He’s my ex’s best friend. The man I love to hate. A total temptation who is totally off-limits.
And he’s everywhere I turn.
My life’s a disaster. My ex-boyfriend is getting married, my house is falling apart, and I haven’t slept with anyone in… Well, long enough that I’m not sure I remember where everything is supposed to go.
The last person I’d ever ask for help is my childhood enemy, Logan Reeve. He’s smug. He’s infuriating. He’s gorgeous. And lately, he’s caught me in one too many weak moments. A cocky carpenter who knows how to work a sledgehammer, Logan promises he can renovate my house before my parents sell it out from under me.
I can’t deny it. Logan’s got the skills I need to turn things around—in life and in the bedroom.
I’m craving some old-fashioned action, and Logan is always—irritatingly—there. As the tension takes us dangerously close to a line we shouldn’t cross, we find ourselves flirting with forbidden territory. Flirting, flirting… until finally, we fall.
Why does it feel so good when it’s so, so bad?
It won’t last. Nobody can ever know. There’s nothing real between us, right? Logan Reeve was never meant for me.
But one thing I know for sure. The man I can’t have loves nothing more than proving me wrong.
Meant For You is a first-person, dual POV contemporary romance with lots of steam and a satisfying happily ever after.
Samantha Leigh is the author of hot and heartfelt small town romance. Her heroes are dirty but her heroines like it that way, and they always get their happily-ever-afters.
Sam lives in Sydney, Australia, with her book boyfriend husband and their two soccer-obsessed kids.
Do I hate the miscommunication trope? Yes, I do. Did I care that this had it? No, I did not!
There were so many precious things this book that made up for it. Like the build in tension, the hate to lovers, the ‘it’s always been you,’ the love on a timeline, the plot anf pace, the fact that I related to both the mmc & the fmc! I knew I was gonna love it from the snippets we saw in book one and I’m glad to say I was right. Very excited to know more about Isaac as well as Abbie & Will :))
Book 2 in the valentine bay series and we got a small snippet of what to expect in book 2 and can I say IT. DID. NOT. DISAPPOINT 🙌
Jess is dealing with her ex married the girl he found after leaving their small town when she decided to stay. We get a bit of a background of the their story in book 1 but now we see the part where it’s time she moves on as it’s been 3 years since they were together and although maybe she was waiting or hoping he would come back to her, he didn’t. She is also dealing with her mum pushing her to do things she doesn’t want to do and a home that is in need of renovation. And if that’s not all, her ex is getting married and the best man is the one she has always loved to hate Logan who has returned for 6 weeks in the lead up to the wedding and somehow becomes the person she leans on, the one who has always wanted her but couldn’t because she was his best friends girl.
If you love: Enemies to lovers Small town romance Second chance romance Forced proximity Opposites attract Character growth Then this is for you
This was book 2 in the Valentines Bay series…. And let me just say “wow!”
This book pulled me in right away with the characters, took a hold of my heart & gave it back with a piece missing!
Logan is the epitome of a truly wonderful and amazing man! The feelings he has of himself and the view as he sees himself, made me feel so connected to him. He is genuine, sexy amazing soul! I loved his character the absolute most!
And Jess, she is a smart teacher, who overthinks and always is looking to have her parents thoughts and approval in all aspects of her life. She always chooses the route she feels “smartest.” But as Logan and her are forced to be around each other, he helps her to see how amazing that she is and how independent she really can be.
I absolutely adore both characters! The buildup of the story was nothing short of perfect! The character development was spot on! I wouldn’t change a thing!

"Life isn’t about the landing. Life is about the fall."
Logan & Jess? PERFECTION! My god, these two together, it just works, and well at that. Bit of hate to love, second chance, forbidden love with a whole heaping of secret pining?! YES, YES and YES! Sign me up! Their connection was magnetic, and after so many years of lost love, they were finally able to settle and create this safe home for them both to share. The perfect wee steamy, small town romance book. LR + JF forever!
Logan Reeves. Well this man certainly knows what to do with his hands 😉🤭 He is the cocky carpenter, dirty talking surfer dude that will have you absolutely melting, sweating and just wishing you were Jess in this book. But under all of that, he has such insecurities where he doesn't think he is good enough for Jess. When really he is this perfect, sweet man that pays attention and boosts her up and makes her feel seen and safe. But my god, on top of him being just the most perfect man, he just had to level it up by being an absolute god in the bedroom. These men in these books are really something else.
