All Kenny and Ted want is to not feel like outcasts in their small Ohio town. Their world is turned upside down though when the Magic Specs they received unlock a world of possibilities. Their wishes start out innocent enough, but when they wish that their bully would disappear... things take a cursed turn, with far darker consequences than they thought possible...
3.5 stars. Two friends oddly find themselves in possession of some glasses that grant wishes when you were them. Pretty cool concept and this first issue was interesting enough.
With more than a nod to John Carpenter's They Live (it's on the cover and everything), this is a teenage horror story of magic sunglasses, bought from the back pages of a pulp comic book. After inheriting boxes full of his brother's crap comics, Kenny and best friend Ted decide to order a pair of The Phenomenal Gamma Ray's 'magic specs.' But rather than revealing a world of shadowy conspiracy, these sunnies instead grant their wearers' wildest dreams. Well, not that wild. As Kenny and Ted are quick to learn, its powers do have limits. Infinite video game lives rather than infinite life lives.

Bastante entretenido y con un buen inicio. Aunque los creadores aprovecharon el espacio de manera excelente, siento que fue demasiado corto. ¡Puntos extras por el final!
Quite entertaining and off to a good start. Although the creators made excellent use of the space, I feel like it was too short. Bonus points for the ending!
This one was fun and believable. The characters were engaging and interesting. The specs showed up at his door without him, ordering it, and this was at 3 AM in the morning how odd that they proceeded to use it no questions asked. If I had those specs I would be asking for $1 billion, not just the scraps that he asked for. Period.
#1- "Years later in college, I studied The Monkey's Paw. The story that warned you to be careful what you wish for."
Specs, by Booher Fun story set in 1987 about two young guys who discover a magic item (in this instance, a pair of spectacle glasses, like a genie lamp, or Bilbo's ring, etc of folklore and fantasy). A simple story told well makes it an enjoyable read. ****
