“If you love someone, let them go. If they come back, they’re yours….”
What do you do when your reality crumbles in front of you almost instantly?
Davi was convinced she wasn’t meant for true happiness. In the five years since she lost her fiancé and became a mother, she had given up on romantic love. Instead, she committed her life to protecting and providing for her son, Joseph II, while striving to keep his father’s memory alive for both of them.
After enduring the ultimate betrayal from the woman he gave his heart to, Joseph was focused on moving forward. He swore he would never look back, but what other choice does he have when his past is staring him in the face with a miniature replica of him clinging to her leg? Fatherhood was all he dreamed about, but until now, he believed Davi had robbed him of the opportunity.
Now that they both know the truth, Davi is determined to leave Joseph in the past, while Joseph finds himself right back in the place he had run from for years— in love with Davi Westbrook.
⭐️⭐️⭐️1/2 This was my first title from this author….Davi & Joseph is about a second chance romance….I absolutely love a good second chance romance…especially with a child or children involved. Now I’m really looking forward to Jessica & Tate’s story.
Love is one that is restored. I loved every second of this book. Joseph and Davi reconnecting were perfectly written. The book had its moments that frustrated me, swooned me, and made me believe in love. I really thought the couple handled their issues the best way that they knew how. They were still young and didn't have the best representation of a healthy relationship. Fatherhood looked great on Joseph and Davi held her own! I thought Monica's storyline added another layer to the story; I found myself torn because it was clear that she was not "right". My one complaint was the overuse of the "sweet boy/girl" phrase- it was a lot. However, I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Karma definitely came to visit Red and Davi's father, as she should have. I am looking forward to more of this authors work.
Really enjoyed following up with Davi and Joseph. This was one of the rare books that an author doesn't make the woman character goofy or weak. Davi was strong, resilient and forgiving. She held Joseph to a standard and let him k ow when he was wrong. She also didn't run and hide and make him chase her blindly. I loved everything about her character. This was a really good, thorough story and I can't wait to continue reading more about this group of family and friends.
I loved this book just like I loved the first one. I'm glad that they were able to work through their issues and get it right in their relationship. I would love to read a book more on Jess and Tate if you were to do a book on them. 😃
This was a beautiful love story. Jaimsss thank you for your beautiful work! This story was full of love, suspense, plot twist...just everything. Y'all just read the damn book.
The cliffhanger was so well written in the first book, I had to humble myself as I prepared for book two - I knew the author had to be cooking up something that would satiate the longing she was able to create in “A Love That Saves.” (go read that one too). What she gave was that plus more than what I could have imagined.
The author starts us out exactly where we left off in the epilogue - emotions were high, and I had to keep turning the pages. I appreciate the miscommunication trope whenever the author can create desperation for understanding within the reader - I wanted Joseph to “get it,” so bad, and then I wanted him to fix it. I couldn’t stop or settle until there was connection, and once that was accomplished the writer allowed us to see the strength of Davi and Joseph’s bond, even though they had been separated all that time. There were ties that needed to be cut with a new antagonist, and that girl was a wholeeeee problem!
What love story doesn’t have ups and downs? With the introduction of this new character, I think we see this writer flex her creative skill all over again. Monica was more than the “crazy ex” that people could expect - she had deeper issues that make readers empathize with her situation and her mental health struggle. However, the writer was GOATED with how she brought Monica to life - one of my favorite scenes had to do with her in her “grief.” (I won’t spoil it :) but Jaimsss P. did her thing!
The last thing I’ll say that moved me was the element of family. It warmed me up so much that Joseph, who thought he had no one but his mother and Trent to love him and hold him down, ended up having a *complete family, all who are protective and supportive and who loved him before they knew they loved him. I think it speaks to the wonder of God and how He strings things together to release in His own time - at a time we think we’ve lost or been abandoned, He gives us more than what we could have asked. Not only that, but Joseph’s family members were even connected in that everyone’s names start with J!
This book was a FULFILLING read - I went back to read book one again to get the whole picture and Jaimsss P. covered every single base. We’re set up for book two, but are satisfied with every “what happens next” she introduced in book one. I can’t wait to see these books on the big screen - I can see the different perspectives going to another level when i’m watching it come to life with a bowl of popcorn in my lap.
There were parts in this story where I could not get my freaking jaw off the floor. Apparently this is the 2nd book, yet even with me not reading the 1st book yet, it was rather easy to follow and boy did I get taken on a journey with Joseph and Davi😯.
