This spellbinding fantasy romance series follows four teens from the adversarial realms of humans, fae, werewolves, and dragon shifters into their inaugural year at the enchanted Bastion Academy.
Lies.
Betrayal.
Treason.
Amelia of Avonlee wants nothing more desperately than to earn the freedom denied to her since birth. Hell-bent on distancing herself from the prince of the warrior wolves, she will stop at nothing to end her betrothal. Even if it takes convincing her feisty cousin, Cora, to aid her in a potentially treasonous quest.
Prince Dane of Carpathia arrives at the Bastion determined to dominate the academy's competitive arenas and show their longtime rivals what the wolves are really made of. He quickly finds his world turned upside down by one little word. Fate.
Desperate times call for desperate measures, and with pressures from the outer realms mounting, a magically binding contract with the Necromancer's devious daughter, Kessara, might be his only hope.
That is if she doesn't destroy him first.
The stakes couldn't be higher as the young nobles from the seven kingdoms of dragons, wolves, humans, and fae gather together for the first time. Fragile treaties between the once adversarial realms will be tested, and in this newly formed academy, only one thing is certain; not everyone has come to promote peace.
Book one of the Kingdom of Seven Sovereigns series follows four noble teens into their inaugural year at the Bastion academy.
R.C. Reigh is an American author of fiction and fantasy novels and short stories for both Middle Grade and Young Adult readers. As a young girl growing up in rural Illinois she fell in love with reading about adventures in faraway places. She began writing as a hobby and in the days before home computers were the norm she would jot down ideas in notebooks or on her mom's typewriter.
4.5 stars Kingdom of 7 Sovereigns is a fun YA fantasy romance series. Wolf is an enemies to lover’s tale and the first book in that series. RC Reigh is a new author to me and one that I will continue to read her work. 7 Sovereigns, 7 couples and each get their own stories. It is set in the medieval enchanted magical Academy, Bastion where mayhem runs rife, and rivals come together to learn but can they be trusted. It’s not a place that is all fun and games. This unique and magical world that RC has created has something for everyone, fated mates, werewolves and dragon shifters, Fae, Princesses, Witches, Necromancers, villains, magic, competitions, quests, and arranged marriages. It is vividly rich in detail making it so easy to imagine this unique world that RC has created. The story is told in multiple POV which I love because we get to learn so much more about the characters. It’s my favourite way to have a story told. The storyline is well written and is as interesting as it is intriguing just as the characters are. Join Dane the strong alpha wolf shifter and Amelia a headstrong princess who navigate their way through their rocky arranged courting and hopefully find all they never knew they truly wanted. There are several twisty plots along with treason, secrets, lies, angst, tension, suspense, romance, violence and danger, that keep you glued to the pages as we follow along on their exciting journey. It’s not just YA’s that will enjoy this book but anyone who loves a good fantasy tale. I can't wait to read more of the seven kingdoms. Bring on the next book, Dragons.
Kingdom of 7 Sovereigns: Wolf is Book 1 in this series and can I say I LOVED this story. I was first drawn the beautiful cover and intrigued by the story-line....this gave me all that I love with a Fantasy YA Romance story. This is a new author to me and I am feeling already invested to see where this series of magic, shifters, fated mates, drama, angst, hidden agendas and some romance will take me. This story has multiple POVs , and this really brought the story together.
What are the chances of a strong princess in Amelia and a wolf shifter, Dane could be fated mates? It is true and Amelia at first wants no parts of having an arrangement of marriage that serves value to her people...she wants to make her own choices. Prince Dane of Carpathia is trying with is every being to accept what his fate is with a treaty that his father has in store for him and also a marriage arrangement with Princess Amelia. Prince Dane is trying to get to know Amelia slowly, especially through Amelia's cousin, Cora...but his patience is wearing thin to where it is very frustrating. With a necromancer's daughter, Kessera, with a mist of chaos and her own agenda, Prince Dane and Princess Amelia must try to work together for the greater good...but with vampires, goblins and attacks happening at the castle...will Prince Dane be able to be there for Princess Amelia..........and will the princess finally be able to break down her wall around her heart and give Prince Dane a chance....
Definitely read and find out. I cannot say enough about this story...it is truly fantastic...I am already looking forward to the next book with dragons...
Amelia of Avonlee is supposed to be married to Prince Dane of Carpathia once she is done with Bastion Academy. An arranged marriage with a man she has never met, Amelia finds her interests lie elsewhere and she wants to end their engagement. Face to face meeting with Prince Dane of Carpathia is the way to convince him that the treaty between their kingdoms can end peacefully.