Jessica Frost. The sweet, soft, wears her heart on the sleeve, anxious school teacher. But under all of that she wants to let loose and not feel so restrictive by just doing everything people around her tell her to do. I love her growth in this book. The way she stands up for herself and goes after what she has always wanted. Remodeling her house, chasing that fun and fulfilled life, building her home and safe space. I loved the way she came out of her shell and was feeling comfortable just being herself so much in this book. And she just grew and grew the more Logan supported her and was there for her.
I LOVE the found family in these books. The way the friend group they have is the most special and treasured thing to all of them is I think what makes these books shine. But on top of that, the community is also one big family. The way Jess's elderly neighbour, Dot, played such a big role in this book truly made me so happy. She always had the right thing to say and was the biggest support and comfort for Jess when she needed it.
Sam's writing leveled up in this one and honestly I enjoyed every moment of this book. I am completely obsessed with Logan & Jess and can't wait to see more of them in the next two books. This was absolutely an easy 5 ⭐️ read. Bring on book 3 & 4. I am so ready to dive back into more of Valentine Bay.
4,5⭐️ I loved this book! I’m going to read the rest of the series for sure.
“Meant For You” is the second book in the Valentine Bay series but can be read as a standalone. This is the first book I’ve read of the series and I had no problem following the story, but of course you get spoilers of the first book of the series’ couple.
I really liked Jessica especially because she was relatable. The author did a great job portraying her struggles and doubts. I also really enjoyed reading about her relationship with Dot, while hating Jess’ parents, especially her mother ,Sandra, who was really awful.
However, Logan was the one who stole my heart. I’ve never thought carpentering could be so hot, but it is. He was a sweetheart and I loved how the author described his insecurities and sense of guilt caused by his low self-esteem and constant comparison with his best friend, Luca. Leigh has written the different struggles of a group of friends in their late twenties in a very realistic and inspiring way. The struggles that sometimes are hard to admit but that everyone experiences at least once in their life.
Jess and Logan are really cute together, and even though I usually hate the miscommunication trope, in this book it just made sense so it didn’t bother me that much. The chemistry and tension between the protagonists were well written and fun to read. Also, the spice was really good!
I enjoyed this novel very much, I’m a sucker for the found family trope which is one of the main themes here. Jess and Logan’s friend group is amazing and I can’t wait to read about Will’s book.
Some quotes I liked:
“You take yourself out of the running because you think you’ll never win first place, but life is not a race, and it’s not about the destination.”
“Love is always a risk worth taking.”
"Detours and obstacles are evidence of a life well lived. Who wants to take a path where the finish line is in sight from the start? I'll take the curved road, thank you, the one where your next great adventure is always just around the next bend."
(English is not my first language but I’m trying to improve it also by writing reviews on here.🫶🏻)
Poor Jess! She just cannot catch a break. Her boyfriend chooses moving away over staying with her and then when he does come home it's with the "love of his life" and he brought her with him. So awkward for Jess since she has never moved on. Then to make matters worse the ex boyfriend has decided he is going to propose to his new girlfriend. Think that's all? Nah. Now that they're engaged the ex-boyfriends best friend is coming back to town for the wedding, a guy who has tortured her since they were kids. Could things get worse? Yep. Her HORRIBLE mother is trying to run her life again, wants her to sell the house she inherited from her grandmother. To be fair, Jess had grand plans for the house and after her ex moved away she didn't follow through with any of them. Now she has decided it's time, she is going to turn the house into what she wants and show her mom she can live her own life. Except she just might need the ex's best friend to help her and what could go wrong with that?
Logan was so patient with Jess and I really loved their story!
I loved everything about this book! After reading book 1 I was excited to learn we were getting Logan and Jess’ story. The angst of this sort of enemies to lovers story is perfect. The spice is on point. The message of this story that it’s about the journey and not the destination is one of my favorite mottos. All of the “wrong” turns and decisions aren’t wrong, they’re just like, and they brought us to where we’re supposed to be. The journey these two go on from all the way back in their childhood to the present is just full of butterflies, will they won’t they and it’s just so lovely.
Meant For You, the second in the Valentine Bay series, is a ex's best friend, enemies to lovers' romance.
Jess has only been in one serious relationship, and now he is home, freshly engaged, and still apart of her friend group. Jess always thought they would get back together after he came home so those closest to her are worried with how she is doing, including her ex. He asks his best friend, Logan, to make sure she is okay. Not only is Jess's love life in shambles, but her parents are also insisting she sell the home she inherited from her grandmother, because she has failed to fix it up.
