Left to wander in the human world alone, she loses herself and her faith in the Gods. Until one night when the depression turns to rage. Using only the bare bones of the earth as a source of power, she calls upon Hecate to help her. But what – or who – is listening, turns out to be something she may be unable to control. Setting out to enact revenge on those who hurt her, Branwen finds she is much stronger than she realized, and that the truth will always come out. Karma’s a witch.

I just wasn't that into this one. The smut just felt...not that hot??? I think I was expecting a different caliber of smut because of her other novels. The witchiness was a vibe though.

“As above, so below, what you reap is what you sow, and all the good shit.”

I can’t believe it’s over 😭😭
No, I don’t want to! I knew from the start that I would love this book!! Not only the plot but the design as well!! Loved every page, every fuck, every revenge… I literally devoured this book. And please.. Roth?! FUCKING ROTH?! He’s my new beau. Loved his character and how he supported Branwen. Now I want a second book.. to now more about Asha and Cain! I know I’ll be as Amazing as the first one!

Each book that I read is a process. The reviews I write as a result tend to be a mish mash of the feelings evoked and the general story.

I loved the start of the book. Some of the middle then towards the back end I just wasn't feeling it so I skim read to the end.

Why do all the Gods have to be so fucking cryptic. Just spell it the fuck out for people. If you’re going to help a mortal, help them.

I loved the start of the story. Branwen and Asha, not so much her mother or her friends and if you read on you clearly know why not her friends. I'm a bit on the fence on Roth as a character, Cain as a side character and their whole underworld aspect.

Her low points I found to be hard, petty at times but also realistic. I appreciate that there are several trigger warnings. I appreciate that her suicide scene wasn't sugar coated/fade to black. I love that in the scheme of a paranormal romance she found her vengeance in her paralysis monster (I'm friends with the monster that's under my bed kept playing in my head as the theme song to the book).

I however was not a fan of her overall pay back. It felt so petty and drawn out that I couldn't help but feel perhaps it was borrowing from D.I.'s/the author's life. She wanted to get back at some people through the aspect of public humiliation. A little social media searching and then I found out some of the drama related to her other book that I liked but was bombed with references to plagiarism (that none of the reviews at the time mentioned who they were referring to) and I felt perhaps this is what the drawn out humiliation of the former 'besties' and Kegan was about.

Soft of eye and light of touch, speak little and listen much.

I loved the intro spell craft details/factoids. And I get that Branwen basically changed to the dark side but her character felt like such a contrast from where she starts to where she ends up to rather than being growth.

“If I’m alive, it’s only because you need me,” he says with a moan. His grip tightens on my hair. “And if I’m good, it’s only for you.”

Chapter 20 is a carnal masterpiece.

Chapter 25 and Chapter 26 were my least favourite.

Anyway, overall, an okay book.

If you are looking for a hot steamy witchy revenge plot, then this is the book for you!

Talk about full of spice and absolutely nothing nice! As Above, So Below by Dana Isaly is it extremely spicy easy read that embodies a strong female revenge plot. I would give it a 4/5 on the spice which is an absolute phenomenal rating. chock-full of demons and witches, this book is perfect for the spooky time of the year. I highly recommend it for a quick reading fix!

When the main character is scorned by a male friend and her entire community turns against her, she falls into a great depression and isn't sure what to do about it. Stripped of her powers as a witch and living among humans, she makes the ultimate decision to end her suffering but is saved by her long-term paralysis demon. Raunchy debauchery ensues in the underworld as she plots her revenge.

I'd give this book a solid 4/5. I do wish there was a little bit more character development and world building. I would like to read more about the siblings as well as Lucifer himself. I feel like they could've done a little bit more with that dynamic. Potentially additional books??

I was gifted an arc in exchange for a honest review.

