OK I am going to preface this by saying if you have not read this series please go do so immediately. I do not care that it is already the middle of November. SPOOKY SEASON WILL NEVER BE OVER!!!

In the culmination of this series we see Blythe finally understanding who or better yet what she is and the devil is right there by her side whether she wants it or not.
Judas is everything we have been waiting for and boy did he deliver!!
I mean the twists in this book are everything and the Halloween vibes are immaculate!!

While Ghost will always have a special place in my heart Judas did put up a fair fight (in this case not in the book lol) so I have to respect him for that. But them together… Just saying…

The last book in the Halloween Boys series. If you're going to pick up this series, you have to read all the books back to back. That's the best way to do it.

I'm slightly disappointed in this last book. First of all, Blythe STILL has the damsel act even though she tries to be independent and fix her shit on her own, but in the end the guys still save her. Second, she's a goddam reaper and we barely see anything of her powers. Third, I had high hopes for Devil but I don't feel like I really got to know him in this book. Everything is so mysterious and covered in riddles and yes it adds to the spooky vibes but I just wanted to KNOW Devil. In the end all is revealed and we get a happily ever after but for the amount of conflict between Devil and the other guys I felt like it was rushed over and solved too quickly. They just all suddenly agree and like each other? How?! Also, when the guys save Blythe from Devil they STILL shield her from everything; I hoped they would cut that shit out. The things I did like: the SPICE was hot, Devil can get it. The vibes were spooky as hell, literally. I feel like this series works better when you read the books back to back.

I finally....finally finished this series, and I'm glad I truly didn't enjoy the last book, which was on me because honest I forgot some stuff that happened in the last book. 😢😢

But I did enjoy Blythe growth from when she started to now. And all the halloween boys 🥰🥰🥰 I'll be honest. I still don't like or meh with Devil, lol

Idk what else to say because my heart wasn't into this book like it was in the others. If you read the series read all at once, don't pause and pick another book because then you forget, haha.

I was so excited especially after Wolf’s book and because I was in love with the mystery that was Judas. And I loved Judas in this book but I felt like it was rushed, I don’t know maybe my expectations were too high..

The ending to The Halloween Boys series. I loved Wolf’s book, and I was set up for a twisty conclusion where all would be revealed. Well, things were revealed, that much I can say.

The beginning started off well, was smooth and engaging, and then the fourth quarter of the game happened. I started getting confused, important characters met their demise, and there were spots where opportunity called yet they fell flat during pivotal moments. For example, when the boys get to hell and start fighting the devil because they’re close to finding Blythe, in my mind I was writing the story as I read, hoping she would somehow sense them there or a spirit would tell her she was needed, and maybe she’d show up and see the melee, and we’d get a display of her powers as she tried to stop the brutish fighting. Enough with the Devil’s bullshit, you know? The games and riddles and whatnot. Keeping her against her will. Some of that was explained later, but eh. I then hoped that once she broke up the ridiculousness of fighting, the boys would see her horns, and their reunion would be intense and emotional, because for so long, all she could think about was how much she missed them and needed them.

But…none of that happened. She never became the badass I was anticipating. I didn’t get to see her powers or strength. She told me she felt stronger, many times, in fact, but I didn’t get to see it. Everything felt casual after that. Her and the boys were then…whisked away back to Ash Grove where more convolution took place with the guys skirting the truth of what happened, treating her as if she needed to be sheltered from the harshness of what they endured in hell. I mean, she noticed Fenrir was down a lot of lunas, but it was never addressed. Like…never, and it was a pretty big deal to me, the losses that occurred! I kept waiting for the explanation, for the conversation they should have, for her to learn everything in the wrap up, but it just never happened. The boys’ time in hell was a massive chunk of the book, but there wasn’t even a moment where Blythe said something like, “I sat there as they recounted the horrors that occurred in their pursuit of me; each sharing their own personal hell and the price loved ones had paid. All to get to me.” Something like that. Closure, I think is what I’m looking for.

All in all, the series was cute, definitely Halloween themed and spooky; sweet at times, intense at times, spicy at times. I loved the representation as well, but I feel like fans keep skinny-washing Blythe’s character whenever I see fancasting and art. But whatever. I needed more, but what I got was okay.

