Magnus discovers a new enemy, one born from the past: A son of Samuel wants revenge.
There are competing theories, one: that time moves in a straight line from birth to death, one step after another along a path. Or two: time is a wheel. For now, his family is safe, but there is one big issue...
Lochie asked, “How many vessels are there?”
Magnus said, “There are about twenty-six, by last count.”
“How many do you have in your possession?”
“We have about six, here, there are more in the kingdom. We hae lost track.”
Lochie said, “I think the losin’ track might be an issue.”
Magnus knows he needs all of the vessels, he doesn't want to loop, and that they don't want anything, or any one, overwritten. This is imperative, history can't be undone.
Alone on the timeline they seemed safe, but are they?
With new enemies and old scores it seems that keeping the timeline straight might be the most difficult battle of all.
This is Book 18 of the Kaitlyn and the Highlander series, a love story that encompasses all time. It's a contemporary romance with a dash of history and a bit of SciFi — the series must begin with book 1.
To really get into this book, you kinda need to read the first 17 books. Which I've done (twice on a few). Diana takes up where she left the group in the last book, and really puts them on a roller coaster in this one. I went from one emotion to another, happy, sad, glad, to really sad and a bit depressed (how did they lose the...?) (Not saying who they lost, IYKYK). And actually two big deaths, although not before "they lived a good life", and then, time travel & all of the pitfalls (really glad this us a work of fiction, wait, it is, isn't it?)! But she ties it up very nicely in the end, blood pressure came down, I'm no longer depressed... LOL! Hang on to rour seats for a tremendously great read!
Och nae!! I have finished the last book. I read all of these one right after the other. All of the battles and time travel, when read back to back, caused me angst and some battle fatigue but I couldn’t stop reading and powered through. Now I feel like I’ve ended a deep friendship with all of the lively and very real characters from these stories. I don’t know if Book 18 is the true end or just the end for now, but I’d be happy to keep the adventures of Kaitlin, Magnus and the gang going for another 18 books! So enjoyable to read well written books - thank you Diana Knightley for all your hard work! Appreciate your talent and attention to detail in your story lines and characters!
Have you ever forgotten something that you KNEW was important?
.....And struggled to remember? ...........This book will remind you of that peculiar sensation as you dive into layers of time and characters. Book #18 is so good! Diana Knightly is an expert at describing difficult emotions, and I often felt a visceral memory just reading the characters dialogue. You will find yourself moving through your own past and relating to those same feelings. When Kaitlyn and Magnus lose the life they have worked so hard to build, I couldn't see how they would recover. No spoilers here.... But ... when I thought they missed it ... I may be in my OWN time "Wheel" at this point.
I spent about 3 weeks reading all 18 book. There's laughter, adventure, fights, sadness, anger and whoooh lots of sex! If your bothered by close to explicit sex scenes then this book is not for yourself and she I fully enjoyed this series. Author Ms. knightley talents run into quick wit humor. I found myself laughing out loud ( not a good thing when your on a red eye flight lol). I found my self full of distrust the mother and other characters that came into play until they should honor and kept promises. I wanted to crawl into her story and find myself a rugged highlander. Would recommend.
Wow! Just wow! This latest entry into the world of Kaitlyn and the Highlander is a doozy! As always, Diana Knightley has brought another book with all the feels, all the adventure, all the excitement, and all the humor (I laugh and snort continuously throughout her books) but this book was one wild ride! Reading the Kaitlyn and the Highlander series has always been a bit of a roller coaster but this book was the twistiest, turniest, loop-de-loopiest one yet! Highly recommend but this is not a standalone book. Read the entire series in order.
As always it cracked me up and made me cry. There's so much going round and round in this book I need a map to keep it all straight. What a blast. And while I hated the Beastie Boys in high school I died laughing at the mention and had to listen to Sabotage because the image in my head of the battle cracked me up, hard!!! Perfect song for Zach to blare. Thanks again Diana for so much fun.
Knightley delivers again!! A wild ride and incredible adventure. I love this series so much; the characters endear themselves to you and you feel you are right in their story. I laugh out loud often throughout her books and this one didn’t disappoint. You’re always wondering, halfway through, how the heck they’re going to fix things and even when they do it’s mind blowing. Truly enjoyed this read to the very end.
Another wonderful book in the series. I loved the suspense and mystery around the changes all the characters were experiencing. You really don't know what to expect and that makes it very exciting. There's also sad moments that make you reflect on the importance of keeping our loved ones close because time keeps rolling and you can miss someone in the blink of an eye. I think this one is my favorite!! Thank you Diana Knightley for another amazing story.