This book was OUTSTANDING! Dana Isaly completely outdid herself with this brilliantly original story. From the characters, to the storyline, to the incredible imagery the words weaved…I was completely hooked. I was so immersed in this story. I never wanted to put it down and I never wanted it to end. Branwen was such a phenomenal FMC. Her love and loyalty, her strength and courage, and her hope were like a beacon of light. Despite everything she had endured, she continued to thrive and fight with a little help from a certain demon. Roth was…FIRE! Drop dead sexy and a complete softy, just for Branwen of course, these two were completely and utterly fated for one another. The chemistry between the two was absolutely off the charts and *chefs kiss* fantastic! There is just so much to LOVE about this book that I can’t even find the words to truly convey just how phenomenal this book was. Trust me when I say, you will absolutely want to read this book!
Even more so…the cover is stunning and the formatting of the interior was unlike anything I have ever seen. It was absolutely beautiful and truly added such a special touch to the story.

Absolute MUST READ!

4.5 stars.
Damn.
If you have any sort of sensitivity to self harm/suicide, I would steer way clear of this one.
This is basically all about that, and the first half of the book follows Branwen on her downward spiral of despair and loneliness.
Then her paralysis demon comes to the rescue and baptizes her in fire so she can smite her betrayers.
It was vengeful and beautiful.
I loved the plot. It was super sad and heartbreaking, but led to such wonderful revenge.
The sex was hot as hell, though I could’ve used some more tail action.

I loved it.
Roth is so protective and possessive and dominant, and yet still a total simp for his girl. It’s sort of adorable how much he worships her.

And now I understand why there was so much outcry for Cain and Asha’s story. I totally agree. I need that bucking duo to get their own book. STAT.

I’m glad I picked this up.
It was just what I was looking for.

“As above, so below, what you reap is what you sow”

Karma is a bitch when you’re dealing with a witch

What a great quick read!

Branwen is about to become the first youngest high priestess of her coven until something goes wrong. She is stripped of her power and cast out. Alone and powerless Branwen feels like there is nothing worth living for until Roth saves her. They come together to seek revenge on those who cast her out.

I love Dana’s writing! She has a way of drawing you into the story. You can feel the pain Branwen is feeling through out the story. Dana puts in all the witchy feels that you need in a witch book. Each chapter starts with a witch tip and I love that.
Let’s just say the spicy scenes are HOT!! Witch and Demon smut. And Roth sure knows how to use his tail 😉😉
You can not go wrong with picking up this book. Now I hope we get a book for Asha and Cain.

I always loved witches stories, and this one is perfect for the spooky season !
I find the witch tips between each chapter really fun and interesting !

I was afraid to read a story of a sweet little witch who falls into the clutches of an evil demon... (Something cliché you know) but that's not the case and I loved being surprised by the turn of the story ! 😈

Who would have thought that a demon could become a real bookboyfriend ❤️

Please Dana, tell me Asha & Cain will have a book 😏👀

I Went Into This Book Completely Blind And Safe To Say I’m Glad I Did. The Plot Twists Surprised Me And I Never Would Have Guessed What Happened But I Loved It!
I Love The Realism Of This Book Showing Embracing A Woman’s Body, The Effects Of People’s Words And Actions And How No Matter How Hard Things Get You Can Always Bounce Back.
I Also Thought I Was Obsessed With Roth Until I Met Cain, I Love Cain And I Need More!!!
Dana Never Fails To Write An Amazing Book And This Was No Different. It Was A Little Out Of My Comfort Zone So I Wasn’t Sure If I Would Like It But I Couldn’t Have Been More Wrong And I’m Glad I Read It.

I feel so grateful to have been chosen for this arc 😭🖤 Dana, I think this is my favorite book you’ve ever written. I don’t even know how to put my thoughts into words. As someone who struggles with their mental health daily, it was refreshing to see it written out for people to see.

I love Branwen and seeing her get revenge on the people who wronged her was perfect. And I’m happy she ended up with someone who just wanted to watch the world burn with her 😈 I love Roth’s “touch her and you die” vibes 👏🏼

This book is worth the read. I’m definitely buying a physical copy as soon as I’m able to 😍

Please, please, please read her trigger warnings. I cannot stress it enough. This is not just a spicy book. This is a book that goes into detail about mental health and suicide.