This story had so many twist and turns and bomb drops, yet the one that shook me the most was Davi's dad Charlton and all his scheming. He did all of that just so his daughter wouldn't be with a man he didn't approve of. This was her soon to be husband and father to their unborn child, yet his level of stopping low is a new one for me. Either way, I'm glad Davi immediately got him out of her and her precious son, Joseph the 2nd or Two as she affectionately called him, lives. I love that Davi kept Joseph the 1st memories in their sons and her life. The fashion line dedicated to the elder Joseph was so great. All the love and support Davi had was lovely to read, yet the bond and friendship she has with Jessica, aka Jess, is super dope. Jess is truly a handful, yet she gives it to Davi straight, no chaser, all love. I'm eager to read more about her and Julian.
Even with all that happened to try to keep them apart, I'm glad Davi took the little time she needed to process it all, yet ultimately chose her family; the love of her life Joseph and their son. Her attitude was a bit annoying, yet her overall character vibe allowed for that to be overlooked.
Joseph the first was not my favorite at the beginning, yet he truly redeemed himself. I understand the hurt and pain he felt, yet once he learned the truth, realized how wrong he was even with the manipulation of Davi's dad, he made sure that Davi would never be a part from him ever again. The instant bond he had with their son was so heartwarming. I absolutely love that Joseph had all these special bonds with the younger kids- his nephew Tariq, his sister Justice and his son, Two- yet he made sure they each knew and felt how precious they were to him. I love that he included their son in "wooing" back Davi; so freaking cute. I absolutely need more on this family.
I was so taken aback by Joseph's fling and his bosses daughter, Monica. She was a bold one, yet her mental health was in shambles. I hate that Noah, her other fling, got played, then again I don't 🤷🏾♀️. He was bitter and a hater; karma knocked him plum out, literally 🤭. Either way, I'm glad her craziness was stopped and that she's finally getting the help she needs.
I loved JoAnna and Josiah. They're still young and I hope we get so much more from their rekindling.
I wasn't sure how I'd receive this book, yet I was captivated from beginning to end. Now, I have to go back and read how it all started in more detail, yet I absolutely was enthralled with this book.
My first read from this author, yet it definitely won't be my last.
I have been WAITING for this sequel since the cliffhanger from the first book. Man from the beginning this couple was saddle with hardship controlling father, crazy ex, getting over past hurt, and another crazy ex. But their love was written in the stars.
This sequel was just the right tempo for Davi and Joseph love to restore. Glad we were able to get closure with Clayton Davis dad and Red Joseph evil behind grandma. Won't spoil it but just know karma is paid in full. Not what was a pleasant surprise was Jojo's Joseph mom mini story having a role in this. Typically I don't care for sub stories in the main picture because after time I can be a distraction from the main plot but this just added to the reading experience. This title was perfect for this story causing it related to not just the main characters but the side ones as well. Can't wait for wild Jess and Tate story.
I could not wait for this book. Finished it in one night. It held my interest from the first page until the very last page. Book 1 had me all in my feelings. This one restored my feelings and my stress levels. Joseph did not come to play about his family, after he worked through his angrier. Davi's love for him showed through their son and their home. She kept his memory alive. Joseph and Davi have amazing chemistry together, you can feel their love through the pages. Sweet Boy Two was such a sweet and loving little boy who just rolled with the punches. I am glad JoAnna got another chance at love. Mrs. Westbrook finally found real love with someone new, and Mr. Westborook was still an A**. Joseph and Davi finally have an happy ending. They stuck together through all the craziness with Monica and came out on top. They are the perfect example of Love Compass All! Tate and Jess up next that's going to be interesting. Great Job Jaimsss P!!
I love the premise of this book👏🏽 Joseph and siah said they aren’t coming of their women and were out here acting like twins🤚🏽😂
Loved davi and joseph🫶🏽🤭 jojo and two were my highlights though🤚🏽🙂↕️ that baby had my heart and when i met justice and tariq it was over🥹 i loved the three musketeers🤭🥹
Im sad davi & joe(also josiah and joanna😭💔) had to go through all of that, whew chile it felt like once they got over one thing, the next one was waiting to be tagged in🤚🏽 Joseph, tho said im not letting her go again for nothing & im here for it🙂↕️YES SIR🙂↕️🙂↕️
For Noah to be in the FBI he isn’t that bright😒 like sir, is the light even on atp? Monica needed a straight jacket from the beginning and i don’t know why it took that long for her to get one🤨🤨🤦🏽♀️ Red got what she deserved but i wanted more for carlton🙂↕️ maybe burning at the stake would have been a better option 🙂↕️🙂↕️
This is my first read by this author and I will be looking forward to the next book with Jessica and Tate. I loved this second chance love story for Davi and Joseph. This book had me intrigued from the very beginning. To see the lengths that Davi’s father went to keep them apart, I was beyond baffled. That whole situation had me sitting there reading with my mouth open in disbelief. He had some audacity. I’m glad this couple was able to get their happily ever after in the end. This book was well written and the sub characters only added to the story without distraction.
