Fans of O. Victor Miller's short stories will delight at this collection of articles published in Gray's Sporting Journal and several Georgia publications over the past 30 years. A retired English professor from South Georgia, he's both irreverent and imaginative as he shares his tales of adventure, hunting, fly fishing, river life and travels. Vic offers highly engaging outdoor tales with an elevated turn of phrase that reads like fine literature. You'll laugh out loud and be amazed that he's lived through it all, still alive at 80.
BUZZARD LUCK is a collection of stories that Vic Miller has published in magazines like Gray’s Sporting Journal, Georgia Sportsman, Albany Magazine and Southwest Georgia Living. They are great. Being a collection, it can be a little repetitive at times. However: They are great stories. Miller can easily tell a tale about hunting, fishing, sailing, or just about anything else that you can do in the great outdoors of the United States, Caribbean, Central America...or anywhere else that Miller has traveled...and he has traveled a lot. There were plenty of times that his words made me laugh out loud, despite me not being much of an outdoorsman myself. I would have loved to traveled with him to any of these locales and see what really happened. I'm going to gift my copy to a friend that fishes and hunts and I have no doubt that even though I liked this book a good deal, he will like it even better.
