Saw the Disney version first I think. For some reason this became the book I read after each tooth extraction I guess because I read it while recovery from my first extraction. It's the story of two boys at a summer camp at a ranch where the city boy learns to ride a horse because that's the main activity there. Marty is the rich city kid who's an orphan who lives with his grandfather. Spin is the poorer kid who has been at the ranch before and is popular with the other boys. The funniest part concerns the butler that comes to the camp with Marty.

Read it over and over again as a child. Learned about how horses walk, trot and canter!

Snotty rich kid learns to be a real boy thanks to fisticuffs and the love of a good horse. Entertaining nostalgic rubbish.