Logan has always had feelings for Jess but made the choice to keep her at arm's length because she was with his best friend, which was easiest done by making sure he was constantly under her skin and eventually moving away. Now that he is back and keeping an eye on Jess for his ex, he offers to help fix up her house.
As much as Jess thinks she hates Logan, the more time they spend together, the more she realizes she may not hate him like she thought. These two are perfect are one another! The banter between them was fun and they had so much chemistry.
I have read the first 3 books at this point and this one is by far my favorite!
Ahhh! This was the first ARC I’ve ever received!! Very exciting 😊! Thank you @samanthaleigh.author 🫶🏽 This is book 2 in the Valentine Bay series (I started with this one because of the tropes!). “Meant For You” is an enemies to lovers & second chance romance. It explains the story of Jessice Frost and Logan Reeve, who shared a past. Sadly, they did not end up together because Jess begins dating Logan’s best friend.
Jess and her ex end up cutting ties, and her ex moves onto someone else… and they get married. Because of Jess and her exes old connection, she was invited to the wedding. Jess had been holding on, hoping her ex would come back to her - but he never did. Will Jess ever let her ex go?
Logan and Jess start working on a project together, which makes them realize they enjoy each others company. Will Logan go back to London, or will he stay to be with Jess?
The beginning of this book was definitely slow, but it picked up and definitely turned into a very steamy and sweet book 🩷
This follows Jess and Logan. Everything in my life isn’t going well from my ex-boyfriend getting married, a non-existent love life to difficult parents, a house that’s falling apart and the smug ex-boyfriend’s best friend Logan Revees. Logan has always been trouble and infuriatingly handsome. As he is a carpenter he decides to help Jess renovate her house. Can they resist each other for long.
This was a great follow-up to the first book. I loved the tension between Jess and Logan. I’m just really loving the Valentine Bay characters and stories. Also, the spice was turned up a notch in this second book. So easy to read and makes you feel good. Also exciting that Samantha included me in the acknowledgment section! My heart is full.

It had some nice elements, but I didn't enjoy this book. It was a decent story until the bonus scene ruined things. I couldn't overlook multiple bad elements that left a sour taste in my mouth. Some include falling for your ex's bestie, too much PDA by the ex and his wife without trying to be empathetic towards Jessica, a matchmaking old neighbour, and babies before a wedding. It felt very cruel and uncalled for. Logan hid his divorce from everyone, including his parents, for two years. I disliked the bonus scene, which puts too much focus on a woman's worth depending on her reproductive ability. It's a well-written book, but the plot isn't the best. I'd have liked to see more fun banter, more of the yogini side character doing yoga, and more of Jess talking back to her controlling mother.
If you enjoy such forbidden things, you should try this book. Otherwise, I'll give it a pass.
I received an e-ARC from the author and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
Jess's ex is getting married. His best friend is back in town and she and Logan have an enemies vibe. And then there's the challenge from her horrible mother. Sigh. Things aren't going her way then she has to ask Logan for help with the house. But working in such close proximity brings out feelings neither had ever acted upon before. Things are about to combust in delicious ways.
I absolutely love Jess and Logan together! They start off as enemies but it was obvious from their first words with each other that there was a lot more going on there than contempt. Logan is just such a sweetheart, the kind of person who always puts his loved ones ahead of his own feelings, so swoony! And Jess, dang this woman is awesome. She grows so much, goes through so much and comes out of it stronger than ever. Their chemistry is smokin' hot, backed by an even stronger emotional bond. I haven't read the first Valentine Bay story, but after this, I'm definitely going back to read it, and will read any more that come along.

Wow. I can’t tell you how much this book blew me away. From the forbidden romance and enemies to lovers tropes to the heartfelt way things fell into place by the end of the book, I adored everything about this love story, and I was so deeply invested from beginning to end.
Thank you to Samantha Leigh for sending me this book and the first book in the series, Ready For You (Book #1 in the Valentine Bay series)! That being said, all opinions are my own!
Jessica Frost’s ex-boyfriend is getting married in a couple months, but that’s not the only thing that’s on her mind. Logan Reeve so happens to not only be her ex-boyfriend’s best man, but he’s also the bane of her existence. 😮 Constantly teasing every little thing about her and giving her trouble in his own irritatingly sexy way, Jessica is used to Logan’s usual antics. But for some reason, he’s acting differently, offering to help her with renovating her place, and being nice to her when she’s vulnerable. What the heck is this man’s deal? And why is Jessica starting to feel other things for him besides annoyance and hate? Does he feel it too?
