A compelling spy novel
“Hammerhead” is an enthralling and exciting novel penned by Desmond Cory.
The story revolves around Johnny Fedora, a genius detective who has the duty of preventing an attack caused by a Russian spy. The moment he starts investigating the possible suspect, tension and suspense arises but that doesn't prevent him from finding answers.
When I started reading, I felt intrigued and ended up glued to the pages. I found it really entertaining. I liked the way the events are described and the characters' dialogues; they were so realistic that invited me to feel inside the story. All in all, it's a well-written novel with a bunch of turns and twists that will leave readers at the edge of their seats. I definitely recommend it.

I really enjoyed reading this fictional account of Russian assassins, spies and British agents. It’s imperative to say that this thriller has all the elements of a great novel. First, the underlying premise is a good one, which entertained me from the opening chapter. The full of mystery and action plot is one of its strongest points.
Another pro is that the dialogues are well-written and they create intrigue.
Finally, the characters are as good as the rest of the things in this book; they are developed in such a way that they feel real and, more than once, I could understand their fears, anxieties and doubts.
I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this to a friend; I don’t regret having read it.

Hammerhead: The Hunt for Russia's Deadliest Spy by Desmond Cory can be classified in the genre of detective mysteries. It is a great spy thriller involving two spies opposite to each other in a deadly game of nuclear war.

The story is of utmost interest and sets the action in Madrid. The confrontation is shown between Fedora and Feramontov is rich in suspense and adventure. The pace is moderate, and the writing style of the author catches all readers’ attention. It’s packed with thrill and adventure which engages the readers till the climax. The characters seem strange but are beautifully portrayed by the author.

Overall, a great suspenseful read. Highly recommended for spy thriller fans.

Hammerhead by Cory is one of those tales that has a little bit of everything, and the ingredients all good detective stories should have. It literally blew me away!

I am a casual reader who enjoys those books that resemble Sherlock Holmes sort of book, and this one is one of those. The events are so good that this book could actually make a movie or a series similar to Blacklist, just to mention one.