The world, the atmosphere and the affection between everyone is definitely extraordinary. Simply outstanding.
I love that all the characters are so complex and definitely can't be divided into good or evil.
A downside is: Lack of communication – that could have made so much difference. It's human, I know - even if there's little else human about the 5 - but I found it difficult to read at times because the solution is so tangible.
I am also a bit irritated by how cruel it was in hell (sound weird, but yes), how many wolves were left behind and how little this is dealt with in the further course of the book...

Wow what an incredible end to an explosive series. Kat wrapped up Blythes and the Halloween Boys story phenomenally with so much thought, detail and planning. I actually think this is the best series in terms of world building that I’ve read. The description and language used made me feel as if I was there in that world, a true transportation of imagination.

I can’t believe it’s over, what a journey it has been getting to know Blythe, Ames, Onyx, Wolfgang and Judas. Whilst Dragon has been my favourite book overall, Devil has been my favourite in terms of Blythes development, how far she has come, no longer the self doubting, scared girl we met in Ghost but a strong, self assured woman who knows her strengths and power. 👏🏻

Whilst I did struggle with the many pov at the beginning it is necessary within the story, from past and present to get the full understanding. I loved having Judas’ pov from how the Halloween Boys came to be and I was blown away from the Highway to Hell levels and each of of the boys scenes. Kat I absolutely applaud your incredible mind and I hope you never, ever stop writing. You’ve brought so much joy from this series and I’m feeling emotional that their story is over. I know you have other stories from this world in the works and I cannot wait to dive back in, thank you 🖤

The end of the Halloween Boys 🖤 I really enjoyed reading this series. It was perfect leading up to Halloween. I did read the first 3 in a row. I had about a month between Wolf and Devil. I think it’s best to read them all in a row to keep the details fresh. This is the final book of the series. It’s all been leading up to Blythe and Devil. I think I was ready for an epic story and ending. I think I built it up too much in my head. The boys essentially end up having to go to hell to try and save her. But being a reaper, you’d think she could save herself. Sadly, we don’t get to see her use her powers much. 3-3.5 stars. Still enjoyed the series as a whole.

First off: Read the tw for this book especially.

Secondly: I spent 4 books waiting for Blyth to become this strong female character that she desperately wanted to be… and it kind of did and didn’t happen.

I think what made me mark this so low was definitely some scenes but also I felt like things were being built up to be more in the other books, but it went in the direction of interconnecting everything instead. If you liked that and expected that, then that’s great. But, I wasn’t seeing it through this series. So, when it’s trying to all be tied up in the end to fit nicely, it didn’t fit well from what I perceived of the books.

Had High Hopes

I really had high hopes for this book, this ending to the Halloween Boys’ series. However, while I was enraptured by the story I was put off by the storytelling. It came off as choppy, rushed in places that needed more time, and drawn out in places that could’ve been wrapped up much more succinctly. We finally (after three and a half books) see Blythe find her strength and her power, only for it to be completely glossed over.

Moments like this always leave bittersweet aftertaste. There is no denying that I wanted to be here since I've read Ghost. All the questions which were building up along the way, the journey we took with Dragon, the chase in the woods with Wolf, the Devil's riddles. I'm finally here, yet I know I'll miss these guys tremendously knowing this is he end.

Kat's writing, as always, was poetically beautiful. The way we had a chance to meet Devil face to face was more I could count for. He was always the mysterious guy in the shadow's playing his own game. On a few occasions, I had to question his motivates: Was he a friend or enemy? I think it made it more fun to read because nothing was straightforward. There was this lingering question bugging you the whole time: Who really is Blythe or Death or rather Mortala?!? Step by step, we slowly uncovered the truth.

What an absolutely treat it was to go back to the beginning and see how the Halloween Boys came to existence. We saw it all through Judas eyes. Let's not forget the trip we took to hell. There were so many important things happening there for each one of the guys, but I guess you have to read it for yourself.

I personally think this was a beautiful ending to the whole series. We learned the deep meaning of love and how far you can go and the sacrifices you take to be united with your one and only. It got me emotional to see things from Judas perspective, how affected he was.

Selfishly, I was maybe hoping for more scans with all of them, sorry its my kinky side of brain talking. lol still what we got still satisfied my curiosity 😈

Overall, I will always recommend this series. Halloween is one of my favourite parts of the year, and there is no Halloween without its boys and Ash Grove 🎃

What an ending !

This book was everything I expected.
Okay, true, I guessed most of it before it even started. But I was still so good.
I loved discovering Devil, I love his relationship with Blythe, and the whole story behind the Halloween boys.

