This was an informative book about the liturgical tradition of Advent, specifically Anglican practices. A very practical and useful guide for any family along the Canterbury Trail!

Excellent resource for Advent! I love the layout; it is accessible and allows you to choose your level of advent engagement while providing thorough information. We have used all aspects of the book including several of the recipes. I chose 4 stars because the readings are at times far too long to do with children. (Looking at the story of Ruth here) and need to be adapted with shorter attention spans in mind; also so that kids can read too.

No references are given for the sources for her information on traditions, etc. I can't always tell what is actually a tradition recorded and practiced somewhere, and what is something she likes to do at home for her own family. Although she claims to be traditional Anglican, she omits the collects for each Sunday of Advent (some of the most beautiful all year) in favor of her own new written prayers. She also claims a certain meaning for each Advent candle that I've never seen anywhere else (the "pink" candle is "Mary"?!), and again gives no sources. I like the idea of the book, but would like to see her revise it and include all that information.
