto, le dice que sea su perro. Y a partir de ahí empiezan a hablar en el instituto y a quedar fuera de él.

Me ha encantado que Harukawa fuera el hermano pequeño del idol que le gustaba a Shiba. Me ha parecido súper adorable cómo se ponía celoso porque pensaba que le gustaba más su hermano.

Son monos, pero me esperaba otra cosa.

oy vengo con un nuevo manga BL muy divertido y al mismo tiempo tierno. "Pink y Mameshiba"
Un alumno descubre que uno de sus profesores de preparatoria es fan de un grupo de pop. Pero a niveles de ser del fandom y tener su casa repleta de merchan. Así que le hace chantaje para que la preparatoria no descubran su secreto. Pero detrás de todo este chantaje hay una historia un tanto triste. Y es que nos hablan de las familias de idols y de esas personas que no han podido cumplir su sueño de ser cantante o bailarín.
La historia me ha gustado mucho, sobre todo esa historia que hay detrás del personaje de Pink. Y claro, me he sentido identificada con el profe porque soy fan del kpop. Y aunque no estoy a los niveles del protagonista, me ha hecho gracia como siente la música y todo lo que rodea a este mundo.

I never thought I would like Idol obsession in a manga, but this turned out really good.
I also liked the character designs more than in 'Sick' the first manga I read by this mangaka. It also flowed a lot better in my opinion.
The only real downside for me was the relationship development. I liked the end game of it all, but we didn't get to see any of the 'blackmail' (I don't know what else to call it) which is where it kind of starts.

Story ist an sich recht schön, aber manchmal geht mir Wuffi ein wenig auf den Senkel. Gut, das alles ist neu für ihn, aber er sollte sich doch daran erinnern, dass er der ältere ist. Die Dynamik zwischen ihm und Haruma ist allerdings sehr interessant und macht neugierig, wie es zwischen den beiden weitergeht innerhalb der Story.

Main character is a teacher and a secret a fanboy. So the meet one of his students in a music shop and know this guy ask him to be his dog/do whatever he ask while he keep his secret.

I don't like the start of the relationship because is clearly abusive :(
After the first encounter I feel they start being more time together and know each other better and the relationship grew better.

Ha ido de peor a mejor sin duda, pero tampoco me ha encantado. Me lo esperaba mucho mejor debido a la portada, y el estilo de dibujo no es lo que me ha decepcionado, sino la trama... No se me hizo demasiado interesante, personalmente. Aún así algunas escenas si me gustaron, como la de el concierto, al final.

I feel like I've lost count of how many times I've reread this story! I adore Kurahashi's work and need to add more to my little home collection

In this story, we follow the relationship between Kurokawa and a part-time teacher named Mikoshiba (dubbed Shiba-chan by Kurokawa). One day while riding the train, Mikoshiba realizes that Kurokawa is the same guy who works at the music shop where he buys all his idol albums from. They both get off at the closest stop and Mikoshiba asks Kuorkawa to keep his idol otaku tendencies a secret, but Kurokawa only agrees if Mikoshiba becomes his dog (hence Shiba-chan). I know, it sounds bad (when is yaoi not bad) and there's something else that happens later (...), but overall I felt it was a really cute read (maybe the art has hypnotized me)