Meant For You is definitely my favorite out of the series so far. The enemies to lovers fire burns brightly with every scene Logan and Jess interact in, and I LOVED every moment of it. Aside from the enemies to lovers bit, this was sort of second chance romance (but technically not), and that aspect of the story made it all the more captivating, leaving me hopeful that this may finally be their chance! And there is no way I would leave out the fact that the spicy scenes in this book are 😉👌🏼! We all love a man that knows how to work with his hands in more ways than one. 🤭
If you’re looking for a new spicy small-town romance series, I recommend Valentine Bay. I have fallen in love with all of the characters, and I can’t wait to find out what happens in the next book! 🤗 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5! I’m seriously addicted. 🩶
"Meant For You" is an enemies-to-lovers second chance romance with steamy tension and incredible banter. It's the second book in the Valentine Bay series, and it tells the story of Jess and Logan, who have a shared past. Due to a lack of communication and Jess dating Logan's best friend, their love is forbidden.
Jess is going through a tough time, dealing with the aftermath of her ex leaving when he decided to move away. Years later, he returns with a new girlfriend and plans to get engaged, leaving Jess devastated. She's trying to move on while also facing pressure from her parents to start dating again and renovate her falling-apart house. On top of it all, she has to deal with the return of Logan Reeves, her ex-boyfriend's best friend whom she despises.
Logan moved to London to escape the shadow of his best friend and the girl he always loved. He's a troubled man who has made mistakes and is now facing the consequences. Divorced and without a job, he returns to Valentine Bay, never expecting his feelings for Jess to resurface. He volunteers to help Jess with her house renovations, leading to forced proximity. Their interactions can only result in either hating each other or finally accepting the feelings they both have.
Logan and Jess both have insecurities that keep them apart and prevent them from being truly happy together. They each need to grow individually in order to be better together. After going through ups and downs, they finally make it. Their story is beautifully written, and you can feel their struggles and their desire to be together, even though they're scared to take the leap.
I enjoyed the storyline and the characters in this series, and I found this book to be even better than the first one. The story is unique and raw, and I highly recommend it.
5 ⭐ 4 ❤️🔥 Plot- or character-driven? A mix Strong character development? Yes Loveable characters? Yes Diverse cast of characters? No Flaws of characters a main focus? Yes
When your best friend is getting married you come back home to be their best man. Logan flies back to Valentine Bay from England to support his best friend, Luca, leading up to his nuptials. Logan figures he'll be in and out, it's only 3 weeks, and he'll be so busy he won't even have to think about the girl he ran away from. Jess, on the other hand, is trying her best not to look like a bitter-ex as she watches him marry his new girlfriend. Logan and Jess have been at each other's throats since they were teenagers and nothing seems to have changed in the years Logan has been away... Not even their true feelings.
While he's helping Jess to renovate her grandmother's home, Jess decides that Logan could also help her get out of her relationship rut. Watching Jess and Logan soften towards one another and let down their walls was so sweet but having them battle with their mutual feelings was so frustrating! I liked seeing their backstory and how their relationship had evolved over time. Jess and Logan both had so much growth throughout the course of the book as individuals and in their relationship and understanding of one another.
Of course I can't talk about this series without mentioning the side characters. Jess and Logan's friends are supportive and caring with the right amount of ribbing you'd expect from friends who've known each other forever. The VBFYRRBC ladies continue to be a delight with their meddling ways and I loved the behind-the-scenes peek to their matchmaking.
Looking forward to returning to Valentine Bay and seeing Isaac find love in Perfect For You 💕
Jess’s ex-boyfriend is getting married and her house is also falling down. To make matters worst Logan, her childhood enemy, man she loves to hate and a total temptation who is 100% off limits has returned to the bay after 4 years away. He’s the last person Jess wants to ask for help but she has time limit before her parents sell her house from underneath her and Logan has the skills.
Watching Jess find her inner strength and blossom was a joy to watch. I was so mad at the way her mum in particular treated her and I’m so glad that Logan was there to provided her with the safe space to grow.
Logan. Logan. Logan. Urgggh you furniture making, sledgehammer wheedling, slightly torture soul of a surfer. I loved his development over the course of this book and I fell more in love with him with each page.