Dane is curious about Amelia but one look at her he knows she is his fated mate. The stubborn girl though is determined to force him away, Dane though has no intention of letting it happen. There is more at play then Amelia realizes and Dane is determined to change her mind that they are meant to be.
There is a great deal more to this story. The story is rich with characters you want more of. I thought this was a book that had a little bit of everything you could want in a fantasy book. Dane was my favorite character, he oozes charisma and you are all in with the Prince of the Warrior Wolves. Anxious to see what is next from this author.
This book has something for everyone: magic, mayhem, adventure and romance. Loving the first person point of view from each of the main characters. The author does a great job of exploring the story from all angles. Can't wait to learn more about the history of the seven kingdoms that unfolds throughout her series.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Absorbing read. Great characters and visualizations. Decent foreshadowing without giving the plot away. Looking forward to seeing more from this author!
This is a fun academy read that brings creative twists to some of our favorite supernatural beings. I enjoyed reading from the different perspectives of different students and groups within the school. I'm excited to see what happens next and where the story will take us.
The Bastion is a school where young humans, shifters and fae of the royal families of the seven sovereigns will come to study, hone their skills and blossom into the rulers they are being trained to be and it is one of the safest places they can be. Each sovereign state has their own tower where the youths live and each one has two emissaries to help them.
Amelia of Avonlee is one of these youths, a girl with a future planned out for her, but she is rebellious and especially with one certain part, an arranged marriage between herself and the Prince Dane of Carpathia, she is adamant that she doesn't want this and is determined to break it. Prince Dane has always wondered what his betrothed looks like but is of the opinion that she will just be another weak human, but that all changes when he meets her for the first time and the idea of breaking the betrothal soon becomes impossible.
Meanwhile, the other students have their own worries and dreams, so between studying, training and the tournaments and competitions between the kingdoms beckon, the rivalries come out to play in full force. The main one is between the two shifter clans, they each feel superior to the other and will do anything to prove it, so during the tournaments, some true colours shine through and they are not all positive ones.
One elusive fae from a kingdom nobody wants to garner the attention of is Kessara, the daughter of the Necromancer, a beautiful girl with plenty of tricks up her sleeve and chaos to create, but she is always willing to help others, but for a price of course. This is how Prince Dane comes to her, desperate for help with Amelia and turning her opinion of him and their betrothal round, however her price is a steep one for such a request.
As the months progress, the Bastion becomes a haven of lies, alliances, betrayal and treason as treaties are broken, maintained and stretched to their limits, especially when danger calls and reality hits, but will this lead the students down the correct path, or will fate intervene? This is a fantasy book filled with magic, action and a sprinkle of mayhem which will keep you on your toes and hooked until the end.
Kingdom of 7 Sovereigns is the first book in this series about four young royals managing their way through a school that began as a way for different kingdoms to build relationships with one another. Coming out of a war that their parents almost lost against the underworld, the royals realized that they had to stop infighting so that they could defeat their common enemy. The forming of a school to teach their children altogether is their hope for a better future of peace. However, their children also have a mind of their own.
Amelia of Avonlee has been promised to Dane of Carpathia and is not too happy about it. She would much rather choose her own path. Dane does not want to make anyone do anything they do not want to do, but fate steps in and has other plans. Cora wants nothing but her cousin Amelia's happiness and safety. Kessara, the necromancer's daughter, is a loner that just wants to cause chaos. New friendships are made, hearts are crushed, and attacks abound on this new school. Can these teens work together or will they end up mortal enemies?
This is my first time reading this author. I have to say, I really enjoyed this book! I would have liked more background information on the war, but there is enough given that I could piece it together. The characters were easy to read about and picture in my mind. The relationships made, the self-discovery, and disappointments were relatable even though it is fantasy. I am looking forward to the next book to see where this story goes, especially with Kessara. I hope the author will surprise the readers with a character twist!
I am completely enamored by this book and these fantastic characters. When I read (GOT and LOTR meet Pride and Prejudice as book one of the Kingdom of Seven Sovereigns series follows four noble teens into their inaugural year at the Bastion academy), in the description I knew I had to read this book and wow am I glad I did. R. C. Reigh has created such an amazing world within these pages that you won't want to leave! You are pulled into the story even more as you get the first-person perspective and really get to see and know what the characters are feeling and experiencing.