Say what you want, but reading Dana Isaly is never boring and is always a good time. Well, it is for me, at least. She’s a writer who always has something new to say, a new plot to show us, and new voices to tell us tales. She has yet to write anything redundant or repetitive, and I have yet to see anything from her that she hasn’t put her whole heart into. There hasn’t been one release from her that she hasn’t believed in and hasn’t left a shard of her heart in, and if you know anything of Isaly herself (as a person and an author she has never shied away from sharing her personal struggles and feelings), you can really see how exposed she must have felt while writing “As Above So Below”.

A great deal of Dana’s readers prefer her lighter releases, the spicy and flirty ones that can be gobbled up like really good chocolate while drinking champagne and strawberries. Don’t get me wrong, I love those books too! But not as much as I’ve loved her darker romances: from the Triad series to Into the Dark (which is my favorite of her books). Now we get to add to the darker writings of Dana Isaly with the vulnerable, emotional, vengeful, and terrifically spicy “As Above So Below”.

There’s so much to like about this book: the plot, the characters, the underlying themes, and even the witchy snippet pages placed here and there throughout the book that could almost serve as a small Witch 101 primer (I will use a caveat that there is no one way to practice witchcraft here just because I feel it needs to be said) that I found cute and a unique touch that shows Dana really put a lot of herself into both the research and writing of this book.

As I’ve read some of the early reviews besides mine and I hear a lot of other readers say they need more of Cain. Me? I wish I could’ve had more of this book, personally. That’s my sole complaint about this book, which is funny. A lot of the time I wish books would have been shorter because I feel like the author put in too much filler content and should’ve done a bit more content editing before they released the book. In this case, I kind of thought the book was just a bit rushed. I found myself wanting a bit more time with this plot and this book. I’m not a professional writer, but I found myself reading some scenes where I ended up disappointed because they weren’t longer, or not enough time being spent with supporting characters, or just taking some time to get to know Hell a bit. It’s one of the very few times when I felt very sad that the book ended where it did.

It was a yummy Halloween treat. There’s nothing quite like a vengeful woman with a bone to pick with the patriarchy. I’m here for it.

I received a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for a fair and honest review.

How can a book be this perfect 😲? This book was so good. It had EVERYTHING. Happiness, heartbreak, revenge, spice, spookiness. THIS WAS A PERFECT READ. Like wow, so good. I'm seriously at a loss of words to describe my feelings right now. The story was so beautiful (even though it had witches and demons). I'm absolutely in love with this story. Dana, please tell me this will become a series coz I've not had enough!!

Branwen is the most kind hearted person ever. She's helpful, and caring, and loving, and just plain angel. She has a beautiful soul and is always about others before her. Her coven betraying her was not what she deserved, at all. I could feel every ounce of her pain and anger, and I wanted to shake some sense into the coven people myself. Oh and kill Kegan, like skin him alive kill. Her spiralling to the bottom and then rising to avenge all the wrongs that happened to her showed how strong she is. It showed that when enraged even the most kind person can and will take their sweet sweet revenge.

Roth. Okay he is too handsome and pure hearted to be a demon. Like wow, what a guy! He is so protective and supportive towards Bran (my nickname for her 😅). Like Bran said, her guardian demon, saving her from herself and the world. I really loved his personality and the way he was always there for Branwen, always supporting her decisions, no matter what.

The spice between the two is off the charts hot! Like being in hell, hot (which it true but eh). Every scene was bang on. And the tail play 🥵🥵🥵 too hot to resist! Like I wanted a demon of my own who would do all that to me!!

Roth's brothers and sisters really gave such a sweet homely touch to the story. I loved it so much. And Asha 🛐 that girl is a gem. I would definitely want her to be my sister. So pure. she implicitly trusts her sister, no matter what happens. She knows she and knows what she can and cannot do. Honestly, I thought the mother would stand up for her daughter. It being Asha who did made tge story so much more heartbreaking. How can a mother not see what's happening!

To end it, I just wanna say everyone should read this story at least once in their life. It captures so many emotions and truth of life! Dana really outdid herself by writing this beautiful and emotional story. After reading the author's note, I know it wouldn't have been easy to write this book, so thank you so much for taking the chance and writing it. I'm looking forward to a reread of the book real soon.

