The Magus: Kundalini and the Golden Dawn (Deluxe Colour Edition): A Complete System of Magick that Bridges Eastern Spirituality and the Western Mysteries

The Kundalini and the Golden Dawn is the culmination of my Spiritual journey through the Western Mystery Tradition after experiencing a full and sustained Kundalini awakening. Once I joined a secret and esoteric school called the Golden Dawn, I was introduced to Ceremonial Magick—a Spiritual Alchemy practice geared towards Chakra tuning and cleansing—whose ultimate purpose is personal transformation and Enlightenment.

I have found that this sacred art of energy invocation not only alleviated the intense fear and anxiety I was left with after awakening Kundalini, but it furthered my Spiritual progression tenfold in a short period. As such, I dedicated myself to mastering the entire Golden Dawn system.

After leading a Golden Dawn group in Toronto, Ontario, I left the organised system but continued to teach Ceremonial Magick to other Light Seekers. I realised that the world was missing a unified and comprehensive system of Magick that combines Eastern Spirituality and the Western Mysteries, whose presentation is clear and concise, without the usual cryptic occult connotations. What emerged is The Magus —a Universal science of energy that we all partake of as human beings.

You don't need to be a part of a Magickal Order to get the full benefit of being initiated into the energies of our Solar System. Everything that can be gained from Ceremonial Magick practice can be done from the comfort of your home. If you dedicate ten minutes a day to this practice, you can advance substantially in your Spiritual evolution.

Ceremonial Magick exercises in The Magus are presented as part of Spiritual Alchemy programs whose aim is to help you connect with your Higher Self and tap into your highest potential as a Spiritual human being. These programs go hand-in-hand with knowledge lectures on the Qabalah, the Five Elements, the Seven Chakras, Astrology, the Tarot, Divination, meditation, Hermetic Philosophy and Alchemy, the Christian and Egyptian Mysteries, Enochian Magic, and more. The Magus also contains a wealth of knowledge concerning the Kundalini from both Eastern and Western perspectives.

As your connection with your Creator strengthens through the work in The Magus , your personal power will increase, enabling you to manifest the life you always wanted. By becoming the best version of yourself, you can be the hero of your own story and experience the joy and excitement of being alive. The end-game of The Magus is the completion of the Great Work and the expansion and unification of the individual consciousness with Cosmic Consciousness.

WAY WAY WAY too much here to unpack, or deconstruct, or provide specific commentary on, or really even outline.

There is just way too much material here.

Im just not qualified.

I’m not even going to entertain the idea of it.

I’m also not going to argue the veracity of any of this.

It wouldn’t be difficult to dismiss or uphold anything or everything in this book a-priori.

But that seems like a kind of empty ritual from where I sit.

So I’ll take a hard pass.

I’ll leave that to others.

What I am willing to say about the is.

For what this book is.

It seemed like a really high quality one of these.

At least to me.

And I was highly engaged and entertained throughout.

I absolutely will not do any of the practices outlined.

They seem super dangerous to me.

And I already have equivalent practices from another tradition that have proven to be very safe and very clean/trustworthy.

But if you are interested in trying out some self guided western ceremonial magick practices.

This book looks like a very clear, well illustrated resource.

RE: kundalini.

This is where I do have some personal experience.

I was initiated into an intact, Indian kundalini mahayoga tradition via shaktipat diksha in 1994. I spent several years afterward doing intensive yoga/meditation/ritual practices in that tradition. During that time, and in the preceding 30 years, I have experienced many phenomenon that the are analogous to what the author reports. The context and world view that I interpret these phenomena from have evolved, from a traditional Hindu religious perspective, to a secular Buddhist perspective, to a scientific materialist perspective, and more recently to a worldview that includes all of the former, without necessarily believing/dismissing any of it. My instinct is that this will continue to evolve over my lifetime (what remains of it). And further more. I’m growing increasingly skeptical of the enduring value of literalism and dogma (in any form).

So for now.

I am going to entertain possibilities.

Have a fuck ton of fun.

Learn.

Explore.

Grow.

Share.

And generally steer clear of the sense of certainty.

Whenever and wherever possible.

As it has gotten me in pretty hot water in the past.

Given all of the above.

Much of what the author describes, squares with my experience (at least on the phenomenological level).

As such.

I am (personally) pretty comfortable with him as a source.

However.

As previously mentioned.

They are coming from a different worldview, and a different practical system than what I have been trained in. And, at this juncture, I don’t feel the need to adopt any of these practices.

Like I said.

They seem dangerous.

I take the warnings seriously.

And I am way too old to fuck around and find out.

I have personally experienced some very dark night phases.

Been there.

Done that.

And I’m DEFINITELY staying on the light side of all of this.

All that aside.

This book is a blast 💥

I recently got this book to help me understand the physiological changes that took place after my recent kundalini awakening in September 2020. The author's voice transcends through the pages and one can see the clarity and understanding of the author - an experienced magus himself!

I communicated with the author to clarify some thoughts and he was ready, willing and able to shed more light on my doubts. I will be following through by practising the teachings laid out systematically in the book.

Looking forward to the author's next work - Serpent Rising!

Likewise to its sister book, Serpent Rising, this book opened my eyes to the ways of the Kundalini and helped me through a tough time. I bought and read both books as they work very well together in being my ultimate guide through my kundalini awakening. I can't say enough good things about Neven Paar and the work he put into producing these. I'm waiting for more!

What a read! Blew my mind. I'm just starting to learn about the Kundalini and this was an educational way to start my journey. Neven Paar breaks things down slowly and allows for people who don't have a lot of information a way to digest it, I am looking forward to his second book too!

An incredibly thorough and practical book linking the Western Mystery Traditions with Eastern concepts. Cannot WAIT to start Ceremonial Magick, per the system outlined here!

One of the most eye-opening books I’ve ever read.