I feel like I’m leaving some good friends now that the series is over, and I’m very glad I read it

Hmmmm this one I think probably deserves a 3.5.
I liked it, I had fun with the big battle of hell and rallying up all the people who wanted to help the boys get Blythe back.

Judas is an interesting character, and it was satisfying to confirm my thoughts from the previous books about what his involvement really meant.

I didn’t like the amount of time that Blythe still kept going “I’d show him…I’d get brave…I’d do this” and it never seemed like she actively chose to do any of those things. But I did like seeing her reunited with the boys, and the joy and gratitude she feels in the end is really satisfying.

I wish we would’ve gotten to see a little more of Blythe and Judas’ relationship, whether now or in the past. With the other guys, you get to see Blythe fall in love, and with this one you really don’t get that because of all their history.

I also don’t really understand why, if the goal was always for all of them to be reunited, why Judas didn’t want the rest of the boys around in the beginning, and why he told he she would never see them again, and why he never said or explained anything.

Like, obviously it’s for plot reasons, but I still don’t really understand? But maybe I’m missing something.

Either way, I had fun reading the series, even though it has some pet peeves of mine.

A little disappointed in this conclusion to the series. We finally get our questions answered but they felt unsatisfying. The Halloween Boys continued to treat the FMC with kid gloves to the near end even when we learned her identity as Death. She continued to be weak - I really wanted her to pick up a stronger personality that must have been closer to who she was in the past but it didn't really happen. The reverse harem (which I usually love) aspect was also a bit bothersome here when Judas was included as they have such a history together - I would assume he would be more possessive. Were they mainly attracted to her because she had left bits of her essence in them? That seemed to explain the justification of it all.

Well…

I hate leaving less than stellar reviews, but I really struggled to get through this story. It felt choppy, incomplete, and shallow. The writing felt juvenile. I felt the details and depth were greatly lacking. I adored the other books in the series and have read them all 2-3 times but this one fell very flat for me. It was like reading a bunch of notes left on post-its that had been bound as a book. I liked the premise of the ending. I liked the last few chapters the best. Overall, it was a challenge to get through and I almost stopped reading every other chapter until Blythe figures out who she is.

Where do I even begin with Devil? I’ve always described the Halloween Boys series to anyone I suggest it to as, “The most immaculate Halloween vibes you could ask for in a story. If you want something that feels like Halloween, then pick up Ghost.” And while we did see some other holidays and locations throughout the series, it seems only fitting that our story concludes right where it all began - with our Halloween Boys in Ash Grove in all of its October glory. In the tradition of the series, Blythe finds herself with quite a bit of one-on-one time with one member of her group, though this time it's a forced proximity situation she’s not super thrilled to be in. The more time she spends with Judas, the more confusing her feelings become and the fewer answers she seems to have. There are so many twists and turns in this relationship it really kept me on my toes the whole way through. The last two books have really focused on the strengthening of two pre-existing relationships, so having just little moments and hints throughout to lead us up to this point made the interactions between Blythe and Judas that much more exciting. 

Blackthorne manages to balance Devil as both a compelling story focused on the final, mysterious member of our quintet and a cohesive, satisfying conclusion to the overall series. All of our main players get their time to shine and grow, and we get to see several favorite side characters along the way. I particularly loved seeing more of Raven and Cat, especially interacting with each other. While I’m sad to see The Halloween Boys come to a close, I couldn’t have asked for a better ending for our favorite monsters. And really, I’m just grateful that the door to Ash Grove will always be open for those of us who bring a little bit of Halloween magic with us every single day.

Blythe learns the true meaning of the phrase "the devil is in the details" when she's thrust into hell with the Devil and a mystery she'syet to solve. Blythe is determined to get back to her men, but the Devil refuses to let her go. Ghost, Dragon, and Wolf refuse to let Blythe go without a fight, even if they have to take on all of hell.

After reading Wolf, I couldn't wait to read Devil and see how this series was going to end. I thought there were really beautiful moments in this book, but the story fell flat for me at parts. It was a bit of a let down, which was a bummer considering how much I loved Wolf's book. I will say I was shocked I liked a clown character. Clowns are terrifying, but I thought Zyre was funny.

I liked the growth that Ghost, Dragon, and Wolf went through when they were battling in hell. They had to confront traumas from their past and make peace with things in order to move forward. I love their devotion to Blythe and to one another.