Will the fragile peace of these seven kingdoms be able to remain intact or will the 500 years of war start up again? Amelia, the Princess of Avonlee, wants to keep the peace, but she wants her freedom as well. That means her finding anyway to be released from the marriage part of the treaty that her parent's setup with the wolf king of Carpathia, Prince Danes’ father. The arrogant Prince Dane, who is reminiscent of Pride and Prejudice Mr. Darcy will have you both loving and hating him! While other characters like Kessara, the necromancer's daughter, will leave you trying to guess what she will do next to disrupt the school and everyone in it. This school, which is the first of its kind, has taken several years to make to ensure the safety of all the seven kingdoms' royal descendants along with other students, so that they can come together and learn from and about one another. Will they make friends or are they destined to be enemies despite the treaty of peace? I honestly can't wait to read the next book in this series!
The first book in The Kingdom of 7 Sovereigns series, Wolf, is an very interesting and mesmering fantasy book. It has a multiple POV and that is just great. This way you get to know more about the characters, while the story progresses.
I loved Amelia, the headstrong princess who wants out of the arranged marriage with an awful and very cocky Prince Dane. Their interactions are just great to read, because he will have to confince Amelia that they belong together. Her friend and confidante Cora is a fantastic character, and she is in the middle of it all. There are a lot of side characters as wel, even a villain. And in this book this person has a voice. I would love to see what this person will do in the novels to come. There are a lot of supernatural beings in this wonderful tale and they all have to get along, but of course there are always enemies. But who are they?
The worldbuilding is amazing, it takes place in a magic academy, and the writing style is fast paced, flowing and mesmerizing. The multiple POV is just fantastic, I have no favorite person, each had his/her merits. I had a hard time putting the book down. I am very eager to read more about the various Kingdoms and their history.
If you want to read a kind of unique fantasy novel, with magic, danger, betrayal, romance and a great adventurous plot, with fantastic characters, a flowing and fast paced writing style, and with a multiple POV that makes you want to turn the pages faster, this is the book. I can’t wait to read the next novels in this series.
This is the first book in the series called Wolf. It is going to be a great series I can tell already. Each book will focus on a different couple and this couple is Princess Amelia of Avonlee and Prince Dane a wolf shifter. They are all in an academy where people from the Seven Kingdom have all joined together. Once enemies of each other are they really going to live peacefully now or is something sinister happening underneath the surface.
Amelia and Dane have been promised to each other as a way to keep the alliance between the wolfshifters and the Avonlee people secure. However Amelia has her sights set else where and is planning on changing Prince Danes mind about the whole arranged marriage. Dane however has no intention of ending the agreement when as soon as he meets her he knows she is his fated mate. Now he is more determined than ever to show her that despite their arrangement they are actually fated mates. Amelia however is very stubborn and determined to push Dane away at every turn. Will Amelia realised the truth or will her constant refusal lead to a breakdown between Amelia's family and Dane's pack?
The author does an incredible job of weaving this story full of adventure and magic. There are so many creative characters from wolf's to dragons and witches to Fae. Each character is unique and I can't wait to see and learn more about them as the series progresses.
I was beyond impressed with the immediate ability the author had to pull me into the story. Many times, fantasy stories can be hard to get started with. The long world building and info dumps, but this? This was perfect. The pace was exactly what’s needed and the characters are unique in their own and like-able.
Dane is gorgeous! He is a strong alpha wolf shifter with a preordained arrangement to Amelia, made by their fathers. One that she is dead set against to breaking at any cost. The usual confident prince realizes all too soon that his approach is exactly what will keep pushing Amelia away unless he changes his ways. Finds a way to earn her trust, and her love.
I fell in love with these characters. They each have their own set of skills and powers they work to improve while at the academy together. The story keeps you guessing but also in suspense with what’s happening outside the kingdom of Bastion and what the nemesis’ plans may be. Who do you trust?
This wasn’t a cliffhanger but it does leave you with a hook. A satisfied hook that closes one door but leaves you to wanting to open the next, continuing the life of these diverse students of many kingdoms and the danger that is to come.
Bastian Academy is a school for the 7 different sovereigns which consist of different species. Wolves, humans, fae, and more! This book mostly focuses on a human princess, Amelia, and a wolf prince, Dane.
When the duo were just mere children, they were betrothed due to a treaty between the two kingdoms. Amelia wants out of her arranged marriage especially since her heart belongs to another but once Dane meets her, he decides then and there that she is his whether she likes it or not.
Amelia will stop at nothing to try to end her engagement, including potential treason. Dane wants to be the best fighter on campus but having Amelia around is proving to be a distraction for him.