The tension and spice between these two was top notch! Sam definitely turned up the heat in book two. I also loved reuniting with all the inhabitants of the bay. Dot is a legend as always and I adore the friendship between the girls (I’m down for bottomless margaritas any time)
I’m so glad that I got to return to Valentines Bay it was a joy that broke me and put me back together and I cannot wait for Isaac’s story. Thank you to Sam for the ARC copy and I feel honoured to be mentioned in your acknowledgment 🥹

‘“Kissing you means something,” “Then, now, and always.”’ - Logan.
Jess and Logan’s story is messy, complicated and filled with misunderstandings, heartache and self doubt. It’s completely addictive.
I absolutely love Jess. She’s fun, relatable and determined to prove everyone wrong, including herself.
My heart literally aches for Logan. He has always puts himself last when it came to his friends and his feelings. He only wants what’s best for everyone even if that means breaking his own heart.
I really enjoyed falling in love with both of these characters while they fell in love with each other. I really enjoyed the renovation journey too and how much Logan had impact on Jess. He really helped her believe in herself and in return, it helped him believe in himself.
Let’s not forget about Dot. I think she’s the best surrogate grandmother anyone could ask for. She’s helpful, loving, wise and so quirky. She’s a whole vibe.
I absolutely adore Samantha’s writing. It’s so easy to get completely lost in and it all flows beautifully. The character growth was there, the storyline is perfect and it was so good to see the other side characters again.
Honestly, you can not go wrong with a Samantha Leigh book.
‘Life isn’t about the landing. Life is about the fall.’ - Jess
5⭐|4🌶|3🥵 God, I thought book one was good, but book two is even better 🤩 I loved Logan. He is a perfect man. I can't say anything negative about him. And he thought his whole life he was a loser. No, he definitely isn't. He always has his friend's back. After 4 years he wasn't in Valentine Bay he is back for his best friend's wedding. Everyone is looking forward to him being back home, except for Jess. Logan and Jess are frenemies. And they bicker really good 🤣 Jess doesn't have an easy life. Sure she has a good job, she has her own house, she can save money... But one, her ex-boyfriend is the groom of this upcoming wedding, and two, her parents suck. Sorry, but no sorry they do. Nothing she does in her life is good enough for her parents, especially her mother. And Jess believes her 😞 She lost Luca because she never asked him to stay in Valentine Bay. She only found a job because her mother had relationships. And now she fails with her house... The tension between Logan and Jess is amazing. And so is the spice in this book 🥵 I love Mrs. March (Dot). I'm a little sucker for old wise ladies in books. And Dot is not only old and wise, she is funny and so cool 😁 I'm curious if we will ever know what VBFYRRRBC stands for... 🤔😎 I'm excited to read more about the guys and girls of Valentine Bay soon 🤩
𝐀𝐑𝐂 𝐑𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐞𝐰 Meant for you By Samantha Leigh Rating: ⭐ 5/5 Emotions: ❤️ 5/5 🌶️4/5
Logan and Jess’s story is based on misunderstandings, miscommunications and interference from others. They have known each other for almost forever, and at some point were secretly in love with each other. But never was the right time for them. So Logan left town years ago and started a new life far away in the UK. Jess had a yearlong relationship with Luca. But that didn’t work out and Jess is hurt, especially when Luca announces that he wants to marry his new girlfriend. So when Logan shows up back home for the wedding, everything gets out of hand. Logan never saw himself worthy enough for someone like Jess and didn’t think she ever saw more in him. Jess is caught in a life and routine that was mostly outlayed by her parents. And for a reason her mother tries to meddle in her life again. And in the weeks before the wedding Logan makes himself useful and that leads him to Jess in more ways, and slowly something unthinkable is suddenly not impossible. Everything could work out if they only would have a real talk, but that always seems not to be possible. And then Jess overhears something that breaks her heart and trust. And without willing to hear Logan out, he leaves town again. And the question is, was there ever something real between them?