I thought Devil and Blythe's story was beautiful, especially when everything was revealed. You could feel how much Devil loves Blythe. He sacrificed a lot for her, and his pain and heart ache broke my heart. I'm glad they got their happy ending, but I wish we would've had more of them together as a couple. They have an epic love story, but we didn't really get to see it.

I thought the story had a lot of potential, but it fell flat because it was a lot of information dumping. The plot didn't feel well connected, which made it hard to follow at times. I think it could have benefited from being a little longer. I do think the most impactful relationship, Devil and Blythe, was played down a lot. It doesn't seem like they get as much time together in the happily ever after part as the rest of her men. I don't really like that because I think their relationship is beautiful. It feels off balance compared to the others.

Not sure I can properly review this without getting into spoiler territory, so I'll just say this: it took some traversing over a few rocky parts to get to where we needed to go, but we got there, and it made it all worthwhile.

This series didn't go ANYWHERE that I thought it would when I first picked up Ghost - but I suppose that at the end of the day, that's a good thing. The mystery surrounding Judas is revealed, as is the truth around Blythe, but it's done so in layers, so just when you think you've got it all figured out, Kat pulls back another layer, and then another.

The rapport between Blythe and Judas was excellent in certain moments and fell flat in others (at least for me). I craved stronger consistency with this one - especially after Dragon and Wolf kinda feeling all over the place to me. Devil definitely felt like it had more solid footing, but... I don't know. I see what Kat was going for and I love it, but it could have been stronger, in my totally biased/subjective opinion.

Basically, this book - and subsequently, the series as a whole - were not at all what I had expected when I first started. Still sorting through how I feel about that. Will probably be marinading on it for a while. Regardless, I still enjoyed it, and I guess that's what matters most. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I've loved Kat's writing & storytelling since I picked up Hotwife in early 2022 but she really popped off with this series. And ESPECIALLY with this epic conclusion to the Halloween Boys series!

Devil is the fourth and final installment in the Halloween Boys series, which follows Blythe and her relationship with Judas aka Devil. Their story is so incredibly unique and beautiful. There are so many twists and turns that you think you've figured it out... until you keep reading and find out that you were absolutely wrong.

This series will always be so special to me for the way it portrays Blythe as a plus-sized woman. The way the men worship Blythe's body is next level. There's a steamy scene in Devil where Ghost mentions how he loves that her thighs touch because it holds her *essence* mixed with that of the other Halloween Boys. It's always so refreshing to see a plus-sized main character have a well-rounded story that doesn't involve a focus on her weight or the way that she looks. Instead, she simply exists as such & that's so beautiful.

Another reason this book (& the series as a whole) will always be one of my favorites is because of all the bisexual loving throughout! Blythe & the Halloween Boys are in a big, polyamorous relationship. It's so beautiful to see each of the Halloween Boys with Blythe but then also see them together without her.

I am so obsessed with this series & think that everyone needs to read it! Even if you don't think you're into paranormal romances, I suggest you give this one a try.

Review - Firstly, I want to say thank you to Kat for giving us this amazing story that I have devoured time and time again. Halloween isn't just a holiday it's a state of mind. Secondly, this was such a beautiful way to end this series and I will miss these boys with my whole heart. Be sure to read the Authors note at the end because it is powerful and beautiful and will have you in tears as it did me. Kat you are such an amazing soul and I'm so glad I get to experience your words through your work.

Now on to this review as I pick myself up and dry all these tears. The emotional rollercoaster this book sent me on was insane and I was here for it. Maybe I was being overly emotional with this being the last book but here we are. Devil was everything I wanted and more since he has been teased so much through all the other books. Getting to hear his side of the story and all the events that led up to Blythe walking through the doorway to him was fantastic. So many things will click into place, and you will understand so much for why he was doing the things he did. Since we are talking the Devil here you should know that not all of this is sunshine and rainbows. He will definitely make you mad. I went through all the emotions with him from love to hate back to love again. I can't wait for this to release so that everyone else can experience this.

This was the end of a beautifully written, dirty, sexy, and funny series… and I loved every single second of these books!! The mythology surrounding these books was amazing too, I adored that trope too!

For this book, I didn’t necessarily put those little details together from the clues in the first 3 books, but once I got to a point in this book, it hit me. My “ah-ha” moment was one that I loved and it made me excited to see where Kat would take this.

I adore all these characters and their flaws and traumas and all their love and support for one another, just 🤌🏼 . I can’t say it enough, reading about love, happy endings, and how much characters can give of themselves for another character-is just the most beautiful part of the books I enjoy.