This being the first time that the 7 kingdoms are together, not all goes peacefully and Amelia and Dane have to put their differences aside to save not only themselves but others as well.
The book is written from multiple point of views giving you a glimpse into the budding romance of the main characters but also some outside plot. I really liked Dane’s character and was rooting for these enemies to become lovers from day one.
After this intriguing introduction to the series, I will most likely look into the rest of the series!
Kingdom of 7 Sovereigns – Wolf is the first book in the Kingdom of 7 Sovereigns series by R.C. Reigh. This is the first book that I have read by this author, so I really didn’t know what to expect from their work- but I adore a great fantasy, and the cover and blurb promised great things- so I took a chance and dove right in. I discovered a fantastic YA fantasy story woven with adventure, action, magic, romance, mystery, suspense, drama, angst, a quest, fate/destiny, shifters (wolves), Fae, dragons, tension, friendship, family, high stakes, agendas, plots/ploys, nothing is as it seems, betrayal, and lots of intriguing developments. This is Dane and Amelia’s story primarily- which sets the foundations of the series, but also gives us multiple POVs of the other ‘main’ cast- which gives us a broader perspective and more to ponder as the story unfolds. There is definitely more at play here, and there is more going on than first meets the eye --- so I can’t wait to see what the rest of the series holds. Kingdom of 7 Sovereigns – Dragon (Book #2 - Dax’s story) is next – and things are set to be great. Happy Reading…
Details, details, details. This is the first time I have heard of this incredible author, R.C. Reigh, and honestly paragraph one had me hooked. Her writing style, the number of details and everything just pull you in and lock you in the upright position for the world and adventures she is about to take you on. Told from multiple perspectives we get a full scope of the story, and every detail from different sides along the way. Prince Dane of Carpathia is a wolf shifter and through an early alliance of his kingdom to Avonlee he is betrothed to Princess Amelia. Not only do we see the story unfold from both of their perspectives, but we get several others, Cora, Kessara, and Roarke just to name a few. Each having their own parts in the plot that keep the story moving at a steady pace. Amelia enters Bastion with one goal to convince Dane to release her from their arrangement that was made while they were just babes. But what follows is no less than heart pounding twists and turns as the characters learn more than they ever expected at Bastion Academy. I cannot wait to read book two, Dragons, and continue to see how this incredible world continues to be revealed.
I’ve been on a wolf kick lately so the title alone piqued my interest. Then I noticed the stunning artwork on the book cover and I was sold.
The author is new to me so I was excited to start this fantasy series. Especially since it revolves around different paranormal shifter groups in addition to humans: dragons, werewolves, and fae.
We watch the different groups converge upon the illustrious Bastion Academy. When different strong willed groups are placed in close quarters with each other, the expected chaos ensues. So you find just about every aspect popping up throughout the storyline which makes for a very addictive reading experience. All the drama, adventure, romance and bit of camaraderie sprinkled through this book.
I loved how the author built up the drama and suspense between the different characters, as well as developing a brilliant new world that readers will learn more about throughout this book series. I cannot wait to read the next book. I believe readers across all genres and generations can find themselves enjoying this book.
Kingdom of 7 Sovereigns was an amazing fantasy novel, the author is a genius when it comes to writing such words that the story just came to life as I read it. I loved the take on bringing the sovereigns from the 7 kingdoms together, so you get to see the different types of characters interacting with one another, even if they are normally considered mortal enemies when in their kingdoms. There was so much excitement, and intrigue in piecing together the clues about the characters and their agendas (especially those deeply hidden as gems in the story) that could be so easily missed if you weren't paying attention. The author put a whole new spin on the fantasy world that has me hooked, I just saw that there is a mini prequel book that I am going to go back and read before moving on to book 2 in this series. If you are a huge fan of all types of fantasy creatures, then this is the perfect next book series for you to read! It gives you all of the excitement, and action, sprinkles in intrigue and romance, and you've got it all in this book. @Brandy Rymer 1/2024
Kingdom of 7 Sovereigns – Wolf (Kingdom of 7 Sovereigns Series) By R.C. Reigh 4 Stars
I love reading academy books. I was excited to discover a new series by an author unknown to me. The author created a world rife with drama, intrigue, mayhem and a variety of supernaturals. The lies, suspense and romance will keep you riveted until the end. The story is told from multiple points of view allowing a more in depth knowledge of multiple characters. As the book is entitled Wolf, it centres mainly on Dane and Amelia.