A witch falsely accused of dark magic and outcast by her coven has her entire life go up in flames and finds that the only comfort for her comes in the form of a sleep paralysis demon... who turns out to be a very real one interested in her... and getting revenge against the coven who betrayed her. Branwen was meant to become her coven’s youngest High Priestess, at the age of 27, she is the only one with a full range of power and she was ready to give it all for her coven... except on the night of the ritual it all goes horrible wrong. Branwen is betrayed, accused of black magic, outcast, and stripped of her powers. She finds herself completely alone, spiraling into vices trying to feel anything... and her only comfort comes in the form of her sleep paralysis demon she talked to ever since she was 14. He is the only person she’s every told everything to and the only person still with her after everything, except he’s not just her imagination and in fact a very real demon named Roth who wants her. Roth has wanted Branwen ever since they first met, he wants nothing more than to help her get her revenge and to love her. Now Branwen has something to light the fire in her again.... her revenge against all those who betrayed her and left her. She wants revenge, and as the saying goes, hell hath no fury like a woman scorned, especially a woman with a demon on her side. This was such a fantastic read, I adored it. I am a huge sucker for revenge stories and I had so much fun with this one. Roth and Branwen were so cute together and the way Roth supports Branwen’s revenge was *chef’s kiss*. I absolutely need a second book featuring Asha and Cain!!

*This book comes out in October 31*

Dana really went above and beyond with this book. I've read most of her books and although I've liked them all, I can say that with each book or novella she puts out there she gets better and better, she changes the game and I couldn't be happier about this!!

This story follows Branwen, who is a witch banished from her coven by one of the closest people to her. During her stay in the human world she goes through a lot without her magic, and being literally alone. But here comes our little demon Roth, who in a moment of weakness from Branwen he takes her to the Under. We then see how he helps her plan her revenge against all those who betrayed her and turned their backs on her when she needed them most.

Not only is the cover beautiful, but the story as well. I loved, loved, loved every minute of reading this book, from start to finish. The characters are amazing and the descriptions too. And the spice is incredible as well. This whole book is so well done that it is impossible not to enjoy it.

As Above, So Below is a darkly enchanting tale of betrayal, resilience, and power reclaimed. Dana Isaly brings us a heroine who rises from devastation with teeth bared and fire in her soul. Branwen’s journey from trusted High Priestess to outcast is both heartbreaking and empowering, and watching her claw her way back from loss and humiliation is deeply satisfying.

The story leans heavily into themes of feminine rage, justice, and spiritual reclamation. Branwen’s connection to the divine, especially her summoning of Hecate, is raw and emotional (less a neat spell and more a primal cry into the void). I loved how her power isn’t handed back easily but slowly and dangerously reawakens as she embraces her true self.

There’s an eerie, grounded quality to the magic in this book that makes it feel both intimate and ancient. The writing is lyrical without being overly flowery, and while the plot moves quickly, it doesn’t lose its emotional weight. The revenge arc is deeply satisfying, especially as the truth begins to unravel, and Branwen’s strength turns from reactive to intentional.

If you’re into witchy vengeance, goddess energy, and a heroine who rises from ashes with a vengeance, As Above, So Below casts a potent spell. It's short, sharp, and leaves you with a lingering sense of awe and maybe a little fear.

Who knew demon tail play would make my 🐱 purrr

My heart broke for Branwen after being banished from her coven. (Trigger: depression & attempted suicide) I had to put the book down and cry for this character.

The character development was amazing.. Branwen went from being completely broken to a bada$$ who wants to wreck havoc on the ones who wronged her. Yaaaas girl!!!

“I’m not sure how much I believe in karma anymore,” I say with a sigh. “Or maybe I still believe in it; I just think it’s taking too long for my liking. So I’ll just do it myself.”

Roth.. ugh, I’m just obsessed with him. I LOVE HIS CHARACTER.

“Bend your knees."
“Spread those thighs for me."
“Grab my horns.”