This is book 2 of the Valentine bay series. This book was as addicting as the first , I could not put it down ! Logan and Jess have known one another forever, always at one another’s throats bickering. They haven’t seen one another in years, and now he’s back for his best friend’s wedding. His best friend who is also Jess’s ex. As she is remodeling her house, he offers to help her with the construction process, and they end up spending a lot of time together. Things between them get tricky when they realized they’ve harbored feelings for one another for years. Their chemistry is undeniable, and soon they can’t keep their hands off each other. I absolutely loved experiencing them fall for one another. Jessica hasn’t dated anyone in 3 years, and deserves to find her HEA, and never expects to find it with Logan. This book had fantastic character growth, together and individualy. The story flowed really well and kept me hooked until the final page. I love Valentine Bay and can’t wait for more stories with these characters. Samantha has definitely nailed the small town trope. The spice in this book was perfection, she really knows how to make you sweat! I absolutely recommend this series, it’s becoming so addicting! Bring on Isaac’s story! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I LOVEEE THIS BOOK! Truly, a great read from start to finish. I have rated the book 4 stars and broken down my review below:
⭐️ I just want to appreciate how they both pined for each other without realising. It felt messy at the start and that the world was against them BUT it all worked out in the end and it was SUCH a happy ending!
⭐️ I definitely warmed up to Jess’ character, I found her difficult to deal with at the start. I felt that she was slightly obsessive over Luca. However as the book went on, the more I loved her so I will overlook that initial dislike. I loved the way she realised she needed to do her own thing for once and not listen to the overbearing people in her life (pls her parents did my head in).
⭐️ Logan is a DREAM let me tell youuuu this man can do no wrong (apart from repeating the same mistake of speaking to Luca in a certain way). He was so patient and had the perfect balance between spicy and sweet. I really liked his character from the start and that did stay throughout the book.
⭐️ Overall, I think this book is the perfect book if you fancy reading a small town cute but spicy romance book! At times the book made me frustrated BUT it was written so well, highly recommend!
4.25⭐️2.75🌶️ I think we are all sleeping on Samantha Leigh! For real… I have read two of her books in a row and I’m seriously loving her work! So, without giving to much away, here we go…
Poor Jess! As we learned in the first book, her first love (Luca) left town and came back a few years later with a new love interest, who he intended to marry. Tash & Luca’s relationship really messed Jess up & she struggled with moving forward. As part of the wedding, the whole crew gets back together. Insert Logan - Hello Hottie McHottie!
Logan returns home after moving away to the UK where he got married. But what everyone doesn’t know is that he is now divorced… and why you ask? Because he never really loved he wife. He was always in love with Jess. And left town originally because she was with the perfect Luca.
During the wedding planning, Luca is worried about Jess. So, he asks Logan to pay a little attention to Jess. Think he is “really” going to turn that down? He may act like it. But nope… and over time, their relationship grows and strengthens. And boy oh boy, do things get hot! Like ”HOT”, hot!
We all know there is always some kind of drama. So, I won’t give it away. But I literally LOVED the resolved! And I adored the epilogue as well! SO… READ IT… just read it ♥️❤️
Samantha is really an amazing romance writer, I loved her first book “Ready For You” And now this one WON my HEART too. The story is too precious to forget and the characters superbly compliment the plot. I really applaud this close-knit friend group who are there for each other in every up-and-down scenario. One can always count on them. FABULOUS.
Jess and Logan are made for each other in many ways that they chose to not acknowledge for a long time. Their banter and not-so-subtle disliking for each other add to the intense relationship they develop. The story has so much PASSION and then some more. The spice and chemistry are highly flammable and when that gets too high they fire up like none other.
Jess had taken up a challenge from her overconfident mother who knows the best in her eyes whereas Jess feels so Under confident. I enjoyed the journey of her REBELLION and how well it all came out by the end. Love is never easy and the path of always difficult and the heartbreak that came with it was a little shattering but the way JESS took charge in her hands was WOW. I loved the ending and the entire story too.
I absolutely loved this and devoured it in just a few hours.
I’m a big sucker for small town romance connected standalone series, really enjoyed the first Valentine Bay book, and have been anxiously waiting to return since I first read it. I know Samantha is a fairly new author but I can’t wait for more stories from her!! The characters she writes really suck you in and make you want to be part of their found family.
I love a good enemies to lovers romance and this was such an enjoyable one! Logan and Jess were perfect for each other and I enjoyed their banter. Their relationship was sexy and sweet but they also had lots of fun too.
I definitely saw the third act breakup coming from a mile away but I appreciated that it was broken up into a few little moments rather than one huge bomb. It made it all the more devastating to read. It also made the inevitable reunion all the more sweeter! I love a grand gesture and they both made them in their own way.