Prince Dane is the alpha set to take over his kingdom and Princess Amelia will rule over the humans. Their marriage has been arranged since childhood. Now attending Bastion Academy, Amelia wants out of the arrangement. When they come face to face, Dane knows that they are dated and he’ll never let her go. Not only did I like the main characters but the secondary characters were strong as well. I love Cora and Roarke intrigues me. Looking forward to reading more about them as well. Since I love dragons, I can’t wait to read book two.
Really fully immersive YA fantasy romance, that I hope follows through in the following books in this series. This one, the start takes us along the enemy to lovers, arranged marriage path. I cannot wait to read more in this series. The world building and character development is really good. I found it hard to put down, The 7 sovereigns of the country are at the Bastian, the magical academy. Where we are introduced to multiple characters and their backgrounds are touched on. It is told in multiple POV which gives a better take on all the characters and their backstory. Fated Mates, Arrangements, Werewolves,Dragon shifters, Fae, Witches, Necromancers and Royalty all in one place. In this book we meet and follow Princess Amelia and Prince Dane as they navigate their relationship. Amelia is trying to finally make her own decisions, which means trying to get out of the arrangements her father has made and make her own choices. And Dane fighting the need to continue the job of alpha without allowing his tether to his fated mate control him. Will they be happy ever after?
This is my first time reading anything from this author. After seeing the cover I couldn't wait to read this story. Especially after seeing the blurb, where it says for fans of Beauty and the Beast, the Descendants, Cruel Prince, and GOT we would love this. Since I loveee all of those I know I had to give this a try. I will add though that it also has a little of vampire diaries spin off legacies mixed in too🥰🥰 Kingdom of 7 Sovereigns: Wolf is the first book in this series(the second being Kingdom of 7 Sovereigns: Dragons). This story follows young royals, navigating their lives after the 500 year war against the underworld. This is mainly Dane and Amelia’s story but it has a point of view from not just then but other main characters which I liked. This book has everything you'd want to read in a fantasy book and more, with enemies to lovers, mystery, suspense, adventure, destiny, shifters,Fae, dragons, and tension. Omg The cliffhanger at the end has me running to read the second book now. I look forward to reading more!
What a book! This book takes you on a YA fantasy ride in an Allegiance Academy aka The Bastian where the best of the best children go to learn to get along with other creatures of all 7 kingdoms that united after war kept them all apart for many years. This story centers around Dain and Amelia who have an arranged marriage upcoming as was the agreement to help with peace, however Amelia wants out of this rocky enemies courtship and is determined. Amelia is a princess and is used to getting what she wants until she goes to school. These two have palpable chemistry in their courtship gone wrong as well as a lot of tension. Will they find what they need in one another or will Amelia get her wish and get out of her forced courtship. There is so much mystery and drama and danger and this being told in multiple pov made it come alive and I kept turning the pages. Cant wait to gobble up the next story in the 7 sovereigns series!
Such a great book. I wasn't ready for it to end. I love academy based books as well as fantasy so I was a very happy camper with this book.
The college has taken about 22 years to ensure the safety of the students inside, which are royals and their protectors from each of the 7 kingdoms. The college has different species from the kingdoms come together in cooperation. To learn from each other.
Amelia is as stubborn as they come. We find out at the end why but I thoroughly enjoyed her struggle along the way. Cora, her best friend from her court, tries everything to keep Amelia on the straight and narrow and help her through the stress of her betrothed. Amelia of course does not make this easy.
I loved the interactions with Amelia and Dane. They both have work to do on themselves.
Fae, humans, wolves, healers, and a necromancer and the academy is in for fun. Excited to read book two. I need more.
Kingdom of 7 Sovereigns - Wolf (Kingdom of 7 Sovereigns Series) by R. C. Reigh. This is the first book in the Kingdom of 7 Sovereigns Series and its full of information. Its about 4 royals who attend a school made for them to seek peace for their Kingdoms. Ameila of Avondale is set to marry Dane of Carpathia and she is not happy about it. Ameila wants to make her own way and choose her own love. When Dane meets Ameila he knows right off that she is not his fated mate but he still wants to marry her to form a union. On the other hand Dane doesn't want Ameila doing anything she doesn't want to do. Dane is trying to convince Ameila that together they can fight any battle together but Ameila is so headstrong that he can't get thru to her. Will Dane be able to convince Ameila that together they are better for the Kingdom or will Ameila continue to be stubborn and refuse to be told who to marry. Read this fast paced young adult, fantasy to find out!
