Heal the world, or die trying.

All Kyr ever wanted was to become a peaceful shaman in service to the Sevenfold Empire. But when his vision quest binds his core to the ferocious crimson bear, the young shaman discovers that he must face a much more dangerous challenge than a few sick villagers. A vile corruption is spreading through the world, threatening to utterly consume it.

With only his trusty war club and his wits to guide him, Kyr must contend with the Emperor's elite headhunters, treacherous outlaws, and seductive spirits to purge the infection that threatens the land.

Witch King is a cultivation harem novel featuring a headstrong protagonist, deadly enemies, explicit scenes of steamy good times, and buckets of crazy action. Pick up this brand new series from Nick Harrow, bestselling author of the Dungeon Bringer Series!

Originally bought this by a mistake, was after another book with same title.
But decided to give it a try instead of a refund.
I'm not sure what to think of this one. It's not bad, but it's far from the best I've read.
Guess i'd put it somewhere in the 3 - 3,5 star range.

One thing is certain, I can't remember last time I read something with this much s*x going on in a book. It feels like you can barely read more than five minutes before he has to put his stick in the honey pot, or the girls want to suck the lollypop, if you get what I mean.

If you can survive that, and don't mind that he collects a harem through his journey, the story is not so bad. The story can be a bit fast paced, he struggles a few minutes here and there before he defeats whatever he was fighting.
I could go on, but you get the picture.
I'm going to try out the second book now, let's see how it goes. Have a fealing it won't contain any less steamy scenes.

This cultivation harem first book in a new series by Nick Harrow is about a hero who is a shaman called Kyr, who sets out on a quest to bond his spirit animal in order to return to his village and protect his people, however the quest turns up a few surprises for Kyr, who in turn ends up spending decades in the mountain learning new techniques to return in order to save the world. He faces great challenges as soon as he returns to the floating village, he realises that more time had elapsed than he had anticipated, and that in his absence a great evil had arisen in the form of the Midnight Emperor, the man who had ordered his death. Kyr cannot face the Jade Seekers by himself, so he starts to gather women and spirits to form his harem. He becomes so protective of his women he knows that he will not allow the Emperor to go on killing those he loves. However the battles are no joke, and the emperor is the strongest man in the seven Kingdoms. This is a book for an adult reader, who like myself, enjoys explicit sex scenes, crude swear words and massive battles full of gore. The women in the harem are just as great in battle as Kyr is, and they all watch each other's backs. I loved this 1st book in the Witch King series.

not bad
This is a Wuxia/Xanxia book with sex scenes and a harem.
A nice change for the harem genera here is that the MC is a resident of the fantasy world not a transplant.
Another nice change is that the MC does not automatically try to kill everything by default. He often tries to help/heal/negotiate first. There are some good fight scenes but violence is not his go to solution for every little thing.
I would read the next one.

Unsure

Its difficult to say for this one. I did enjoy it, sure, but a lot of the time things were just jadda jaddad away (like “I trained for 3 weeks” kind of thing without showing us the journey). It felt like a situation of “Oh, he can do that now.” Maybe this one was purely written for its adult aspect, but Im sad that there wasnt more character development.

Story is so and so. A bit much plot armored and everything is solved by sex.

3.5 would have been 4 but the slang usage didn't make sense and there was just too much of it.

Quite Good

This was quiteva good read maybe not as catchy as his Dungeon bringer series but I enjoyed it all the same as the story grew on me the further i got into it.
The plot is reasonable although the constant sex to purify and strengthen means a lot of the scenes can become quite familiar quickly. The main antagonist is a good idea and the being hunted works quite well although i think the 2nd book will be a lot better as his power will allow for a lot more growth and different options.

Quit on page 5

This isn't worth reading.

You will like this if every other word out of your mouth is a four letter word. Cursing just to curse. It adds nothing to the story. Cursing can be used effectively to emphasize emotions and or actions. It is used so much in this story it feels like the author just cursed because he couldn't think of any better words to use.

The f word alone is used over 300 times.

The author needs to expand his vocabulary.

Fun Lively Read

Kyr trains to be a shaman, but ends up using his warrior side more than he expected. His spirit beast keeps him in an alternate plane to develop his skills and power before sending him out to cure the world. I like the action, humor, and lust. Fortunately for the sake of all, his lust is enhanced by love. Cure the women. Save the world. I look forward to the next book.

Shaman to the rescue.

The story was pretty good and the cultivation aspect of this book was good. The characters are pretty good but they need more depth. The pacing was good and kept me engaged with the story.

Writing quality is OK. However, it slits its own throat with exposition dumps that try to encapsulate large stretches of time and effort into mere paragraphs.