Say lesssssssss 🥵😂

I’m hoping this isn’t the end for these characters, and side character. (Asha & Cain)

This book was amazing, I highly recommend!! 😈🖤

We follow Branwen who is the only witch in her coven to have powers and therefore becomes the youngest Priestess ever. Betrayal happens and she loses her powers and gets banished from her coven. The demon, Roth, who has been visiting her for years comes to her aid.

This book was beautiful. I felt every single emotion Branwen was feeling and was crying with her. I wanted her to get her revenge so badly, and was so happy for her in the end. We go through everything with her. Her suffering, feelings of being unworthy, loss, mental issues. You could tell the author put a lot into her as a character, and I felt like Branwen was a release for Dana as well.

Now... onto the romance part. Roth... I need a demon in my life, preferably one with a tail. Dana always come through with the spice, but the romantic side of Roth was just as great. Roth was encouraging, and so supportive of Branwen. He would do literally anything for her.

Now, this book does have exceptional and consistent spice if that's what you're looking for (that was what I was looking the most forward to). But the suffering and struggle that our FMC went through was just so thoroughly well written that I felt like that was the best part of the story for me. I definitely would recommend this book!!

Brawen is about to become the youngest high priestess of her coven but she is betrayed striped of her powers and cast out. Brawen now is powerless, hopeless and totally alone until Roth saves her life and they became one of the most iconic and hotest duos I have read this year seeking for revenge on those who were supposed to stay with Brawen but didn't.

Brawen was perfect! Brawen was just amazing! I loved her character! She is the perfect example of how the people can transform you, how they can break you to the point when you can't go back to what you were before. Roth is the loveliest demon I have ever met, I loved him so much, he is perfect.

I just wish there was a little bit more of character and world development, I would love to see more of Roth siblings, especially Cain, I loved him.

I have read 3 books from this author and she is amazing, her writing drags you into the story and you can never put it down until you finish it, totally recommended.

I was provided of an ARC in exchange of an honest review.

My favorite phrase was: “And if that’s how you repay kindness...Then your karma is going to be a bitch.”

I am all for a supernatural, dark romance centered around a witch; especially when there is a bonus layer of spice. I definitely recommend it if you agree and like those topics.

What I liked: I enjoyed the character development, the overall plot, the spicy scenes and the little interludes with actual Wiccan Book of Shadows instructions, correspondences and spells. The cover art is gorgeous as well!

My favourite quote from Branwen, "... waiting for karma to do all the work clearly isn't working in my favor. She's a slow bitch. And I'm tired of waiting."

What I didn't like: I wish the book was a little longer; at this novella size, I felt there were some key plot points left out/glossed over, especially towards the end.

There is a list of trigger warnings for those who like a heads up: depression, anxiety, drug & alcohol abuse, thoughts of suicide, attempted suicide, and graphic sexual scenes.

I know this is currently a stand alone, but I would love more time with Branwen and Roth!

4 devilishly good stars for this one!! I loved the dynamic between Branwen and her guardian demon, Roth. The way he indulged, cared for and supported her was awesome and the smut, holy hell! My biggest conplaint, Branwen’s ideas of revenge were a bit tame in my opinion, especially to keep the interests of a demon. BUT oh well, still good!

Entertaining. The story was pretty interesting even though we could have gotten more, it felt a bit too shorter.
It was basically lust at first sight, something I don’t particularly enjoy and the smut was not smutting, it felt like something was missing.
This is a book about revenge. There were some pretty heavy topics.

Ahh this was SO GOOD. First of all, the cover and all of the pages with facts about crystals and tarot and spells were stunning. Its gorgeous.

Branwen, she was such a beautiful human and then her down destroyed her and my heart ached for her. Dana hit on some extremely difficult topics, suicide being the hardest, in such a beautifully handled way.

Roth was sexy AF and absolutely amazing. Being there for Branwen, just in her corner, pun intended, all the time and then again at her lowest moments. He was her rock and her fire and supported her and fueled her fire and it was amazing to read.

I absolutely adored these two. I also really loved Asha and Kain and kind of hope, maybeeee they’ll get a book? Wink wink.