Kingdom of 7 Sovereigns: Wolf is the first book in the Kingdom of 7 Sovereigns series. I was unsure if I could get into the story, but once I got through the first chapter, I couldn't put it down. The series is full of fantasy, romance, and intrigue. The 7 Kingdoms are brought together, and the fragile agreements are challenged when the new Bastion Academy is opened. Will the new academy help bring the Kingdoms together or pull them further apart? I enjoyed the pairing of Amelia and Dane, who are the primary focus of this book. Keep in mind that each book will focus on 2 characters, but of course, there are other storylines following from book to book. I enjoyed learning more about the world that the story is set in, watching how the different characters are introduced, and trying to figure out where each of their stories will go. I look forward to reading the next in the series.
Let's start out by taking a second to admire the cover of this book. It's absolutely gorgeous!!
In this slightly comical at times fantasy read, we hear from 4 young teens who are in their inaugural year at the Bastion Academy. There are wolves, fairies, witches, dragons, vampires, ogres, and humans involved in this story, with this one really focusing on Prince Dane, who is a wolf, and Princess Amelia, a human. They are fated to each other and their parents arranged their marriage when they were still wee babes.
There is a lot of action, some comedic relief, enemies-to-friends, and even a budding romance or two in this amazing tale. I am looking forward to reading more books in this series and seeing how things progress for all these teens. I highly recommend this read and so far, it's my favorite read of 2024!!
when a treaty forces you to marry , Would you abide by the rules? In the Seven Kingdoms of Vaalbara, there has been war. 500 years of blood shed ended by a treaty only 27 years ago. Tensions are still high, causing a distrust at the academy. Amelia the Princess of Avonlee, is aware of the cause in the treaty that states She must marry Dane the Prince of Carpathia. On her first day of the academy, she plans to ask Dane if that part of the treaty can be expelled. On their first meeting she finds his arrogance tasteless. Dane is not too fond of her either, but he knows that something binds them together that cannot be broken. I enjoyed the world building in this book. The POV switches between characters and gets a little confusing but over all a great book. The cliffhanger at the end left me in awe, ready to read the second book.
This was a brilliant start to the Kingdom of 7 Sovereigns series, and I am already looking forward to the next book! It was also my first book from this author, but they quickly made it to my watch list. I am a huge fan of anything fantasy related, and this was a great addition to my YA fantasy collection. I loved the ability the author displayed as they painted each scene for readers to experience instead of just observing. This story focuses on Dane and Amelia and is told from multiple points of view, which is also a quick way to my heart. The flow of the story is magnificent and at least part of the reason why I devoured this book in one sitting. If you enjoy wolves, dragons, and fae along with an action-filled storyline that keeps you guessing, don’t wait any longer because this is your book!
I was drawn into this story and the characters from the moment I started reading this book. There is such a diverse mix of characters and I found myself becoming invested in the story of more than one of them. They all seem to be tied together and I couldn’t wait to see how the author would have things play out. The story itself is a great mix of fantasy and romance. The balance between the two genres is perfect and has something to capture most peoples attention. This is the first book that I have read by this author but, if this is any indication as to their overall writing style, it will definitely not be the last. The book was well written, intriguing and entertaining from start to finish. This was a fantastic book and I cannot wait for the next one.
This is a new author to me, and the first book in this series. I am very excited to report that this book is so much fun to read! Fantasy, magic, romance, shape-shifting, suspense, action - this young adult book has it all. The characters are amazing and will hook you from the very beginning. Anyone who is a fan of Lord of the Rings or Game of Thrones or even Harry Potter will appreciate this story. It centers around students of a magical Academy and includes pretty much all the elements of a fantasy - medieval princes and princesses, heroes, villains, etc. I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves a magical, vibrant tale full of a little of everything! Even if you aren’t typically a young adult/fantasy reader, this is definitely one to pick up.
I haven't been this excited about a YA series since Percy Jackson. Wolf, the first book in the Kingdom of 7 Sovereigns, is an enemies to lovers tale. Duty bound Amelia of Avonlee is betrothed to Dane of Carpathia with the hope that their union will provide her smaller kingdom with protection. To make things even more complicated, she must now attend a school with children from all seven kingdoms, including Dane.
Bastion Academy is the realms last ditch effort to build bridges between kingdoms but some of the nobles just want to watch the world burn and I am so here for it!
R. C. Reigh has renewed my love of YA Fantasy, and I cannot wait for the next book!
