Rate this book
Travel through time to the world of the dinosaurs in this exciting prehistoric fiction series for children.

Jamie has just moved to Ammonite Bay, a stretch of coastline famed for its fossils. Lots of dinosaur fans visit Ammonite Bay to search for fossils, and Jamie is one of the biggest dinosaur fans ever. He's a member of the Dinosaur Club-a network of kids around the world who share dinosaur knowledge. They help each other identify fossils, post new dino discoveries, and talk about all things prehistoric. Jamie takes his tablet everywhere, just in case he needs to contact the Club.

Jamie is exploring Ammonite Bay when he meets Tess. Tess is a member of Dinosaur Club who lives in Ammonite Bay too. She shows Jamie around, including her favorite place-a secret cave with fossils all over the walls. But what's that strange tunnel at the back? Together they go through the tunnel and they discover some dinosaur footprints. Jamie and Tess walk along them...and the two new friends find themselves back in the time of the dinosaurs!

It's amazing, but dangerous, too-and they'll definitely need help from the Dinosaur Club...

In this adventure, a sneaky velociraptor steals the kids' tablet. If they can't track it down soon, it'll be stuck in the past forever and the kids will be cut off from Dinosaur Club!

Maybe the best one in the series so far? Very exciting and also funny. My son was impressed with the white-on-black typeface on pages where the action was happening in dark caves.

It was pretty interesting. I never thought of Velociraptors as cat like, but they did a very good jo of making it seem that way. I like the fairly accurate scientific descriptions. Kids will enjoy this.

I read this book mid-series without reading previous books - something that I would not recommended with the series. The book began and ended somewhat abruptly. The dinosaurs aren't too scary, even the velocirpator. The title takes its name from a scene in which the boys fish for the velociraptor, trying to lure him out of his cave with bacon, so that they can retrieve a small computer device called a fossil finder. It's funny that the boys slipping into a world of dinosaurs didn't mess with my sense of implausibility, but this scene did. This series should appeal to beginning chapter book readers who love dinosaurs and adventures, but they should definately begin with the first book.

I just bought this series for our library. At 65 pages it is excellent for very beginning readers- 1st or 2nd grade.
Jamie and his dad have just moved into the Lighthouse in Dinosaur Cove where his father is opening a dinosaur museum. Jamie and his new friend,Tom, discover a cave on the beach that takes them to an amazing secret world with real live dinosaurs.

Nice enough book for kids interested in Dino's. My only complaint is that it is more geared for boys. The two main characters are young boys and so far in the series there is no sign of a girl.

Adorable and simplistic without being too childish for younger readers.
