When Indians attack her home in Missouri, Cassandra Black's life appears utterly destroyed. Orphaned and homeless, she moves to Cheyenne, Wyoming, to live with her childless Uncle George and Aunt Mabel. Finding a safe home on the cattle ranch owned by her kind and hardworking relatives, Cassie gets to know the tight-knit community of the railroad town. In letters to her friend Madeline, she writes about her budding feelings for the handsome, somewhat solitary Sherriff Edward Havoc. This relationship is only complicated when Cassie realizes that the Indian attack has left her pregnant and fears the repercussions of revealing this to her potential spouse. Both Ed and her family are surprisingly accepting of her misfortune, and when he makes an official proposal of marriage to her uncle, this is accepted with glee by all parties. With Cassie, Ed finally sees an opportunity to retire as sheriff and realize his dream of starting his own cattle ranch.
Yvette Blake is a pioneer woman at heart, living and loving the country life in the Rocky Mountains. Gardening and homemaking are some of her many talents, but her biggest talent and passion is writing about the stories of men and women who settled the American frontier, just as her homesteading ancestors did. When Yvette isn’t writing she is working as a nurse and spending time in nature with her family. Enjoyed by readers of all ages, “Cassie’s Big Move” is her first book about Cassie and her family, and the story continues for lovers of clean historical romance, with “Cassie's Miracle” the first novel in the Cassie's Legacy series. Cassie’s Miracle is a clean historical romance, set in Cheyenne Wyoming, perhaps in the 1870s.
The brutal opening provided a powerful but tragic “hook” and set the stage for the entire story. After an unspeakable tragedy, Cassandra Black’s neighbors, family, and friends are there to support her. Nobody should have to go through what Cassie did, and the fact that she was able to endure was miracle enough.
Never underestimate the healing power of love, faith, and friendship… and for Cassie, her special bond with a spirited horse named Midnight made the story even better.
This book is very well written, richly detailed, and intensely personal. The author’s description of a journey by train from Missouri to Wyoming is exceptionally vivid.
I highly recommend this book for fans of Christian fiction.

This poignant tale beautifully explores themes of acceptance, love, and resilience in the face of adversity.
This was such an interesting book, it got me so involved Ii couldn't put it down till I had finished it. I was having a tough time as I had to use a giant magnifying glass while waiting for appointment to have cataract surgery. I would have waited to finish reading it but it was WAAAAAAY to good to wait. Now that I can read again I can't wait for Yvette's next book in the series. Really one of the best books I've read in a long time. And I have read a LOT of fantastic books. Highly recommend.
Highly recommend this book that brings us back in time and weaves an inspiring story of overcoming and finding happiness. Cassie had me rooting for her!