Love Kaitlyn and Magnus. Diana Knightly has (without a doubt) the most vivid imagination. This book is an enigma. Goes so far back in time I expected to see aliens from outer space. Nope. Goes from the 13th century to the 25th. Time travel gets really 'out of whack'. But in the end...well I won't spoil it for you. My initial comment should be WOW just W O W !
I absolutely loved this story I laughed, cried, got totally confused at one point, and even yelled at the book about where everyone went. If you like crazy, silly, mysterious and getting overwhelmed then you will love .this book I recommend it with a 5 Stars Review.
Diana Knightley you did it again. Thank you so much for this Series I do hope there is more to come !!!😍😍😍
Omg, I don't want the story of Kaitlyn and Magnus to end! I loved having 18 books of stories and adventures to read. Their love is beyond special, the writing magnificent, watching the characters develop so much fun. You won't be sorry if you start this love story adventure of Kaitlyn and her Highlander...It will take your heart away... sometimes your breath...and you will definitely want a Highlander of your very own 😍
Another fabulously entertaining chapter of the Magnus and Kaitlyn story. I never could guess what would happen next. So much action! But it is also sad when the timeline shifts and people are forgotten, characters we have come to love. Time travel is not for the faint of heart!
Soooo worth the wait! What a rollercoaster of emotions. Wow! I absolutely love these characters, and miss them dearly when I’m done. I laughed, I cried, I was biting my nails. Another great adventure!! I have so much to say, but don’t want to spoil anything. I highly recommend this series if you love adventure, time travel, great characters w/ a lot of heart, and of course, Scotland!!
This read I took my time and spaced it out to reading a chapter a day. Then I was sucked in and became way too emotionally invested in what was going on. I had to sit and reflect quite a few times. This has been added to the few books where I close them mid sentence and walk away for a bit, then pick it back up when ready. A perfect next step in the story.
I have read all 18 books in this series. Could not stop. So so so good. Just felt.like I lived with Magnus and Kaitlyn. Times I would cry, laugh and feel happy. Draws you in and won't let go. Time travel, craziness, romance, wars and castles kingdoms. A must read. A amazing author. Thank you so much!
I loved this book!!!! It was great to return to the world of Kaitlyn and The Highlander. This book has a lot of adventures twists, and turns. There is a time loop that is broken/lost. People are missing, and memories are lost. Be prepared for a long, bumpy, treacherous ride! There is a good ending.
I have read all 18 books and loved every one. I love how the family has grown so large. Everyone is comical at times and its so fun waiting for the next jump! Totally scared me when Auld Magus died as I was not sure if that would be the end for them both! Starting book 19 today!
Time and love are intertwined beautifully in this story. Laughs, misremembering, confusion, but always, in the background is the love of Kaitlyn & Magnus. A love so strong that not even the wheel of time can erase it.
If you want a Wild and Crazy time travel ride pick up this series! Do not expect an Outlander remake. Be open to possibilities. Without writing any spoilers, this book is crazy crazy! The whole series is fantastic and thought provoking. You will begin the journey with some immature kids but they will grow and get wiser and, Wow! It is well worth the ride!
Whew!! Some auto other are filled with physical battles but this was full of mental battles as the team travel through the wheel of time. It was fast paced and sometimes heart wrenching but the Happily Ever After is worth the trip!
Maybe more than once, just to make sure you don't miss anything...because there is A LOT going on! Time travel, adventure, love, hate, love to hate, crying, laughing, gasping...ALL the feels!! Just read it, you'll never regret it!
THANK YOU! So happy all have been found and peace has descended upon the lives of this beautifully written family. I hope it stay this way for a good long while!!! But I do look forward to Normond and Livvy's story. And hoping to hear about Archie, Isla and Jack's futures!!
I laughed, I cried and will hold my family closer. So much happening yet DN keeps everything in order and it make believable sense. Of course I will be reading it again as learn and understand more each time.
This book in rhe series was a rollercoaster of emotions and suspense. I couldn't predict where the story was going and it was thrilling through the end.
I just loved this book ….but I have loved all of this series. Lots of humour as well as action, (loved the bit when they were all down with sickness sooo funny!!!) Diana knightley is a great author, and her books are well worth reading
This book is the best one yet! My live for this series keeps.growing. Diana did a great job with the story of time is a wheel. Loved it and felt it! It made me lahgh.and cry! Awesome job, Diana! Can't wait for the next one!
It makes me sad to say goodbye to a group of people who I have felt were a part of my family. 17 books was a rare treat. The first few books were slow but stay with them. Somethings get better with age.
I’d like to preface my review with I LOVE THIS SERIES! This book was confusing at times. Although we hadn’t heard of the villain, he seemed to screw up their lives. But, as usual, Kaitlyn and Magnus’s love prevails.
Total enjoyment. I have spend 6 weeks reading all the books. Could not put them down. The writing had my full attention. The characters, the plots, the culmination - totally gripping.
