Vegas Weddings #2

Runaway Bride Returns!

Rate this book
Owen Marston could never forget the passionate Vegas weekend that ended at the altar with Isabella Cavaletti. Or the way his new bride walked out on him the morning after. The footloose librarian obviously wasn't cut out for married life. So what was she doing at the injured firefighter's bedside?

Marrying a man she'd known for only three days in the Elvis Luvs U Wedding Chapel definitely rated up there with one of Izzy's wilder and crazier moments. But now her "impulse" groom needed her back at his side. Except the longer she stayed with her too-arousing temporary husband, the more permanent she wanted the arrangement to be…

The hero & heroine met in Las Vegas and married on impulse. And the heroine, a library consultant, skips out the next morning. They agree to an annulment, but don't get around to it before the hero, a fireman, is injured in a fire. The heroine-on some crazy impulse-rushes to her hubby's side, where the hero, surrounded by his devoted but annoying family, outs her as his wife. To avoid getting dragged back to the family manse, where they will pick at him about quitting the fire fighting business, he agrees to have the heroine look after him when he gets out of the hospital. Romancing ensues. The hero has survivor's guilt issues-another fireman died in the same accident-as well as annoying family issues. The heroine has commitment and bad childhood issues. Ridgway handles them all very nicely. I enjoyed the read.

Heartwarming!

Izzy has issues but her whirlwind marriage to Owen is going to bring wholeness to her heart and life. I love all the characters here. If you didn't read the previous book about Will and Emily you should. Tear-jerking ending. Love!

After a accident on the job, fireman Owen Marston is surprised that Isabella Cavaletti has shown up to nurse him back to health. Five weeks ago, after a crazy weekend in Vegas, they may have gotten married, but when she tried to disappear the next morning, they had a huge fight and he hadn't heard anything from her since.

Izzy tells herself she showed up merely to make sure that the man she'd married was alright and then to get a quick annulment. She's spent her entire life living out of a suitcase, most recently as library consultant, traveling around the country preaching the gospel of a libraries without the Dewey Decimal System (so now you all know why I picked this one up). But as she spends more time with Owen, they reignite the sparks that started during the magical weekend they married, and both of them start to wonder if what they have could last.

I'm a sucker for romance that has a strong family aspect to it, and Izzy's storyline about never having a family she could depend on and Owen trying to show her that he will always want her as part of his family was particularly touching.

This was a beautiful story that broke my heart, made me cry and also filled me with hope and love. Christie did a fantastic job of making you feel what the characters felt. I must admit the story started different to why I expected, but was fantastically done. I highly recommend this book to anyone that loves a great romance that touches you as you read it

Cute book. I was slightly disappointed with the way the hero's issues were cleared up in the end, but otherwise felt it was a good read.
