Tobin and Nola were high school sweethearts but she refused to leave Kissing Springs when Tobin left to go to college. Now he's back, a pro footballer and sparks fly! I found Nola really annoying and think Tobin should have made her grovel more.

I thought this was such a sweet story. Tobin and Nola are just so adorable together and so obviously still in love with one another. They are such likable characters and you can't help but to keep rooting for them to find their happily ever after! I found this novella entertaining and so heartwarming!.

Nola has a lot of insecurities. She had them when Tobin asked her to go with him when he was starting his football career and she still has them now that he is a professional.

Nola was his high-school sweetheart who broke his heart when he went off to college. When Tobin comes home to visit after six years, he runs into Nola, and they resume their relationship. But Nola is a small town girl and has never wanted to live anywhere but there. It's clear the two are head over heels in love. Can Nola face her fear and leave her small town? Can Tobin convince her love is worth the risk? Their chemistry sizzled, and it was such a sweet second chance story. You could tell these two were meant to be, and I found myself laughing and crying with them. After a bit of angst, we get a great HEA. Loved it!.

I loved this addition to the Kissing Springs series. I’m a sucker for a small town, second chance romance and that’s exactly what I got.
I loved that Tobin was determined to not lose Nola again once she appeared back in his life after years apart. I loved that their chemistry was as strong, if not stronger, as their first time together. I’m so glad that Nola was able to get over her fear and find get the HEA that she and Tobin both deserved.

Awesome , I love Britney’s writing style and out of the park with this one or should that be off field …. Two high school sweethearts drifting apart through misunderstood choices , he goes off to the NFL she stays in their hometown . Both of them find it hard to move on emotionally as they are still bound to each other . A lovely sweet romance that is compelling and the reader is invested in their story. Well written and empathic

Another superb Kissing Springs/Sunshine Series story. A story about a couple that didn’t stay together after high school but after a long time apart found each other again. The girl stayed in the small town they were from but the boy went to college and became a professional football player.
They couple met each other again after an accident and after that they couldn’t stay away from each other. He was in town only for the holidays and she knew he would go back after that but she decided that she had to be with him even if it was just for a short time. Everything fell together like they were never apart. It did take long before the old feelings came back and they were having sex as well as doing everything together again. Most of the time he was staying with her in her house.
During this time she would have a girl’s night with her girlfriends, they would either go out or would go to someone’s place to drink and talk or do other things. Each time a different girlfriend would plan where and what would take place.
It wasn’t too long after the town’s holiday dance that he asked her to marry him and she told him yes. They both told each other that they love one another. Their parents gave them an engagement party.
The whole time she started having fears of leaving the small town just like she had when she didn’t leave with him after high school. One day when he went to pick up a gift for her and he came back she called off the wedding.
It had been days since the couple had seen each other. She wouldn’t leave the house. The only thing she did was eat ice cream, watch movies and cry. He could only think about getting her back so he bought a home in the small hometown. Her mother came to her house and made her daughter take a shower before they sat down to talk. After the mother and daughter talked the daughter figured out that she was wrong to call off the wedding so she made a plan to get her man back.
Both of their plans worked and they got back together and got married. They got married and he gave her the present he got her when she broke it off with him, it was playing cards with photos of them together. They would spend time while he was playing football in Florida and when he was off at the home in their hometown and she could go there whenever she wanted to go back to their hometown.
She went back to the hometown while he was away and they were to have a girl’s night at their home there, they were to watch her husband on tv. During this time one of her girlfriends is doing a nude photoshoot with her. She must've been drunk when she said she would do it but she went through with it. The friend is going to make her playing cards with the photos she took of her to give to her husband just like the playing cards that her husband gave her after they got married.
The characters were exceptional and a great page turner which is an easy read story. With a steamy, sweet romantic happily ever after ending.

Sunshine and Sidelines by Britney Bell is Book 2 of her new series Welcome to Kissing Springs. It is the story of the fear of failure, self-doubt about being good enough or pretty enough or smart enough to belong somewhere new, and whether fear prevents you from following your heart or staying within the comfort of what you already know even though you are certain life has grander, better plans for your future. As only Ms. Bell can do, throughout Sunshine/Sidelines she brings home the significance of allowing fear of the unknown in all its many forms, to lock people into accepting mediocrity instead of embracing the new and unknown as a wonderful opportunity to grow and become the person you were meant to be with the partner you were meant to be with. I don’t think there is a person on the planet who has not in some form or other allowed fear to prevent them from trying an uncomfortable, different, and/or difficult path, so the premise of this novel is easily relatable. Ms. Bell brings her signature heat and emotions to life in the characters of Tobin, an NFL player living out his dream, and Nola, the love of his life who was too afraid to go with him and leave all she knew in the small town of her birth and childhood. This story has everything you want in a romance novel and will leave you feeling Oh so good! Another MUST read from Britney Bell!

Tobin and Nola are a cute couple who were childhood friends and high school sweethearts, but due to a misunderstanding they broke up and couldn't really date anyone because they were so hung up on each other, and also Nola was stuck in a small town so the pickings were rather slim, whereas Tobin went on to be an NFL player so obviously his picking were not.
I enjoyed this as a short and sweet, quick read which I felt it was quite fast paced due to the writing style, which is sometimes what you need rather than a heavier style story.
This was my second read from the Kissing Springs collection and I'm not sure how they are all related (perhaps it's each author's books that are related?) but I will definitely be looking for the previous and upcoming books to find out.

A good story. Nola and Tobin grew up together in Kissing Springs. They dated in high school. But, when he asked her to move when he started college, in fear, she said no. Years later, as a football superstar, he returns to their hometown for the Christmas season. An accident brings them together again. Lots of sex ensues. It was hard to see her struggling that much with fear. The end was quite nice. The epilogue seems to be related to a potential future story.
Entertaining. Happily Ever After. Romantic. Steamy. Twisted. Unpredictable. Whimsical. Wonderful characters.

Growing up in a small town is hard because everyone knows your business, but it is also nice for the same reason. It is also sometimes hard to leave said small town because let's face it the big wide world can be a scary place. What happens when you let your fears win? Is it possible that you might miss out on the best thing that ever happened to you? What if you don't get another chance to claim what makes you happiest? Read this cute story and see if the heroine can conquer her fear and finally hold on to the only person to make her happy.

Short story about teenage lovers, separated for a few years but never forgot the love they shared. Thoughts and feelings buried deep resurface when Tobin returns home for a visit. They rekindle the friendship and the love. Nolan let's her fears fester and threaten their future happiness..she is a bit weak and weary, wallowing in her thoughts at times, making her uncertain. Tobin is willing to do whatever it takes to ensure she is happy.

This was a nice short steamy read. To bin and Nolan were high school sweethearts who didn't make it, but years later they are reunited in their hometown of Kissing Springs.