In the end I’m reminded that all we all need in books is to feel that connection with the characters we are enjoying. And these books did that for me. There is something truly magical about Blythe and her men, especially Judas. Judas giving her all this space to really make it to him and the twists of each character along their journey was amazing to read about. It was a full roller coaster of emotions and I will be on this ride again and again.

I do recommend these books, all 4 of them in order are excellent and a perfect mix for Halloween! Spice was 3.5 🌶️ over all 4 ⭐️ too! I would totally recommend these to my book bestie!

Ok.. well.. umm..

One moment while I collect my thoughts.

Going in to this I knew it was going to be epic as Kat is an expert story teller. Only death herself can bring the Devil to his knees..

Blythe is once again on a mission to save her Halloween Boys. Only this time she has to make some bargains and dance with the devil himself on his home turf.

This book had me feeling so many different emotions even Onyx would have a hard time keeping up with them. The swooning, the confusion, the hurt, the sadness, the pride, the love, the realizations. I was sobbing at a few points. 100% worth it though and I’m now sad it’s over.

Any plot holes? Filled. Every question I’ve had? Answered. Everything has always been leading up to this. Devils character was crafted beautifully! The twist at the end made everything click and make so much sense, I didn’t even see it coming.

Caution: you will have a hangover and want to stay in the spooky world of Ash Grove forever.

I can’t believe this series is done🥹 I have such mixed emotions. Watching Blythe grow into herself over the course of the last four books was such a journey. It felt like watching a friend blossom into a bad ass bitch. This book in particular is a LOVE💕 story, like the kind of shit we all dream about in our dark little minds. This one is a bit of a rough ride but once you make it, Kat puts all your pieces back together again. I know for sure some of y’all will cry. Kat wrapped everything up in a manner only she could pull off because I swear her writing is magic. I honestly don’t wanna say too much because I feel like there’s a lot that could be considered spoilers so I’m gonna keep it simple. This series was a rollercoaster and I’m so excited for all of you guys to be able to experience the twisty end.

Wow. How do I even describe this book, or how beautiful this book ended this series? It’s safe to say I loved it, from beginning to end.

We started with a cliffhanger from the previous book and we’re slammed by the emotions of the characters. This book describes the journey of the boys trying to get back their girl. It also describes Blythe’s journey to finding herself and all that that puts in motion. All the pieces of the story/series coming together in a spooky, spicy, beautiful and smiling with tears falling down kind of way.

Kat wrote another magnificent book, an epic conclusion to this series and I am so sad this series is over, but so happy to have read it. It gave me so many smiles and a couple of tears too. I’m going to have to re-read it all.

4 stars ⭐️ I can’t believe it’s over 🥺 these characters are going to stick with me for a while. This last book in the series focused on Devil and we finally saw Blythe grow into herself and become a bad ass reaper. I loved how each character had their own personality, traits and personal growth. I did find the last book a little rushed and I would have loved to read more about Judas and Blythe’s history but given the intricacies of the bigger story, I get it. I don’t tend to gravitate towards fantasy books, but I’d definitely read something else from this author. If you are looking for a twisty plot, spice (why choose) and spooky vibes, I’d highly recommend this series.

This was such an amazing ending to The Halloween Boys Series. Devil has finally given us all of his sneaky answers to all our questions. This story was very well written by Kat and I was amazed by the lore she spun within these pages. I have always been drawn to the character Judas, aka the devil. He is quiet, brooding, and mysterious. Who wouldn't fall for a man like that? This book only made him so much better. How he is with Blythe, just makes me melt. Blythe is strong and finally finds herself, something she has been getting closer to with each book till now. This series has given me such hope and brought me so much joy and peace during darker times and I will always be grateful to Kat and each of these amazing characters for that.

I have loved this series since the beginning.

This book will bring you to your knees. It will make you questions things you thought you had figured out in those series but it will also have you in a chokehold.

Reading Blythe develop as a character over the series was amazing. I always loved her but she is just so selfless and just a badass FMC.

Devil delighted and gave everything I could have wanted. When I finished the feeling of completeness and rightness settled in and instead of my usual book series end emotional hangover, I received just contentedness. I’ve been there every step of the way with Kat, Blythe and Her Halloween Boys and if you’ve loved this series as I have you’re sure to be just as enchanted in the end. The Halloween Boys will always be there for us you simply need to open the page and step through the door.