Whew. If you read part 1 (A Love that Saves), please do yourself a favor and read this one too!!! This second chance love story will pull at every heart string you have. You will get angry, you will want to cry, and you will root for this couple with every ounce of strength you can muster. Jamiess had a gift. As with part 1, I didn't enjoy all the different points of view (we hear from around 5 different characters throughout the book), but I can forgive it, because the story is just that good.
This was a real good story line, I thought that was gonna be Davi finds love after losing the love of her life. But to see it’s a second chance love I was here for it. I really love to see that she didn’t fight too hard to get back with him because it was clear how truly live each other. I also noticed early on that I it was a series and that I should have read the book before, but it’s a good standalone I’m just nosy and need the scoop. Not too long but definitely worth it.
When it is meant to be, it shall be. Five years later and it all comes to light of the way Davi’s father manipulated everyone and the lengths in which he went to do so. This second chance romance was beyond sweet and the way Joseph handled the truth was real and also the way he adapted. I was here for Jojo rekindling with her past, which was her truest form of love despite it all. The twists in this story were spot on; Monica was a true character… I was speechless behind her antics. I can’t wait to read about Jessica and Tate- they’re the definition of a true friend.
Who doesn’t love a second chance at love story? So happy for Davi and Joseph. Davi’s Father was a piece of work, sad excuse for a man and father. Effective and honest communication can clear up so much which both Davi and Joseph realized. I’m glad Jojo got some good Karma too. And I’m waiting patiently for Tate and Jess story. I know it’ll be worth the wait, like this one was.
Davi and Joseph went through a lot to be together but the lies from her father Carlton and Joseph grandmother Red was a lot but they overcame …..I so glad that Jojo and Siah were able to reconnect what her mother put her through was horrible who pimps their teenage daughter, a selfish dope feign that’s who now to read Jess and Tate’s story which will be a wild ride
I absolutely love this story from beginning to end. All of the characters especially Davi, Two, & Joe have a soft spot in my bibliophile heart, & of course crazy Monica & the meddling bitter old men irked my nerves. I always wanna see more of a story, but I definitely feel like Davi & Joseph's story ended just right.
Hope everyone enjoys this sweet story just as I did & I'm looking forward to more of Jaimsss work!
Wow Davi's father was an evil man! All of this time wasted because of his selfishness! Joseph was lied to as well but once they finally got it together, they got their HEA! Joanna and Josiah were sort of thrust into the same situation but luckily it worked out for them as well! I loved the relationships built in this novel! Monica was mentally disturbed as well as Mr. Westbrook! I am looking forward to Tate and Jess next!
A love a good second chance romance and Jaimiss gave me that. I was intrigued by the synopsis because it left me wanting more. Joseph and Davi’s separation was a blessing and a curse—caused by two sick individuals. I’m very happy with how it all played out for them. I can’t wait to read more on Jess and Tate!
I truly enjoyed reading about Davi and Joseph. Now I can’t understand why one person would go through such great lengths to keep two people apart but so glad they were reunited. Can’t wait to read about Jess & Tate next!!! Plus I needs to know bout Joseph’s parents as well!!!
3.5/5⭐️2/5🌶 I enjoyed this book way more than the first. Major HEA vibes and I loved it. I think Davi handled herself perfectly and two was my favorite character by far. Again too many povs and the crazy ex f*uck buddy pov was also annoying. Then the names was tripping me up between Josiah, Joesph, Justice, and Joanna chile my head was hurting.
Bravo!! This made me forget about my concerns with book one. I really enjoyed seeing Davi and Joseph get the loves of their life back. I wanted David’s father to get his and honestly suffer. Looking forward to seeing the gang in Jessica and Tate’s book.
First time reading this author and I can't wait to see what else she has in store. This book was so good. It wasn't too long in between books. The story had everything. I love David and Joseph. The whole family was awesome and everybody had a story. This is must read.
This was a wonderfully written book. It's definitely a book I would recommend. It's truly nice to see love endure after years of separation. For Joseph and Davi happily ever after.
I really enjoyed this story as well as the story within the story of Joseph’s parents. The love was always there. This is my first read of this author and I can’t wait to read more 🙌🏾
An amazing story of love rekindled and healing for a son and his father. Joseph couldn’t wait to win his “sunshine” again and his dad Josiah wanted his “Anna.” What a beautiful story.
I love this book. The series is amazing. Definitely a page turner I love how God was in this the whole time. I love how God's love for us was shared. I would recommend this book to everyone
I enjoyed reading this and getting to know the characters. I want to see more of JoAnna and Josiah. I hope Monica gets the help she needs. What about Jess and Tate and whatever happened to Noah?