I can’t wait to see what happens in the next book. Maybe we’ll finally learn what VBFYRRRBC stands for! 😂😂
"LORD, HELP ME. LOGAN with a sledgehammer, arms rippling as he tore through walls, abs flashing as he wiped his face with the hem of his T-shirt, was straight-up porn—and I wanted a subscription."
Thank you Samantha for my e-arc! I love Jess and Logan!! Their personalities, their romance, their friendships! I felt like I could relate to aspects of both of them so it was easy to root for them as a couple! The writing is funny and I love small town romance!! Dot is especially hilarious!
"I was a paint-by-numbers kind of girl, someone who coloured inside the lines and would never make a pretty picture of her life working freehand. The sad part was, the paint-by-numbers life I used to have wasn’t exactly a masterpiece, either. I was sick of being told what to do, sick of ticking boxes, but I didn’t know how to run my life otherwise."
I really enjoyed reading this! This is the perfect summer romance read! There's childhood enemies to lovers, small town, ex's best friend, home renovations, and some steam!! I'm ready for Book 3! I hope Abbie's next!!
First and foremost, this book was 🥵 🥵 🥵. If you are a spiiiiicy gal, you will like this.
Jess is a college teacher who is faced with the uncomfortable task of getting over her now engaged ex-boyfriend on top of renovating a home that was passed onto her. When her ex secretly asks his visiting best man and ex carpenter, Logan, to keep Jess’ mind occupied in preparation for the wedding, an opportunity presents itself to team up for the house renovations. What starts off as a innocent favor turns into digging up old history between Jess and Logan in this cute small town romance.
I enjoyed this! Jess and Logan had some steamy chemistry and it was tied together with the HEA we all love and adore!
This is book two in the Valentine Bay series. It can be read as a stand alone, but has reoccurring characters from the previous book.
This book has: ✔️small town romance ✔️Ex’s best friend
This small town, Romance set near Sydney, Australia, did not disappoint. At left me rooting for this couple from the get go. It is a first person with a duel point of view.
The female main character, Jessica Frost has always secretly been in love with her ex’s best friend. Logan Reeve. Little does she know, he has always been in love with her too, but never showed it. These two both seem to have a lack of confidence in themselves and neither believe they are good enough for the other, until they start working on a renovation project together, and seem to thrive off one another’s company. Once they cross the Friendzone line, there’s no going back. The problem, Logan is leaving to go home to London. Does he stay? Does she chase him to London? Do they have a HEA? Read Meant for You to find out!
Ahhh I just loved Logan and Jess!! Their story was so cute, fun, and hot. I loved every single minute of their renovation project.
Jess and Logan have such great banter with one another that just makes you laugh. Their connection is all fire, and I was here for it. 👏🏻 We love a man who is good with his hands in more ways than one. They grew so much together. Logan supported Jess in chasing her renovation dreams as well as becoming more confident in her own decisions.
Of course I loved all of the girl gang vibes in this book. We all need a girl gang that will come over with margaritas or ice cream when the situation calls for it.
THE ENDING. I had happy tears flowing. It was so stinking cute and perfect and I loved all of it.
Read if you like 🛠 Enemies to Lovers 🛠 Small Town 🛠 Second Chance 🛠 Forced Proximity
I absolutely adored the first book in this series but the second!!! ✈️🏡💍🍺
When your ex boyfriend is getting married and you have to be at the wedding but the cherry on top is that his best friend will be coming home from the UK for 8 weeks.. you both can’t seem to get along but he ends up helping you renovate your dream home 🤭
Tropes: - small town romance (based in australia!) - series follows a friend group - frenemies to lovers - ex boyfriends, best friend
I loved Jess & Logan’s story. I was so intrigued by Logan’s story as we didn’t know a lot about him from the snippets in the first book and wow. He did not disappoint!
LOGAN 🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼 Literally your new fav book bf!
“Kissing you means something,” he said. “Then, now, and always.”
This is my favourite book of this series so far. It's enemies to lovers at its finest. There's so much tension, build up and pure heat.
Jess and Logan are a case of right person, wrong time. Fate pushes them apart and their relationship disintegrates into enemies as they stubbornly hide from their feelings and protect themselves.
Their journey is complicated and heartfelt, with lots of ups and downs. When they finally put themselves out there and trust in themselves and each other beautiful things begin to happen.
There's the theme of 'it's always been you' that I am here for and I love that they got the second chance that they both deserved.
I'm fully invested in this series now and can't wait to see what happens with the other characters in Valentines Bay.
